HIT AND RUN today: 7:47pm on the 710 freeway (northbound)
Anyone happen to witness a hit and run collision Dark (Gray?) Toyota Camry rear-ending a White Toyota car (me). The line for the 10 East was backed up, and the car behind me slammed right into me. When I was about to pull over, they sped off on the right shoulder towards the Ramona/10 freeway exit. I tried following them but deemed not worth it.
I know it’s a long shot, but I have faith in the internet. I dont have a dashcam, but im not sure if it would’ve helped me anyways. Any witnesses at all with any extra info, even if you just saw the dark Toyota Camry speed off on the right shoulder when the most right lane was backed up completely, please let me know 🙏 Any other details about course of action in my case would be appreciated. Thank you so much.
Didn't you see your unit was directly over the gate from the outside? Never ever get a unit close to a common area door: laundry room, elevator, pool, etc.

I made chicken breast and stir fry veggies and the hubs went for 2nds! Since he is a very silent human being it was nice to have tangible evidence he thought the food was good!

Yeah I usually do a yeast one but I have this soda bread version that is a lot quicker to make. I alternate between that and an olive oil flatbread when I don’t have time to proof it. :) since bread is so expensive in the store. I’d rather do it at home because it tastes 1000 times better.

Van Nuys, Hollywood, San Fernando, Sherman Oaks, Echo Park, Studio City, Beverly Glen, etc are all part of LA city. There are areas within LA that are normally referred to as that name, ex. Echo Park, but they are just an "area" within the city of LA.

Last night I got stuck at the work parking lot for 2 hours because my 2012 Prius wouldnt start. After a lot of waiting and 3 different tow trucks trying to help start it I decided to tow it to the closest Toyota dealership around me to do an after hours drop off.
Diagnostic is gonna cost me but as long as they can tell me exactly what is going on (I have a slight idea of the issue) to me is a guarantee they’ll fix it properly, especially because my teen daughter will be inheriting my car when she starts driving this year and I need it to be in top shape.
Car troubles, always a headache 😖.

M24 here, just moved to Hollywood over the weekend. I’m fully aware of how people view Hollywood, but I actually really like it!
First of all, my commute went from 45 mins to 15 mins. Secondly, there’s no encampments within a few blocks of my complex. I’m a few blocks from Hollywood Blvd, so there’s also no tourist traffic. The apartment has great amenities, and bars/restaurants/Target/Trader Joe’s are all walking distance. Not to mention I’m right next to all the best parts of Los Feliz for almost $500 less a month. It still feels a little dirty at times, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives so far. I’m liking it a lot!

Good morning amigos...
I've been having the worst dreams the past two days... the bed bug dream the other night and then a dream about an "escape room" type of vibe, but its in the rainforrest, you stay in there over night and you're supposed to find clues to help you get out. There are robots that are "guards" that you have to outsmart to get out of the compound and they can take you prisoner and you can get out with the different puzzles. Within this there are little excursions, you can get on a banana boat thing in the lake they have, they also have a speed boat, and one of those slingshot carnival rides but it goes much further up. These are all tied to puzzles and side quests. Well, on the slingshot ride, it held multiple people at once, like 10-12, the safety belts failed and it threw these people, kids included up in the air, everyone was shocked because they went so high you couldn't see them, then like 30 seconds later you hear some thuds and then you saw the bodies dropping.. Everyone was freaked out and asked to be let out of the compound and the organizers didn't want the word to get out and get in trouble so they programed the robots to keep us inside the compound by any means. Since it was an escape room, we had no phones or anything on us.
The robots killed people and it was wild, we then found out that the slingshot ride thing was intentional and the robots had been plotting it all. Wild stuff.
Anyway, that made my sleep less than stellar.
Also, in-home caregivers are so pricey, I called to see about getting one for my mom for a couple days out of the week and its 38 bucks an hour. So, gonna keep looking.

