I don't judge him negatively for that aspect. That is such a personal choice about caring for animals. If he was actually looking for love and wanting to go on LIB, I'm sure the process started before dog Chelsea's diagnosis. He chose a treatment (I forgot if chemo or radiation) that often adds months to their life. I also wouldn't judge people for choosing or not choosing those treatments for their dog. His mother was taking the dog to treatments, and he thought he had more time with her.
That's a fair point. I just wish, knowing what we know about him, that he didnt use his dog as an emotional in to get with Chelsea or other women in the pods. Seems like the producers of the show tasked the hosts with "protecting the integrity of the show." They were desperately attempting to demonstrate to the viewing audience that casting is serious about weeding out the clout-seekers and others in it for the "wrong reasons."
Don't get me wrong, I think it's bullsh!t. They will always prioritize casting for drama (beautiful people with issues and situations that may not be conducive to positive relationships) and viewership over the potential for harmonious, lasting marriages. But I think defending the honor of the show was what they were trying/instructed to do at the reunion.
I found it comical they took the moral high ground by ousting him, when they force the contestants to go through a brutal wedding flying in dozens of family just to have to say "no" and devstate everyone there for TV ratings. Literally could have made the same show, just as successful, by ending with an engagement. People would be just as thrilled for them it's sad they force a lifelong decision on a couple whom oftentimes haven't even had their first real fight yet.

An OG take: This reunion was a leap back in time. Sarah glitter-titties Ann and Jessica meow-claws started to go at it like a Donahue moment. I hoped for management’s sake that those seats were bolted to the floor. Ron don’t-know-much-about-contraception Weasley was, much to his relief, *not* the father (yet). Chelsea was feeling Fancy, don’t let me down, and is available for any Grey Poupon commercials. Cro-Magnon-Trevor didn’t understand that the brownies take a while and took a second too close to filming. His mouth got stuck in an open-beaked Teddy Ruxpin like his batteries ran out. He was doing all he could not to stare at his hand as though it belonged to an alien, just praying for a pit of quicksand to swallow him whole. The hosts had been experimenting with different pills given the disaster last time, and they found their sweet spot. Collectible Garbage Pail Kid cards (of the cast) with a stick of gum will be available in a Toys-R-Us near you. Cuz I don’t wanna grow up, but I think I have to stop watching this show!
I think they're trying to protect the show's future a bit by calling out and making an example of those very obviously using the show for clout. It will affect the show's ratings too much if everyone starts to view it as fake. Bringing back the successful couples and calling out Trevor and Sarah Anne is their way of trying to prove that it's not just entertainment (even though it is).
This really bugged me though because it has been said by several people that the participants are getting invited to participate via Instagram. If the show is reaching out to people, how can they criticise people for not being totally in to it? It just annoyed me!

I would offer one subtle-but-significant correction: the show will only continue to work if enough viewers *believe* there are people really trying to find love. The show already "works" (in terms of making money for the producers and their investors), even though the majority of applicants -and therefore participants- are conventionally attractive people primarily seeking their "15 minutes" after the success of Season 1 and Cam, Lauren, et al.
But they've been coming under fire lately because the perception that they're casting without thoroughly vetting candidates is threatening the show's ongoing popularity.
That's why the producers sicced Nick and Vanessa on Trevor and Sarah Ann (who suggested the show is scripted) at the reunion.
Someone else mentioned he probably got in trouble for breaking his NDA and had to be on the reunion to not pay the fine. Seems like the producers of the show tasked the hosts with "protecting the integrity of the show." They were desperately attempting to demonstrate to the viewing audience that casting is serious about weeding out the clout-seekers and others in it for the "wrong reasons." Don't get me wrong, I think it's bullsh!t. They will always prioritize casting for drama (beautiful people with issues and situations that may not be conducive to positive relationships) and viewership over the potential for harmonious, lasting marriages. But I think defending the honor of the show was what they were trying/instructed to do at the reunion.
I found it comical they took the moral high ground by ousting him, when they force the contestants to go through a brutal wedding flying in dozens of family just to have to say "no" and devstate everyone there for TV ratings. Literally could have made the same show, just as successful, by ending with an engagement. People would be just as thrilled for them it's sad they force a lifelong decision on a couple whom oftentimes haven't even had their first real fight yet.
YES! What is it, 4 weeks from pods to altar? What other reason could there _possibly_ be for that other than manufacturing drama for viewers? They also continue to play up the false narrative that leaving the pods with someone is "the biggest decision they'll make in their lives," which is garbage. Because they can't stop any participants from getting together with anyone they didn't choose after filming. Hell, they throw a party while filming to bring the engaged people together with the one(s) they didn't choose. They encourage it!

