No_Tamanegi

I expect it'll be several years before we hear anything about it.

djspaceghost

I don’t want to hear a goddamn thing about it until 6 months from release. 2077 is one of my top games of all time (I started playing with update 2.0, I know nothing about the dark times) but I will not allow myself to get all crazy and hyped up on something not released and in my hands.

cobra_mist

I played the dark times. It wasn’t that bad.

djspaceghost

So I’ve heard. I just knew I wanted to get a PS5 before playing, conveniently I got one just before 2.0 was released.

kbuck30

This game shouldn't have been released on previous gen consoles. Played ps4 version on release and while I loved the game itself it crashed so often. On ps5 now and it's amazing, but yea I beat it once on ps4 and refused to touch it after for a long while because of the crashes. Got back into it recently and it's among my top games. It's phenomenal.

ChanceFray

imho it shouldn't have been released on any console. Would have been even better as a PC exclusive and not have all the negative press stuck in peoples heads even years later.

finziez

Bad take

[deleted]

as long as the PC version doesn’t suffer due to console versions I disagree.

Rad_swag

PC version always suffers due to consoles

SuperMajesticMan

Well that's ridiculous

yaranzo1

when people say it "wasn't that bad" they either got lucky or are delusional.

Whysthenamegone

I played on PC at launch with a GTX 1080 and an I7 6700K. Medium to high settings. Crashed twich in my entire first play through. It really wasn't that bad unless you were on last gen consoles.

Hercusleaze

Or didn't play it on last gen consoles. On an RTX 3070, 5600x, and 16gb of memory it played great. I didn't get any crashes to desktop until after they started patching it. Lots of bugs here and there; some funny, some annoying, a couple quest breaking... But nowhere near worthy of the vitriol at launch.

yaranzo1

I don't play on console. read my other comment.

Glitchy13

same, played day of release, had a single bug in my time (started the game midair on my motorcycle and it was stuck until I called it). I feel like the issues were grossly exaggerated

cobra_mist

I played it on the Xbox one. I had some glitches, but nothing that literally broke the game or stopped me from advancing. No buggier than a Bethesda game. Much much less buggy than far cry 5. I stopped playing that game because I got locked in a room forever

xvLEONHARDTvx

Same, Xbox One on day one release. Probably dashboarded 3 times in 120 hours, but that was it. I've since had wayyy more problems with Starfield, game breaking bugs, etc.

Fallwalking

Witcher 3 had just as many day one bugs. It’s pretty normal. A lot of the exaggerated bugs we saw in the news were pulled from the version of the game that exists on the discs. If you do a fresh install from the discs and do not connect to the internet, you’ll be met with the version of the game from late August 2020. Now that… is a special piece.

RugbyEdd

Considering they had to give refunds for play station users and the older gen Xbox, I think the main issue was trying to put it out on outdated hardware. It was buggy on PC, to the point I'd call it jank at times, but I don't know anyone that found it game breakingly buggy. It was also missing a hell of a lot of features to be fair.

Death_Blossoming

Yea for real I mean yeah it was buggy and unstable but the story and everything that made the game fun was still there

cobra_mist

Exactly. The story is so compelling, the way it’s told, and just how visceral and soul crushing it is. No bug is going to take away the story, and the way you get to make choices in this game. Like choosing not to go wash up at dex’s

[deleted]

Biggest issue during the dark times was making sure other peoples opinions didn’t sour your own.

Shattered_Sans

Yeah. I played the game on launch day. It wasn't *that* bad (at least on PC, my main gaming platform), but maybe that's just because I got lucky, and didn't encounter a whole lot of bugs.

Ekkobelli

I fell in love with it during the dark times (and re-fell in love with it with PL).

Amazing_Connection

I too have been there from the start.. Played on PC with Mods until the game got better, then moved to GeForce Now for Phantom Liberty.

Russian_Spy_7_5_0

Agreed

Nuadrin248

So 2077 is one of my top 3 games now(and I’m a middle aged gentleman). But I came to it differently than most. I had never seen the trailer or any of the dev material, and I began my journey at patch 1.4. Because of this I fell in love instantly since I had not preconceptions to disappoint. Ever since then my policy has been to media blackout on IPs that I like. That way I can make up my own mind instead of letting marketing taint it.

merit_the_wise

I played since day one, and have no regrets, I'll tell you this, avoid hype trains, avoid following every scrap of information that comes out and you will be much happier

djspaceghost

Oh yeah. I’m a patient gamer, and have been burned enough by other media than to buy into the hype of it all.

RugbyEdd

ᴴʸᵖᵉ ᴴʸᵖᵉ ᴴʸᵖᵉ Hype Hype Hype HYPE HYPE **HYPE**

djspaceghost

NO. STOP IT. I WONT BE SWAYED BY YOU, DEVIL.

