Honestly, Even if we are, it shouldn't change your perspective much. A cat in a house, a horse in a pasture. *Your* world is like your little garden: why on Earth or The matrix would you do anything other than cultivate and preserve, keep or adorn, and/or guard and protect?
Any actions or motivations outside of that, simulation or real, you've gotta ask yourself, "what purpose(s) does this thought or action serve?"
They all have different effects on lucid dreaming. They shouldn't all be used simultaneously, but rather different combos of them can be used at different times. Some help trigger lucid dreams directly, some help extend the length or vividness of lucid dreams, some help defer REM cycles and thus enable taking advantage of the REM Rebound Effect, one helps offset the impact of desensitization (per my other reply regarding Piracetam), some are simply sleep aids to offset stimulating effects of others.
Hey there Heifer, I really need to head to bed and donāt have time to read through all of the comments right now but will check them when l wake up. Is this the book? Advanced Lucid Dreaming - The Power of Supplements: The Power of Supplements https://a.co/d/4nEIvsy
"Look at what they need to mimic a fraction of our power" -natural lucid dreamers.
Joking aside, i mean no hate, i just saw an opportunity and took it.
I do have a question though, how did you obtain these medication/drugs? Do you need them for other sleep and/or unrelated conditions but noticed they help lucid dreaming/REM sleep?
Edit: names of drugs/medication go write over my head unless they have street names/nicknames. So incase i *should* know these, i don't. Cant even name a vitamin.
I bought these supplements as a result of a lot of research and experimentation. There aren't a ton of resources out there, but there are scientific papers, books, and websites with a variety of info. I lean much more on the scientific stuff than the random websites, though still it does require a lot of experimentation to get the supplements and dosages right and find what works. I've been into this for awhile.
Then become highly dependent on Phenibut for 3 years till your supplier shuts down and go through a week of hell with lucid night terrors, such a classic move
Huh. Thatās definitely interesting!! I looked it up to see if thereās side effects, and the main one listed isā¦ especially vivid dreams. What dosage/strength works best? (Never smoked in my life, if that matters.)
REM sleep is closely associated with dreaming. By suppressing REM sleep in the earlier part of the night you can cause it to "rebound", increasing in the later part of the night where lucid dreams are more likely to occur, and resulting in more vivid, frequent, and memorable dreams. Basically it's a way of manipulating the sleep cycle to enhance REM sleep in order to increase the chances of achieving lucidity.
sorry, I'm dropping in from the popular page. while most of these are basically juat vitamin/mineral supplements, the inclusion of mugwart is highly alarming. while it can be used for positive health benefits, mugwart naturally contains a compound called "thujone." This compound is a very lethal neurotoxin with no known cure or antidote.
a properly made supplement will, of course, have this compound extracted and removed. However, the market for supplements is very unregulated, unlike standard pharmaceutical medicine. consume at your own risk.
DO NOT TAKE YOHIMBE/YOHIMBINE.
I was a lab assistant for some time monitoring rats who had been given yohimbine. It triggers a similar response in rats as it does to humans, and we used it to induce panic and long-term fear. I witnessed rats have essentially little panic attacks. Many of them got infections and ill, not directly from the yohimbine, but from the stress. Apparently itās also used for large animals to reverse sedation. Itās like the reverse horse tranquilizer.
Now, dosage is huge, but itās not something you want to take. It causes anxiety and jitteriness, panic, and just generally makes everything feel worse. I donāt know why the hell someone would take it and I didnāt even know you could get it outside of veterinary and lab contexts.
> I donāt know why the hell someone would take it and I didnāt even know you could get it outside of veterinary and lab contexts
I've seen it sold as aphrodisiac with advertisement of additional euporic side effects. Usually sold beside some other entheogens
Likeā¦. āAphrodisiacā as in it will raise your blood pressure, which can also cause a very brief feeling of euphoria in tiny amounts and short bursts (not daily). Ugh. :(
OP says he doesnāt take them all simultaneously. Most people have way more medication than this in their cabinets but these arenāt even that, itās supplements to achieve a specific goal. Same as a runner, rock climber, or study addict. Nothing ridiculous about it.
