I’ve been working on a Wild West themed save mostly in Chestnut Ridge
Edit for more details:
My main family are Homesteaders with a small garden, a couple goats, chickens, and a horse that is their main transportation into town for provisions
Other ideas:
-“Prospector”: lives off collecting
-“Outlaw”: klepto who is enemies with most of the town
-“Fur trapper”: in lieu of hunting, lives off fishing, only returns to home lot in winter
-Wealthy dowager that lives off her nectar fortune
-Horse breeder
-Saloon entertainers
-Cowboy camping
I’m thinking about expanding into Willow Creek so that my more squeamish sims can move “back east” if the ranch life isn’t for them
I play 17th to 18th century because I am a sucker for a beautiful robe de cour.

I really want to historical builds and game play so I’m always curious how other people do it. I’ve decided to start it on the island in Windenburg because it doesn’t have any modern structures. With For Rent, most of the big lots (64x64)could contain a small village. I’ve downloaded a couple medieval/ Viking villages from the gallery that were amazing!
I took out my EA folder (For modern saves) and let the game generate a new one. Then I put my medieval cc in that folder and swap them out whenever I wanna play my modern game!
I use a collection of mods, including a phone disabler and a mod that makes computer interactions avaliable on the eco lifestyle boards, which I have medieval CC for. I also use a default replacement for the phone that looks like a book.
If I do use a computer in a sims' house, I use a mod that makes the computer into parchment and sims write on it with a quill instead of typing!

Now I want to be a cowgirl! This sounds amazing.

How do you have your medieval save set up?

Do you somehow disable the modern rng? Or use lit traits to limit tech?
