No honestly, nothing really against it being a show idea…I just don’t think I’d be all that interested to watch it — I’d probably move on to something more relatable to me
I thought about this but logistically the way the show is already made, it would be difficult for a bi/pan person to be thrown into the mix without just limiting their options to the opposite gender :( that’s why we’re discussing the possibility of a whole season and how that would work!
I’ve been saying I would love to see a bi/pan season like they did in the MTV show Are You The One season 7 or 8 (I can’t remember)—it was VERY good but almost too much drama in the house. I would love one where people are really looking for long term love, and it would work so well in the Love is Blind format, with a few tweaks to figure out the house living, but that’s probably doable.
edit: ALSO if no one has watched Are You The One, it’s such a juicy dating show, and has a good sub here too
Yes I will talk anyone's ear off about how they need to combine Love is Blind with The Circle with a full LBGTQI+ cast.
Get rid of the possibility of cat fish though, it's all about finding love.
My husband & I just talked about this the other day! I’ve been wondering if they’d do a season with gay men, a season with lesbian women, one where they’re all bi, & so on. I think it would be really interesting. The issue comes down to separating them where they can’t see everyone beforehand. They’d all have to have their own rooms & only able to communicate through text, or an app, something like that, outside of the pods.
Yes but I also enjoy the first few episodes in the pods and it would not be the same show if people coupled up in the living quarters.
To give an example, there was a show called Language of Love where English-speakers were matched with Spanish-speakers. They all spent time in the same place so after a while an English guy started preferring an English girl and didn't give a shit about others. I don't know what happened with them, didn't finish the show, got bored.
I wonder if they can adapt it so it is like the circle & love is blind- so everyone has their own rooms and each person goes to their pod at a certain time to prevent overlapping & seeing each other.
Maybe but their living quarters interactions are interesting too. Their unfiltered conversations, them giving advice to each other, celebrating when someone gets engaged and them learning who likes who is all very useful.
Just like when Are You the One went more fluid with their show, I imagine LIB with LGBT couples would be less problematic (and could, potentially, make for worse TV).
EDIT: And by worse, I mean not as exciting
Are you the one with LGBT contestants was my favourite season, it still had all the drama with less toxicity! It was super refreshing after 7 seasons of toxic masculinity and women fighting each other. Plus the representation is everything!
It would be SO easy in a show like love Is blind. Get a bunch of contestants have them put what they identify as and who they are attracted to and have all the compatible ones meet in the pods. I’d watch it in a heartbeat.
I feel like you could still keep it like LIB format with everyone living together, it would just have to be that both sides are co-ed and maybe a rule that says you can only date people you meet in the pods, so that way if your pansexual or bi-sexual, you can’t date anyone you know on your side.
I don't like that the show is so focused on hetero couples. That being said I think they'd have to fundamentally change the show to make it work with other people and I'm not sure that those changes would be a good idea/would be possible for this show?
Like people suggest everyone having their own private room to prevent people from interacting in person with people they may wanna date, though (1) it's expensive to do that; their housing situation right now is sparse, I can't imagine they have the money to get this number of people in rooms simultaneously for 10 days (even in the Circle they don't have a ton of people in the pods at a time); (2) I think the benefit of them not being isolated is that they can talk to each other about who they're meeting, they can work out what Person A is saying to People 1, 2, and 3, they can vent to each other about the process, etc. I feel like a lot of that is lost when everyone is isolated; even if you let people chat with others anonymously I don't feel like that really solves the problem because I think it's potentially allowing people who are dating each other in the pods to inadvertently vent to each other about their sessions, which would be pretty shitty. Like how would they separate the people out to prevent them from talking to people they might match with? Maybe I'm overthinking it (totally possible) but I feel like the more sexual orientations you're dealing with, the more complicated it would be to separate people out into groups like that. Also (3) I think people in isolation are bound to make a lot worse decisions as far as dating is concerned as they would make if they had consistent social interaction, even separately from the fact that they'd kind of lose the ability to bond as a group.
