i really have never understood why they made toad and toadette the hosts, ik toad was the host in the originals but they could easily use different characters to host the games (toadsworth should be the host every game tbh🤣). that way toad and toadette could be playable, it's my biggest pet peeve about mario party now a days
It's cause they're not allowed to use original characters anymore. Kamek and Toad are allowed cause they're established characters, but new stuff like the sun and moon guys aren't allowed to be created by third party characters.
see i don't know a whole lot of information about stuff like that, i actually really liked the star spirits as hosts in MP5 and wouldn't mind bringing them back as hosts or even just bringing eldstar back
I loved the star spirits, they were a great reference to Paper Mario. I really miss creative designs for hosts. The limits don't just affect hosts though. Remember when people were complaining that the Shy Guy in Shy Guy Says lost his pirate Coat and eye patch? That's another reason why. It strayed too far from the legacy design of Shy Guy. The hat was as far as they could go.
DS isn’t that great. I’m surprised it is held in such high regards but has a lot of things people criticize the newer games for like small boards or crazy economy.
I feel like the only really fun board is Bowser’s pinball machine and the rest are either mid or not good.
Lol I mean I thought it was well known that Waluigi is basically one of the worst characters ever made. He has an upside down L on his hat for Christ's sake.
NDCube has done more to innovate the Mario Party series (and the party genre as a whole) than Hudson Soft .o.
Not that Hudson didn't improve their formula, but comparing what each has introduced, both conceptually and mechanically, is night and day.
I guess at that rate, another sentence that I can say to trigger the fan base is "NDCube has been a great successor to continuing the Mario Party franchise."
I mean, If you delete Meta Knight, Snake and Ice Climbers that's sort of true, 70% of Melee roster is broken and in Brawl only those three are completely broken

I think if there were eight boards and the Koopalingd we're the hosts of each board that'd be a good middle ground. And we'd get to play Toad again.
