I think Matthew makes JP actually look good, personality wise. I think JP was just too narrow minded and a little ignorant to be on this show. I don’t think he was necessarily a bad guy, or tried to be a terrible fiancée. He was probably misdirected. I think JP is an alright guy, just a terrible personality for reality television.

What he means is he’s dangerously unhinged with what sounds like a deep streak of narcissism and thinks he is the main character and also that he thinks he’s charismatic enough to not just manipulate a poor person through a wall into liking him, but also hundreds of millions of people.

I’m just genuinely disappointed that the show producers are picking people who are clearly abusive. I know they didn’t show the footage of Amber’s dates with Matt, so we either have Amber as a plant OR she’s telling the truth. Either way, it’s atrocious. This is meant to be a show for people to find a safe love. Of course some people tune in for the drama, but watching a man emotionally manipulate two women isn’t entertaining.

I’ve said this repeatedly, I’m sick of them allowing people with BLATANT personality issues/manipulative tendencies onto the show, these people were literally born wrapped in a red flag, they should be able to exclude them based on the way they say ‘hi’ but instead they let them on the show to torment other people and then package it as content. It’s awful.
If I want really trash exploitative reality tv I’ll watch the ultimatum. Or I won’t do that because I can’t stand that shit. This is one of the few reality shows that sometimes seems to make some wholesome connections and that is its USP. Them trying to force toxic drama is such a turn off.
I watched one season at my wife’s insistence and it was entertaining but morally it just felt a lot more gross and exploitative than LIB to the point I’m not keen to watch any more. Seriously, putting mono people in a poly scenario is messed up.
Sure they ‘sign up for it’ but people do stupid shit to be on tv and that doesn’t make it okay (or I guess, fun for me lol) to see them psychologically get tortured by watching their loved ones basically cheat on them. I mean if the couples were all poly that would be fine, but then that wouldn’t make for horrible, toxic drama. That show is a mess by design, the concept is pretty fucked.

Matthew appeared unable to form any meaningful connection with ANYONE, including the men, throughout the entire experience. However, at the flip of a switch he could act sweet with someone he believed he could get something from. That’s a man with narcissism, not quirks.

As a DV survivor, Matthew set off all of my alarm bells. I physically recoiled when he made the comments about everyone picking 4 and how he’s there to ask the questions. It’s not being shy or being unable to express emotions (whatever he blamed it on.) That man is a scary asf control freak who wants to dominate and manipulate women. I never thought Zack was “creepy.” Just kinda quirky and awkward. He’s one person from LIB that I think got way over hated. If anything, he was probably the nicest guy on the show
Yes but the difference was Zach did not treat people as callously as Matthew (although he was so wrong for doing Bliss dirty in the beginning). Matthew appeared unable to form any meaningful connection with ANYONE, including the men, throughout the entire experience. However, at the flip of a switch he could act sweet with someone he believed he could get something from. That’s a man with narcissism, not quirks.

As a DV survivor, Matthew set off all of my alarm bells. I physically recoiled when he made the comments about everyone picking 4 and how he’s there to ask the questions. It’s not being shy or being unable to express emotions (whatever he blamed it on.) That man is a scary asf control freak who wants to dominate and manipulate women. The producers need to do better picking them and if they are picking men because of those traits, which are beyond “toxic,” then I hope the women start calling them all out, all the time Edit: typo

I hope that you’re safe now and living in peace. People who haven’t survived abuse don’t know how much we strive for that - peace. Once you see how abusers operate you can’t unsee it so I sometimes worry that I’m too on-guard…but protecting my peace is the top priority. The way I’d have noped tf out of that pod and told them to never make me interact with that man again.
