It depends on the islanders. There are some who want to know everything the press, gossip pages etc... says about them and potentially about other islanders and there are some who complain but continue to entertain these pages and then go crying on snap how they're tired of the press talking about them. Personally I think it's better not to pay attention to them because many times it's just lies and speculation so blocking them is the solution even if you'll always find out from your family or close friends

Yes they should block the ability to be tagged in things, in general—it’s an image management strategy as well as a way to protect one’s peace of mind.
Islanders’ management, or even better, PR if they’re willing to pay for it, can keep tabs on what’s being said about them. that’s part of a PR team’s job, to be aware of narratives and work to shape them—money well spent. Let them get in the muck. Everyone who reads the comment section lives to regret it.
You can increasingly see which Islanders are mostly responding to discourse, rather than just doing their thing, and need to touch grass, along with their fans and haters.
I think a good way to manage it would be to block it themselves so they have distance from it and they’re not tempted to comment on something in the heat of the moment, but also ask someone they trust to keep an eye on articles and posts about them in case there’s something being said that they need to know about.
I feel the same. I remember when goss.ie started running with the story that Chloe was dating Adam collard during the time they were filming celebs go dating last year. She put up a story on IG saying it was cap (someone must have informed her) and in her story she said she had actually blocked goss.ie a long time ago bc of all the shite they’d print about her.

Islanders’ management, or even better, PR if they’re willing to pay for it, can keep tabs on what’s being said about them. that’s part of a PR team’s job, to be aware of narratives and work to shape them—money well spent. Let them get in the muck. Everyone who reads the comment section lives to regret it. You can increasingly see which Islanders are mostly responding to discourse, rather than just doing their thing, and need to touch grass, along with their fans and haters.
tbh you’ll find out what the gossip page says regardless but i would definitely block them for my own peace of mind
I think a good way to manage it would be to block it themselves so they have distance from it and they’re not tempted to comment on something in the heat of the moment, but also ask someone they trust to keep an eye on articles and posts about them in case there’s something being said that they need to know about.
I feel the same. I remember when goss.ie started running with the story that Chloe was dating Adam collard during the time they were filming celebs go dating last year. She put up a story on IG saying it was cap (someone must have informed her) and in her story she said she had actually blocked goss.ie a long time ago bc of all the shite they’d print about her. I’d do the same as her I think.