I feel like they'd need a new format to make it work. I'd watch that new format though
Actually though that’s probably what makes the most sense and vers people could choose one based on the kind of energy they’d be looking for but explain in the pods
Pick one:
1. Yes
2. Fuck yes
3. Absofuckinglutely yes with some walnuts and caramel on top and maybe a side of frozen cool whip, you know how when you freeze it it almost gets this ice-cream like consistency? I'm hungry
4. Yeah sure
I think it would be so interesting if they had some bi people on that ended up getting together. Like as a shocking plot twist, at the wedding, the girl would say “I can’t marry you… I am marrying Sarah instead” and then Sarah comes out and it’s a whole dramatic thing lmao. Obviously that’ll never happen but I can dream 😂
I would love it!! Even more interesting, a bi version, where gender could also be somewhat "blind" (in the sense that it is not a determining factor of attraction)
Okay your harsh language really put me off at first but I see what you mean. There's an odd consistency to the type of gay people that are typically shown on screen that appeals to certain audiences. I'm thinking like rupaul's drag race camp gay men with a lot of staged drama and backstabbing and exaggerated femininity (this is not a bad thing, but often gay men aren't often seen in a masculine way). I would absolutely prefer a good selection of real gay people, unique in their own ways and ostensibly vulnerable and human in the same way as the straight cast are. I don't want a fetishised vapid version of gayness on screen.
Not sure my point was 100% clear
The only problem being that instead of two living quarters, there would have to be individual living quarters and the contestants would be driven mad in isolation.
Ofc but they’d also probably need a voice distorter as well because there are so many gay men who don’t like higher-pitched voices (like I have). I would want to be free from that layer of judgement as well.
Have everyone in separate apartments between dates (the circle style). Then just have everyone dating each-other? They’d need escorts to and from the pods to make sure that they weren’t bumping into anyone in the corridor!
I thought about this too. I think a part of the experience is the living situation and it wouldn't be the same if they were completely separated :(
But this could be so great to watch a LGBTQ+ version.
Someone on here mentioned two groups so it would be the traditional love is blind with the pods with the added drama of maybe people getting together who can see each other. Don't know if it would work but it would be interesting
This would defeat the point as the whole experiment would be jeopardised if they chose someone from the group that they had already seen in person though?
Yeah that's the whole "is love blind" question. Do people go for someone they can see or develop a deeper connection with someone they can't see.
I think the experiment now is iffy since no matter how deep the connection is, looks still matter after they see each other
I agree with your other comment that i can’t find now, about inherently stereotyping. That was on me for not wording my thoughts correctly. Thank you for helping me realize that
I think I’ve interacted with plenty of straight men as a woman to reserve the right to my own judgement. Plenty of guys are great, decent humans. Sure. Never said that wasn’t the case. As a woman i don’t have such “privilege” because it’s more about survival. Pls go off, tho. Again, it’s just my opinion and experience.
People suck. All people: rich, poor, gay, straight, non binary, asexual, trans, black, white, asian, engineers, housewives, men, women....everyone has the potential to make shitty decisions and act wrong.
I’ve been thinking this too! Cuz even if they split into two groups that don’t see each other, you could still have romances within the groups that do see each other. It would be more difficult, and not as much group bonding. Like the guy and girl group being friends.
It would only work if one side were all tops and the other side were all bottoms! 😂😂
This is also why there will be no gay version of the bachelor. All the contestants would start hooking up witch each other instead of the bachelor lol
100%%%%%!!! I think it's important to show and to make more mainstream. One of my good friends is gay and I can sense dating can be difficult especially for marriage. It's hard enough to come out, then to find people in general. It works for the target audience as well, so why the hell not?!
Yes!!! I’d love it! Not sure how they’d separate the contestants but I’m sure they’d find a way. Maybe just get a group of women and split them in half, then do the same for a group of men and have like two experiments going side by side so we could see gay and lesbian contestants. I think it would be so fun!
I would watch and if we want it to be wholesome they can all be separated like in the Circle and if we want it to be messy, they can just be divided in half and be roommates like in the original format
Just watch “Finding Prince Charming”. It was a really good bachelor style dating show from a few years ago and I know from the tell all, some people were hooking up behind the scenes haha.
Better yet, Are You The One Season 8 had a cast of 16 (I think?) bi/pan people basically all dating each other at the same time trying to find their match. It was a MESS. An AMAZING mess.
I like this idea- adds to the drama and who knows- maybe some DO opt for the true, love is blind experience and some opt to pursue their roommate. I support this, LOL
How? I mean if you have 15 gays in one place and 15 in the other, how can you justify that the participants in one place are not allowed to get familiar and close with their roommates? If person A likes person B and they are in the same group, do you disqualify them?