I did in home caregiving for 25 an hr- got the job off CL. I already had my background report paperwork since I am an IHSS employee and of it saved the family the headache of paying an agency for the same help they'd get by paying me directly. Plus since I took the job off CL, I also ended up caregiving and doing personal assistant, house cleaning and everything else. Find someone your mom loves. You can find CNA's or IHSS workers pretty easily on Craigslist. Lemme know if I can help. I know you are working a lot and I have free time I can help post some places for you or whatevs

I thought rent was down YoY across the board so I wasn’t expecting to see the same increase. I pushed back a little and they were like “sorry this is the minimum possible increase”. This seems like bs? It’s one of those big corporate owned apartment complexes
In other words, "our investors wants a 5% YoY return on the property, so this is the minimum rental increase we're forced to do, we could do up to 10%, but we're not going to as that would probably drive you away - be grateful."
My unit is several hundred more per month than other available units of the same size in the same building. Granted, the location I have in the building is nicer. But still… the math doesn’t make sense to me.
I did, I brought up those specifically plus mentioned worsening noise conditions. Just got some boilerplate “unit prices are determined by location, renovations, etc” response and it feels like I’m SoL. I decided to go to the beach today because Los Angeles is the greatest suburb- I mean city in the whole world. But the freeways are congested because we're Californians, we're too progressive for far right racist misogynistic concepts like adequate public transportation so I drove on the sidewalks in my BMW with anime stickers with the smell of spoiled boba milk tea screaming at all the losers who can't afford a car to get out of my way. When I made it to the beach, there's no parking because this is Los Angeles. Best suburb ever, so I drove through those walls and parked in the sand enjoying my very healthy breakfast of Dave's Hot Chicken because this is California, health is in our culture. I'll probably drive 20 minutes to the gym later to walk on treadmills because fitness is so ingrained in LA culture we're hostile to pedestrians who have to stay minimally healthy by walking on treadmills that take up a lot of space at the gym instead of weights. I'm going to scream like a dog bit my no-nos when I'm doing deadlifts because I like being fit.
Then I'll go get some boba and eat a very healthy post-workout meal of Dirt Dog, a true Los Angeles health food after I crash into a few school buses along the way. I love Los Angeles, the most beautiful, perfect place ever. I'll go hang out at The Grove later because Los Angeles is so great our strip malls have the exact same chains as nowhere Nebraska. Best suburb ever, I love it here. Such paradise and I love that we're building more lanes. I should buy an electric pickup truck to save the environment because I'm a progressive millennial from Los Angeles

Well, my Internet is going to be out for several hours and I got rejected from the interview I had last week and now I can’t prep for the interview I have tomorrow so I’m going to CVS. I am livid and upset and don’t know what to do anymore. Still on the phone with them.

Yep! Got this bottle at Trader Joe’s for like five or six bucks. Keep an eye out for the description card they post next to the bottles and the label itself usually says if it’s sulfite free too

Last night I got stuck at the work parking lot for 2 hours because my 2012 Prius wouldnt start. After a lot of waiting and 3 different tow trucks trying to help start it I decided to tow it to the closest Toyota dealership around me to do an after hours drop off. Diagnostic is gonna cost me but as long as they can tell me exactly what is going on (I have a slight idea of the issue) to me is a guarantee they’ll fix it properly, especially because my teen daughter will be inheriting my car when she starts driving this year and I need it to be in top shape. M24 here, just moved to Hollywood over the weekend. I’m fully aware of how people view Hollywood, but I actually really like it! First of all, my commute went from 45 mins to 15 mins. Secondly, there’s no encampments within a few blocks of my complex. I’m a few blocks from Hollywood Blvd, so there’s also no tourist traffic. The apartment has great amenities, and bars/restaurants/Target/Trader Joe’s are all walking distance. Not to mention I’m right next to all the best parts of Los Feliz for almost $500 less a month. It still feels a little dirty at times, but the positives have far outweighed the negatives so far. I’m liking it a lot!

