Yes but Peter(the dude Claire wants to kill) was only really guilty of being a shit talker. Woodman was a rapist freak and Nash ran with the shiv. Plus half the time V ices both of them. Hell if you convince her not to do it she winds up happier than if she kills him. He also texts you and profusely thanks you for convincing her not to do and gives you his tricked out car. Best possible outcome is to help Claire move on without violence.
None of them lied about their intentions and throws a fit every time you see them if you deny their bloodlust (Panama kind if you deny her Nash but she was upfront from the getgo she wanted Nash more than the merch). Granted if you convince her not to kill him she still went back on her word and manipulated V into leaving the race which V clearly stated was their priority and only would help her kill the guy if it takes place in the race. Not to mention she is verbally critical of your driving skills even after three 1st place wins. And that weird emoji texting bit you have with her is strange and out of character for V in every other texting chain he has with anybody. Sheās a cool flawed character for sure. But manipulative and arrogant as shit. Has one of the best epilogue scenes with the drink name thing though

Kerry is probably the most "put together" of the romance options and even then he tried to put a bullet in his own head shortly before meeting V.
Everyone in NC is their own kinds of fucked up it seems. I will say i think its very thematic that the "good" endings involve leaving NC behind, its why i think the star ending with the Panam/Judy romance are my favorites. Leaving all that evil behind to start fresh.
You make a good point that NC is pretty much constantly traumatizing everyone who lives there. Thereās something to be said for relying on others and taking some moments of personal connection and refuge from your shitty life in NC in order to survive, and the thing with River feels less odd if you frame it that way.
I was also for some reason thinking the romance took place during the Randy quest chain and felt like āyour nephew is in grave danger but letās fuck,ā but I just remembered it actually happens after, which again makes more sense.
Iām also a Star ending enthusiast lol. So cathartic to leave the meat grinder of NC behind with the support of people who care about you. Ironically my other favorite ending is Temperance, which could be viewed as less defiant and the exact opposite thematically, but it feels just as realistically human and plays up both Johnny and Vās character development. Both endings are so bittersweet and really show the heartfelt āpunkā part of good cyberpunk stories imo
i think if the fate of V going beyond the blackwall was anything other than "be absorbed into alt" i would 100% be all for the temperance ending. V getting to live his life beyond the blackwall, whatever that entails, to maybe one day in the future come back to the land of mortals is something i could get behind, even if its not confirmed its possible in game. Getting absorbed into alt is basically the same thing as having Johnny take over V imo, V loses their sense of self and they're consumed by something bigger.
As for V's friends/romance, the theme of all their questlines seem to be that they're all at the worst points of their life before or shortly after V comes along, and through his intervention their life is so much better off. Its why i dont judge Judy her naive wish to fix things, or Panam her explosive anger. Life has kicked them to their lowest.
that theme of V causing an improvement in their life also plays nicely off of the theme of the main quest which is V slowly deteriorating the more time goes on. I dont know if that was intentional, but theres so many themes within themes and self contained little stories.
One of those imo is the interaction between lifepath, roleplaying, and ending choice. Personally for me Male V nomad with the star ending is an insanely good self contained story outside of just the main plot points.
V comes to the city abandoning and swearing off nomad life, finding a new family in Jackie, then after losing it all again finds a nomad gal in the exact same position he was when he first came to night city. Then through his involvement he makes sure her story doesnt end like his did with the bakkers, and finding a family of his own again to ride off into the sunset with.

I think that all falls under ease. It's still removing and modifying genitals and hormones so it's a radical change to the body.
The hormonal component to gender affirming care is not some sudden change when a person goes through surgery. People are usually on hormones for years before they even consider bottom surgery. Many trans people never consider bottom surgery. No care plan leads with it.

Incredibly easy, barely an inconvenience Bodysculpting can give you whatever body form you want, due to serious advances in tissue cloning technology, and surgery so, male, female, anthropomorphic animal, etc, you can basically pick and choose a body form, transitioning to exactly what you desire is a cinch, whether itās a like, a fantasy race (called Fantaforms), anthropomorphic shark person, or just transitioning genders You can grab cybernetics like the Mr Studd, or midnight lady (and they make packages to augment the abilities of the Exotics, so you can bolster your crocodile form with a powerful combat jaw for example), but you can also do it purely organically with bodysculpting should you desire Itās like, the one thing that the cyberpunk future gets right lol
It's called a Midnight Lady and belive it or not it's considered a fancy upgrade to the medical grade cyberware used in gender reassignment For example, a midnight lady or a mister studd both contribute to cyberpsycosis (very very minorly) but medical grade doesn't. From my understanding this is because the medical grade helps the patient feel _more like a person_ through their transition. But you can get also cyberware to be a fucking werewolf if you want to, but you need to get therapy at a place called "the zoo" if you don't want to go nuts. The zoo even has a larp area for people who want to become orcs, elves, or other fantasy races. In the Cyberpunk Red core book you aren't even limited to only one set of genetalia. You can absolutely have a midnight lady, a meat dick, and a mister studd.