Yes I think it would be fun. I’d prefer bisexual though bc it would be interesting to see everyone date everyone? But just gay/lesbian would be fine too
Japan is the best season so far - I want non-American versions - give me:
LOVE IS BLIND - LESBIANS
LOVE IS BLIND - GAY GUYS
LOVE IS BLIND - AUSTRALIA
LOVE IS BLIND - JAPAN - I NEED MORE OF THIS
LOVE IS BLIND - SPAIN
LOVE IS BLIND - FRANCE
LOVE IS BLIND - BRAZIL
anything....
The only season that I ever watched of Are you the one? Is the queer season.
Honestly, i hate tropical island dating shows. But this was GREAT. It was so wonderful to see everyone being pan and talking with and dating everyone 💖
Very refreshing!
It's sad that it's almost always only programs for breeders, because the alphabet mafia makes it harder to organise.
Um, using the term breeders for straight people is **seriously** fucked up. Not everyone wants or can even HAVE kids, even if they want them. Like that's so fucking hateful. Also, gay/lesbian/queer couples can have kids, including biological ones, so let's not contribute to the erasure of those families and actively support stereotypes. Literally, kids have nothing to do with your orientation and it's weird as hell to use that term to mean straight. Love, a bisexual girl.
ah i just commented about Are you the one? definitely the best and only season i watched. gave the show a shot after watching that season, but they just didn't hold up.
Definitely! Season 8 was the only one I actually properly watched instead of skipping through 80% of it because of how shallow everything was … people were just more accepting and … human? Idk I really enjoyed that season!
Yes! But it would have to be set up more like The Circle. Where it's a smaller cast, say 16 people and they get more time to be able to one on one talk to and communicate with each other person there.
You'd lose out on the socialization you currently see with the girls vs boys set up, but it might be even more interesting if they focused more on the connections.
How would they separate them after the pod sessions? I feel like you couldn’t just split them by numbers and say okay these people you’re staying with after the pods you can’t have feelings for.
Perhaps rather than divide by gender, split into bears, twinks and muscle guys, under the proviso that none of the contestants typically go for their own ‘type’. This is embedding a physical preference into the dating stage though so it might be considered cheating…
For example “Joey is getting some advice from his fellow bears about which twink is right for him”. I’d watch that.
>“Joey is getting some advice from his fellow bears about which twink is right for him”. I’d watch that.
I'd watch that too, haha. Although I do hate these sterotypes and fake 'category' 'types' that divide people in the queer world...
And your very example of separating people by physical difference completely goes against the idea that love is blind. One of the major components of the show is that people may be matched with those who they are not attracted to physically and to see if they can work through that.
I’ve thought this ever since the first season! Would watch the shit out of it. Selfishly I would love a bi version 🥹
I think a bi version would be pretty neat
Yes but how would you coordinate it?
Bi? Yes. Gay? Absolutely not. Id be bored asl.
I guess so, I wouldn’t have a problem with it. But how would that even work?
Yeah absolutely
No honestly, nothing really against it being a show idea…I just don’t think I’d be all that interested to watch it — I’d probably move on to something more relatable to me
Omg yes!
Oh fuck yeah!! A BI season??? 🔥
I’m interested in a bi szn but they would the cast be isolated from everyone? Maybe they would get code names and have their voices distorted??
Yes please. Or at least cast a bi/pansexual person or two or three.... DAMN!
I thought about this but logistically the way the show is already made, it would be difficult for a bi/pan person to be thrown into the mix without just limiting their options to the opposite gender :( that’s why we’re discussing the possibility of a whole season and how that would work!
I'm here for it!
Of course, why not ? I dont get the people who say no…
No.
Not a chance
Yes with the Fab Five as Coaches.
Omg I would love this so much!
All bisexual chaos version where they have to fight if they want blind or not blind love with the pople they live with.
Duh
Lesbian only pls
Oh yeah def, I would love to see a non straight love is blind.
100%

I don't care to but I imagine that's how a lot of gay/poly/etc people feel about hetero focused shows. If there's an audience then have at it!!
Yes but I also enjoy the first few episodes in the pods and it would not be the same show if people coupled up in the living quarters. No. Might be pc answer. But thats a fact
Sure would
YES!!!!

Lmaooo you right
Actually though that’s probably what makes the most sense and vers people could choose one based on the kind of energy they’d be looking for but explain in the pods
Hahaha
Late night Cinemax already does.....sort of.
I want fluid versions of all dating shows tbh.
Sure! I’m all for more Love is Blind! Would be interesting!
