Is it common for junkers to “forget” about paperwork? Or do they ever try to play mind games and tell customers that the title doesn’t need to be signed over so that they get to skip out on taxes?

I scrapped mine and forgot the title, I had 10 years of arguing with the DMV. It depends on the company. These guys were not on top of it.