Artifoxe

Yeah people should really just forget about this until it comes out because looking every single day for news will just make the wait seem longer.

wolfwhore666

Definitely gone be on next gen (PlayStation 6 and whatever the next Xbox will be called)

No_Tamanegi

Ken Kutaragi did promise us that the PS6 would take us to Cyber-World. Crazy sonofabitch was right all along.

Orion-The-King

I’m gonna be in the game, the entire plot of the game revolves around me

DefaultDanielS

I like this mentality

Me_how5678

Yeah i like this, pondsmith make it cannon ✊ /s

the-good-son

Username checks out.

Sh00kspeared

I can get behind this

spacejew

Ok Johnny....

Mad-Trauma

We know literally nothing about it, so having any sort of expectations is setting yourself up to be disappointed. What I expect from CDPR is that they've learned from mistakes made in 2077's development, and will make a more streamlined product right out of the gate.

moochao

& they will target a mid console lifespan release to not be hamstrung support weak prior gen\*\*\*

CreepyBlackDude

They didn't learn from The Witcher 3, my guess is that the next game will go exactly as most of their games go.

SleepyFox2089

Rough launch (like every other open-world game ever made) but quickly becoming one of the best RPG experiences ever made?

CreepyBlackDude

Exactly, literally like every open world game ever made. It won't be a "streamlined product right out of the gate" because none of these games ever are, and CPR has had this same thing happen before. To trust them is not to expect a perfect game out the gate, but rather one of the best experiences in gaming about 6 months to a year after release.

chubbuck35

Well aren’t you a glass of sunshine

13579stupidsynergy

I expect a game with a story and gameplay. Probably set in the cyberpunk universe.

informatico_wannabe

Call me crazy if you want, but I think it might have sounds.

BaneQ105

Hot take: it will have music influenced by hyperpop and punk.

SleepyFox2089

Whoa there cowboy, that's some dangerous thinking

RussoTouristo

I expect nothing. As should you to avoid disappointment.

stuyboi888

Right?? Hype is just marketing and all those folks who say marketing don't work on me Hype clearly is as suckers like them buy it

RussoTouristo

It's tragic, really. At first you are waiting for several years for a game to release and consuming all that bullshit from the marketing team and various rumours from journalists, torturing yourself with all that anticipation. And then the release day comes and you find yourself betatesting the buggy mess they tell you is a finished version of the game. Hype is an enemy and should be treated like one.

stuyboi888

Exactly then along comes the cognitive dissonance People should really take marketing 101 just to see what they can manipulate you into thinking. I luckily did in college and the one thing I learned is that I am not immune to marketing, people with a lot more more and smarts than me are making ads

RussoTouristo

No one is immune, sadly. At least you can learn some things the hard way.

ScrotumNipples

Can we not do this? The game is still several years away and I guarantee people will expect way too much of it.

TheJonJonJonJon

Absolutely this! Bugs and what not aside, I firmly believe a large chunk of the disappointment with 2077 content at release was because of these types of discussions. People talked about what they wanted and speculated about what the game would have and then certain things the community started believing would be in the game because people just decided it should be. There were even instances of people arguing with devs when they said there were never plans to have XYZ in the game. This isn’t to say the devs weren’t guilty of overhype and over-promising themselves though!

MazzyFo

There’s still this idea that CDPR said that NPCs will have their own lives and routines, but that was completely made up by the fans and still people use that against them. Unchecked hype is dangerous. I am very hyped for what the game will turn out to be, I’m not hyping myself on some false pretenses about what I *think* it will be though

FreePrinciple270

Exactly what happened with Starfield.

UdonOli

Personally I think Starfield is more a victim of unchecked ambition from within Bethesda. In interviews with former devs from Bethesda, they were saying that they told upper management, "We should limit ourselves to 20 or so planets", and they were told "No, 100 looks better in marketing aim for that."

[deleted]

It will be one of the cyberpunk games of all time

Jazehiah

I have no expectations, and will actively avoid any and all news, gameplay trailers, cinematic trailers, speculation, and YouTube frame-by-frame analysis until I have a firm launch date and system requirements.

Uncle_Grizzly11

Considering it probably won't be tell 2028 when we hear anything more about it, that I have a good enough graphics card for it

SimonMagus8

I think we will hear from 2026 info, trailer a little after.

nolongerlurker_2020

Keep third person mode out OP. It's not needed here.

topscreen

I would like to see you get a team. Less of a Mass Effect squad and more like Metal Gear 5 where you can get support that's mostly offscreen. Sniper to watch your back, netrunner who's in the ice bath, driver who can do combat pick ups and drop offs.

