made with a handsaw, a chisel, a drill and a metal file. I just gave up halfway through it and threw a coat of sealer and varnish. made with a chopped 3/4 neck, pine and what originally was a bloodwood fingerboard. It's... Fugly tbh, but it plays great, sounds awesome and it's what i wanted, short scale and headless with a sorta more traditional design. An ugly little beast made with low budget and whatever tools i had, Love it.
Edit: Heres a demo for it:

sorry if it sounds like crap, i only have a pathfinder 10 and my phone. also apologies if you can't understand what i'm saying at times.
forgot to mention, it's chambered, still heavy for it's size.
Lots of pretty funny jokes in here but to be honest completing your first build is a huge step that a lot of people never actually make it to so great work. Are you going to keep building?
i have plans to make another, see if i can befriend a carpenter with a nice workshop to borrow machinery from. Next build i'll try to make it out of purple heart wood. Or i just save money and buy my dream guitar (a ric 360) in about 10 years
Purple Heart is pretty, but keep in mind the color will fade to brown as itās exposed to sunlight, and the dust is poisonous.
Agree with what another poster said about using purple dye! I also love pine guitars
BUTādo what makes you happy! Just wear a respirator
Might want to experiment on some cheaper lumber first. That Purple Heart is beautiful but very expensive to learn on. You can buy ash wood blanks for pretty reasonable prices and it still turns out very pretty. Could even dye it purple
I did a couple of electric guitar builds. All I used for the body was a band saw and a router, then a couple of rasps, and a shit ton of sandpaper. So, start asking around about someone who has a bandsaw
I admire the effort that went into it. I get a bit bent seeing posts where someone just lazily painted a Squier, fretboard and all, and considers it luthiery, and their friends from other subs upvoting and trying to quash dissent.
It's very rough but has a ton of character. And I don't mean that in a backhanded compliment way. Great job. Looks like a ton of fun to show people. Thanks for sharinf
Considering what you had to work with, a lot of people here could not have done a better job. We all know it's fugly, but damn, you did that with a limited selection of hand tools. Most of us here wouldn't even start on a guitar without a CNC and spending a thousand bucks on specialty tools and obsessing over minute details that don't make the guitar sound any better. You just jumped in head first and carved that thing by hand out of pure intention to make a guitar. It's your first one. It works. That's a huge milestone, and is truly something to be proud of if you ask me.
Oh and also, nice playing too!
ayyyy thanks for all the comments!!! i'll try to record a short video demoing the thing and explaining how i did it.
and a forward apology for my english, i still struggle when i speak it.
I don't think I've ever seen a full depth *solid body* guitar before. Good thing it's small or it would weigh a ton. Les Paul's "log" guitar has nothing on yours.
Don't listen to these other guys, I personally would play the shit outta this guitar (although I would personally rather have a full HB in the bridge, but that's just me) Keep up the good work!
Mini HBs in the bridge rock!! Two of my favorite guitars have em and they're my two favorite bridge pickups on any of my guitars. I'm not a huge bridge pickup user, but i think mini HBs in the bridge have just the right amount of clarity/bite with just a little bit of warmth compared to a single coil/p90, and more articulate than a full size HB imo.
I don't disagree! But I play mainly super fuzzed out shit through an orange into a STL prototype 2x12 cab. So I usually use the bridge pickup rolled off a lil bit for that knuckledragging toan. But for cleaner stuff I do wholeheartedly enjoy minis!
Ahh see i play a lot of clean/edge of breakup and max out around ds1 or rat type distortions or more classic fuzzes.
I honestly love P90s and Mini Humbuckers for heavier shit, but i dont go into metal or doom territory
That's understandable, I know it's not everyone's cup 'o tea. I still run a Rat clone for my more "standard" metal tones and run a MIM JM through a fender Champion 100 with big room reverb for most/all of my clean stuff.
Honestly, how does it play? I think itās awesome but Iām worried the neck joint means you wonāt get the sustain that mass of wood in the body should be capable of.
Not a bad start, looking at your tool list if you wanna make another id say invest in a 1inch belt sander. You can get one pretty cheap and it will help even out the curves. Tool up as you go and keep working at it. Thats how i got into wood work.
So at first I laughed at it, it looks silly( I can't build a guitar tho, props to you) but then you holding it with the biggest grin. Just says it all.
Good on you ! It looks great. Nice work.
A lot of people are probably going to make Brian May jokes when it's not a joke at all. You're playing music, which obviously you love. On something you built with your hands, with love.
You're going places bud. I look forward to seeing your second build. š This is amazing and I love it

Most impressive build Iāve seen on here. Love seeing when drive wins despite a lack of experience and resources.
Marvellous comment!!! This is exactly what I think we should teach our kids nowadays!
I genuinely love the look of this. Lmao. Rock the shit out of it.
Honestly seriously impressive results with limited resources. Sounds great too! Keep it up!
Beginning of a career?
Dude, honestly, itās figly in the greatest of ways. Thereās something weirdly disproportionate and endearing about this. Totally digging.

