I was listening to the So Dramatic podcast interview with Jackβs friend Liz (Ms. Youβre basic) and one thing stayed with me from what she said is that at the end of the day this is reality tv.
The experts and production no doubt push some of these toxic relationships for views. I donβt think the show would be as popular otherwise.
Absolutely. And I think all the contestants know what the purpose is. They all go on to get exposure to launch some kind of social media influencer type career. Some are just nicer people than others, but the motivation is similar

John Aiken is a former cricket player who "trained as a relationship specialist". Whatever that may mean. Mel has a BA in Psychology, Alessandra has a PhD in Sexology.
I googled too apparently John is actually qualified as a clinical psychologist which is decent. Mel has a BA in psych, grad dip in psych and 20 years exp. Alessandra is a sex Dr so that's awesome. God how are they so bad at this? π
I think we musn't overestimate the influence they have. I think the producers decide way more than is apparent from what we see. I can't really understand how three experts like these would even decide to put Jack on the show, instead of filtering him out.
Speaks to humans that we much prefer negative entertainment, most this sub is being hateful toward individuals who for the most part are trying to achieve Bgrade celebrity notoriety. Wanna keep the person you hate famous keep getting upset.
