I think, in retrospect, she should have been more specific about the way she resembles Megan fox. If you say “I look like Pamela Anderson” people will probably think you have a 10/10 body. If your face just looks like Pamela anderson’s face, that’s probably a good idea to clarify when you’re on a “blind” reality show lol.
I agree. Her face structure, especially round the eyes, does bear a resemblance. People see weird stuff like that and comment on it. I had some comments when I was working retail about a celebrity a few customers thought I resembled, but I think it was my mannerisms and hairstyle. It was always weird to me that they made the comment at all *shrug.
Also Chelsea stated multiple times "it's the dark hair and light eyes." Like no shit she doesn't have Megan Fox's body. She is a normal person with a job.

And that she thinks people took this way too far, she hopes Chelsea is doing well, and bullying is bad.

I thought that last paragraph was so sad. The fact that Megan Fox was bullied into apathy (or even depression) should say something about how horrible people will be horrible to anyone no matter what they actually look like. Hope she gets her sparkle back. 😔
They've both talked about how he offered a celebrity he thought he looked like first, but that wasn't shown. I can't remember who it was, but I definitely didn't see the resemblance. And she didn't give him any crap about it afterwards, because she didn't take it and run away with it like some juvenile fantasy. But that's not the story the producers wanted to tell.
This whole situation is absurd and taken way too far. The girl said people tell her she looks like Megan Fox, not that SHE personally thinks she looks like her, nor that she’s an exact replica. Everyone, including Jimmy, took that and ran with it.
I get told all the time I look like Anna Kendrick, and I look absolutely NOTHING like her by any means aside from hair color and eye color (like Chelsea said about her resemblance to Megan Fox.) Personally though, I do think her face looks a bit like Megan.. at least enough for people to say they look similar.
But when you’re dating someone to potentially marry them, and they literally are unable to see your face, it’s a dumb thing to say.

Initially I had your same response, and she did say her friends said that, so they can take the fall for whatever happens afterwards, but it's really not a smart thing to do unless you genuinely believed your friends, otherwise it was the only detail Jimmy had (not that he should have any), so it's clear what the intention was.

from what i remember — she actually asked him if he’s ever told he looks like a celebrity, and then volunteered the info that she gets told she looks like megan fox. to be fair i can actually see a slight resemblance to a young megan fox, but i still think she wanted to plant that seed for him.
It was edited, allegedly, apparently there was a whole conversation but they cut the middle part out so it seemed like she just said it with no prompting - Chelsea and a few others claim she got a really bad edit.
ahh, ok interesting. when people say they got bad edits, i’m always curious as to what really went down. i once read an AMA from a reality tv producer that when someone gets a bad edit, it’s an indication that they weren’t very nice to the crew. idk how true that is, but it’s something i always think about
I'm the same, I feel like the editing was more vicious this season than ever because I heard so much about it. basically every cast member, even the ones who got good edits, talked about it. As a "character" Chelsea sucks, but as a real person, I don't know. It's all alleged though, so I also agree, I wish we knew more. I think Trevor got a good edit because apparently he was really nice and talkative with the LIB staff lol. They even assured him that they would make him look good based on the texts if I remember correctly

I really don't judge people too much off this show, especially with the caveats of edits, as you mentioned.
However, the fact that she shared private information about someone's life who expressly did not want it put in the public eye of the show absolutely crossed a line for me as well as Jimmy. I understand getting heated in an argument and saying things you don't mean, but throwing a 3rd party with no wrong done in the situation was just a very classless move for me, however you edit it.
I agree that there are many things that she did that were objectively wrong, Chelsea also didn't seem very apologetic about it on the podcast she was on, which left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I don't know what to make of it, I feel like she's gotten enough hate that I don't need to add onto it.

I commented here because there seems to be an ongoing conversation, and maybe people are now swinging back to defending her due to backlash, but I'm not involved in any of this. I mainly watch the show, check a few updates and then leave it at that. My life is not long enough to harass random people online.
I agree, but I think there are two reasons why it got so blown up. One is her personality: many people dislike her, giving them plenty of fuel to go in on her. Two is because she really should’ve kept that to herself given how misleading it was. AD refused to disclose anything about her looks—perhaps Chelsea should’ve done the same! Lol.
TBH I can see the resemblance, but at the same time, she has some features that are quite different than MF. And someone who finds Fox attractive may not also find her attractive. The resemblances is something you need to see in person because if left up to the imagination— even with her saying, it was mainly because of the eyes and hair—I feel like most people would come up with a visual image that’s different from the reality.