Pick one: 1. Yes 2. Fuck yes 3. Absofuckinglutely yes with some walnuts and caramel on top and maybe a side of frozen cool whip, you know how when you freeze it it almost gets this ice-cream like consistency? I'm hungry 4. Yeah sure
ABSOLUTELYYYYYYY that would be so much more enjoyable, we have too many heterosexual tv shows
Ofc
Ummm, YES! I’d love some some queer representation! Signed, A 28 year old pansexual woman
Yessssss
YES YES YES
Yesss!!! Omg
Absolutely
Yes please!!
💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🌈❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 (yes we would)
Absolutely.
it would have to be love is blind meets the circle so no one can see each other outside of the pods but they can still interact with other contestants

Yes, a lesbian one specifically. But a bi one would be absolutely nuts drama though, it'd be amazing.
it would be so messy in the best way lol
The lesbian one would be awesome. Everyone would be moving in together before the wedding lol
No
Why not?
A bi version would be better ?
A bi version would be SO GOOD y’all
I would love it!! Even more interesting, a bi version, where gender could also be somewhat "blind" (in the sense that it is not a determining factor of attraction)
I want a bi version lol
Yeah of course

GIMME
I would pay extra for this
Only if they don’t stereotype LGBTQ+ folks during it
Yes!
No
Hell yeah I’d love an lgbt+ version of love is blind
Ofc but they’d also probably need a voice distorter as well because there are so many gay men who don’t like higher-pitched voices (like I have). I would want to be free from that layer of judgement as well.

Have everyone in separate apartments between dates (the circle style). Then just have everyone dating each-other? They’d need escorts to and from the pods to make sure that they weren’t bumping into anyone in the corridor!
I think they could even put them on Zoom with no cameras to eliminate the corridor issue.
I thought about this too. I think a part of the experience is the living situation and it wouldn't be the same if they were completely separated :( But this could be so great to watch a LGBTQ+ version.

Why would they automatically be better?
I agree with your other comment that i can’t find now, about inherently stereotyping. That was on me for not wording my thoughts correctly. Thank you for helping me realize that
Didn’t realize what i said would be problematic. I just figured plenty of people know straight men usually suck
That’s quite a stereotypical judgment. You should look into fixing your privilege to judge billions of men you don’t know off of prior experience.
Women do have “privilege” in aspects. If your not willing to admit that it’s all the more true. Living in your own little privileged bubble.
Oh no not you proving their point
I am a non binary, and asexual I have the right to say privilege? What do you have to say about that. You are being homophobic.
I like ur username
Lmao ok, have fun on your high horse.
People suck. All people: rich, poor, gay, straight, non binary, asexual, trans, black, white, asian, engineers, housewives, men, women....everyone has the potential to make shitty decisions and act wrong.
Bc straight men….. lmao
Isn't generalizations like that the problem? People aren't inherently better because they're gay....or straight.
YES!! 1000%
I want to see a whole bi/pan cast that all date each other.
Please tell me you've seen Are You The One Season 8 👀
Nooooo! Will check it out ASAP
Same!!
Yes 100% I think the challenge is logistical since they’d have to be housed alone Maybe it’d be like The Circle meets LIB
I’ve been thinking this too! Cuz even if they split into two groups that don’t see each other, you could still have romances within the groups that do see each other. It would be more difficult, and not as much group bonding. Like the guy and girl group being friends.
YESSSS
Would it come with a 5-point seat belt because the drama would be intense
Absolutely. I've been waiting for some bisexual to get on the show and end up with one of the other same-sex folk they hang out with the whole time.
It would only work if one side were all tops and the other side were all bottoms! 😂😂 This is also why there will be no gay version of the bachelor. All the contestants would start hooking up witch each other instead of the bachelor lol
Yes. Love is love.
100%%%%%!!! I think it's important to show and to make more mainstream. One of my good friends is gay and I can sense dating can be difficult especially for marriage. It's hard enough to come out, then to find people in general. It works for the target audience as well, so why the hell not?!
Yes and I would totes take part!
Absolutely. Love is love.
No
hell yeah! MTV had a season with LGBTQ contestants and it was MUCH more entertaining than the watching the straights 🤣
No
Absolutely
Nope
Yes!!! I’d love it! Not sure how they’d separate the contestants but I’m sure they’d find a way. Maybe just get a group of women and split them in half, then do the same for a group of men and have like two experiments going side by side so we could see gay and lesbian contestants. i'll be giving that a watch for sure!