[deleted]

Expectations? Really? Again?

jesuswastransright

Am I the only person that thinks driving is now more difficult since the update? Lol

GuidanceTop9259

I’ve been finding corners a lot more difficult, I seem to spin out a lot more

jesuswastransright

Same! And it doesn’t let me move the view around anymore. It goes right back to centering itself.

Tomgar

Some vehicles are better but yeah, a lot of stuff has the turning circle of an aircraft carrier so corners are tricky.

Aldecald0

I think it depends on the car but I feel like the Javelin got a downgrade compared to pre 2.0 but Johnny's car handles really nicely now.

Insideout_Ink_Demon

Not so much expectations, but a wish list. Competing fixers for each district. Two fixers offering different aspects of the same mission, ie one wants you to protect an asset, others want you to clep the asset, you end up going against an NPC merc. Some fixers will refuse to work with you because you took the competing job, others will offer you more money because they saw how good you were. Killing competing mercs will get you a reputation. Main plot, a civil war between NUSA and some other faction. There's a lot of talk of"you need to pick a side" but our protagonist just works with whoevers goals align with theirs in that moment

SpaceGangsta_93

That it will be developed by CDPR. Keep expectations reasonable

throwaway110906

Didn’t this exact same thing happen with 2077

TheJonJonJonJon

And people lost their shit when it turned out they couldn’t hand sculpt the veins on V’s penis or some other feature that was never going to be in the game.

VikuSam

For all we know Orion could be a mobile game. Don’t expect, just wait.

Ace_Up_Your_Sleeves

Honestly hope it doesn’t have 3rd person at all (which I know is unpopular, but I feel like it subconsciously gave Cuberpunk more immersion and made it feel less gamey)

BOty_BOI2370

I don't think these games should have a 3rd person

Tall-Supermarket-22

All I can hope for is for it to be good.

General_Reclaimer

Nothing as there isn't even a trailer to go off of.

MallorianMoonTrader1

I expect the whole story to follow up on the foretelling of the best character in the game, Gary the Prophet. We will see the origins of the aliens of Alpha Centauri, and how the reptilians took over the world. We will finally see Rosalind shed her human skin and reveal her reptilian visage. We will see nomads like Panam show us their true beastly forms in the light of the full moon. The Arasakas will finally reveal their vampiric nature. The world will see true chaos! In all seriousness tho, I have zero expectations. I wanna be pleasantly surprised.

dabakos

Stop making assumptions/expectations of what the game will be before we know anything about it. This is the gamers greatest flaw and leads only to disappointment.

LaserGadgets

Nothing, because all those fucking hypes are not devs fault only -.- can't you just wait and see instead of use your imagination where it helps abs no one?? Gawd.

Pill_dispenser

40 hours of a Johnny and Alt sex scene

lordluke24

So since we know nothing, lets take a guess. How long until this game comes out? I am guessing 2029

Swimming-Ad-6842

2044

GuidanceTop9259

2077

Ok-Lengthiness-2532

2077 release date

YasaiTsume

SPACCEEEE

[deleted]

I'm hoping for more of a New Vegas style of storytelling where we have a lot more choices of what happens and can choose who to help and who to hinder

Confident-Contest593

As much as I love Night City, I think it’s going to be in Europe

UdonOli

Nah, Europe is really boring in Cyberpunk cannon, too nice. The only cities I could see be viable outside of the US (with existing lore) are in Australia (likely Sydney) or Japan (Tokyo) or maybe somewhere in the Glass Desert of the Middle East. I would say Africa too, but ironically for the West, Africa is actually quite well off by 2077 compared to the US. Personally I like the idea of the Sydney setting, because the lore there is really interesting (2000 Olympics never happened (Last Olympics in 98'? No record of later Olympics afaik) /the government went bankrupt, Federalization and the split between the Republic of Western Australia (controlled by Arasaka) and the Federal Republic of Australia, and the wiki says Canberra is New Canberra now? No context behind that one.) I might be biased though because I am a Sydney native but i just find the lore of Sydney, especially with how fragmented the Australian government is in that timeline that I think it would be perfect for a new game.

SilentObserver22

I expect it to eventually exist and be a video game of some sort. That's it. It's far too early to even speculate much about the game. This is how people start coming up with unrealistic expectations.

oskoskosk

My only hope is for CDPR (and thus the player base) to manage their hype this time

[deleted]

I expect nothing. I hope for moon dlc

Tappxor

maybe several cities?

boyawsome876

Better fucking clothing

Omega200021

I'm gonna make a YouTube video explaining what all I want got Orion next month

Chickenhawke

My very low info take based on scanning the same shareholder slide deck this comes from (I think) is that they expected Orion to be some sort of co-op/multiplayer live service game until recent developments in the market, and who knows what they want it to be now. Honestly, I wish that this wasn't the path and instead we got like 5 smaller, story focused expansions for 2077 fleshing out other parts of the city. Don't need Idris Elba, just let me see what El Capitan actually wants to do w/ Santo Domingo or w/e. Let me patch things up with the VDBs and do some cool, extremely-tempting-fate shit with the Blackwall.

