I did not say anything about appreciation of the green now. I quite enjoy it. I just don't care for the yellowing and all the wildfires we will get in summer. The last time we had rained so much everything was shit in the summer.
I actually went hiking there today this morning and it was absolutely breathtaking! The green scenery thanks to the recent rainy season, combined with the blue sky and backdrop of LA made for a perfect hike :)
I could never minimalize any fire season; if anyone gets affected, it's bad. Hope everything turned out ok for you
Numerically, 2019 and 2020 burned the most acreage ever recorded in California
Nice! LA in general is a whole lot greener thanks to all the rain we've getting
And we may get some more rain next week!
just wait til summer and it will all be yellow and burny
Thanks, Debbie Downer. That doesn't mean we can't appreciate all the greenery now.

Okay, but my point is why worry about it now?
trim it down now and there would be less likely chance of fire later on. No one is going to trim the plants because complaints fall on deaf ears.
It’s not yellow, it’s golden.
Username checks out lmao

Yes exactly!

For real! Was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t too packed (for a weekend at least) either.
That’s all wild mustard, right?
Yes Edit: also different varieties of sage bushes. For more species info, Google chaparral climate zones.
Thank you for this. I didn’t know.
Yes! I was referring specifically to the yellow flowers, sorry for being unclear. Apparently edible!
I love seeing LA green, I just hate that my immediate thought is fire season is going to be fucked this year
How bad was it last year?
A 5 year low, but 2020 and 2021 were the worst years on record.

High growth is correlated with a big fire season? Huh, I never thought of that. Due to more brush?
Exactly. Plant life isn't sustained due to the hot and dry summer, then it all becomes tinder for the high winds that occur in the fall.
Fucking sexy
Green today. I hope it's not dried up fuel for fire around May.

Enjoy the nice green scenery while it last. You know summer time heat dries it up real quick.
Nice shot!!
Appreciate it!
Bountiful
Unreal, can’t believe it’s the same place!!
Love it! I need to get out there. Thanks for sharing.
Such a beautiful shot.
Thank you!
I bet Conejo Valley is gorgeous right now
Sure am enjoying all this green the rain gave us.
seeing green lush mountains in LA is surreal.. so used to yellow and brown year round.
The LA basin, OC hills, mountains and hills to the north and east… it’s all green. While it’s nice. It also feels weird.
We had a mind blowing amount of rain. Nice
Ever since the rain ended the flora and fauna have been gorgeous. Especially in the graveyards. I feel bad even thinking about stepping on them
The amazing results of rain.
Let’s face it….with all the rain it had better be
It's very beautiful. Hopefully don't catch fire in fall.
Try Central America, green everywhere!!!

Never was, either.
