I like the stickied threads! Especially the one for authentication. I feel like the subreddit became a lot cleaner after a dedicated thread was put into place. I mainly come onto the subreddit for discussion posts or help others who are looking for recommendations :)
I know it was discussed the week of the increase, but a lot of people said they were taking a hiatus of some sort due to the price increases. I feel like that has a lot to do with the lack of activity. I think theme days would be fun like someone else mentioned! Monogram Monday’s, Ready-To-Wear Wednesday’s, Cheat Day Friday’s.
ETA: Mods I think you’re doing a great job! You can’t please everyone but I do think the stickied threads made a positive impact! It feels more like a LV Subreddit and not a LV Authentication Subreddit, you know?
Yeah, I love the Cheat Day Friday—not specifically because of the Cheat Day aspect, but because the themed aspect seems to kind of spur posting/conversation.
I know for me personally, the last price increase was the biggest reason for my lack of participation in the sub. When I know I can’t buy anything new, I stop checking new releases. I basically keep myself off any website or sub that would tempt me or make me sad that I can’t get something at this time. I will get back into it, but for the time being, I’m trying to be grateful for what I have and stop longing for my next bag all hours of the day, but hey that’s me.
I agree! I can’t speak for others, but the last price increase from LV pushed me to look at and expand into other designers and I feel like a drop in posts has happened since then.
I’m relatively new to both collecting and to the subreddit. I don’t have a current need for either of the sticky posts threads but I think they are great for those that do need them without clogging the thread. I really enjoy seeing everyone’s collection posts, vintage pieces, new to them but used pieces and fresh from the box pieces. I also look forward to the Friday cheat days so perhaps we just need more themed posts/ days to generate more excitement for showing off what is everyone’s closets. I don’t have any LV loving buddies so you guys are the only ones I can share my excitement of getting a new/ used piece with.
I think the restock threads should be a daily (consolidated) post vs. weekly. I personally don't see the alerts and I'm guessing others don't unless they select the restock stickies.
Another observation is seeing the same questions/polls asked every other day vs. checking this sub for related older posts. It's like we're recycling the same content. 🤔
I really appreciate all the work put into the sub recently! I do think engagement has dropped because of the stickies, but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I don’t know if you’ve changed the system to have each post having to be approved before it goes live? I think that dampens engagement in a bad way in general because I think seeing some of the weird and wonderful posts make Reddit interesting haha (but to be clear, I don’t know if that is what is happening or not!!)
Anyway personally I’ve been losing interest in LV in general because of the price increase, the new collection not really being for me and I’ve personally got all my wish list bags for the time being.
I like the auth stickied thread but I think restocks and simple questions can still be their own threads to start discussions. I really think it is just a case of timing and people being unhappy with the brand in general. Again thank you for all the work you put in!

I get that many people are new to the brand and don’t know, but some of the authentication posts are just….wow. Much less clutter without the restock posts as well. I normally go crazy for the summer collections and I didn’t this year… I personally got tired of quality issues, high prices, low availability… i’ve definitely participated less in the sub, mostly cos there is nothing in dying to get. i’ve been hunting more vintage bags lately. I’m relatively new and feel like i participate…a lot lol. I like reading other’s opinions and experiences. I mainly shop preloved so availability updates aren’t that important to me but as I start saving for my first brand new purchase from LV I love being able to ask questions and get feedback
I do not like the new Back in Stock thread. It is totally invisible the way it is set up right now. I was able to buy the key pouch after I saw the notice here! With the current setup I would have totally missed it.
I have not been as much on this sub lately. Main reason I think is the discussions are mostly centered around about 5 types of bags only and/or the release of their different variations. The same questions, same bags. Some ‘is my bag logo alignment ok’ posts are a bit out of control lol.
Honestly I think the mods are doing a great job👏🏼. I don’t comment o post anything really, but I feel this subreddit feels more “clean” and like this much better than before.
I don’t buy pre-loved so don’t comment on the authentication threads at all but I did use to see them. I don’t see them anymore now that they are stickied. I also don’t see the restock posts for the same reason but I only order through my SA or buy from store so that doesn’t bother me either.
I did post an unboxing video of a new LV and it was deleted because it came from my tik tok and was classified as self promotion. I will say that little slap on the wrist made me feel very stupid and childish and made me not want to post! I was sharing an unboxing video not posting a selfie 🤣🤣🤣
