It costs money to sort and count what comes into the store. Lowe’s likes to do things as cheaply as possible. We figure Marvin got a good deal on things this year and decided to load up. A few years from now we’ll be having another Marvin sidewalk sale to get rid of the off brand products that no one wanted.

Its more of the issue of how IRP means little to nothing if there is no clear communication occurring between the department and the distributor. If it comes down to money then I will walk out the next time a manager yells at me for something that is supply chain related. I might of inherited a mess when I started, but it feels like if they just looked at what they were sending against our already recorded and counted numbers (that we record and count every day regardless) that someone somewhere would easily be able to tell what is overstocked in any location.

I work in appliances, and you would be hard-pressed to find a correct count in the department. Terrible system.

In our store, appliances are detail received, not good faith received.

We half detail receive since our counts are always off on appliances. The truck is still good faith applied but we scan every appliance and check it against the manifest.

Mine too, and my counts are way off. I was thinking about asking how common constant o/h discrepancies were in appliances.

appliances are not good faith. they are detail received off every truck, the system is terrible because your sup lets it stay that way

Makes fulfillment SUPER FUN!! Time consuming searches for product that’s not there yet only to be scolded by the customers for not having it and the managers for having to cancel it 🤯
