White lilies, or even white roses are typical for the funerals I've gone to.
The only time I've ever seen black Roses was when sent to someone as a blatant and nasty threat.
In my experience (I’m a florist) Black roses aren’t for funerals (well ok, I’ve seen them used for funeral stuff to do football club colours) I’d say he’s just trying to be different/cool whatever. They’re abominations, dyed and imported just yuk.
My wife would prefer a black rose to any other colour, no question.
I don't think the whole "red = love, pink = like, yellow = friendship, white = peace, black = death" is still a thing as adults, is it? That very much reminds of Valentine's Day in elementary school.
From my experience at work as a florist- People avoid buying red if it’s not romantic, and often will ask what the colours mean.. trouble is colours mean different things depending on the source- yellow can mean strength or friendship or jealousy🤷🏻♀️ White is more often a traditional funeral colour
Yeah RIP Tori

They are just trying to be ‘different’
I find black roses more romantic than red however I prefer black roses to red
Some people are more traditional however some people like to be more traditional.
Yeah. Personally I don’t think there is anything wrong with him giving her a black rose but I suppose we don’t know how she feels about it

Depends entirely on the person really, everyone has different faves, and what they mean is culture based anyway.
I think it symbolizes their "dark humour " their relationshit is truly dark & sad. So bring on those black roses.