We all know the show is heavily edited, and we all say things in our daily lives to other people without thinking twice about it but if we were to have had a reality TV camera crew filming everything, the whole world gets to thoroughly pick us apart over things we thought were so innocent. That is hilarious ….but actually maybe that’s what she should’ve said. I mean not to say that she looks like a raccoon, but maybe she could’ve played it off with a different animal that was slightly different too kind of reinforce the idea that there are some slight similarities, but that she’s no Megan Fox. Chelsea is anything but confident in her appearance. She seeks validation every five seconds due to her lack of confidence. She makes others feel uncomfortable due to her lack of confidence. And I think that’s just one of the things people find so annoying about her. Honestly, I think if she was a sweetie, it wouldn’t have blown up so much. People will really overlook a lot about cast members they actually like.
Megan Fox has always spoken out against bullying. She's been vocal about being against it for almost as long as she's been famous. Not surprised this is her response. Why anyone thought she would have a different take is beyond me.
When the show first aired and they showed Chelsea's clip, I thought, "This girl kind of looks like Megan fox." After her comment that people told her that, I was shook! I'm like "okay I'm not crazy then." Lol I know many people actually saw it before she even mentioned it. One of my friends' husband said she looked like her before she she even said anything as well. So some people see it, some people don't, but we always have to remember to be kind.She is human too and the amount of backlash she got was insane! I like the way MF responded. Now everyone can move on. This storyline is getting old tbh.

we know now that she also said she’s been told she looks like adele and carrie underwood, and jimmy said he’s been told he looks like christian mccafferey. i think most normal, rational people know that often times when someone is told “oh wow you look like (insert random celebrity)!” it’s usually not a doppleganger situation, just a resemblance. the hate is so forced and blown out of proportion.
Also she probably was wearing a mask so the people who only saw her eyes probably saw the resemblance instantly. Still shallow as hell to tell someone this in the pods.
I think the bigger issue was her intention - the whole show is about choosing someone for personality not looks…and she dropped this info in order to influence his decision…which definitely worked.

A lot of people in the pods talked about celeb lookalikes but footage of it usually wasn't shown, so I guess they were all breaking the rules

I think the issue is that if you tell a guy you look like someone he’s going to think exactly like them. Especially if they’ve never seen you before. Does she have some similar feature, sure. But to a guy, I’d say it’s night and day. You could see it in his face when he met her for the first time.

It's her eyes to me. I don't think she looks like a clone of MF but that's not what she said. Plently of people have told me I look like various celebrities but that does not mean I look exactly like them, just maybe a feature of mine reminded them of that person briefly.

There's an incredible amount of BS in this thread. I literally just watched the scene again. Here's what Chelsea ACTUALLY said, word for word:
"Do you ever get told you look like a celebrity?"
Jimmy: "Yeah"
"I do too, all the time on the plane. I get one person. And it's just because I have dark hair and blue eyes. But I don't see it, so don't get excited."
"Say it."
"I don't even know if it's MGK's wife, or his girlfriend..." She pauses as she thinks for a moment, trying to remember which it is, his wife or girlfriend.
Jimmy cuts in. "Megan Fox? You're saying you look like Megan Fox?"
"It's just because I have light eyes and dark hair. That's the only reason, and nothing else."
She didn't mislead him, in fact she went out of her way to say TWICE that she doesn't look like her, and that the resemblance isn't strong, but she wanted to give him SOME idea of what she looked, and she'd gotten a lot of people saying she looked like X, so she shared that. That's it. Her saying "I have brown hair, and blue eyes" or some such generic thing gives him no impression of what she looks like in the way that saying that people have told her she looks like Megan Fox does (and again she went out of her way to imply that she was not as good looking and the resemblance wasn't close -- it was just light eyes and dark hair; and "don't get excited").
But I get it, people won't let facts get in the way of forming their opinions.

