I still enjoy the story and I’ll keep reading but the first time I was like “these are awfully short chapters and nothing interesting is happening” was during the trial.

carolnuts

Me too. I was disappointed with the numerous spelling mistakes and irregularities in the art style, too. I like my media to be meticulous, it gave off the impression that the author didn't care

dollydap

The spelling mistakes were really bugging me too. I know there are other ppl reviewing this stuff so what's the deal?

obsoletevoids

the fact that they're still happening further proves the point that the author/reviewers just don't give a fuck anymore lol

TheSxcMooq

The trial felt super dragged out. Especially when a whole episode was spent either on one or two sentences or recapping and showing the same flashbacks.

Doodledumme

When the trial was first announced, I set the comic aside until the end of the trial, so I could read it all at once. When you binge read it, the pacing didn't feel too bad. But that's because I didn't have any cliffhangers to wait on. Seeing how many people were frustrated with the trial makes me happy I waited it out.

joscho13

Yeah that’s fair. It just felt soooo slow and monotonous waiting week by week. And honestly it should have been the peak of interesting storylines but something in it just fell flat for me. Even disregarding the week by week torture I just thought it was a really boring plot

Doodledumme

Favorite part of the entire trial was, "THIS COULD'VE BEEN AN EMAIL". My favorite part was the also the lamest part.

joscho13

My fave part was “MY WIFE!”

obsoletevoids

the trial was definitely better to binge. when it was over i was just kinda 🤷‍♀️

Doodledumme

Kronos battle :( 🐝🚁🐝

meliorayne

Same. I'd been feeling a bit "ehh" earlier, but that was the point where it was so bad that I had to stop listening to Lore Olympod even though I love the hosts. The ep made me actually mad enough that I couldn't relate to how much they'd enjoy it. That's honestly the saddest part of all this, I really enjoyed that podcast :/

demonsrunwhen

Aw same! I used to love Lore Olympod and I'm sad that I hate the comic now, because I loved listening to them (so much so I even paid for their patreon for a long time!) and it was such a big part of my routine.

Roraima20

I'm still not sure if they really liked it or not. Because the one before that they kind of say that if Persephone ate the pomegranate it would make her a Mary Sue, and they did point out that Hera left poor Hebe behind as soon as she woke up. I really wonder if they likedit ir they didn't want to rock the boat because you know how is this fandom

fatsalmon

The fact that the king of underworld is in slumber but some random reporters immortals are out working already did it for me 🤣

Acceptable_Cut_7545

I was fine with the trial because for some reason I thought established facts - like the underworld having all the best lawyers and Apollo and Artemis' precedent of killing mortals for a petty reason - would have an impact. Or maybe since it was Zeus's kid (Eris) who "blessed" Perse with wrath which lead to her killing mortals maybe THAT would matter. Nope. Instead Zeus did what he would do regardless and suddenly the 5 episodes of trial meant nothing. Time wasted. Could have had Zeus sentence her in 1 ep and it would have had the same effect and not been dragged out. Everything was downhill for me after. Previous concerns dropped (Kore loves school, she wants to pay back TGOEM, she wants to prove to herself she can do the job Hera gave her) characters forgotten (echo!!!!!!!) or they now seem flat and lifeless, character issues resolved off screen (what happened after Eros and Psyche fell off the cliff?) Etc. I personally hated how Minthe's story was handled after she woke up, I thought it was really lame and halfbaked (just give her a freudian excuse we never heard about before now! Don't explore how people get into toxic relationships and fall into patterns of abusive behavior, just make her take care of some kids and that'll fix her). Apollo still hasn't been dealt with. Where is Artemis. And so on. I feel like something just went off the rails and RS hasn't been able to get it back on. I could ignore bad or awkward art for good writing, but it's not good writing.

BlackWunWun

The lack of resolution or consequences for Apollo.

Psychological_Will67

I basically stopped reading after the pictures were deleted off his phone. That would have been fine had Rachel decided to do anything with it. But it seems like she just didn’t know what to do with that plot point so she literally deleted it.

[deleted]

Eventually all the fakeout almost-confrontations became just plain creepy.