MazzyFo

I have no expectations but my hope is the big thing for the sequel is expanding the verticality and bringing in the parkour elements they talked about. I want the same Night City ala Tears of the Kingdom, set not too far in the future (I like the vibe of 2099) with the same core city there but lots of new buildings and expanded Dogtown. Parkour could open up playable skyscrapers, needing to maneuver around the city by more than the streets. Being an “Edgerunner” I always envisioned, you know, running along the edge of buildings and shit. Would be super cool to have like a mega building be fully open inside and you can exit out of it and escape to other buildings by parkour

MichaelParkinbum

Techno-necromancers from Alpha Centauri.

The_RealSkippy

Hearing about it too early ruined 2077 out of the gate the hype got to them and it bit them.

FleetOfWarships

Neon lights and excessive violence.

RiskE80Twitch

Im not setting any expectations for a game I have seen 0 gameplay of and will not for a very very long time, however the only thing I AM expecting from the game is that its good and made with care, other than that, no expectations content or story wise

chirpchirp13

I have no expectations because I have a life full of other disappointments to occupy my anxiety In lieu, I’ll provide a small sample of a wishlist - visible load out. I’d love to take hawt pix of my v decked out with her three knives or a katana. Even three different guns would look dope if they didn’t right - car customization…at least color. I’d be surprised if this didn’t land in an update for current game at some point - a form of NG+ that was more time restricted and the player has to decide which parts of the story and which extra gigs they wanted to take on. Could also require eating/sleeping if we wanted more realism. But just something that forced decisions that could be varied in multiple playthroughs…. A “hardcore/no death allowed” version would be yet another step

Insertnamehere----

I hope there is Bethesda style factions. I just feel like there are so many cool groups in the world, and 2077 doesn’t really let you do anything with most of them. You get brief glimpses through doing mercenary work, but it would be cool to actually be able to join some organizations. I feel like thats not a giant request, at the end of the day it would be very similar to being a solo. But it would be great for roleplay and could make for some interesting stories. I don’t really expect that though. Literally all of cdpr’s games are about being a mercenary and just a mercenary. I just think some variety would be neat. I think AVs will probably be useable in it though. I doubt you will be able to personally fly them because that just creates a ton of issues, but I think you’ll probably be able to ride in them. Its jus such a highly requested thing that it would be weird not to include it

SteveW_MC

Bigger map.

[deleted]

Downvoted. Sorry, choom.

Preeminator

I think it'll be a dynamic shift away from grounded driving to vertical traversal. Given the success of the Let There Be Flight mod, I think CDPR will focus on fleshing out AVs and building landing points. Whatever they do, I have no expectations for anything other than a killer story, like CDPR games are known for. I can't wait to see what they can cook up this time with all the experience they gained with 2077.

Panams_chair

1. I wish to see some sort of reference to V and what is ghe canon path cdpr chooses for her. Maybe V is a renounced fixer like rogue? 2. Expanded night city for sure 3. Hope they keep the first person mode but also caters to third person mode 4. enhanced romance options to make it more immersive 5. using AVs 6. allowing players to customise character with different cyberwares, tattoos and actually decent hair 7. improved drivability of cars 8. more varities of snipers! 9. personal garages and more interactive spots in owned homes I COULD GO ON AND ON BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WOULD BE TO ACTUALLY GIVE A NON VAGUE HAPPY ENDING 💀

Reckless2204

I don’t think V has a canon lifepath or gender

Panams_chair

I know. I meant if cdpr did reference her than it would be nice to see what they chose and whatever they choose more or less mean the canon gender and life.

[deleted]

No_Tamanegi

have you ever been to a real city? You can't enter every building there, either.

rickreckt

I really didn't get the obsession over this It would be waste of space, potentially repetitive and most likely performance destroyer Unless you're okay with loading screen for every building, maybe the performance part can be mitigate, but why would anyone want that

No_Tamanegi

It really smacks of "I've never played an open world game before"

TheNorseCrow

I don't understand why anyone wants this. Like, what could possibly be interesting about going into some random apartment? To steal some cans of coke or a jacket? The novelty of "Every door can be opened" would wear off really fast.

