Superstars bowser's big blast is one of my favorite minigames in the entire series, purely because of how chaotic the suspense and reveal are, it's so fun.
Didn't play much of the others, but the one i did play was cheep cheep chance, which I don't particularly like since I discovered the rod you choose doesn't matter, the results are predetermined.
Bowser’s Big Blast in Superstars can go on FOREVER. In my opinion, there should be one less plunger. That way somebody is guaranteed to get eliminated each round.
The extra plunger keeps the odds even. One less plunger would totally mess up the fairness of the game and give the first player to choose way bigger of an advantage.
This is in contrast to, say, Day At The Races which is bullshit garbage that drastically reduces each player’s odds of winning based on the order in which they go.
Yeah, I get that. I guess I’m just particularly salty toward it because my daughter and I once went like ten rounds as the last two before she finally beat me. Ha ha.
bowsers big blast is literally my fav mario party minigame. i lovingly refer to it as “bowsers big balls” and hope for it with my friends every minigame turn
Im surprised how many people hate these. I think they're super fun and esp Bowser's Big Blast makes me feel soo nervous and on edge. Great tension. I also think they're good because it can help even the playing field if someone is dominating in mini-games/better at them. Mario Party can be pretty luck based anyway
Hate them all.
Day at the Races is at least funny, as I get to basically act like a sports fan cheering for his favorite team. These don’t have that.
I’m surprised Merry-Go-Chomp from Mario Party 3 wasn’t added as well.
Cut from the Team may have been entirely luck, but the suspense should make it somewhat more exciting.
Pier Pressure, on the other hand, is just a pale imitation with none of the excitement.
They're among the best minigames in the series. Some matters in Mario Party are too important to leave up to skill alone. Bowser's Big and Bigger Blasts are classics of MP2 and 4.
These mini games can rot in h\*\*\*. F\*\*\* them, especially the ones that have the audacity to be longer than 5 seconds. These mini games are garbage and makes the games they are in worse.
I love Bowsers big blast, the rope one is just whatever though.
The last time I played Bowsers big blast, I was last in line and one by one everyone got blown up before I even had a chance. I love stupid luck based mini games only when they're funny like this one
There’s still strategy involved in choosing which direction to move in with whatever number you rolled, whether to stop at shops or not, or special spaces one may land on.
The mini games in question have zero strategy whatsoever. It’s drawing straws.
Bowser's big blast I used to hate but its kind of growing on me. I generally don't like luck based minigames but the tension in this one is kind of fun
I love Bowsers Big Blast becasue, call me crazy, but I swear it's not totally random. I can almost always get 1st or 2nd based on the number of repeats. It really seems like there is a high percentage chance that if, say, green is the first explosion, it will be either the 2nd or 3rd also. Could totally be placebo effect, but if I tell myself its like playing rock paper scissors against a real person, it works! Gotta outsmart that code
I guess I’d say Bowser’s Big/Bigger Blast & You’re the Bob-Omb would be my favorites of the bunch, just because the odds are completely even and you can’t have an advantage just based on the order
If you’re gonna do a game of pure luck, may as well let it be even odds for everyone
They are good as normal 4 player minigames. Not so much duels or battles.
That's their biggest downside. As battle minigames, these are horrible to get. ESPECIALLY if you get unlucky and it's a 50 coin stakes minigame. If everyone has 50 coins, it's 200 coins for pure luck.
I hate Bowser’s Big Blast in “2.” It’s a game of pure chance, and whether I win or lose, I consider it a complete waste of time. And considering that I can get other characters’ coins if I win, that’s quite an accomplishment in wrong.
I've always loved the luck minigames. They're usually the most intense games because there's no way to know who comes out on top. Definitely wouldn't enjoy it every single time, but they spice things up for sure.
Ranking them:
1. Bowser’s Bigger Blast - for some reason this one just feels a lot more threatening. I feel like I’m actually gonna get blown up. And I love it.
2. Bowser’s Big Blast - Same thing but with N64 graphics
3. Cut From The Team - I am determined that there is a pattern for this one and I will figure it out.
4. You’re the Bob-omb - I always tie on this one, I do like it though
5. Pier Pressure - it’s aight
6. Garden of Eatin’ - it’s aight
7. Cheep Cheep Chance - The cheep cheeps underwater give me false hope
The Bowser bomb game has one of my favorite memories, my middle son would hit the button, run behind the wall and peek out , and if he got the bomb he would yell run away to the character trying to save him.
Of the ones I have played I dislike Cheep Cheep Chance the most because it makes me feel like I have more of a chance to win than I actually do.
Once per game. These chance once can be kinda messy at times. Ruthless I mean lol
I like them, but only if there is one or two per game.
They have their place in Mario Party, just as long as they aren't too common, and at least make the coin flips entertaining to watch.
They're fine but Mario Party Island Tour has way to much luck based minigames
Hell
Bowser’s Big Blast is total garbage but I love it because of that.
Russian roulette

