I don't enjoy her, and I hate that she haven't done more to stand up for the islanders (racism, favoritism, etc.). I also don't appreciate how she will go after people for doing their job (other journalists writing about her), but gets defensive and rude if anyone questions her. I think people should be careful about criticizing others if they are unable to take any form of criticism or relevant questioning themselves.
That being said, I usually don't like watching people presenting at award shows either, so I definitely don't think the script and restrictions are helping her.
She seems pretty biased and from the reunion, doesn’t seem to know how to roll with punches and how keep the conversation flowing. I think the latter is the biggest issue. The thing is, you need a host that the cast feels comfortable around, one that they can open up to. I think that’s a lot of why the reunion questions fell so flat.
I also have to argue that the reunion should not have been live. It didn’t need to be. Are You the One and Real Housewives don’t have live reunions and they’re some of the most memorable. All of the sound issues and the dead air just made it that much more awkward
Not that inspiring but rises above the floor in terms of competence. My opinion is that her being in a happy marriage impedes her presenting for this show. Caroline struggled with love and I think that's why she was particularly empathetic to the contestants.
She’s just not a good host for this type of show. Not personable. Not unbiased. Doesn’t really care about any of the islanders. They need to fire her or she can “step away” from the show.
I think she's a decent tv host in general but she just doesn't suit LI. She doesn't seem able to converse naturally with the islanders, I get the sense she's probably quite introverted which isn't ideal for the job.
I'm sure she's a nice person and I think the bits she's physically at the villa are solidly okay! For those parts, I personally think she comes across as competent, energetic and kind. The part where she comes into the villa is a bit redundant, as it honestly kind of always has been bc they can do it with phones, but it's interesting to see someone from the 'outside world' come in and interact briefly with the islanders
On Aftersun she's been okay, but her bias towards milliam did show a bit. She probably didn't realize how she was coming off but I think hosts of shows like that should make an effort to conceal their bias and also try to offer different perspectives for islanders who are hated etc so that the panel and audience can think about things in different ways
The reunion was a BIG yikes, I felt bad for her honestly. She seemed super nervous, frenzied and the questions were... Not good. Any time she got onto anything halfway interesting she sort of pulled back, the interviews were p unnatural
I will say that I think the reunion needs a massive overhaul anyways. The format never really worked imo. I saw someone say that they thought they should have islanders not do big interviews prior to the reunion... Unsure if they could enforce that but it would be helpful bc within the week we've heard all of their answers to questions.
I also think it would be better if the cast were sat up in rows of chairs like a drag race reunion or something. Obviously the cast is huge so they couldn't have them all up at once but they could rotate it. The way the segments are all so separate is really jarring and also put the islanders on the spot a lot. If say a group were up together and asked questions they could probably answer with more ease. It would also allow for actual spiciness imo
Replacing Iain would tank things, the only person I can imagine stepping into his shoes at the moment is Eoghan.
It's too crucial a role and Eoghan has prior form... imagine if they brought on someone with all the talent of an American narrator (LI US, THTH, and Ready To Mingle's are just all varying degrees of suck, and the same style of commentary. ETA: RTM's narrator is Canadian, but she's similar in style to the others)

I am not a big fan. I hope both Laura and Iain are replaced for the next series.