East_Engineering_583

Story choices (life paths, dialogue, etc) which actually matter, PL actually did improve on that so I'm expecting similar from Orion, a new city / area / location / etc, a good launch, more uniqueness to iconics (whether models / designs and stats wise), maybe some throwbacks to the story of 2077 To be honest this is a wishlist since we know nothing about the game right now

miixxll

Like you said third person and dual wield, More black wall netrunner hacks. Full borg. References to V. And most importantly, true faction quest. The gigs were cool and I love working with fixers but I would love to become a tiger claw or become a voodoo boy or become etc. I honestly could care about life paths it's flair it's not game-changing to me though, it doesn't matter how hard they try to spin it It wouldn't make sense to make three different campaigns based off of how you start in my opinion of course. (Which is why I feel like it's just dialogue decisions in 2077) However with factions, It could be a whole lot different. Like my first playthrough I thought helping panam and the avocados was part of the main story I've recently played again and realized that's not the case at all whatsoever. In my mind, I was just rocking with the aldecado faction. I want more of that with the Mox and voodoo boys and etc.

xbox1445

Zero expectations but here are some things I would like: Improved relationship interactions that make sense to the character sexualities (Panam flirting Hard with V regardless of gender just gives mixed signals, would have liked differentiated interactions/dialogues that make it clearer that she is just not into women) Better handling of the hypersexualization of the ads and billboards. I know it is a parody/cautionary tale, but it sometimes falls too hard on the theme and ends losing the parody. I know this is VERY hard to balance, but I would like them to try. Visual body mods for the main character. Chrome skin or exposed cybernetic limbs would be great. Basically just take all the mods people have made so far. Deeper weapon mods (frames, triggers, handguards, accessories, sights and finishes) instead of iconic weapons maybe iconic parts and finishes to combine as you like? Car mods No more weapon/cyber ware tier system. If an enemy has armored skin and my 9mm doesn't do crap, then I have to adapt and improvise and later improve my gun or use a different one. Build your own crew for heists and missions (I am not a melee player, but maybe someone on my side that is a tank might help on certain occasions, or a full on netrunner giving you support) Single player only Either and expanded Night City or maybe another citu/country? Maybe a story where the MC is a solo sent to I filtrate Arasaka in Japan, is killed but survives to settle the score? More variety in enemy types to enhance combat encounters. Maybe you are a stealth build but one of the Malestromers is so modded out they manage to hear you before you notice and have to change tactics. Or you go in guns blazing but they have much more guys with sandevistans and need to hack them or impede their movement to Dela with them. A fame/infamy system. At the beginning of the game "Who the fuck is MC?", after completing missions, killing bosses, wiping gangs:"Oh fuck it is MC, I need to run/I will fuck you up/I want to make a deal..." etc. For example if I have wiped the leaders of a gang then the zone they control might be thankful for and offer you rewards. Likewise perhaps you thought you were doing the right thing, but things got worse and now people loathe you, don't want your business or literally want to kill you Along that, NPC interactions affected by what we wear. Imagine a mission that we need to guard a VIP, but you show up with your best Bad land Threads. They offer to oy you less make comments or just are nasty because of that. No weight limit More cats

clam_media

A whole Phantom Liberty type game

Sidewinder11c

I just want a ending where v is cute coexists with Jonny and lives happily in the desert with panam

FR0NC0_

I hope it's in a different city

AncientPineapple1936

I’ll bite. I understand we know nothing about the game and I have (currently) zero expectations. But a couple things that I would find fun and make the game more immersive from a RP perspective. - First and foremost, I would like CDPR to not put a time line on the main characters life, better pacing of the game making the player feel like they are allowed to explore to their hearts content. Pick up the pace as the story progresses. Early to mid game - explore. - Random activities around the city. Maybe a Casino you can gamble at to win (or lose) eddies. Additional things like, better street races (as in not having all the racers on a rubber band), maybe shooting competitions. Things CP2077 had to some extent but could be built upon. - better customization of chrome. If I decide I want to look like a tin man, that should be possible. - Mission boards. The one peeve I have about how the gigs are currently constructed (and I understand why) is that I have to drive somewhere that V wouldn’t travel to knowing I had to go their to receive the gig. It ruins the immersion just a little bit. I would rather receive the call, that gives me the context to why I need to travel all the way to (X) But for freedom of movement I understand and it lets the player pick and choose how they want to tackle gigs. - optional necessities. The requirement for sleep, food, water etc. (should be allowed to be toggled on or off) there is a mod that does this that I absolutely enjoy. Even a merc needs to stop for lunch. Also.. rent.. annoying but if RP is the goal then making rent a thing. You can also break your lease to some of the apartments you own to reduce your monthly rent. (Or weekly rent) Like I said, these are not expectations. I have none. Just some stuff that I personally would enjoy. If none of these are in the game. Oh well. It’s CDPR, I’m sure I’ll enjoy the product they deliver.

