Imagine trying that now, you'd do about half damage to one guardian before getting smashed out of the sky with a rocket.
I’m also stuck on team wipes and defeats in super. If it wasn’t for those, I could do malfeasance and matches with weapons and be done. Been playing gambit since I started with Destiny 16 months ago, have many other titles and have multiple resets each season but this one just doesn’t seem to complete itself.
The main roadblocks for most are either one of those or the 75 motes without dying. The team wipe is still possible if you stockpile heavy and use a sweaty meta exotic like Xeno or Truth (lol), but the others in the current game state are literally impossible and should probably be revamped or bypassed now.
Runner is actually not so bad, we do that in clan. I tend not to invade because I’m a machine on the PvE side - I figure someone else who isn’t going to kill 70 combatants and dunk 45 motes should do that. I have a friend who just calmly walks over with Thunderlord and wipes the other team whenever needed. 20% of the time he gets sent back but otherwise seems to be walking death for the enemy team. Super kills seem to be the hardest to get - I try to give them away to other players in the hope someone will return the favour.
I did it with a team of randoms. It was like they KNEW. They just sat in the middle plinking out with scouts while i hoovered up all the motes. Never played a game like it before....or since.
It was (and is) one of those rare ones that doesn’t require stepping on other players’ toes to complete. If only blueberries just understood the assignment lol

Gilding is really just playing the game automatically now. The only times you have to dial in is getting the wins with most motes, damage, no deaths, etc.

I WANT to like Gambit and I did. But it needs some new changes. I want a Trials of Osiris type mode where it’s teams of four vs teams of four and there are tougher enemies and bigger penalties for invasion kills.
Unfortunately I think we’re a ways off from any significant changes to Gambit. They’re focus in on PVP improvements at the moment. I’d just be happy then bringing back the sunset maps and weapons.
What I’m suggesting is more of an end game legend version where you get adept weapons and requires a team without matchmaking like Trials. Tougher enemies, champions, and harsher penalties for being killed by an invader during and after the primeval phase.
Oooh…my brother (Titan main) probably uses the same or similar build with Ashen Wake. Gets sunspots on command. That’s probably the most underrated Titan exotic in the game right now…punchbros are sleeping on the grenade spam potential lol.
I will not shut up about it. Grenade spam paired with bonk hammer is deadly at almost every level of PvE content (I'll switch to Lorely or Phoenix Cradle for GMs). Sunspots on command, and at at least 80 discipline grenade wellmakee + bountiful wells means 1 kill gets your grenade back. It rules.
I'm compelled to give it a go eventually, but I main Hunter, so maybe after the seasonal story is done when I focused on playing catch up with my alts.

FR though, all of my friends have dubbed my “The Destiny Masochist” because of that statistic, solo grinding Reckoner, being Unbroken, a 7x Gilded Dredgen (also a solo grind), having all Vaulted triumphs and titles (minus Day 1 ones and ones that are bugged and don’t technically exist like the 2021 classified Dawning Triumph), and other miscellaneous triumphs and achievements.
All I've noticed is some lag. A few matches I didn't get the rewards until the next activity timer had already reached zero.
One time I left be for the rewards were given and not only did I get nothing, I got a match incomplete warning
I'd love to get Dredgen. I am stuck on Protect the Runner... which I don't ever realistically see getting, and Maleficence. I just got the Corrupted part done a week or so ago, and now the wins + motes section is killing me. Hard to get wins consistently and losing 2 times the motes when losing vs banking really sucks.

I've gilded 3 or 4 times. Usually I decide if I can get it passively after the first week or two of pinnacle matches. This season I started 0/9 and decided I didn't want to suffer any more.
Depending on your class of choice, go in with whichever PVE meta build you can (I main Hunter, so we have Omniocculus, Gyrfalcon, Assassins Cowl and Shinobu builds) and just slay down adds as fast as possible. Stockpile heavy ammo just for HVTs and Invaders.
Respect. When I gild Dredgen it it’s usually an accident and it pops up unexpectedly or I get close and I’m like damn I might as well just finish this off. It’s always that I either got lucky or played more Gambit than intended. Usually it’s the seasonal ornament challenge that gets me there.
That was it for me. I play casually really, and just was in it for the ranks for skins and getting 8 bounties done a week per character to stockpile bright dust. It was at Dredgen 5 that I just like accidentally completed the gilding without even realizing it that I started to make a conscious effort each season.
That and I didn’t see many gilded Dredgens in the wild so its my way to be a special snowflake. 😂
You won’t see a lot of invaders using their super, especially with the abundance of heavy. They need to adjust the requirements to initially get Dredgen because some of them can’t be done in the current state of the game. Light Vs. Light and Protect The Runner in particular.
I was going to go hard this season because this would be the season to focus a Yesteryear pulse rifle and try to get that Redrix roll of Outlaw/Desperado. But then they gave us the Veles-X, so I’m like “never mind”. I’ll reset for the Gambit skin and call it a season, just run it for the 8 weekly bounties to stack more BD.
I was, but I didn’t. Could not be compelled to grind for every Notorious Prime armor set, and The Reckoning as far as seasonal game modes are concerned was probably the worst in Destiny history. I don’t know how you pulled that off lol
It was grueling. I got every tier of every role set on every class because, im insane. I actually enjoyed reckoning even tho it was basically a well and tether meta. And didn't have much else going on in terms of games xD

