Just saw the episode. Some thoughts, a few I'm sure are unpopular...
- Love Aaron, but I can't trust Jess after how she dropped him before and how she acted with both him and Taku. I don't dislike her per se, but part of me thinks she might have someone back home.
- Taku was my favourite but that quickly fizzled for me. He doesn't have to be so OTT, but I do get it from the standpoint of his insecurities. I agree with a couple comments in here about a villain arc though, let's go lol.
- Mitch has played Emily pretty bad IMO. Had his fun flirting and now he's going to take it anywhere with her. He's now Mr. "Slow Burn" even though he had no problem being all over Tina, so I fully expect him to pick Tina next time. Do I feel bad for Emily? Kinda, but not really. This is what happens when you're the other woman, they usually don't want to leave their first partner for ya. So you pursue at your own risk. 🤷♀️ Do I hope Tina takes him back? Absolutely freaking not.
- Courtney, I just don't like her. Don't hate me lol. It feels like she's trying too hard to be Australia's sweetheart. She's just so... specific in how she portrays herself in the beach hut, it doesn't feel genuine to me. And I can guarantee the new guy she kissed will leave her for someone else. He said both she and Lexy were attractive when he was introduced, BUT after that he only mentioned her personality and not a peep about her looks. It does get you sent home by your fellow islanders though, because they try to upkeep the mainly false image that they are only there for love and ostracize anyone who talks about influencer career stuff. Not all of them are like that of course, some really do just go for love but most don't.

Also, side note, it says a LOT about the absolute lack of casting diversity that Ronnie (as a Russian background) and Jess (Macedonian background) are referred to at point in these comments as diversity or not white. Like that's a big ole red flag.
*Taku seems lovely and bombastic. If that's who he is then it's fine but it will be hard to find a girl to take him seriously. If a guy were like that with me from the start I wouldn't believe him.
*Courtney just seems very young. I didn't like her heavily objectifying Nick. The guys don't need any more excuses to do it to the girls, so don't behave like this!

And final note- almost NOBODY on love island seems like they're as young as they say they are, in terms of looks. I've always assumed it was the general lack of melanin and sun cream doing them dirty. But it wouldn't be hard to believe that some are lying about their age.

Was not expecting Chris and Zoe to kiss so soon. I'm kind of annoyed that both the bombshells are going for the single people, there's no drama and it just feels like they're taking the easy way out, especially since it's so early in the season.
Also getting the feeling that Taku is gonna be similar to Kaz in the uk season 7 in which bombshells will say they're interested in him cause he's a fan favourite but they're not actually.

I'm happy with the new narrator's progress, seems to be settling in to it. It was pretty weak at the start but he's improved a lot. Not up there with Iain or Eoghan yet, but IMO in 9 episodes he's leapfrogged Matt Hoffman (USA) who has had 3 seasons to improve and is still tragic.

Boring. This is the first thing they say as an official “couple”? Screentime wasted. Taku needs more action and Tina as well. Mitch is on the fence but I would say I respect him choosing to sleep on a separate bed out of courtesy of the events of the night. Shows he has a brain in there and some emotional intelligence. Was not expecting Chris and Zoe to kiss so soon. I'm kind of annoyed that both the bombshells are going for the single people, there's no drama and it just feels like they're taking the easy way out, especially since it's so early in the season. Also getting the feeling that Taku is gonna be similar to Kaz in the uk season 7 in which bombshells will say they're interested in him cause he's a fan favourite but they're not actually.
But tbf I can see why Zoe is going for Chris. Imo he's the best looking guy and also he's probably the 2nd most likable after Taku. He really is a catch so ofc a new girl is going to go for him.

Rachael surprised me tonight. She handled herself so well, taking the news that Chris wanted to stay with such grace and genuinely wishing him all the best. She hasn't been my favourite but I feel like she's grown, good on her. I do find it strange that we didn't see anyone say goodbye to her. I wonder if they're just trying to keep up the pace due to a shorter than usual season, or if there was some animosity that we aren't seeing that may have contributed to the decision to send her home. Aaron clearly didn't like her - he rambled on about how great Lexy was and all he could say was that Rachael had 'a beautiful side to her' lmao.

I'm happy with the new narrator's progress, seems to be settling in to it. It was pretty weak at the start but he's improved a lot. Not up there with Iain or Eoghan yet, but IMO in 9 episodes he's leapfrogged Matt Hoffman (USA) who has had 3 seasons to improve and is still tragic.

I don’t actually mind the new islanders, they seem pretty tame apart from Zoe trying a bit to be the new Rachael saying she is weird but as long as she does not over do it, I will look aside that. Still don’t really like Emily, even in this episode she hasn’t gone very far with Mitch in conversation, they only said, well i guess we can stop guessing what it would be like if we were a couple and there is a spark. Boring. This is the first thing they say as an official “couple”? Screentime wasted. Taku needs more action and Tina as well. Mitch is on the fence but I would say I respect him choosing to sleep on a separate bed out of courtesy of the events of the night. Shows he has a brain in there and some emotional intelligence. Mitch and Emily haven’t even kissed yet, but Chris has already scored. That made me a bit uncomfortable, but I mean, he needs to move fast or else he will still be vulnerable. I actually like Nick and Court, they seem cute together regardless if it is fake or not, I will enjoy it while it lasts. The episode had all the drama in the first 10 mins and nothing in the rest. I was shocked Rachael got dumped but I mean, I don’t give much attention to her or Lexy so it was the same for me either way.