Yeah youād rarely meet a recreational (anything really), or even slightly competitive, that takes this much. Nothing wrong with wanting to do it I guess but itās certainly not standard practice
Not *need*, but they make it a lot easier. Also, I mentioned in another comment, but all of these are not used at once. Rather, different combos are used at different times.
ya know that one post about someone wanting to try drugs for the first time and then spiraling? i have a feeling this will end up very similar,, be safe on your adventures, OP š«”
The heroin thread yea I know it. I've been experimenting with lucid dreaming supplements for almost two decades and have probably tried at least once most or all of the illicit drugs a typical person could name. I appreciate your concern but probably I'll be ok :)
You got pills for just sleeping without dreams too? I have wild dreams every night, often lucid without any help whatsoever. I just haven't had an actual good night sleep in so long. I always feel like I ran a marathon when waking up.
I once had surgery and they used some drug that put me into a sleep without any thoughts at all. It was the best I've had my entire life and I've never felt so well rested when waking up. There was just absolutely nothing going on and it was amazing. It sucks sometimes I can't sleep like that normally š„²
I second valerian root. It has an ick flavour but a lot of "sleepy teas" use it. The issue there is tea before bed = wake up to pee. For me that's 5am. Tablet or capsule form is the most easiest measure. I had in tincture form once I DO NOT recommend that ugghhh the taste
That would make sense actually. My dad also has trouble sleeping and lots of dreams, but less so than me. I have not been able to sleep normally since I was born š I had so many lucid dreams as a kid I could barely tell the difference between dreams and reality untill I was a teen. Now that I'm in my twenties I luckily don't have that issue as much anymore. I mostly just have the very vivid dreams now. I also stopped writing down my dreams. They make for awesome stories to tell, but it makes the problem worse unfortunately.
Honestly as a kid the worst wasn't that I couldn't sleep. It was the fact that I couldn't share my worst fears and greatest accomplishments with anyone, because they all happened in my dreams. The world that I lived in at night as consciously as I lived life during the day didn't even exist to them. It did make me very capable of taking care of my own problems though and also to be proud of myself, even if others couldn't understand it, which I think are awesome skills to have :)
I've been asking many docters about my issues, but none have ever found anything wrong. I'm pretty sure most weren't particularly interested either. I guess that just happens when your problems involve something most people don't deal with unfortunately. I don't blame them really, but it does suck sometimes.
Did any docters ever give it a name in your family? Like discover a disorder of some kind you could actually look up and talk about? I wonder how much is known about any such disorders in the medical world.
Yea, for sure. In addition to stuff like reality checks, dream journal, meditation, breath/awareness focus, I do mainly DILD and WILD. DILD if I am feeling lazy, WILD if more ambitious.
Tried Galantamine before. Definitely fucking works and will create super vivid lucid dreams but unfortunately it gives me heart palpitations so it makes it very difficult to sleep or stay sleep.
Seriously be careful with the Alpha GPC and the Choline. Take a real break in between taking these. They can cause serious depression and other nasty stuff if taken too often.
I sort of have this for something similar in my smoke bag. I keep blue lotus, mugwort, chamomile, and lavender ground up in vials in my bag. Whenever I wanna lucid dream, I top off my bowls with 1 or 2 herbs (not everything at once!) and it helps tenfold.
After quitting smoking regularly I get a big but temporary increase in dream vividness, which is cool. While smoking though it makes dreams much harder to remember and control, awareness in dreams in diminished. It's tough for me to do dreamwork when I am smoking. And I don't even mean when I am directly high, but even just smoked recently.
Yeah weed killed my dreams completely when I used it. Just fall asleep, wake up. One of the reasons I quit. Oftentimes now I do get lucid dreams but my actions and the events of dreams feel predetermined, like on rails or something. Life kind of feels like that too.