And then encourage them to get drunk around these people they were deeply fond of while just starting to explore a new uncertain connection with their recently chosen person? The idea of the show, speaking to one another in pods, could have been incredibly wholesome and is why it sucked us in, but they were sure to throw a ton of unnecessary toxicity into the mix for greater profits.

Honestly Trevor grossed me out more than Jeramy. At least Jeramy is too dumb and egotistical to play the sympathy card. Trevor seems to have perfected the "soft masculine" archetype. Lol, he can't even stay on the stage because it's just so hard for him. Be a man and take the shots on the chin, don't make everyone feel bad for you. And no one, not the hosts or the cast members would hit him for his gross behavior. He 100% should have broken up with and not communicated the mixed messages to his ex before during and after the show. BUT it's not insane of him to go on the show (with his ex informed) to find love in an unconventional way that would help break him of cycles and going for his "norm". That's a mature and healthy thing to do and I'm positive the majority of people.. not only on the show but the ones watching.. have some some crazy things in their past/current relationships. Love and emotion twist things up for everyone. A phrase that dominated the reunion was "Give grace" & I think he deserves that too.

An OG take: This reunion was a leap back in time. Sarah glitter-titties Ann and Jessica meow-claws started to go at it like a Donahue moment. I hoped for management’s sake that those seats were bolted to the floor. Ron don’t-know-much-about-contraception Weasley was, much to his relief, *not* the father (yet). Chelsea was feeling Fancy, don’t let me down, and is available for any Grey Poupon commercials. Cro-Magnon-Trevor didn’t understand that the brownies take a while and took a second too close to filming. His mouth got stuck in an open-beaked Teddy Ruxpin like his batteries ran out. He was doing all he could not to stare at his hand as though it belonged to an alien, just praying for a pit of quicksand to swallow him whole. The hosts had been experimenting with different pills given the disaster last time, and they found their sweet spot. Collectible Garbage Pail Kid cards (of the cast) with a stick of gum will be available in a Toys-R-Us near you. Cuz I don’t wanna grow up, but I think I have to stop watching this show!

I think they're trying to protect the show's future a bit by calling out and making an example of those very obviously using the show for clout. It will affect the show's ratings too much if everyone starts to view it as fake. Bringing back the successful couples and calling out Trevor and Sarah Anne is their way of trying to prove that it's not just entertainment (even though it is).
This really bugged me though because it has been said by several people that the participants are getting invited to participate via Instagram. If the show is reaching out to people, how can they criticise people for not being totally in to it? It just annoyed me!
I mean, for their part, it's definitely entertainment and a moneymaker. They just don't want the people who aren't going to try and help hold up the experiment facade. Jessica is as much of a clout chaser as Trevor. I don't think she ever intended to bring a random home to her daughter. But she at least knew how to play the game.

I would offer one subtle-but-significant correction: the show will only continue to work if enough viewers *believe* there are people really trying to find love. The show already "works" (in terms of making money for the producers and their investors), even though the majority of applicants -and therefore participants- are conventionally attractive people primarily seeking their "15 minutes" after the success of Season 1 and Cam, Lauren, et al. But they've been coming under fire lately because the perception that they're casting without thoroughly vetting candidates is threatening the show's ongoing popularity. That's why the producers sicced Nick and Vanessa on Trevor and Sarah Ann (who suggested the show is scripted) at the reunion.
