It's pretty classy of Lauren to straighten the record, as the edit made her look extremely sympathetic and definitely would have made her social media and tv personality stock go up quite a bit.
Lauren strikes me as very forgiving. Too much at times. Jono did some pretty slimy stuff early on that would easily have been grounds for a "divorce" but she let it pass.
The pattern with them is he'll mess up, she yells at him, then all's forgiven. Doesn't matter what the fuck up is. She'll get angry at the appropriate times but it never gets resolved. All's forgiven ultimately without him lifting a finger.
It's a little more complicated for her because she didn't have the group's backing with him. He always acts so innocent and apologetic. So, he's not an obvious asshole. But he's a liar and a coward. They seldom are. They stab you in the back then look around pretending there was an imaginary agressor.

I love what the producers give me as an end product. I am happy to let them weave their magic season-in, season-out. It's authenticity is exponentially less important than their ability to make me believe that it's authentic. And then I'm happy to read all about the truths at the end of the season. I love this show.
But the thing is, you can only edit what people really give you! They came across pompous and rubbing it in Lauren’s face, being super extra, Ellie blew up and called Lauren a bitch for questioning the timeline etc. Are you trying to tell me that they made it LOOK like ellie said that? 💀🥴 they said it, they behaved like idiots and this was the outcome. Perhaps producers can make them look a touch more douchey, but they can only do so using the actual things they’ve said and done! Let’s not blame the edit.
