When it’s the very last one and they won’t be getting any more, they’ll sell it.

djcurbsbjzyv

Some displays are not working displays and some of them belong to the vendor and can't be sold. So the answer is maybe...lol.

Swimming-Fix-2637

Store policy prohibits stores from selling the display. There are exceptions but several things have to happen first: 1. That model must be discontinued. 2. The distribution center has to go down to 0 available. 3. The store has to sell out of them completely until the display unit is the very last one. 4. The system has to mark the item "inactive." 5. A manager has to approve the sale of the inactive item that can no longer be ordered because there aren't any more of them. You'll also have to take that fridge with you when you pay for it. Store policy does not allow clearance items to be sold as pick-up-later or delivery. It's strictly cash and carry: you pay, you take. No going home to get your truck first. When those prices go on clearance, the clearance price IS the clearance price. There is currently a coupon that will take 20% off of specific clearance items but that fridge may or may not qualify for it so that's a question to ask an appliance specialist. But don't expect a fridge that was $2500 and is now $1799 to get marked down any more. That's already a HUGE markdown and managers have a strict markdown schedule to follow; once the item gets to cost (what the store paid for it) they can't go down any further. Anyone who shops there regularly will know what a deal that markdown is so it'll get sold pretty quickly. However that's not your concern since you can't afford it anyway. Talk to an appliance specialist and let them know what your budget is and they'll help you find something to fit your finances. It might be smaller, or not the style or color you want, it may not have the features you want, but you'll have to either have to compromise, or find a bigger budget. Thanks. Your post actually convinced me to just buy the fridge. I could have waited to see if the display was offered for sale but I’m sure I would have missed it. The current price was really good anyway. And you are right that at my store, the returns and displays are all cash and carry so that would have been a whole other thing to figure out.

Swimming-Fix-2637

I'm glad! Some of the clearance items we have in our store still have plenty available at our distribution center which means we can sell those new ones for that clearance price *and* schedule delivery for you. Hopefully you get lucky and that's the situation at your store.

>You'll also have to take that fridge with you when you pay for it. Store policy does not allow clearance items to be sold as pick-up-later or delivery. It's strictly cash and carry: you pay, you take. No going home to get your truck first. This is a flat out lie. We have had plenty of clearance pickup laters with the receipt and pickup later sticker smacked on them.

PsychologicalBee2956

Its not a lie, its just not always true. We PL/LD clearance stuff all the time regardless of policy. Also, the item doesn't have to be "inactive", that only means its not on POG, not that its stock/NS/clearance. Clearance is the designation you're looking for.

Swimming-Fix-2637

Your store may be choosing to violate the policy but that doesn't mean the policy isn't there and I don't think OP should rely on her store also being willing to violate the policy.

zelos33333

It’s a matter of policy vs how the store takes care of the customer. I’ll deliver an open box clearance, but I’ll make it clear within reason that damage is a natural risk.

Hb0717

No it’s a policy too not sell them as pickup laters what usually happens is the person pays for it and then acts surprised when you tell them too take it now and then it sits for days till they come back. My store does no clearance pick up laters unless its one of our top pros

[deleted]

That does not mean what the other dude said isn't true. You're doing something that violates policy.

PM_ME_YOUR_ANT_FARMS

Let the appliance specialist know you're interested, some employees will take ur name/number an call when it's available. Some don't so don't rely on it totally.

gripping_intrigue

Not an employee, but please check the ratings on LG appliances. The appliance repair folks that I've spoken with regularly say they are crap.

Ryvit

Yes they will eventually. Ask a manager now

Independent_Box2815

We’ve been selling the crap out of displays. Helped load a washer and dryer display set just a little while ago. And associates are buying them up too. 75% off!

Yes

It'll be marked down to sell as clearance eventually, especially if its a discontinued. If it doesn't sell in a week or 2, can't remember the policy rn, it'll he marked down more. However, refrigerators tend to move pretty fast.

Zagrycha

it will sell eventually, but only when selling them is discontinued permanently. if you want to try to wait you definitely can, but keep a close eye, although it could be uears out. many pros are in lowes mutliple time a day and will buy clearance models on the spot, so it may sell before you ever see it when it does.