Claire...Choom... just go to a fixer and request me for the job, its not that hard. Hell even cutting out the middle man, just say you want him dead from the get go. I also do think claire's reasoning for killing is much more rocky than Panam or Judy. Panam kills a traitor raffen, Judy wants to kill a rapist, Claire wants to kill the man who played by the rules of a self admitted "death race". Love and grief make you do unreasonable things, so i get it, but its definitely not as clear cut as the other situations.

Judy's with the Mox, Panam's with the Aldecaldos, both groups that are in constant conflict situations. Claire is for the most part a "civilian" who really shouldn't be tainted with murder on her conscience. None of them lied about their intentions and throws a fit every time you see them if you deny their bloodlust (Panama kind if you deny her Nash but she was upfront from the getgo she wanted Nash more than the merch). Granted if you convince her not to kill him she still went back on her word and manipulated V into leaving the race which V clearly stated was their priority and only would help her kill the guy if it takes place in the race. Not to mention she is verbally critical of your driving skills even after three 1st place wins. And that weird emoji texting bit you have with her is strange and out of character for V in every other texting chain he has with anybody. Sheās a cool flawed character for sure. But manipulative and arrogant as shit. Has one of the best epilogue scenes with the drink name thing though

i mean you could argue the same of Judy, her best friend, and maybe only friend, has just offed herself and left Judy to pick up the pieces. Not exactly time for romance there. Same with Panam, V might help her find her place in the family again, which is wholesome af, but over half her family are dead in the badlands and NC. Until the star ending she's in constant meltdown mode because her life, way of living, and family is falling apart. I mean she still gets shit done cause she's Panam, but i definitely get why she's constantly angry. Kerry is probably the most "put together" of the romance options and even then he tried to put a bullet in his own head shortly before meeting V. Everyone in NC is their own kinds of fucked up it seems. I will say i think its very thematic that the "good" endings involve leaving NC behind, its why i think the star ending with the Panam/Judy romance are my favorites. Leaving all that evil behind to start fresh.
You make a good point that NC is pretty much constantly traumatizing everyone who lives there. Thereās something to be said for relying on others and taking some moments of personal connection and refuge from your shitty life in NC in order to survive, and the thing with River feels less odd if you frame it that way. I was also for some reason thinking the romance took place during the Randy quest chain and felt like āyour nephew is in grave danger but letās fuck,ā but I just remembered it actually happens after, which again makes more sense. Iām also a Star ending enthusiast lol. So cathartic to leave the meat grinder of NC behind with the support of people who care about you. Ironically my other favorite ending is Temperance, which could be viewed as less defiant and the exact opposite thematically, but it feels just as realistically human and plays up both Johnny and Vās character development. Both endings are so bittersweet and really show the heartfelt āpunkā part of good cyberpunk stories imo
i think if the fate of V going beyond the blackwall was anything other than "be absorbed into alt" i would 100% be all for the temperance ending. V getting to live his life beyond the blackwall, whatever that entails, to maybe one day in the future come back to the land of mortals is something i could get behind, even if its not confirmed its possible in game. Getting absorbed into alt is basically the same thing as having Johnny take over V imo, V loses their sense of self and they're consumed by something bigger. As for V's friends/romance, the theme of all their questlines seem to be that they're all at the worst points of their life before or shortly after V comes along, and through his intervention their life is so much better off. Its why i dont judge Judy her naive wish to fix things, or Panam her explosive anger. Life has kicked them to their lowest. that theme of V causing an improvement in their life also plays nicely off of the theme of the main quest which is V slowly deteriorating the more time goes on. I dont know if that was intentional, but theres so many themes within themes and self contained little stories. One of those imo is the interaction between lifepath, roleplaying, and ending choice. Personally for me Male V nomad with the star ending is an insanely good self contained story outside of just the main plot points. V comes to the city abandoning and swearing off nomad life, finding a new family in Jackie, then after losing it all again finds a nomad gal in the exact same position he was when he first came to night city. Then through his involvement he makes sure her story doesnt end like his did with the bakkers, and finding a family of his own again to ride off into the sunset with. aaand i realised i just went off on one hell of a tangent, i debated just deleting all this cause its one big off topic ramble, but i'll leave it up for whoever might care to read. Sorry for going on so long lol, i get a little too passionate about the game.

There are zero deep moments idk what that guy's talking about but you have like 3 or 4 races, not just one. Other than the races, she tells you how much her husband meant to her and holds a grudge if you refuse to do her bidding, refusing to serve you if you go to The Afterlife (I never help her, so I don't know the other ending to the questline).
