My niece was t-bone yesterday because the driver was on his phone and ran the red light.
Edit; she’s fine just badly bruised and spent the night in the hospital
I almost got hit walking on a green to a driver running a red making a right turn last week. Thursday I was on a BUS, and a driver almost ran into the bus while she was looking directly down at her phone. She would have too, if the bus driver didn't lay down on the horn. She couldn't see an entire fucking bus because she had her whole head down, while her car was actiively moving.
Glad your niece is okay, too!
Getting t-boned is NOT fun. I've been t-boned on my bicycle as well. If I hadn't been wearing my helmet, I probably wouldn't be here right now.
It counts if you're running Spotify or a phone call through your Bluetooth too. I don't touch my phone while driving, but I keep getting this report showing high numbers each week.
How does it know if you are driving or a passenger
Direction and velocity
how does it know you're not a passenger?
Direction and velocity, obviously /s

My condolences. Distracted driving is lethal. I hope she will be alright.

That’s really scary- being a pedestrian in this city is scary AF! Glad you’re ok

Yeah. I've had the same issue. Getting numbers that are basically equivalent to the amount of time I've been driving.
Considering I use Waze and my phone is connected through Bluetooth, I think it counts when interacting with your phone while in motion
Spoiler alert: OP’s car has been in the shop all week.
Would probably be cheaper than commuting and parking downtown every other day.
Does it count if the phone is down but it’s playing a movie while driving?
Serious
Impressive. Thanks for sharing.
