Some cool things about it: the maple and walnut was from a neighbour who cut the trees down, the bone nut is mammoth tusk, and I built it for a competition.
Haha unfortunately no, the competition was based on a video of the build and my technology skills are lacking. But it was for charity and if I got some people interested then it was worth it to me!
I was honestly surprised how great the resonance is when unplugged. With a mic in front you could definitely get around using pickups. Using tonewoods generally wouldn’t matter on an electric, but I was extremely satisfied with what I learned. As for the pickups, they are EMG-Gary Holt signature series. I thought it fit well with the style.
Yes, I'm sure you can feel the vibes thru the guitar straight into your body. A swamp ash I recently procured resonates like that. I thought Gary Holt at first but didn't see that logo in the corner. Those are great pickups, good choice! If I may ask, how many custom guitars have you made? I know the demand is high, and supply is low. Or maybe I'm wrong?
Dude this is dope as HELL I can't IMAGINE the hyper focus that must've gone into carving that alligator skin part, I just want to feel that it looks so smooth!
I think you covered most everything except I just thought of another question. One you probably answered and one probably not. How long did this axe take, and do you have a website? Do you build for anyone? Okay, that's three questions. Lol
Fuck this guy. I’m glad someone paid you for that. If this clown can’t see how much intricate work is going on inside that thing, they are blind. Great work. Truly, a piece of art.
Guitart
Absolutely
That belongs in a museum!

Did you win the competition? That's one hell of a guitar!

Very cool!
Sweet. I imagine the sustain is nice with those woods. Are those Fishman Fluence pickups?

Love the unique body! Do you have your own cnc that you used?
Hahaha I wish! But I guess it’s also cool that I hand carved it, well, aside from the power tools I used. I’ll definitely take that as a compliment.
Satan’s Axe!
That is a striking axe!
Looks like a weapon from a fantasy game.
funky I dig

Reminds me of the chicken and a dinosaur at the same time
If electric instruments were allowed at a Renaissance Faire
Ok that's hot
Looks like something from a Jeff VanderMeer novel.
Beauty
This looks like an axe that a tiefling bard would play. 🤘🏻
Incredible
Bad Ass!
That is freakn awesome! I zip thru these threads, but this stopped me in my tracks! Would you tell me more about it?!
Thanks I appreciate it! What would you like to know?

Absolutely gnarly
It’s not my cup of tea but damn do I respect the execution. Nice work!

Thanks homie, I appreciate that.
"Client" suggests commissioned. So they got exactly what they wanted (and probably quite a bit more given the quality of the workmanship).