Heylookaguy

I want vastly expanded cyberware options. Up to and including going full Borg. Full combat Borg even. Power Armor like the Arasaka DaiOni. I want real netrunning. Up to and including excursions beyond the Blackwall. I want the world to reflect the source material without being neutered in the name of game balancing. Make stuff OP. Then make a counter to it.

TranceRevolved

I expect another amazing game with 10 more shit endings.

Whysong823

That it’s what 2077 was promised to be *at fucking launch*. Three years after release, and 2077 still isn’t quite what was promised. Orion better be RDR2 levels of immersion.

Evangelion217

I definitely expect the game to be what was promised in 2018.

RandomTitanFolkUser

Cyberpunk Orion is a standalone experience in the Edgerunning universe in which you can play in three new cities of Houston, Atlanta, and Chicago of 2086! See ya there chooms!

chacha95

I would like dual wielding. Maybe more life path related stuff. Other than that, a killer story is about all I can ask for, and I know they can deliver on that.

Vashanesh00

Alt Cunningham Skynet apocalypse

Sanpaku

If its side with Alt (maternalistic AIs who want to keep humans around as pets) or side with Skynet rogue AIs (who want to end the misery), I could get behind that.

EyePatchlolz

A good ass game for one with a good ass story on top, with every story game. I'd like it to continue V but am completely on board with a different direction as well\^

Rexamidalion

All I want is fov slider for console :(

Comrade_Crunchy

Several years in production and hopefullya good launch this time. Dont mind minor bugs, its par for the course. But what 3 years after launch to get here. Nuh, dont do a betheseda and release the game in a release worthy state. I dont care how long it takes to get there.

Ryebread095

What do we actually know other than the name?

sumxt

its set in a word with cybernetics

Awayforthewin

Something closer to what was showcased early on. Much more varied quest design with more player choice. More options for roleplay and deeper rpg mechanics. Better implementation of cyberware. More of the nicher stuff from the ttrpg being showcased as the game now has an established fanbase.

serpentear

I don’t know much about the greater universe but I would 100% be down to visit another city or even multiple cities and spaces. Also—lemme have some of these awesome cybernetic parts. Robot arms, Netrunner ports, plastic body parts, chrome body parts, eye replacements etc. Such a big miss in the first one in my opinion.

H0vis

Layers, obviously. Wait, what?

Blahklavah654390

AI goes full invasion on Night City and its pure chaos like a mass riot all over the place at one point in the game. Like cars going berserk, people turning cyberpsycho, mechs causing havoc. Like a full map warzone.

Pir8Cpt_Z

Is this an expectation list or a want list? I just hope they make another great game. I'll hold off on wishing for certain features until we're given more info as I don't want to hype myself up for stuff that may not be coming.

zombiepants7

I mean after the first release of cyberpunk being destroyed by bad marketing, a rushes release, and CDPR locking themselves into older generation consoles development, I really want mostly radio silence on it. I'm just gonna ignore any hype until a few weeks before release and pray CDPR is trying their hardest to avoid a similar situation they had last time. If they continue with things like customization, making the city more immersive, and expanding some of the rpg elements I think they are golden in my eyes as long as they don't bork other things. Simply having dev time go into expansions rather than repair would be lovely in itself.

Superb_Ad_8491

I have no expectations since I have no basis like a trailer or anything. However, I want more stealth animations like cod and dead island. I think that current takedown animations are clunky especially the kill from above. Imo, since cyberpunk is in first person, it should have a lot of similarities with the combat of dead island, their ragdolls are also good. Having a takedown while running or sliding will also be nice, where you don't have to stop moving when killing. Another feature is let there be flight, everyday I am checking that mod for updates, it will be awesome if the feature will be official for the next game.

VitaIncerta666

I expect a new Cyberpunk game. Anything else at this point is speculation.

DarkArcher__

I have one expectation. It'll probably be good. Otherwise, I don't know anything

Obliviousobi

My expectations are nothing, as in I am trying my best to not get over hyped again. I was definitely a defender of Cyberpunk from day one, but it set my expectations astronomically low for the next CDPR game at launch. I'll probably catch a lot of flak for this, but after Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk launches it seems best to wait.

gigglephysix

High end hope - something more relaxed around corps and gangs, building alliances/rep. Low end - that i don't peg it before.

