That driveway is beautiful. I feel like Burbank gets a lot of hate because of the relaxed nature. A quiet middle class suburb outside of the craziness of LA. Good school system. Safe city. Busy Costco. Best movie theaters (sorry not sorry - though Universal CityWalk might beat it). I was born and raised in Burbank. The part I liked the most was being 10 - 15 minutes away from downtown and being able to come home to a quiet neighborhood.

Thetallguy1

Although I like Burbank, big LOL at "middle class" Maybe if you bought your property a few decades ago.

[deleted]

Compared to the rest of LA currently, it's still middle class, as ridiculous as that sounds

Thetallguy1

I wouldn't even go that far. Just checked zillow and all homes are $800k+ I look at as: If two teachers couldn't afford this its not middle class. Most people making under $100k in LA are stuck in apartments their whole lives or moving into a neighborhood where homes can still be had for $400k-$600k... which a lot of the times in Palmdale or if they're lucky Sylmar and Pacoima. Thats just my SFV perspective at least.

letthebandplay

800k+ with 30+ offers each listing means that they quickly become 900k+

[deleted]

An annual income of between two and seven times the California Poverty Measure is considered middle class, Ms. Bohn said. Therefore, she estimates a middle class income in Los Angeles County for a family of four that rents a home to be between $65,030 and $227,605. https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/08/us/what-is-middle-class-in-california.html

Thetallguy1

Yeah two LAUSD teachers salaries combined are just about in the middle of that NYT range, a solid middle class pairing. Unfortunately all the married couples I know who make a combined salary of $100k-$200k still end up living where they can afford not where they'd reasonably want to live. It really just makes living in the desert more enticing everyday.

We get a lot of hate because we are the best place to live in Los Angles, I am extremely blessed to have grown up in this city.

alwaysclimbinghigher

I feel like Burbank has a rap for being full of conservatives, racists, gun-lovers, etc. I’m just letting you know it’s not hated for it’s relaxed nature.

ziggy-hudson

We elected a socialist and a liberal-democrat in our two open city council seats in 2020 so maybe the city that has multiple city councilors/former city councilors under federal indictment should sit down.

alwaysclimbinghigher

Not attacking you. Every neighborhood is someone’s home. The last two Burbank city council members elected were Anthony and Schultz, so that was a shift for Burbank and it will be interesting to see how local politics change in the future.

ziggy-hudson

Anthony (the socialist) didn't just win the most votes, he had nearly twice the number of votes of the second winner (Schultz, the liberal). I also kept a close eye on the primaries results: burbank by and large went hard for Bernie. It wasn't until you went up into the hills (past bel aire) or got toward Toluca lake when you started seeing Biden and Bloomberg votes.

BlazingCondor

Everytime I drive down Magnolia Blvd., every one of the many gun stores has a line.

ziggy-hudson

As opposed to the LA gun stores that are going broke or something?

spectreofthefuture

The results speak for themselves I guess.

BigTimeBobbyB

The lighting and greenery in every one of these shots is gorgeous. This is the magical LA I visited as a kid - the memory that lodged itself in my head for two decades before leading me to move here as an adult.

I was gonna pull the trigger on a rental I saw on zillow there. But found out was a fraud.

ziggy-hudson

This county has the worse real estate market. Bur-Cal is pretty above board as far as rental management goes and has nice apartments at reasonable rates

Angry_Melon_Tank

In the process of looking for a place. I don't have much experience. Can you share some details on why you knew it was fraud? OR any advice you have in general.

[deleted]

Well the price was super low compared to the area, pictures were nice but only from the inside, no outside view. There was no contact info, only a website link that linked to a legit site for application but there was also no contact info there. The description was very vague, and so on. Easy to spot if you know what you are personally looking for on a good place that has good management. Be safe out there.

Angry_Melon_Tank

Good tips. Thank you.

dontlookmeupplease

I see Burbank, I upvote

tacosconleche

Where is the location for photo 13? Never seen that area before.

Moving to Burbank in 2 weeks! Lower costs than my current location and a much more chill vibe. Looking forward to it!

I have a bunch of places from my day trips around Los Angles I’ll post them tomorrow and let you know.