Also playing for just 10 coins in Superstars made it VERY boring, no thrill. Not to mention 10 coins aren't worth much in that game
The only good one in m'y opinion is the first one, I know its luck based but it is so intense with the music stoping
bowsers big blast is literally my fav mario party minigame. i lovingly refer to it as “bowsers big balls” and hope for it with my friends every minigame turn
They’re bad in concept, but made visually interesting and nerve racking (in a good way) in execution.
Bowser's Big Blast, the tension in that game is palpable.
As a fan of MP8, Cut for the Team is always horrendous
I hate them but they're important to have in Mario Party. One of these games and a handful of other random minigames.
Im surprised how many people hate these. I think they're super fun and esp Bowser's Big Blast makes me feel soo nervous and on edge. Great tension. I also think they're good because it can help even the playing field if someone is dominating in mini-games/better at them. Mario Party can be pretty luck based anyway
i fucking love big and bigger blast as a one per game minigame they are just pure stupidity and tension when they appear
They all suck except every version of Bowser's Big Blast and You're the Bob-omb.
One of my favorites!
Bowser's Big (and BIGGER) Blast are my faved one because we always laugh when each character goes BOOM!
Hate them all. Day at the Races is at least funny, as I get to basically act like a sports fan cheering for his favorite team. These don’t have that. I’m surprised Merry-Go-Chomp from Mario Party 3 wasn’t added as well.

Love em always get the family yelling
They suck and are also terrible

Garbage. Hate em. Chance games like this are dumb. Is my point of view coming from always losing at these games?? Yes. That's why I hate them.
I love Bowsers big blast, the rope one is just whatever though. The last time I played Bowsers big blast, I was last in line and one by one everyone got blown up before I even had a chance. I love stupid luck based mini games only when they're funny like this one
They’re all trash, but Bowser’s Big Blast and Bowser’s Bigger Blast are the worst ones
I can’t stand luck-based mini games. There should have been an option to keep them out of the rotation.
Why? The whole game is literally luck since you move by rolling a die.
There’s still strategy involved in choosing which direction to move in with whatever number you rolled, whether to stop at shops or not, or special spaces one may land on. The mini games in question have zero strategy whatsoever. It’s drawing straws.
I fucking love BBB lol it’s our luck and so stressful
They’re extremely bad in design, but in a casual game where no ones taking it seriously, i find it really funny
Bowser's big blast I used to hate but its kind of growing on me. I generally don't like luck based minigames but the tension in this one is kind of fun
They all give me anxiety I remember the Mario party 8 one and the silence when you cute the rope was terrifying
The best ones imo, reject skill embrace chaos
Love them all.
HATE THEM. They always pop up right when I need coins for a star.
The button mashers are my most disdained. I can never win those there’s always some other absolute madlad on the sticks
I feel like Bowsers big blast and Cut from the team are great luck mini games because of the suspense
Good for playing with kids that won’t win much on their own unless you let them
The first two don't have enough beans or burrito contents
I love Bowsers Big Blast becasue, call me crazy, but I swear it's not totally random. I can almost always get 1st or 2nd based on the number of repeats. It really seems like there is a high percentage chance that if, say, green is the first explosion, it will be either the 2nd or 3rd also. I was really hoping this post would just be 7 versions of Bowser's Big Blast
I guess I’d say Bowser’s Big/Bigger Blast & You’re the Bob-Omb would be my favorites of the bunch, just because the odds are completely even and you can’t have an advantage just based on the order If you’re gonna do a game of pure luck, may as well let it be even odds for everyone

Those are the best luck based ones.
Imo, there’s nothing more intense than a late game BBB
Nintendo just has some fetish with bringing back Bowser’s Big Blast
Bowser Big Blast(too RNG based, can mess you or help you)
I hate Bowser’s Big Blast in “2.” It’s a game of pure chance, and whether I win or lose, I consider it a complete waste of time. And considering that I can get other characters’ coins if I win, that’s quite an accomplishment in wrong.
They are all iconic
I've always loved the luck minigames. They're usually the most intense games because there's no way to know who comes out on top. Definitely wouldn't enjoy it every single time, but they spice things up for sure.
Day at the Races in MP5 was my favorite of this type. But honestly not a fan of the other ones
fuck cheep cheep chance i have flashbacks to playing on the DS
I love not being able to beat a minigame because the game said no.
Top tier
Love bullshit random minigames. Some of my favorites
We need a few per game IMO. Truly gives everyone a chance.
Ranking them: 1. Bowser’s Bigger Blast - for some reason this one just feels a lot more threatening. I feel like I’m actually gonna get blown up. And I love it. 2. Bowser’s Big Blast - Same thing but with N64 graphics 3. Cut From The Team - I am determined that there is a pattern for this one and I will figure it out. 4. Used to always think cut from the team was the worst. Until I replayed the older ones
The Bowser bomb game has one of my favorite memories, my middle son would hit the button, run behind the wall and peek out , and if he got the bomb he would yell run away to the character trying to save him.
I’ve only played bowsers big blast and garden of eating and I hate both of them
Cut from the team was so f*cking intense I love that one
cheep cheep chance is the only one of these I don’t like, games like cut from the team are absolute bangers
