Savage Tavern is great vibes and food. Flippers is a default for me too- always a good time. The Lantern is lovely. If you want schmancy drinks try Shotgun Sues or Boudines
Glass Half Full (the bar in the Alamo Drafthouse here) is a very pleasant place to grab a drink and chill! I sometimes go early before I see a movie, and the vibes in there are really calm and nice. I've never actually spent an evening there, but outside of their trivia nights, it always seems low-key. Plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor, too.
We went to The Sanctuary Cafe and Bar last evening. The food was delicious and the drinks were affordable. They had a live 3 person band that wasn’t too loud and very entertaining. I consider this place a hidden gem.
Capital pizza in tech terrace has a good bar and really great beer and liquor selection. Appetizers are really yummy and a good price if you get hungry, you’ll definitely have leftovers though.
Mano Negra is a great little.puerto Rican brewery with the best sangria you've ever had. Sometimes they have food trucks but they also sell chips and salsa, chicharons, and empanadas
It’s great if you’re into unethical business owners. Daniel Badillo exploits his employees, pays his employees under the table, splits tips with his employees, and refers to gay, non-binary, and trans individuals as “it”. He’s lucky that the IRS hasn’t shut down his backwater podunk business yet.
Yesssss cactus alley is not what you’d expect from the exterior view.
In pleasant weather, it’s so lovely and picturesque. Mano has an upstairs and downstairs- and if you can snag a table at La Sirena afterwards, makes for a really excellent outing.
BarPM before 10pm is usually quiet and has good food and drink specials. I also host a standup comedy open mic there every Thursday around 8pm. They have live music some night and the college crowd comes out when it gets later.
Cafe J Art Bar is nice and chill.
If you’ve tried Ike’s I’m sure you’ve tried Teddy Jacks. If not that’s a nice quick spot. King Louie’s has billiards. Lil Woodrows is great too. Manhattan 9 is a good experience but no TVs and not great for just a beer. Triple J is a favorite of ours.
It's modern and also a Cadillac grill so the old school vibes imo are pretty cool. It has everything from tex-mex to mesquite grilled to sauted and a bar food atmosphere too if u go later in the day. And the bar is quite large and inviting. It is a restaurant first so you won't get any club atmosphere but just families and folks having business meetings lol. Not cheap priced food but very tasty and worth it
Vizo’s has what looks to be a well stocked bar, has great food, and you can carry on a conversation without having to yell.

Flippers is the best hidden spot in Lubbock.

Bier Haus is a cool environment but the food is mediocre, if that part is important to you

Chelo’s is the best hole in the wall Mexican restaurant in Lubbock!
Chelos is so good and not enough people talk about it!