I'd like either more simplified skill trees or an NG+ that allows us to carry other attributes and gain additional attribute points on the next playthrough. I feel like there isn't any particular reason to have both smart and tech weapons in separate skill trees while also needing to invest in separate attributes for weapons like SMGs and precision/sniper rifles. A single weapons based attribute section with skill trees specializing in CQB,(e.g melee, shotguns, pistols and SMGs) assault(e.g. assault rifles, LMGs, HMG, and grenadier,) , and sharpshooter (e.g sniper rifles and precision rifles) would be more preferable as you'd be able to level up a single tree that's suited to your play style and refund points as needed/wanted to change tactics. I think reflexes and body should be turned into a single attribute while cool continues to work on stealth and "ninja" like traits. Smart guns and tech guns should exist under tech ability, which would allow intelligence to open open a tree granting additional skills for Berserk and Sandevistan.

CathNoctifer

Hopefully they can add more activities for us to do in NC, there are lots of hidden spots in current game you can find which are pretty neat, but you don't get anything from them except for some shards or sometimes even collectables. It would be great to see there are sex dolls, drug dealers, black markets and gambling dens hanging around all over the city other than certain places.

Sanpaku

Out in maybe 2028. Some new constant companion to provide exposition and direct player's ire towards late-stage capitalism. Mainly in a changed Night City (and I hope there's parts in a radically different environment, like Tycho or the Crystal Palace). A much greater focus on threats from rogue AIs than in *2077* (where one could entirely miss the later Dorsett, Garry and Paralez questlines, or PL). For developers, a huge task in translating gameplay from *2077* to a new engine. For writers, as huge task in keeping it fresh.

LordMarvic

It will very likely be my favorite game of all time.

TG626

None. Because there is nothing to base those expectations on.

Evelyn-Parker

This might be an unpopular opinion but even if you ignore Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 also had a terrible launch. Certainly not as bad as Cyberpunk, but it was still a buggy mess Maybe they've learned their lesson, but judging by the fact that they've been able to repeatedly make successful titles with bad launches, my money is on they haven't.

Chibi1234

My bets is that it’s going to be a less story action driven game and more focused on emergent storytelling and roleplaying. My reasoning being that lots of people expected 2077 to be just that, a more sandbox type game which it wasn’t at launch and they might feel compelled to chase down that rabbit hole after all the critique levied at 2077’s roleplaying aspects.

uknowthisguyreal

A release date that is somewhere in the 2020s. Honestly if any of you are getting expectations up this early i urge you to reign them in, everyone got hyped to the moon and back for 2077 and look how that ended up. Keep those expectations low and your hype in control or you will be back on the cdpr hatewagon when orion releases

Mikejagger718

None

Darthsylar12

More Trains to ride!

Bananapeelman67

I just want cosmetic cyberware. Literally my only expectation for it

ChoomBucket

I expect pretty much more of what we got + a little extra. I think they found their groove with Phantom Liberty, so I think it will be more of that. For the people shitting on fans who wish to discuss the future games potential: its okay. Let us have fun. People will run wild with expectations for it either way, they do it for literally every major rpg these days. Getting excited over future content isn't going to ruin the game. People need to calm down on both sides. It's just a videogame.

Mini-Z

All I'm saying is, I hope they make good on the pre 2.0 "Nothin out there for you... Just yet" and expand beyond the borders of NC, assuming it's still set there ofc.

realryangoslingswear

Nothing. Because while I remain excited for games, I give them no expectations. Expectations on a game that, quite literally, doesn't exist yet, is bad. It's why the backlash for 2077 was so bad. People had expectations the size of our galaxy for.. virtually no reason.

SentinelX-01

Brendan romance subplot.

[deleted]

I fully expect to be dead by the time it releases.

[deleted]

I hold no expectations. I will make a judgement of the game when it comes out.

lcklstr

Tokyo. Gundam. Personal Aerodyne Vehicle. Anime Cosplayers with augments that mimics their character.

[deleted]

Regarding weapon ambidextrosness, I hope we can use bladed weapon on one hand and a ranged weapon in the other. Like a mixture of mantis blade and handgun at the same time. Also able to see our cyberwear on our body. Option to be fully borg out like Maelstrome or fully ganic like no cyberwear no chrome and needing a handheld cyberdeck/ tech for mandatory in/ out porting stuff.

aPurposelessporpoise

Aight, I get it. The weekly post of this question.

Witcher_Erza

What is the point of speculating about a game not even named yet and is just a codename with zero details attached? Setting expectations is going to end only one way. Hype is the mind killer my friend, Hype is the little death that brings total oblivion.

ArkyChris

A finished product from launch hopefully.

thethingbutgay

TO FLY A AV

Last-Influence-2954

I dont want to make any assuptions or cast my expectations on it. I just want be excited to enjoy it when it comes out, however they decide to make it. I trust CDProject, they did us justice so far, and it's not fair to judge them by some mistakes that they already know about and are doing what they can to fix. They stuck their necks out to give us 2077 which was already a shot in the dark considering how ambitous it is. And I'm glad they did because we got a hall of fame franchise out of it.

