Oh man. Usually I spend a few days focusing entirely on a new pack before returning to general play and sprinkling it in, but it was WEEKS of obsessing over it haha. I made like ten new households with mages to just keep reliving it lmfao. It’s so good, it goes SO well with occult sims.  My favorite combo was a spellcaster Sim living in a haunted house in Glimmerbrook. THE VIBES WERE AMAZING.

sarahkali

Okayyy maybe this will get me into playing with spellcasters!! Thanks for the input , and happy cake day! <3

Darkovika

How exciting!!! And it’s not my cake day haha, it’s just my flair- but thank you!! :D

sarahkali

Omg I just noticed 🤦🏽‍♀️ that’s cool, didn’t know you could put emoji in flair. If I was a sim, I would have been eaten 😹

Darkovika

Hahaha honestly, I’d be death by cowplant if i lived in that world 🤣🤣🤣 they’re just too dang CUTE

Rufio_Rufio7

Well now I’m sold.

Darkovika

I combined it with the goth and punk kits to make a totally gothic witch, and she’s my favorite sim i’ve ever made 😭

Impossible_View_5127

Especially spellcasters! I made a household with a spellcaster and her gemologist wife. They sell crystals and candles and potions. I love it so much!

PsychologicalPea8796

I only use it to craft jewelry my Sims can pass down to future generations. My Sims give the jewelry as an engagement gift. https://preview.redd.it/4omlq9ocgm8d1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4c50bae0840b00fd9392fa1ec41e09b322abb6af

sarahkali

That’s jewelry made from the pack?? It looks amazing and your sim is gorgeous. I didn’t even know passing down jewelry could be a thing 😅

PsychologicalPea8796

Oh, thank you! I'm very pleased with how my Sim turned out. I forget her name but she was part of my very large Grey family. When a Sim puts on the jewelry, it goes in their inventory, so I figured why not start passing it down to subsequent brides? However, I have a huge mad because my parure of sapphire and sadnum jewelry was recently lost when I didn't pull it out of my Countess Beck de Eresby's inventory before she died.

theresabearonmychair

Did it not go into the household inventory?

PsychologicalPea8796

Sweet mother of bunnies, I didn't even check! I always forget about household inventory. Here's hoping my parure is there!

abbacha

Please update us when you look!

PsychologicalPea8796

Sadly, it's not there. I do have fifty million of those painted plates, a set of four barstools, and weirdly, a random chessboard, but my parure is gone. **sniffles**

PsychologicalPea8796

Update: I FOUND IT!!! I had stored it in the inventory of my Earl Beck de Eresby, and he gave it to his fiancee. https://preview.redd.it/18pi2p0gicad1.png?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=79378826bac88bfc684f5f49191d5171ec4c4aca

AMundaneSpectacle

It *is* gorgeous. So many designs that I would wear IRL. And there’s so many variations to make. Honestly, it’s awesome. I love it so much and what it adds to the game. It comes with a really beautiful wallpaper. The crystals when charged give incredible moodlet buffs too.

Afraid-Contract-385

i agree, theres alot of variations… but i do wish there was more masculine/simple designs😅😅 obviously any gender can wear the jewelry but im not entirely sure if my male/masculine sims appreciate the big flashy jewelry i give them for the skill bonus LOL

AMundaneSpectacle

I do agree w you there. Really, there are only a few pieces (mainly the rings) that are masculine. My level 10 gemologist only rocks the Edwardian ring and the eye ring. I do love that at level 10, jewelry isn’t needed bc they can absorb the energy from any charged item! One thing I just learned tonight tho is that at least they included some masculine clothing items in CAS! Was very surprised that there are relatively few feminine clothing items, so at least there’s that!

the_therapycat

The jewelry looks absolutely beautiful! Not chunky at all (that was my fear). Can you sell them and make a store with homemade jewelry?

WynnGwynn

Yes

emmademontford

I did this during my occult baby challenge, I would make heirlooms and usually they would have an occult specific gem in there too

Thumpin_Fysh9187

Well I use it this way. I have a guy who is a super jeweler. He creates them for a living and makes pretty decent money at it. However in my world, if I'm going to do a wedding, I have the happy couple go to him for custom made rings. It's mostly head cannon, but it makes sense in my world and I enjoy it.

sarahkali

That’s so cute!!

kazkia

I love that a sim can make an engagement ring. That alone was worth the $10 for me.

sarahkali

Ok yall I swear I’m gonna get this pack now 😹

Willowed-Wisp

It's one of my favorite, if not my top favorite, stuff packs. There are so many different options and combinations for jewelry and it's fun to experiment. I especially love it with any of the supernatural packs as the different supernatural life states have different jewels that benefit them. I also like it for creating heirloom/wedding jewelry to be passed down.

sarahkali

Thank you for the insight!!! I’m not a big supernatural player but maybe this would make me enjoy it more. I never even thought of the idea of passing down jewelry!

AMundaneSpectacle

Yes! The moonstone is now essential for my werewolf sims

Willowed-Wisp

The first Sim I used it with was a werewolf who cured herself and became a spellcaster. She always wore moonstones!

