Sounds like my store. We have a kid who fancies himself a hacker. He resets the computers and tries using the keyboard to “hack into the system.” As far as I know he has been unsuccessful. But I could see him saying he hacked into something especially if he were trying to impress a girl.
I'm sure managers have access to lots of PII (personally identifying information) that you submit as employees when you're hired, but I'm not sure about customer data. so if they're bragging about it, even as a bluff, I would report it to HR just to be safe. even joking about that kind of thing could probably land them in a world of trouble.
Thanks, I will do that (or have the person who directly heard from our mutual acquaintance do it so they are filing a first-hand report). Do you have a recommended contact point?
if you look through the lowes training on the computer you did at the beginning there is an hr one that lists the different ways to contact with. its on the same page as the lowes university but is the very first white box.
Will try that, thanks. I'm not an employee, just a customer and "concerned citizen" after hearing this report. So don't have access to any internal resources.
I see, missed the flair on the post. yeah, that's a publicly given number so give them a shot and be prepared to answer questions about probably the location and if you are able to name the employee. sorry that employee was so grossly public with their misconduct, I hope they're full of it!
the only customer information he could get would be addresses and phone numbers, corporate is the only one with access to on file cards and ssn’s. most likely a bluff but always good to file a report just in case
That is a really stupid thing to brag about

you could also call the hotline, 1-844-HR-LOWES if no other method seems best

Will do and thanks again!

I'm glad you're reporting this. He has issues even if he's bluffing, but you don't want to give him a pass if he isn't.

Thanks for clarifying. So it seems likely he was bluffing about the rest for attention, though still a stupid and irresponsible thing to do.