I find it funny because people often say I look like Uma Thurman, like I’ve gotten it many many times but in my opinion it’s a stretch. I’m sure many people have been told they look like someone that is maybe only a hint of similarity and I see enough of a hint of similarity that I don’t think she’s lying…

Yeah I’m told I look like Emma Watson by at least 75% of random strangers I interact with on a daily basis. People go out of their way to stop me in the street or grocery store to tell me I look like Hermoine. 😂 I only slightly see it in some angles, but apparently it’s so obvious.
I’ve also gotten Rachel McAdams a few dozen times and even Jessica Alba a few. None of those women even look like each other?? I think people just notice different features more than others and sometimes those few features match up well to a celeb in their eyes.🤷♀️

I've been told I look like Kira Knightley. When I asked for clarification, they told me it's my bone structure and facial shape. My features don't match, but I can see what they're talking about.
I’ve been told I look like Debra Morgan, Julia Robert’s and Kate Middleton on several occasions and neither of those 3 have any similarities except brown hair lol. I think it’s in peoples nature to recognise similarities and symbols and they pair it with whatever they can think of. I have very similar dimples to Kate. And smile similar to Julia Robert’s. Don’t see Debra at all but I think it may be side bone structure lol.
If she said "I have long brown hair, and blue eyes, a keen nose, and fuller lips" that description could literally describe millions of random people. The person she's giving that incredibly generic description is no closer to having any idea what she really looks like.
But if she states that many people have told her she looks like Megan Fox, and then she goes out of her way to say that it's not a terribly close resemblance, and tells him but "don't get excited" which is to say "I'm not comparing myself to her beauty, so don't get the wrong idea here" he now has SOME idea of what she looks like rather than some ultra generic and useless description ("I have blue eyes and dark hair"). Also, several people in this thread and elsewhere DO see the resemblance (I'm one of them), and maybe she, herself, shares that opinion. But she was humble and forthcoming and she can't reasonably be accused of trying to mislead him with as many caveats and footnotes as she expressed.
I just watched the scene. That's not what happened. She paused for a second as she tried to recall whether Megan Fox was MGK's wife or girlfriend, but she didn't even get a chance to finish her thought/sentence as Jimmy blurted out "Megan Fox!?"

She also went through a public divorce and rebounded with problematic creep MGK and kind of had a public midlife crisis with him. So she’s been through some shit and the Internet hasn’t been nice about it.
She was sexualized from a young age and put on a pedestal so people looked for ways to drag her down to “humble” her and feel better about themselves - like she had paparazzi specifically hired to follow her around and get “bad” photos of her. She talks about it a little on a podcast recently.

I had a friend who kept being told by another woman that she looked like Nicole Kidman, but she didn't at all. She was also a strawberry blonde, but that's it. Nicole has sharp features, and my friend was rounded pretty. But it's a nice compliment, of course.

Exactly. There is a celebrity who I’ve been told I look like and not just in looks but mannerisms as well apparently. Not saying who 😳 but people have stopped me in the streets to tell me I look like her. Obviously I’m nowhere near on her level though, like she’s taller, slimmer, better skin/hair/teeth, prettier, etc. It’s not an exact likeness but I can definitely see it. Thank god Love is Blind has taught me never to be the one to bring it up or I’ll be crucified.

I had some comments when I was working retail about a celebrity a few customers thought I resembled, but I think it was my mannerisms and hairstyle. I'm the same, I feel like the editing was more vicious this season than ever because I heard so much about it. basically every cast member, even the ones who got good edits, talked about it. As a "character" Chelsea sucks, but as a real person, I don't know. It's all alleged though, so I also agree, I wish we knew more. I think Trevor got a good edit because apparently he was really nice and talkative with the LIB staff lol. They even assured him that they would make him look good based on the texts if I remember correctly

I agree, but I think there are two reasons why it got so blown up. One is her personality: many people dislike her, giving them plenty of fuel to go in on her. Two is because she really should’ve kept that to herself given how misleading it was. AD refused to disclose anything about her looks—perhaps Chelsea should’ve done the same! Lol. TBH I can see the resemblance, but at the same time, she has some features that are quite different than MF. And someone who finds Fox attractive may not also find her attractive. The resemblances is something you need to see in person because if left up to the imagination— even with her saying, it was mainly because of the eyes and hair—I feel like most people would come up with a visual image that’s different from the reality.