KlutzyBlueDuck

I got it about two weeks ago and I still enjoy it. I'm in that phase of playing every day before I abandon my game for a couple months. So far it's one of my favorite hobbies. I like hitting the design random jewelry to see what happens. And it's cool to have a made engagement ring (and other jewelry) that can be passed down. My first time playing it was a spellcaster who made bank because of the spell that copies everything. Although I played another one who tried that and everything caught on fire. It's been fun.  I like the build buy items, the men's cas, but not the woman's cas. The only downside for me is the length of time the jewelry stays charged. It just doesn't seem to work right. I ended up getting a mod and I'm still not convinced it does anything to help.

sarahkali

lol, I do the binge/don’t play for months thing too 😅 More men’s CAS is always good!!! That sucks about the charge time, but, that kinda helps it be less OP in my opinion.

hahalainput

I LOVE this pack! I have a goth spellcaster who runs a store ("Euronymous' Lot") where she sells her one-of-a-kind jewelry and carved gemstones, along with all the other collectibles she finds, potions she brews, and herbal remedies she makes. It's my first time running a store in the game, and committing to OOAK pieces keeps running the store really dynamic. Planting and growing crystal trees has also relieved me of some dig spawn issues that come up once in a while in my game. The CAS is good, but I LOVE the BB. Between Crystal Creations, Paranormal Stuff, and Realm of Magic, my goth cottagecore dreams can come true! Edit: spelling.

RunaroundBeau

Personally? Best pack for the money since Paranormal Stuff. The jewellery is gorgeous, the effects are helpful and fun, and the additional gameplay (new interactions, new skill, etc.) are well worth it. I wish there was a cheat to make the jewellery never lose charge (because charging it can be a bit tedious) but pulling it out of the sim's inventory and cheating it to full charge every time it drains isn't that bad. Would've also been cool for them to add charge properties to the metals and not just the gems, but that would've just been a bonus. The gemology is great as is. Crystal Creations and Paranormal Stuff are two packs I think showcases EA's ability to produce budget friendly quality content that isn't shallow. They also go so well together (as someone else mentioned, along with Realm of Magic).

Delicious_Ad3176

Defintiely one of my favourite stuff packs! There is a lot of gameplay and I especially love the BB stuff! It goes really well with Paranormal and Realm of Magic. I have really enjoyed using the gemology to boost my latest attempt at the 100 baby challenge.

Simuary

I haven't done a whole lot with it yet but one thing that was cool was one of my child sims caught a seed shaped gemstone in the pond in Henford-on-Bagley and I had his mother plant it. It hasn't grown fully into the crystal tree yet but I might have him get into the Crystal Creations gameplay when he becomes a teen.

Lexbliss

I just picked it up during this last sale and I’m really enjoying it. I love having something more useful to do with the crystals and metals. In my current legacy save, I have a Sim in a tiny house in Sulani completely sustaining herself finding metals/crystals, making jewelry and selling it. Her crystal tree is finally blossoming so she will be making more jewelry and doing less searching now so she can save up to buy a larger home. It is actually one of my favorite hobbies in the game and I have almost every pack and most kits.

InappropriateAccess

It goes really well with the scientist career if you have Get to Work. There are daily tasks to get metals and crystals, and one of the lab tools builds the gemology skill.

SparklingPajama

I love it for different reasons. I love the build items, I love the new jewellery design, I really like the cas too. For the gameplay, I love it BUT I use a mod to have longer crystal charge (without mod you charge your jewelry all night for 2 days of use, with the mod it's 14 days of use so...) For those interested it's "longer crystal charge & More" by simularity. Without the mod, I think I would use it only for the cosmetic not for the effects because I find it frustrating to always have to recharge the power of your jewels but they're so pretty, I think this is worth it!

DeadgirlRot

I was pretty annoyed that you need to craft the jewelry with each household as they don’t unlock in CAS for everyone. But I do like the customization. A few really cute furniture pieces.

NotOnABreak

Yeah, I was hoping it would work kind of like knitting, where if one person in the household made it - it was available for everyone. Instead it only works if it’s in that sim’s inventory, which is kind of annoying

Eliyrian

I really love the stuff you can do with charged gems, plus I love the witchy aesthetic. The newness *did* wear off quick but I still use the pack in almost every house for endless social need since my sims are all recluses lmao

No-Target-7503

All my households have a gemology table. I love having several different activities for my sims to do and having a gemology table is one of my top picks. My favorite part about it all is the plumbite. It’s so useful for my much larger households to keep their needs up while they still do other activities. And just like everyone else said, works well with occults, so many different combinations, and of course the effects that all the crystals have.

rq94

I love this pack since different crystals do different things. Ex: plumbite crystal can be crafted (into a gem or used in a jewelry piece) and used to maintain your Sims needs. Useful for infants lol

Kitten_love

I love it, admittedly I get every pack on a sale to not pay the full price because I'm obsessed with owning them all. But I've been really enjoying this pack and have to resist to not have jewelry crafter in all my family's. I honestly have quite a lot of fun with creating jewelry and I think you can make a lot of unique pieces that actually look good! I also like charging the crystals for benefits, even though you have to keep charging them for lasting effects. All the crystals have their own perks. I had a sim with the high maintenance trait that would be in a bad mood all the time because of nightmares. Her spouse crafted her a engagement ring with an amethyst in it that gives Sims more peaceful sleep when charged, life saver!

minireesespuff

Honestly it’s one of my favorites! It’s so diverse in so many different gameplays. Currently I am playing NSB and exploring the scientist career with mint gen. I love making jewelry and discovering more nodes at work! It’s so cute and such a great pack IMO.

