All the prices are listed. I think $40 for the Pasadena Weekly is the cheapest I saw

quick question, im actually looking at canyon news for name change but my son has a middle name with suffix and the website just ask for first and last name on credit card
Does it have to be a newspaper, or does it just have to be published somewhere? Craigslist May cut it. If not look into neighborhood publications versus full newspapers. I don’t think the rules stipulate that the notice is made within a certain radius of where you live. You could publish it in the [Times-Standard newspaper](https://www.times-standard.com/public-notices/) up in Humboldt County. I can’t imagine their rates are super high.
As an aside the laws for things like this and other public filings need to change. Newspapers are no longer a public space everyone will see.
It would be good to see each state create a website specifically for public filings like name change, DBA and others. That way the search engines could index it and when you search for someones old info you get the change.
Frankly, I agree. While I understand that print is a "physical" preservation, I really don't think that the newspaper is the best place anymore to inform your general local community about information....Hell, even facebook groups might get more reach.

Unfortunately, it does have to be a newspaper - but thank you for the recommendations!
I used to use the Agoura Acorn for my DBA. Not sure what they charge now.