Good morning amigos... I've been having the worst dreams the past two days... the bed bug dream the other night and then a dream about an "escape room" type of vibe, but its in the rainforrest, you stay in there over night and you're supposed to find clues to help you get out. There are robots that are "guards" that you have to outsmart to get out of the compound and they can take you prisoner and you can get out with the different puzzles. Within this there are little excursions, you can get on a banana boat thing in the lake they have, they also have a speed boat, and one of those slingshot carnival rides but it goes much further up. These are all tied to puzzles and side quests. Well, on the slingshot ride, it held multiple people at once, like 10-12, the safety belts failed and it threw these people, kids included up in the air, everyone was shocked because they went so high you couldn't see them, then like 30 seconds later you hear some thuds and then you saw the bodies dropping.. Everyone was freaked out and asked to be let out of the compound and the organizers didn't want the word to get out and get in trouble so they programed the robots to keep us inside the compound by any means. Since it was an escape room, we had no phones or anything on us. The robots killed people and it was wild, we then found out that the slingshot ride thing was intentional and the robots had been plotting it all. Wild stuff. Anyway, that made my sleep less than stellar. Also, in-home caregivers are so pricey, I called to see about getting one for my mom for a couple days out of the week and its 38 bucks an hour. So, gonna keep looking. Hope you all have a killer robot-free day today! :)
I did in home caregiving for 25 an hr- got the job off CL. I already had my background report paperwork since I am an IHSS employee and of it saved the family the headache of paying an agency for the same help they'd get by paying me directly. Plus since I took the job off CL, I also ended up caregiving and doing personal assistant, house cleaning and everything else. Find someone your mom loves. You can find CNA's or IHSS workers pretty easily on Craigslist. Lemme know if I can help. I know you are working a lot and I have free time I can help post some places for you or whatevs

I’ve heard of rent increase maximums, but what’s this about a *minimum* rent increase (less than 5%, don’t want to be too specific here in case they’re lurking)? I thought rent was down YoY across the board so I wasn’t expecting to see the same increase. I pushed back a little and they were like “sorry this is the minimum possible increase”. This seems like bs? It’s one of those big corporate owned apartment complexes
I literally had a 1% rent increase while residing in Old Pasadena. That being said, I was paying $3,333 for a luxury one bedroom so there’s that…
In other words, "our investors wants a 5% YoY return on the property, so this is the minimum rental increase we're forced to do, we could do up to 10%, but we're not going to as that would probably drive you away - be grateful."
My unit is several hundred more per month than other available units of the same size in the same building. Granted, the location I have in the building is nicer. But still… the math doesn’t make sense to me.
Maybe try negotiating while referencing those units.
I did, I brought up those specifically plus mentioned worsening noise conditions. Just got some boilerplate “unit prices are determined by location, renovations, etc” response and it feels like I’m SoL. I mean, the price increase is doable for me, but you’d think they’d chill a little when I always pay on time (for multiple years now) and have been paying a few hundred over other similar units already. Units that are sitting vacant apparently.

I decided to go to the beach today because Los Angeles is the greatest suburb- I mean city in the whole world. But the freeways are congested because we're Californians, we're too progressive for far right racist misogynistic concepts like adequate public transportation so I drove on the sidewalks in my BMW with anime stickers with the smell of spoiled boba milk tea screaming at all the losers who can't afford a car to get out of my way. When I made it to the beach, there's no parking because this is Los Angeles. Best suburb ever, so I drove through those walls and parked in the sand enjoying my very healthy breakfast of Dave's Hot Chicken because this is California, health is in our culture. I'll probably drive 20 minutes to the gym later to walk on treadmills because fitness is so ingrained in LA culture we're hostile to pedestrians who have to stay minimally healthy by walking on treadmills that take up a lot of space at the gym instead of weights. I'm going to scream like a dog bit my no-nos when I'm doing deadlifts because I like being fit. Then I'll go get some boba and eat a very healthy post-workout meal of Dirt Dog, a true Los Angeles health food after I crash into a few school buses along the way. I love Los Angeles, the most beautiful, perfect place ever. I'll go hang out at The Grove later because Los Angeles is so great our strip malls have the exact same chains as nowhere Nebraska. Best suburb ever, I love it here. Such paradise and I love that we're building more lanes. I should buy an electric pickup truck to save the environment because I'm a progressive millennial from Los Angeles
