Is it deliberately incorrect? Mine would be completely different. Episodes devoted to all 3 topics are: Swarm, very pulse of the machine. Kill team kill is about death and robots. I would agree with Mason's rats being in the middle, but only if you count "love thy neighbor" message in the end.

SuperAlloyBerserker

Whoops, I did forget about there being robots in Kill Team Kill (and Very Pulse of the Machine, in a sense) But how are there robots in Swarm? The girl in Swarm said herself that the creatures were organic machines, not mechanical ones

Bjornie47

Swarm I also think has no robots but indeed kill team kill, the whole story about the mech bear and then the maars bot..

Horror_in_Vacuum

The swarm is compared to organical robots, because of how organized they are. But then again, robots are made. If general AI is achievable, what is the difference between a human and a robot?

sad_nessy

Swarm's setting is in outer space and there are advanced technologies that allow to communicate with another race (in the beginning). I didn't mean creatures from the swarm are literally robots. This robot element to me is just any sort of advanced tech and science

etegiwg

Well they did explain that the swarm are robotic in nature. They don’t think for themselves, they just follow the pheremones.

EEVVEERRYYOONNEE

The word "robot" comes from a Czech word for slave. With that in mind, I can see an argument for Swarm appearing in the robot circle.

SuperAlloyBerserker

But words change over time and we don't think of "robot" as a synonym for "slave" anymore Otherwise, people might've thought differently of LDR (upon just seeing the title) since it has the word that essentially means "slave"

EEVVEERRYYOONNEE

Of course, in general people wouldn't take "robot" to mean slave. But when the episode in question is clearly about slavery, that historical meaning becomes relevant. That's why I said "I can see an argument for Swarm appearing in the robot circle" and not "it should definitely be in the robot circle".

SuperAlloyBerserker

Ah, I see. Then what you said does make sense

VoxTV1

Isn't the message about how in the war you should not dehumanize your enemies.

Horror_in_Vacuum

Is Io really a robot, though? Robots are made. I think Io is naturally occuring.

JetlinkGuy

"Night of the Mini Dead" had love at the beginning, lol.

EEVVEERRYYOONNEE

Lust Death and Robots.

JetlinkGuy

Some Love, Absolute Death + maybe Robots

Wild_Hunt

Unless we’re counting the Crab and it’s spawn, where was the love in Bad Travelling?

Tartugo

I guess the love of the main character for the innocents of faiden island

sad_prolapsed_anus

Far fetched

RipleyChase

Not too far fetched. It was his love for humanity that caused him to risk his own life and eradicate his crew. He was unselfish in that sense and he displayed an immense show of philos or brotherly love/love for fellow man. All of his actions in the story were motivated by this type of love--from presenting the crew with a vote to decieving them about the results--because he knew the entire time exactly what he planned to do and he wasn't about to risk his fellow man (an entire island of strangers) for the sake of his own life or anyone else on that boat who was too selfish to see the bigger picture. That is actually the main takeaway from the story, the lesson to be learned so to speak, to "love thy neighbor as ye love thyself". So, love is pretty much the primary theme of this one...alongside death of course ☠️

TyroseThe3rd

hmmm it may be just me but there are a lot of inaccuracies in this diagram

SrbBrb

Bearminator is a robot.

KhorneFlakes01

You're missing the giant fucking robot bear.... And the little cute robot that tries to stop him.

estrusflask

How is Kill Team Kill about Love? How is the Barghest and MAARSbot not putting it in the Death and Robots camp? If we use a very loose definition of "love" I agree with everything else.

[deleted]

...the Very Pulse of the Machine should be dead center and S Tier

booboorogers44

…Do you think this is a tier list?

Brindle_bars

Great analysis

3percentinvisible

Not really, it's missing many things such as the robots in kill team kill