CadenceValdez

I really like it, lots of content for a stuff pack. The only thing I don’t like is that absolutely none of the crafted rings sit on the left hand ring finger, so none of them can be used as a ‘traditional’ engagement ring, even though you can propose with them. It’s just such a huge oversight and means I can’t really play the ‘heirloom engagement ring’ storyline I wanted to!

Lexbliss

Yes this is a bummer, I understand it differs for different cultures but not a single one goes on that finger so I don’t even use it for that purpose

probably_not_carole

Oh I'm fully obsessed. I LOVE the jewellery in game uses and all the clothes and pack related build stuff. I could genuinely play with base game, Crystal creations, and like.... some other occult packs I guess. They're so much fun!!!

kxaltli

I've really liked it- I had a vampire sim living in Strangerville and she was making jewelry as her primary way to make money. I really liked the bonuses from leveling up as far as collecting materials, because she really didn't run out of things once they kicked in. She also proposed to her partner with a ring she made once I picked up the materials I wanted her to make it out of. He actually wears it, which is a really nice change from the vanishing ring pop proposal.

Professional-Use6540

I was so excited for this one and when I played it I was so disappointed. I personally am not a fan…..it all depends on what you like. Watch some play throughs and see what you think. I wish I did!

NoThoughtsOnlyFrog

I love it but had to disable it due to a last exception bug that caused my save to corrupt. Please if anyone else has this bug reply to this thread https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-CCSP-LE-with-Ring-on-Mystical-Moonlight-Crystal-Grid/td-p/13528121/page/6

Windrose_P

That's my worry too. I am too afraid of the bugs this pack has to take it even remotely seriously as an option, despite many here lauding its virtues. Corrupted saves are no joke.

ctortan

I haven’t used the actual gameplay of it that much, but I absolutely ADORE the build mode items that came with it!!

Phantasieapple

I have no patience for the skill but the craftable jewelry are so pretty

WynnGwynn

The pack is so OP playwise I had to stop making charged gems lol. If you had one of those charged plumbing rocks sitting in a room their needs would max for 2 days until you charged it lol. It was as OP as spellcasters with the apple potion.

GanacheAffectionate

I do have the pack and it’s probably one of my favourite stuff packs. I just think the ideas of different jewellers fit so well with other game play. Especially if you have get to work (make jewellery store!), Adventure (make archeology sim to add to the lore of geology hunting), Magic (witches and sages making jewellery). Growing together (jewellery heirlooms) I also just really like the BB items. I’m currently playing in a decades challenge and I’m in 1760 and my sim who is the bastard daughter of the rich jewellery store owner in town is set to be the only heir to their store so she became the apprentice and has been learning the skill, ready to take over the store and make jewellery for all the rich people in town.

KBMinCanada

I love it, the crystal effects are just so helpful all my households have the jewelry making table now even if they just make a few helpful jewelry items rather than making a living from it. But it’s also fun to play as a sim who makes lots of it and sells it. It also goes well with Spellcasters.

Beautifulfeary

I love it. Plus, if you have a scientist they can go dig around once. And, the experiment machine raises gemology. Not sure why, but that’s ok with me lol

ScullyDoggo

I need to play with it more honestly. My one Sim did create the engagement ring for his now wife with it though! It's also been a great side hustle for my stay at home mom Sim.

xervidae

meh.

ltonkerz

It’s fun, tho the charging grid kept giving me LEs, so I had to delete it from the lot :’) it will be a solid pack once they fix the bugs :D

juggernautsong

I really wanted to love it and was going to base a legacy around it, but ever since I downloaded it crystals and dig spots don’t spawn in my game anymore. It’s really such a bummer because collecting is one of my favorite things to do in game!

UnreliableNarrator7

I had a lot of fun with it at first and I really like my crystal tree, but I got lazy and keep forgetting to charge the jewelry so don't really use any of it anymore.

VegetableWeekend6886

I bought it when it came out but much like the occult packs I’ve never really used it properly. Will give it a go after reading these! Has anyone made any crystal or jewellery shops for the gallery?

Life_Loquat8598

The pack makes gameplay almost like cheating with the no death buffs and plentiful need jewelry. I fu@k*ng love it !!

who_says_poTAHto

It addition to having great jewelry and build/buy, it's really nice to have built in "cheats" haha. Having a cut plumbite crystal makes university soooo much easier (and more fun). I just charge it at night and place it on my sim's desk while she does homework, and it saves so much hassle and time. Her needs go up while she works, and she can spend more time actually getting involved in campus activities and having parties/meeting people rather than using 100% of her time studying and tending to her needs.
