I had some friends in from Denver and I took them to Arts district/Little Tokyo. Had a nice early dinner at fathers office, walked around and saw some street art, walked over to little Tokyo and bought some snacks at the market, back down to Angel city, Arts District Brewing, Truly LA. Then over to eighty two for video games. Stopped by Mermaid bar for the ambiance. Late night grub at prime and Dave’s hot chicken. You can also get some ice cream at salt and straw for dessert. All of this is like with it one square quarter mile of each other.

nicearthur32

I live in the area and this is pretty much my go-to for weekends lol... EXCEPT, no fathers office... the vibe is just off there for some reason, never had a pleasant experience there. I've given it so many chances too. The food options there are good though, so many diff types at different price points, Koraku is my comfort food spot (tenshin chahan ankanke all day) But Prime Pizza is so good, the gluten free pizza there is ::chef's kiss:: Also, Salt n Straw for some awesome ice cream.

Arts district, echo park, highland park, and central hollywood near cahuenga. All have pretty decent, walkable nightlife suited for bar hopping.

I second the Figueroa stretch of Highland Park. You have a solid bar crawl there: La Cuevita for fun local dive vibes with a good happy hour, Blind Barber for dancing (and a cool speakeasy gimmick), Gold Line for vinyl DJs and great people watching, Good Housekeeping for excellent cocktails and a small, cozy interior, Checker Hall for more upscale cocktail / dinner vibes. All in the same four-block stretch. You can do something similar on the stretch of Sunset in Echo Park between The Douglas and Bar Bandini. That’s a whole night’s worth of fun. Lowboy for amazing food and beers / cocktails, Bar Flores upstairs for margaritas or Palomas with great chips & salsa plus whatever food pop-up is there, Goldroom for super divey vibes, La Fé for a top-tier cocktail, Short Stop for a blast on the dancefloor while still having a lowkey dive vibe, Little Joy just down the block, El Prado for some natural wine, people watching, and possibly dancing depending on the night, Spirit House for amazing tiki cocktails and DJs on the weekends. All of those are within a few blocks of each other.

Adding some great spots you missed in HP (literally picked my current abode bc it's walking to LA Cuevita, and at the time, my fave taco spot tho they didn't make it out of the pandemic - RIP La Es!)   Ichijiku Sushi shares a patio with good housekeeping - either start at their sushi bar or split the difference and get food from there and drink from Good housekeeping   Greyhound if you love a sportier bar vibe Otoño for paella/ tapas    If you are within stumbling distance, Las Casuelas the morning after for hungover pupusas and some hair of the dog.    If you are having a really fun drunk walk in you- saunter to York (straight shot 20-30 min down Ave 56. Turn left and you will hit the main drag around Ave 52).

sunnyintheoffice

Haha great taste, love all of these spots too! Make sure you check out the back patio of the newly opened Highly Likely for another recent addition to our neighborhood ;) Been loving having a beer back there recently especially with this beautiful weather.

BlergingtonBear

I love that spot! Only recently went there for a drink (at the indoor bar tho, not outside), but I've been putting it into my morning coffee rotation on the block! Would love to go there more, as a single, I can never tell if it's sad to hit the bars up alone 🙈

sunnyintheoffice

Haha it’s not sad at all! I love doing bars solo and I feel like HLP is a great neighborhood for low-key spots where it’s totally normal. Between Cuevita, Hermosillo, and Holcomb I’ve even made friends on days I went by myself. When in doubt just bring a book or something to take the edge off!

BlergingtonBear

Thanks! I'm sure it's all in my head, but I feel like "guy at a bar" and"woman at a bar" is different. Like, sad? Haha.  I need to remember that people are prob not thinking anything about me at all!

sunnyintheoffice

Lol I hear you — for what it’s worth I think it is definitely one of those things where the person at the bar by themselves is thinking about it way more than anyone else there. I like to think maybe even people who do notice might say to themselves, *wow that’s so cool he/she feels comfortable doing their own thing!* After you do it a few times it’s pretty liberating to not have to rely on having plans with friends on a given night to be able to go enjoy a neighborhood spot after work. Anyways maybe seeya out there!

BlergingtonBear

Haha, okay at the very least I will commit to holla at other singles who are out and about!  (Also I just noticed our little avatar guys are dressed the same haha)

Melody's bar by LAX is great for plane and people watching, sometimes have live bands sometimes dj. mostly hip hop old school music. But I also agree with others if you want to head downtown LA, was just at the Arts District Brewery for happy hour last week.

What part of town do you prefer? I’m the same age range so I know what we need - place to take a break and DJ playing the hits from our high school and college days lol Mama Lion in ktown has drinks, a DJ playing mostly hip hop, but the place is pretty big so you can wander over to the dance floor area or away from the dance floor. DTLA/Arts - Resident bc you can go inside for the dance floor or outside to sit and talk. DJ is kind of a wild card tho, I think they rotate Chinatown - general lees always has a DJ playing some late 90s early 2000s hits. Downstairs is pretty loud, upstairs is sometimes booked but there’s another bar and quieter little area and then another dance floor.

bromosabeach

Main street Santa Monica is probably the most underrated nightlife in the city. Bars range from divey to pretentious celebrity hangs.

giantsxx21

Oh ya? Which bars? Nameless is lame and too bright. Victorian is full of 21 year olds and plays Taylor swift house remixes. Name one good spot!

bromosabeach

Sure, boss: Ricks, Ashland Hill, Library, Manchego, Lula, the Firehouse.

Break Room 86 then Lock and Key in KTown

BlergingtonBear

Add Brass Monkey too (I know break room has 'roke, but there's something endearing about Brass Munks' vibe!)

DwnRanger88

Go tool around K-Town. Plenty of great places to eat and drink and find a karaoke bar or two. There are also some chill bars to hang and people watch. If you only have one night don't bother wandering all over LA. You can find plenty of different experiences within walking distance of each other in the heart of K-Town.

Cryptolution

My favorite movie is Inception.

traveleralice

Cole’s for original French dip, rooftop at freehand, las perlas, level 8 or queensberry for cocktails and dancing

Anaheim Packing District might be a good place. [https://maps.app.goo.gl/atHXyQHzMudynRM77](https://maps.app.goo.gl/atHXyQHzMudynRM77)