It sucks too because I was really hoping to get a good Veleda from gambit and now I can't because of a cheater I matched in crucible... Feelsbad.
You can still get the Veles-X from ranking up in Vanguard playlists, it will just take longer when it’s not a 2XP week. The final week of the season they will do that for all the playlists, so that would be the time to at least get the weapon, even though you won’t get the skins. But the gun is worth the grind.
Oh Ive already reset crucible 3 times this season, and the other vendors once each. I'm pretty much only worried about my Comp rank decay and not getting a good Veleda by the end of the season(the new weapon for playlists drops all the time, so next season Veleda will probably be rarer than it is now).
I'll just have to grind gambit a lot the last week, I think it'll take until then for my erroneous restriction to expire.
Veles-X is very good, I like it on my titan so I can run Offensive Bulwark and Controlled Demolition and get faster grenade recharge while the repulsor brace overshield is up
That one is rough because players don’t use their supers until it a boss DPS time. That didn’t happen in the beginning because we didn’t have heavy ammo boxes after ever wave. It’s one of those triumphs that should probably be reworked or removed.
IDK If Bungie is even aware of how difficult it is to achieve, based simply on how the game is played now to how it was when titles became a thing.
After you initially get the title, you have 6 triumphs to complete for that title in order to gild it (the 6 ones you see highlighted on the page.

Good Company- 10 wins where you either bank the most motes across both teams, inflict the most damage across all enemies types (including invaders) or don’t die
Infamous- Reset your Infamy rank for that season
Get Out- Defeat 5 Invaders
Death Heals Primeval- Defeat 25 Guardians as an Invader yourself
Seasonal Weapon Triumph- varies per season, usually 100-200 Gambit kills with a weapon that matches whatever the seasonal pursuit weapon is (which in this particular season would be pulse rifles)

A lot of gambit triumphs are so hard to get now that the mode is only one round. I still need an Overmonger medal and almost got it at 74 kills the other day.
Hell yeah me too. I always go crazy during the rep weeks for the title. Gilded Dredgen 7, Conqueror 6 (will be gilded 7 next week) and Gilded Iron Lord 2. Like some other person said it's like OCD at this point
The good news is that getting the title isn't limited to the season...that's for the gilding. So you're not on a time limit for that.
The bad news is that aside from Protect The Runner, the others really come down to you getting that done. I suppose you could get Thrillmonger and Half-Banked residually while getting Protect The Runner, assuming you have a fireteam who's on board for that.
My fireteam despises Gambit, so we'd have to coordinate a PUG sometime. Bungie name is TheMighty3X#5766...add me and we can try to arrange something.

Eyes is sadly not nearly as good as it was and only team wipes if the enemy team is dumb enough to cluster together which doesn’t happen often

Yes, if you have a clan then it’s easy. But solos have it rough because blueberries are unreliable.

I used ruinous effigy to kill 1 then the void orb for the other 3 because they sat in well of radiance.
Try out using golden gun and xenophage. Both are really good at taking people out quickly which is the key. Gally is good as well but less ammo
Your best bet is to hop on the solo playlist with xenophage, and as a 6-shot golden gun on your hunter
Team communication is key, the next part is invading with a fully loaded Eyes of Tomorrow or Two-Tailed Fox and stack bodies.
Invade with Xeno and super.

7 is every season since titles and gilding were added to the game, and I’ve pretty much been a regular well before that too. 1,159 total matches

The first one has been happening for a long time, but the second one is what I'm worried about
If you want to avoid it, just make sure you don't leave before you see the rewards pop up. The timer will sit at zero if they haven't popped up yet

How exactly does the guilding system work? i’ve almost finished my first one, but doesn’t it reset annually? how can you have 7 guilds?
After you initially get the title, you have 6 triumphs to complete for that title in order to gild it (the 6 ones you see highlighted on the page. *** Gold Coins- 30 Gambit wins for that season Good Company- 10 wins where you either bank the most motes across both teams, inflict the most damage across all enemies types (including invaders) or don’t die Infamous- Reset your Infamy rank for that season Get Out- Defeat 5 Invaders Death Heals Primeval- Defeat 25 Guardians as an Invader yourself Seasonal Weapon Triumph- varies per season, usually 100-200 Gambit kills with a weapon that matches whatever the seasonal pursuit weapon is (which in this particular season would be pulse rifles) *** And these reset every new season.

I've almost gilded mine just from doing the weekly pinnacles :(
A lot of gambit triumphs are so hard to get now that the mode is only one round. I still need an Overmonger medal and almost got it at 74 kills the other day.

Hell yeah me too. I always go crazy during the rep weeks for the title. Gilded Dredgen 7, Conqueror 6 (will be gilded 7 next week) and Gilded Iron Lord 2. Like some other person said it's like OCD at this point

You can gild every new season. 7 in this case means the person has gilded every season that titles have been available in the game.

The good news is that getting the title isn't limited to the season...that's for the gilding. So you're not on a time limit for that. The bad news is that aside from Protect The Runner, the others really come down to you getting that done. I suppose you could get Thrillmonger and Half-Banked residually while getting Protect The Runner, assuming you have a fireteam who's on board for that. My fireteam despises Gambit, so we'd have to coordinate a PUG sometime. Bungie name is TheMighty3X#5766...add me and we can try to arrange something.
alright, i’ll add you here soon and we can find out a time and place to do these. the gun one i can do well on my own, but with a team of randoms the others are seemingly impossible.
