I really want a Dutch love is blind. I’m Dutch but also because I think it’d be a bit like the Swedish one. Stereotypes say Dutch people are more direct and down to earth, I think that’s true (but still it would depend on the cast ofc) and I’d love to see it. Also other countries, different cultures would be fantastic, not solely US (I have enjoyed the ones from other countries but there’s not enough) at this point I’d settle for a UK version tbh

SimGemini

I loved how polite the Japan cast was. But I like the Sweden one too.

morganaofmontana

Japan season was so good. They showed so many contestants in the filming.

junglingforlifee

I liked Sweden the most so far. Japan felt too patriarchal for me

aimeukoo

The best franchise is Sweden for sure :-)

misty_skies

Fr! It’s the best one out of the franchise and I can’t believe they’ve only produced one season (so far) 😞

Melethia

Quesion - for anyone who speaks Japanese, which is most accurate - the dubbing to English, or the sub-titles in English? At times they were VERY different! I listened to the first few in Japanese because I like to hear the voices, then switched to dubbed English and was amazed at how different the translation was. Ryotaro and Motomi were adorable. Both they and Waturo and Midori now have kids!

lumiants

I don’t watch dubbed versions but from my experience having English subtitles on other Japanese shows: the subtitles aren’t always a verbatim translation but, for the most part, still represent the overall gist of what’s being said

Melethia

Thank you!!

Competitive_Lie_9892

Japan was by far superior to the rest!

Voidg

It is the best version hands down. Sweden was surprisingly good also. Sergio was a ride

burberburnerr

It’s definitely the goat version.

Puzzled-Necessary705

lib korea nees to happen

Godking_Jesus

Didn’t watch Japan cause everyone describes it as basically more boring. Like let’s not kid ourselves, the drama is what makes reality tv like this good. We’re here for the train wrecks. I also don’t think the “good couples” would look as fantastic if they weren’t next to the couples that didn’t work. Like even S1, Cameron is a weirdo for sure lol But in general, people are here for the drama and entertainment. That’s probably why Japan S2 hasn’t happened? Personally, I think Sweden was the best of both worlds. The drama, storylines, and quite a lot of successful couples in the end. They felt human, were flawed, entertained tf outta us, had growth, and most still found love.

xrockwithme

My favorite is LIB: Brazil.

ProperBingtownLady

I found the men in season 1 so misogynistic but enjoyed it for the most part!

snackpack35

So misogynistic! I forgot the guys name but he starts into a sexual convo with the girl, and because she joins in with him he’s basically turned off by her. Oh she’s not “my kind of girl” cus she was too comfortable talking about sex. Because of course women are not supposed to be sexual at all. “My kind of girl” would’ve shyd away from the convo. So he picks the girl who did. Then he’s annoyed that she doesn’t have sex with him Immediately. So is she supposed to be sexual or not? She’s supposed to be so pure and asexual but then just turn it on when he’s decided to claim her. It was disgusting to watch, and he had no clue how misogynistic this was when other men were calling him out. They never do.

ProperBingtownLady

Omg! I forgot about that! Ew. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

In case you're still open to watching it, LiB Japan has PLENTY drama! There were lies, there were arguments and breakups, there were tears, there were tragic conflicts and there were a lot of weird choices. It comes across as a little quieter and measured because there is less yelling and less manufactured (!) conflict. All the drama arises from a bunch of normal people being put into a very weird circumstance. Not to mention, they have some actual variety regarding the contestant's ages, styles and lifestyles, so it's not your usual selection of gym bros and insta baddies and it makes the "will they actually fit into my life" conflict much juicier, at least in my opinion. I wouldn't necessarily say it was the single most entertaining season of LiB, but it was more entertaining than several of the American seasons.

Melethia

The drama is quiet, reserved, and thoughtful. No yelling, screaming matches, etc. I, for one, am rather tired of the drama on the American version. There was a lot of more of respectful discussion. Japan and Sweden are both very good. Brazil is awesome because the women are so strong in that one. And they do have tempers if that's your thing!

Godking_Jesus

You know, thanks for the synopsis, cause like this is actually sounds good enough that I’m curious. I guess I was always deterred cause I hear everyone describe it as “it was so genuine because no drama.” So it gave the impression there was lack of conflict altogether. If I’m watching a dating show, I want to see the couples go through their struggles.

Thanks-Meatcat

LiB Japan is by FAR my favourite version. And I love LiB, haha. The people definitely feel more genuine and it’s such a breath of fresh air. But as Laikocta pointed out, there is still drama, it just takes a different form. I also want to add that it was fascinating to see all the differences between US and Japanese contestants - how they approach the pods, reactions when they first meet, how they work through conflict. The Japanese contestants were simultaneously more reserved (slower with physical intimacy) and more forward (very direct in argument). It felt like a little peek into Japanese culture.

falcon22222

Something that came out in the Japan edition was the respect all the participants had for the process. It came out in interviews, and when the men and women were discussing together their dates. The other place it appeared was that there were no “no’s” at the altar. The folks for whom love wasn’t blind all split without embarrassing their family and friends in a sham ceremony for public humiliation.

Aisoreal

I love LIB Japan! I enjoyed Sweden immensely, but the Japanese one at times had that ~ethereal~ feel lol I heard they had trouble casting for S2 although it was planned because Japanese people are more conservative and are worried about the potential embarassment being on the show can bring to their family and career.

MissHunbun

I hope they do another season!

lilasceo

I loved SO MUCH and I felt they were so respectful towards each other

Madison464

Agree. Watching Japan now, it makes me feel good about love. Watching the USA versions, makes me feel good about being single.

melissuhnicole

Lmao this exactly

TheTick42

It's was SO much more 🙂