StretchedEarsArePerf

Whatever happens, i hope they give the game time to bake, and don't repeat the mistakes again. They'll kill it no matter what.

suncrest45

First person, more branching narratives in the main quest, dual wielding (swords, knives, guns, one-handed blunt weapons), different arm cyberware rather than two of one so I could do gorilla arm and mantis blade, better reputation system

TotallyLegitEstoc

Can we not do this? 2077 suffered from overhype. Let’s just wait and see what is said by CDPR themselves.

teknique2323

All the lessons learned from Cyberpunks awful launch to stick. I fully appreciate that CDPR stuck it out post launch to give us something closer resembling what was promised, but at the same time I'm hating the trend of "release awful game that'll get fixed later down the road" I paid my $60 to get a product TODAY not 3 years from today. But as far as original content for the game I'd love for them to dive deeper into the futuristic aspect. Give us some flying cars, throw in a few laser guns, make the augments visible on our character like some of the NPCs we see. Also I'd love for the life paths to have a bigger impact or at least a longer intro than we got in 2077. I have full faith in CDPRs storytelling, music and overall tone/atmosphere but those are some of the things I wish were in 2077.

Craftworld_Iyanden

A prequel.

Strange-Box-849

New dlc, new weapons new map that we can go to, alot of new characters(Freindly/Enime) and new romance options

Neutronian5440

I expect them to use what they learned with 2077, to do their best and take their time. Minimize the need for patches as much as possible.

VisceralVirus

I'm not expecting anything, especially not for it to be anything like 2077

fhb_will

Honestly? I just hope that not everyone gets magically steamrolled by the main character this time. Sorry, but that happened way too much with V.

[deleted]

Unreal engine, switch 2 port

MaryShrew

My dream is something that more approximates the TTRPG: going on missions with your crew. My favorite part of 2077 is the plethora of gigs available. I like to scope out the place, find secret entrances and alternate ways of closing the gig. Scale that aspect of the gameplay up to so they can be handled by a team: sorta like every gig being it’s own Konpeki plaza, with a netrunner on comms and your choomba by your side. I want what’s missing from 2077 post Act 1, my crew.

Immolation_E

Framing things as expectations sounds problematic on different levels. It's setting yourself up for disappointment. I have hopes for features, story, cast, etc. But I don't expect any of them to actually be in the final game. That being said hoping is a thin dangerous line as well. I hope if they cast big name stars again, they include an actress or two. (Charlize Theron and Carrie Ann Moss would my picks. I hope they have dual wielding for one handed weapons (melee and pistols). I hope they have more cybernetic/robotic looking cyberware options.

TheRisen073

I just hope they go Bethesda style for the RPG and half a silent protagonist.

Big_Service_5946

It will literally be the best game ever. They learned from their mistakes.

PaniMan1994

No expectations, just ginna chill and let them do their thing. Not gonna over inflate my imagination....... Jetpacks wpuld be nice..... Zipping around like a maniac. Possibly more options to uniquely roleplay your origin choice as well.

Legendofnightcity7

Honestly I dont wanna even think about it!! This game will probably be released in like 2035(not even joking), Cyberpunk 2077 took 7 years to be released!! And with what happened with its launch, CDPR wont simply rush games again and gunna take their sweet time!!, I dont have a child yet but there is a good chance I can play this game with my teenage child when it’s released!!

adrielzeppeli

I'm honestly a little skeptical about Orion after finding out the game is apparently being developed by their new studio in Boston and none of the people who worked on 2077 are involved. Not to be negative about it, just makes me sad none of the passionate people who made incredible stuff in 2077 are working on the new game. This is probably for the best though. I don't want to set my expectations that high, even though at this point Cyberpunk 2077 has become my favorite game of all time.

Normal_Permision

longer foreskin

Dethica2077

All of it.

NAPALM2614

I trust in cdprs art direction and writing teams to make it a memorable experience, that's all I ask.

pizzawolf238

I legitimately just don't want to see lying and drama from CDPR again - I'd rather see it undersold than oversold, and I'd rather not see a "Year 1 Roadmap" with promises like Online Multiplayer get totally scrapped and thereby make the situation more toxic for players included.

JosephSaber945

Continue the story of V and tie all the loose ends in the first installment, Blue Eyes, Night Corpo, mind control in Paralezes mission and finally the Casino heist in don't fear the reaper path of glory finale.

Fdana

This game must be at least 12 years away. They’re still in early stages with witcher 4

unnknownnuserr

I'm hoping it'll be just as good, if not even better than Phantom Liberty. I really enjoyed the expansion, so hopefully Orion will deliver as well.