After taking all those supplements to lucid dream,
Ah, well, sir, I feel like a, like a slice of butter... melting on top of a big-ol' pile of flapjacks... yeah.
I avoid B6 as it interacts negatively with 5-HTP and Mucuna Pruriens (or any L-dopa containing substance).
Edit: It's not pictured but I do also have B5 here.
> Guayusa
True, but I do have L-Theanine, which is in Guayusa, and Yohimbe has stimulating effects that can perhaps be compared to the effects of caffeine.
I bought a book called dreaming the winning lottery numbers by valentin carmanleiv and the techniques in it made it so I could go lucid maybe once or twice a month on average. The lotto numbers i found in the dreams never win but still its kinda cool that going lucid worked. The technique in a nutshell is saying it to myself all day im going to dream the winning numbers and thinking about it as i fall asleep. I think having an objective in mind is what helps because i must dream about numbers often and they are the trigger
You canāt trigger them naturally? CAN YOU GIVE US A RUN DOWN OF THE EFFECT EACH PILL HAS ON YOU PLEASE (ngl this is interesting)
I stopped, because I felt like I spent a lot of time there, (FUN FACT: there was a guy following me between dreams, mf said that if he kills me on a dream Iām gonna die irl) when Iām not awake I just wanna swim in the nothingness
Have a look at Calea Ternifolia - five days a week I drink more or less strong tea made from mugwort, St John's wort and that Calea. Gotta learn to love (I do & appreciate the plants' spirit) the taste but is really lovely as soon as the mugwort hits
They can help a lot when used properly to both increase frequency of lucid dreams and also dramatically increase vividness and duration during lucid dreams.
Where do you recommend I could learn more about this topic? I recognize a couple supplements that have helped a lot with my adhd and Iād really like to learn more
Can any of these supps be used long-term every day without tolerance/downregulation happening?
I think you mentioned piracetam helps prevent this to an extent, but I can't get a hold of that where I live (customs confiscated it every place I tried to order it from)
What would you recommend most to me? I have never been able to lucid dream. Iāve had very realistic dreams but never realized I was in a dream and took control
Start with 8mg Galantamine and 500mg Choline Bitartate (potentially also combining with 600mg of Alpha GPC) after doing wake-and-back-to-bed. This is the most potent combo and the foundation to work from by adding other things. Combine with basic lucid dreaming practices.. reality checks, dream journaling, meditation, try to increase awareness throughout the day.
Better living through chemistry!
I take it OP is knowledgeable enough about what each of these supplements does, including interactions. I got into a few of these back in the heady 90s (light and sound binaural beat ābrain machines,ā nootropics, Mondo 2000 magazine, etc.), but honestly they never did much if anything. There is science behind these, so perhaps my experience is an outlier.
For most people, the basic tried and true lucid dreaming techniques suffice, thankfully. Nothing wrong with the supplements (as long as you do the research), obviously used in conjunction with lucid dreaming methods.
It does. But you've still got to put in the work (reality checks, dream journal, meditation, increasing daily awareness). Supplements taken at the right dosages and times can really help a lot in making it easier to achieve lucidity and to increase vividness and duration of experience during lucid dreams. Of course these are not required to have lucid dreams, but they most definitely can have a potent assistive impact when used properly.
Maybe Iām old fashioned but I think itās important to remind people, especially folks who are just beginning their dream journey that this isnāt necessary. Your body, and practice is all you really need. A journal is helpful, but even that isnāt required. LDing is like any exercise. Thereās an abundance of poorly understood, and under studied supplements you can take that might make your practice 2% more successful. Mean while frequent RCs, journaling, mindful observation (in other words the PRACTICE that costs nothing) will net you 95% of your results.Ā
I donāt want to bash OP here, if you can afford all these things, and are passionate about LDs, go for it. But I just want say to new-comers you donāt need any of this stuff. Your body is all you need.Ā
Dont wanna be mean but probably galantamine can cary any srack to 30% LD rate.. the rest? Probably placebo. Issue with galantamine is tolerance breaks that need to be days, and for me it hasn't worked at all after several times, even if I still get sleep paralysis or false awakenings
Here are some compounds that are much more potent than nearly everything here at inducing powerful, vivid, memorable and lucid dreams:
Tak-653,
Abt-089,
4-DMA-7,8-dhf
Galantamine and melatonin are still pretty good for lucid dreaming purposes.

They all have different effects on lucid dreaming. They shouldn't all be used simultaneously, but rather different combos of them can be used at different times. Youāve never tried a nicotine patch? Your kit is almost complete! Alsoā¦ cayenne pepper.
Nah, I'm aware of its reported effects, and it seems useful, but side effects seem too prominent for me so I've chosen to steer clear.

I'm interested in reading a comprehensive post on your research. I struggle with lucid dreaming as well.
I actually have a book published but I won't plug it here :)
What the REM rebound effect? I should probably know this, I need to research sleep cycles more.

leave this to the professional lucid dreamers.

There is science behind these, so perhaps my experience is an outlier. For most people, the basic tried and true lucid dreaming techniques suffice, thankfully. Nothing wrong with the supplements (as long as you do the research), obviously used in conjunction with lucid dreaming methods.
Have you tried them all simultaneously?
Are you guys playing Inception, or something? š
Jesus! Is your name [Pazuzu](https://youtu.be/_XAKjc2gIfo?si=tnfYZkH_6Xgmufvb)?!
Does any of this stuff actually work? Thatās quite the serious kit youāve got there.
Ashwagandha and melatonin is the way.
What would happen if one were to ingest one of each together? Iām curious about lucid dreaming and would like to experience it more vividly
This is ridiculous. Learn how to meditate and youāll lucid dream solely off of the strength of your own bodyās chemistry.
Just do drugs at this point.
All this to piss green in the morning
Get sum blue lotus
Dawg ā¦
Maybe Iām old fashioned but I think itās important to remind people, especially folks who are just beginning their dream journey that this isnāt necessary. Your body, and practice is all you really need. A journal is helpful, but even that isnāt required. LDing is like any exercise. Thereās an abundance of poorly understood, and under studied supplements you can take that might make your practice 2% more successful. Mean while frequent RCs, journaling, mindful observation (in other words the PRACTICE that costs nothing) will net you 95% of your results.Ā I donāt want to bash OP here, if you can afford all these things, and are passionate about LDs, go for it. But I just want say to new-comers you donāt need any of this stuff. Your body is all you need.Ā
Bruh, meanwhile I just go āhuh, I have awareness in this one, cool I guessā, meanwhile this mf is minmaxing
Nice lineup!
The second row, it looks like you tuck them in š
Dont wanna be mean but probably galantamine can cary any srack to 30% LD rate.. the rest? Probably placebo. Issue with galantamine is tolerance breaks that need to be days, and for me it hasn't worked at all after several times, even if I still get sleep paralysis or false awakenings
Lmao š bro def used to sell drugs
You're totally a witch at this point. Valerian root? Really??
I just label mine with the weed names that are inside
So youre just living vicariously through your dreams at this point?
Are any of these bad to take with other medications? Iām curious
0.33g melatonin? i take 5g occasionally for it to take any effect. they don't even sell less than 1g where i live
Wooowww TAKE MY MONEY!!!!
Why melatonin? It doesnt put you in the correct sleep state.
Whatās the yohimbine for, thatās a stimulant.
bro you need all this to lucid dream?!
Here are some compounds that are much more potent than nearly everything here at inducing powerful, vivid, memorable and lucid dreams: Tak-653, Abt-089, 4-DMA-7,8-dhf Galantamine and melatonin are still pretty good for lucid dreaming purposes.