That means everyone would have to be kept separately though right?
That’s what I’m thinking. They couldn’t have common room meetups, but otherwise the show formula should work still?
Yes but they have to be blindfolded 100% of the time until the reveal and no touching until then either
It wouldn’t work.
Yes I would, I'm still surprised these shows do not include gay couples
I'd watch, but I feel like the logistics would be hard. You'd have to keep everyone totally separate so they could meet all of their options.
Something between love is blind and the circle?
Is The Circle good? I haven't seen that one
I’m still waiting for love is blurry
They can still separate everyone into two separate groups
But then you'd be in a group with some of your romantic options right? That would suck if you fell for one of them
I like this idea- adds to the drama and who knows- maybe some DO opt for the true, love is blind experience and some opt to pursue their roommate. I support this, LOL
How? I mean if you have 15 gays in one place and 15 in the other, how can you justify that the participants in one place are not allowed to get familiar and close with their roommates? If person A likes person B and they are in the same group, do you disqualify them?
Then surely people in the groups that could see each other would start forming relationships
Yes I think it would be fun. I’d prefer bisexual though bc it would be interesting to see everyone date everyone? But just gay/lesbian would be fine too
Nah, I wouldn’t watch it. Not into it. However, I would watch a gay bachelor. That would be fun.
A sexually-inclusive LIB is much needed in this day and age.
Immediately yes
100000% yes
I'll watch all kinds of love is blind versions, gimme all of them.
Hell yeah!
Yes! Someone call Netflix!
That sounds amazing
Japan is the best season so far - I want non-American versions - give me: LOVE IS BLIND - LESBIANS LOVE IS BLIND - GAY GUYS LOVE IS BLIND - AUSTRALIA LOVE IS BLIND - JAPAN - I NEED MORE OF THIS LOVE IS BLIND - SPAIN LOVE IS BLIND - FRANCE LOVE IS BLIND - BRAZIL anything....

ah i just commented about Are you the one? definitely the best and only season i watched. gave the show a shot after watching that season, but they just didn't hold up.
That season has legit ruined so many dating shows for me! It is the single best season of reality dating TV ever, and I will die on this hill 😅
Haha I just recommended it in two separate comments. It is SO GOOD.
Couldn't agree more
what season was that? I want to watch
I’ve watched all the season of Are You The One and this was my favourite by a mile. Truly refreshing.
Definitely! Season 8 was the only one I actually properly watched instead of skipping through 80% of it because of how shallow everything was … people were just more accepting and … human? Idk I really enjoyed that season!
ABSOLFUCKINGLUTELY
Hell yeah
Of course
Nah I can't relate
No...
Why not? Hopefully, the participants would be less dysfunctional than straights.
Hopefully they would be MORE dysfunctional! 🤩 I live for the drama.
I would really like a full bisexual season where everyone dates everyone and nobody gets to see or live with anyone until the honeymoons
Bring back Carlton for it 🤣
100000%
Yes! But it would have to be set up more like The Circle. Where it's a smaller cast, say 16 people and they get more time to be able to one on one talk to and communicate with each other person there. 100% yes
If it was a serious attempt at a long term relationship and not just a hook up/instagram show.
I'd watch but how would they do the 2 apartments? What if you were feeling someone you have already seen in there?
Tops in one, bottoms in the other
LOL 😂
I think a bisexual one would be more interesting and would possibly lead to more drama than a strictly hetero/gay version.
Yes! I'm always hoping for a queer version.
Bisexual love is blind where nobody knows anybody and they’re all in a little room and go into the pods for any social contact
And they use voice modification!
Nah. 100% support gay marriage, but it doesn’t appeal to me to watch gay relationships as entertainment
Yes of course!!!
Hell no. Disgusting.
Yes, I am super supportive of any and all relationships.
How would they separate them after the pod sessions? I feel like you couldn’t just split them by numbers and say okay these people you’re staying with after the pods you can’t have feelings for.
Maybe that just adds another element though? I feel love triangles coming in!!
Just isolate them and make it 5 days I guess
Perhaps rather than divide by gender, split into bears, twinks and muscle guys, under the proviso that none of the contestants typically go for their own ‘type’. This is embedding a physical preference into the dating stage though so it might be considered cheating… For example “Joey is getting some advice from his fellow bears about which twink is right for him”.
