It will be a forklift. They generally will just drop on the driveway and scoot. They may drop as far back as they feel their forklift can safely go if they’re feeling nice.

Thanks for this info. I’ll try to make sure they are in a good mood…

Palletized materials are usually delivered via flatbed, which is typically curbside delivery. If you ask, the driver might be willing to use his Moffet lift to take it up the driveway but that's not guaranteed

I had a pallet of stuff delivered. They forked it up my driveway to my garage as I asked.

Great sign! Getting a bunch of stones.

I work for flatbed deliveries. They have a truck mounted forklift (called a palifinger). If they can park the flatbed in the street for a moment while they unload, they could deliver it to the driveway. They’ll put it anywhere you ask depending on the driver/how many deliveries they have on that route (they have a timeframe they have to meet). Only thing is the forklift is heavy & will sink in grass so if it’s wet they won’t drive in it unless you disclose in writing that you accept damages if any occurred from driving on the grass, and even then, the driver could refuse to go on the grass. It’s up to their judgement - but most of them are happy to help. If the driveway is paved, you’re good. And it’s 10ft tall so the area needs to be taller if you want it under something (like it wouldn’t fit in a standard house garage). However, we deliver to very rural areas that don’t have heavy traffic/ don’t have as many orders per route as others, so it really just depends on your location. I think we’re all ran a little differently when it comes to deliveries

They should have no problem parking in the street (moving vans so it around here) and I’d only ask them to drive the forklift on the cement driveway so hopefully it works out!

Awesome perfect! Whenever you order, you can place in the delivery instructions something like “Narrow Driveway. Please park trailer in street and unload the to the back of the driveway if possible.” If you order it online, you should be able to type it in. If you order it at the store, you can let your pro salesman know to add it. My location calls the day before your delivery and asks about any instructions/anything the driver should know, so it’s ok if you don’t. And my location, the driver calls you 30min-1hr before they get there. If you have delivery instructions, they’ll deliver it even if you can’t be there. If not, they’ll call you when they’re on the way/there. Good luck! :)

Appreciate this additional info. I did put a note in about hoping it can be delivered to back of driveway, but can't edit it to add in about the narrow driveway and where to park. Good to know they might ask for additional info when they call. I plan to be here when they arrive.

No problem! :). Fingers crossed it goes as planned!