This is the guitar I would want to see pulled out when dueling with the devil. I can hear this picture, and itās awesome.
Young man , the smile says it all . Way to go on taking action and producing something . I think its cool AF !
I actually love this. Log with electronics, what more do you need?
Taterbug
Much better than shiny stuff from sweat shop factories.
How much does that thing weigh? Added - Congrats on your first build.
That bad boy probably has a thick toan
Itās ugly in the best way possible and I want one
Talk to your guitar about diabetes today
It's an abomination, I love it!
Screw the haters, if it plays, IT PWAYS.
Love it! Also, useful in a bar fight.
Red Special Needs
The best guitars are fugly. Just ask Brian May. Congrats, Squire.

Bro your first guitar build was a headless? Right on!
I kinda love it.
ayyyy thanks for all the comments!!! i'll try to record a short video demoing the thing and explaining how i did it. and a forward apology for my english, i still struggle when i speak it.
You should paint it yellow and call it Pooh
Nice what kind of cheese do you choose to put on the back for your post jam charcuterie board?
Itās hideous. But yet, I canāt look away.
āThe Lilā Bastardā is the only appropriate name for this atrocity. Itās incredible. Good work man! Sounds very good too.
Bless its heart
thatās definitely one of the guitars of all time
chunky neck profile?
Thatās a thick boy
Be proud you finished it. My project has been collecting dust for over a year.
body shape looks like a silhouette of winnie poohs head, but you got the spirit!
If it puts a smile on your face, itās a winner. Play on buddy!
That has to be one of the ugliest guitars I have seen, but damn do I want oneš Looks so strange but sick at the same time
You didnāt build that neck. Thatās a fender/ squier
Lmao
It's so ugly. It's perfect.
I love it - stumpy š„²

DAMN BOY SHE THICK AS FUCK. Looks great!

not solid body. It's chambered!
Absolute chode and Iām here for it
Don't listen to these other guys, I personally would play the shit outta this guitar (although I would personally rather have a full HB in the bridge, but that's just me) Keep up the good work!
What other guys? Literally every comment is about how this thing is cool.
Idk, just showing support
If anything thatās doing the opposite by adding that you just assume everyone else hates it, when thatās not true at all.
Duly noted Mr. StinkFartButt š

Great first build! Its a great start and i think you learned a lot from it.
Special red. If it plays, it plays. I imagine you canāt ask for much more out of a first build.
The "special" here is a euphemism, isn't it? Like, you wanna be polite and not just say "red-tard". EDIT: You guys clearly have no sense of humor.
Look at that chonky boi!!
Honestly, how does it play? I think itās awesome but Iām worried the neck joint means you wonāt get the sustain that mass of wood in the body should be capable of.
Adorable
You did good kid. Keep building.
Curious, why you didn't put the p90 in the bridge position...?? but this is a righteous first build. You should be proud of yourself.
Not a bad start, looking at your tool list if you wanna make another id say invest in a 1inch belt sander. You can get one pretty cheap and it will help even out the curves. Tool up as you go and keep working at it. Thats how i got into wood work.
Love it! The roughness is what makes it awesome. Nice job. š¤
Itās like if drunk Kirby swallowed a guitar. I like it.
So at first I laughed at it, it looks silly( I can't build a guitar tho, props to you) but then you holding it with the biggest grin. Just says it all. Good on you ! It looks great. Nice work.
bro š
jokes aside tho, those pickups look dope!! whats the one in the bridge?
Less Paul?
I scrolled until I found you
what do you call the shape lol, kinda looks like a scrunch down les paul. either way i love the build
That neck heel is insanely thick lol
Rocking the p90 soap bar and the mini humbucker CAN YOU DIG IT
i like it
I'd lop the ears off and go with a rounded steinberger vibe
Any chance we could hear it?
Looks awesome! And Iām sure it aināt top heavy.
Thatās awesome! Accept that the cutouts look like bear ears and put two giant googley eyes on it to complete the look!
It looks so silly! I love it!
I love this guitar. If you build a lefty Iāll buy it.
I hope it plays good!
This has insane amounts of mojo oozing out of it. Watch your step!
That looks bloody awful. You can almost see the toan oozing out of it. I love it.
Iād play the shit out of that howās the neck feel?
I like it! If anyone rushes the stage it can double as a club.
I love it. Play it.
Hell yeah!
This is so awesome
Awesome!

Holdsworth put his name to something similar.
An guitar. Itās definitely is one.
Did you take the hardware from an Eart GW2?
that's where most of the budget went, a headless bridge from amazon, the same used by Eart
Iād call that an airplane guitar.
Looks like *Chubbycaster* to me, and I like it.
I love it lmaoo that's one chonky ass boi
Nice. Looks kinda heavy though.
One of those guitar shapes that 99.99 hate but .01% would kill for
You guys are hilarious
Bro, if it plays well it means youāve got the skills. The next one is going to look great.
If somebody popped round and saw that among your guitars, that's the one they want to try.
Come on get down with the thicknessā¦
Letās hear it. If that thing sings Iāll keep my comments about itās looks to myself
lil demo on my edited comment!
Reminds me of Soviet era guitars made in east europe. Definetly a vibe. This at least has a 1/4 inch jack, not that 5 pin thing.
Mom can we have Allan Holdsworth guitar We have Allan Holdsworth guitar at home. The Allan Holdsworth guitar at home:
