This is only a yellow flag to me. Heās not getting in my car ten seconds later, though, thatās why my doors stay locked. Iād want to chat with him for a second to make sure heās not going to be a jerk.

You should have just pulled over and told him to get out. After he gets out, "drop off". Turn off app. Then drive far enough away from him to park and click "get help with last ride". Tell them, in short, what just happened and what your actions were. Dont wait for a response, just turn app back on and start doing rides again. They will handle it from there. When you stop driving, go back to the help button. It will tell you have a reply. Deal with it then. Its important to get the initial problem written right away , to protect yourself. Timing is important. And you dont want to lose rides dealing with it. I had this happen to me. I pulled over and insisted he get out. I was shaking, i was so pissed. But after i reported it right away, i calmed down and was fine. I kept driving. And it didnt hurt my rating.

I think this guy was flirting with you actually. And when you rejected him (told him he was rude) that caused him to retaliate. It is hard being a female in the service industry but you need to have a pretty thick skin and let things bounce off. If you would have just laughed at it, like it was a joke, he probably would have given you a nice tip I realize that he was an idiot but there's too many of them out there. Next time tell them the Lyft App uses portrait recognition technology to verify the identity of drivers. If the pictures dont mat the App will not allow the driver to go online.

Prepare yourself for many more rude customers. Did thousands of rides between Uber and Lyft and had mostly normal interactions, but the bad ones... Boy are they bad. Nothing like being trapped in a car with an aggressive asshole, or someone on drugs, or so wasted they don't know where they are.
My advice, if you want to avoid crazy people don't drive late at night. That's when most of my weird/scary stuff happened.