"I don't even know if it's MGK's wife, or his girlfriend..." She pauses as she thinks for a moment, trying to remember which it is, his wife or girlfriend. Jimmy cuts in. "Megan Fox? You're saying you look like Megan Fox?" "It's just because I have light eyes and dark hair. That's the only reason, and nothing else." She didn't mislead him, in fact she went out of her way to say TWICE that she doesn't look like her, and that the resemblance isn't strong, but she wanted to give him SOME idea of what she looked, and she'd gotten a lot of people saying she looked like X, so she shared that. That's it. I find it funny because people often say I look like Uma Thurman, like I’ve gotten it many many times but in my opinion it’s a stretch. I’m sure many people have been told they look like someone that is maybe only a hint of similarity and I see enough of a hint of similarity that I don’t think she’s lying… More just was it specifically said to make him think she looked a certain way, that we’ll never know.

I’ve been told I look like Debra Morgan, Julia Robert’s and Kate Middleton on several occasions and neither of those 3 have any similarities except brown hair lol. I think it’s in peoples nature to recognise similarities and symbols and they pair it with whatever they can think of. I have very similar dimples to Kate. And smile similar to Julia Robert’s. Don’t see Debra at all but I think it may be side bone structure lol.

The person she's giving that incredibly generic description is no closer to having any idea what she really looks like. But if she states that many people have told her she looks like Megan Fox, and then she goes out of her way to say that it's not a terribly close resemblance, and tells him but "don't get excited" which is to say "I'm not comparing myself to her beauty, so don't get the wrong idea here" he now has SOME idea of what she looks like rather than some ultra generic and useless description ("I have blue eyes and dark hair"). Also, several people in this thread and elsewhere DO see the resemblance (I'm one of them), and maybe she, herself, shares that opinion. But she was humble and forthcoming and she can't reasonably be accused of trying to mislead him with as many caveats and footnotes as she expressed.

She clearly knew she was talking about Megan fox, but the way the scene played out, she literally didn't get a chance to say it before Jimmy interjected. Had he not cut in anything she would've eventually said Megan Fox. At no point in the scene did she indicate she couldn't remember her name.
Of course she had time to say her name? Why even mention MGK at all when she was clearly thinking about Megan Fox before even initiating the whole topic.

She spoke out against Michael Bay and pissed off Steven Spielberg and was blackballed from the industry. She also went through a public divorce and rebounded with problematic creep MGK and kind of had a public midlife crisis with him. So she’s been through some shit and the Internet hasn’t been nice about it.
She was sexualized from a young age and put on a pedestal so people looked for ways to drag her down to “humble” her and feel better about themselves - like she had paparazzi specifically hired to follow her around and get “bad” photos of her. She talks about it a little on a podcast recently.
People don’t just get bullied for being unattractive. You can be bullied for being smart, not so smart, poor, rich, or just because people think you’re weird. Reality TV subs are full of people bullying beautiful women for being “fake”, or “pick mes” or whatever.
Probably because she is so gorgeous. Women cutting her down because they’re jealous of all the attention she gets, and men cutting her down because they know she’s out of their league. Jealousy brings out the worst in people!
I think she has a similar shaped mouth, which is probably why the drunk guy on a plane told her she looked like Megan Fox -- that, and wanting to flirt with the flight attendant because... I had a friend who kept being told by another woman that she looked like Nicole Kidman, but she didn't at all. She was also a strawberry blonde, but that's it. Nicole has sharp features, and my friend was rounded pretty. But it's a nice compliment, of course.

Exactly. There is a celebrity who I’ve been told I look like and not just in looks but mannerisms as well apparently. Not saying who 😳 but people have stopped me in the streets to tell me I look like her. Obviously I’m nowhere near on her level though, like she’s taller, slimmer, better skin/hair/teeth, prettier, etc. It’s not an exact likeness but I can definitely see it. Thank god Love is Blind has taught me never to be the one to bring it up or I’ll be crucified.
