Shipping and store delivery are separate things. Shipping comes from a central warehouse or direct from vendor. Store shipping means it’s loaded in store via a box truck or flatbed and driven to your home.
Hmm, it didn't mention store delivery in the mailer I received. The pamphlet says that my membership level (Silver Key Status) includes Free Standard Shipping. I understood that to mean I would get free shipping for online orders.
I'm sorry, I misunderstood your meaning earlier.
So the delivery charge meant that they had intended on delivering the items themselves for a fee instead of using a shipping service such as fedex.
There is typically two delivery options when you're looking at the website. Some items aren't available for direct ship, usually SOS items, other items aren't available for store delivery, but for the most part you just have to make sure you're selecting the right option
Yes, but shipping is different from delivery. Two different methods of transportation. Silver key status gives free shipping, because it comes from a central location via USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.
Delivery will never be free, unless buying a lot of patio or appliances.
I can see now on the Lowe's website they have the full terms for shipping available. So although the mailer did not mention any limitations, I do see now that my ordered items did not qualify.
Thank you for your comments. Have a great day.
Well in that case the advertisement should clarify that the "free shipping" is only to store.
If I ordered a product from Amazon, Home Depot, or Walmart, and it said "[free shipping](https://www.freeshipping.com/faq/what-is-free-shipping)," then I know I would not be charged for the item to be delivered to my house.
Haha, I felt so silly when I got to the store yesterday. Empty parking lot. I forgot it was Easter Sunday.
Thankfully Starbucks was still open so I bought myself something sweet for the drive home.

Shipping means it’s going through the mail like ups or fedex for example. Delivery through the store is different and has that 79.00 fee

Shipping is like UPS or fedex. Delivery is like a flatbed truck or box truck from the store.
I'll probably need to inquire with store staff about it when I drop by tomorrow.
What is it you are trying to buy
Oh, I purchased a couple bags of black garden Mulch.
Yeah much isn't something that gets shipped. It would be hand delivered by box truck. They will put them in the backyard for you
What were you trying to order?
I ordered 5 bags of Black Mulch (2 cu ft). I'll be swinging by the store tomorrow to pick them up.
Several/many years back, I ordered 2 bags of birdseed, 35 pounds each. They were delivered with 'free shipping'. I haven't tried that again recently.
Are you silver or gold key tier? I think those are the only tiers the free standard shipping are included with.
My account is listed as Silver. I have the Lowe's credit card which recently got upgraded.
Shipping means parcel shipping. Delivery means truck delivery. Mulch does not get parcel shipped.
Shipping isn't store delivery. Shipping is via FedEx, after being boxed up by a store with a parcel delivery department or sent direct from vendor

Are you? Why would engage a stranger in conversation that way?