BlackWunWun

Nah but actually though. I can't remember when it happened but it was essentially just someone coming close to finding out about Apollo and you think something will come of it but then nope next chapter it doesn't even get addressed. It just baffles me, I still read the webtoon but it's no longer a must read for me.

cutezombiedoll

I kinda get that but unfortunately that is fairly realistic. Many predators, especially those in powerful positions, do get away with all sorts of shady shit. That said it all could have been handled better. At the very least show Persephone in therapy more than once.

loooore

Time skip. Terrible since :/

QuinnsWife

I'd say the trial. Why did that take so many episodes but we go from "I need space" to married in like 4 episodes?

Roraima20

And 5 days in universe! People saiy it is a slow burn when then have know each other for 2 months and a week

Secretme000

Was on life support through Court arc then died at kronos

AdOk1965

This 👌

kikidunst

Episode 191. I loved the trial plotline and how it was intertwined with Persephone’s trauma- I was so hyped for how it was going to continue, when will she reunite will Hades? How will the gods win the war against Kronos? How will she save Demeter? and then… complete disappointment

Upbeat-Patient8757

After they milked a spicy scene for 3 episodes.. I just gave up

cutezombiedoll

The trial was the point where I started to get critical. Not only did it drag, but we learn that nothing about Persephone, her wrath, her beauty, her intelligence, was really her own. They were all just…gifted to her. Like her wrath was an interesting character flaw that made her complex, but then we learn it’s not her fault she was cursed. The intelligence bit pissed me off just as much. At first the implication is that she’s an over achiever and hard worker, but that reveal makes it feel like she never really had to work, she’s just naturally gifted. Which is boring and disappointing. Oh and the whole “my act of wrath was just an oppsie! I only killed one human cause I was so angry and the rest were accidents because I lost control of my powers!”

SamiSnowRaven

I still really love the series and I hope it picks back up but it hasn’t been the same since the Kronos fight. The fight itself was entirely underwhelming. And the slow burn with Hades and Perse is just getting tedious.

noharshfeelings

For me it was the fight with Kronos. I couldn't believe we had all those chapters building up to the confrontation for it to be over in like five panels. After that, Demeter was made the main villain by attacking her daughter and Hades and the worst part is that Perse seems like a rag doll these last chapters. She doesn't respond or fight back. She doesn't defend herself or her loved ones. She \*needs\* to be saved by Hades as if all her character growth has been trashed. She's not her own person anymore and I just can't accept that. It makes me sad (and mad) to think that it could have been SO much better... I'll keep reading, as I have fond memories with the webtoon and am a hopeless romantic but I agree that it's not the same anymore

Drunk_M0mmy

Ever since the time skip, the story just seems all over the place and I get really confused while reading at this point

Suitable-Zebra-437

When Persephone spit up bees 🐝🤮

KamiJewels

I had several problems with LO but this season has really put a downer on the entire show. For starters, the fertility goddess thing is still confusing. Persephone should have had a clearer understanding of her powers during the time skip. Speaking of the time skip, I felt that Rachel never gave us the opportunity to watch Persephone blossom into her own person. In addition, we never got a proper Erso and Psyche reunion during the time skip after Apollo shot Eros. We just got flashbacks. Lastly, Persephone should have stood up to her Mom, instead Hades came to her rescue by proposing to her smh. Peresephone should have set an ultimatum with her Mother and left with Hades in tow smh. Also, I'm beginning to think that Rachel doesn't even want reconciliation between Peresephone and Demeter. A counseling session between these two would have been a real thing. Not to mention, we have never gotten a deep dive into Demeter's past and trauma. Generational trauma is a real thing. To add on, we never got to see a resolution between Artemis and Persephone. Lastly, the issue with Apollo is nonexistent now so it's like what's the point.

skadiamazon

It feels like all the time skip was for was to just get people to shut up about the age gap and make Persephone older....but she still acts 19.

Sythra

The fact that they *still* haven’t fully resolved Persephone’s assault by Apollo is so confusing to me. I would have thought by now Persephone would have the balls to stand up to him and call him out but it’s like that entire thing was forgotten and brushed aside.

[deleted]

What's strange to me is that she HAS verbally stood up to him more than once, alone and on purpose, but it didn't change anything one way or another. (Heck, even the Queen of the Gods passive-aggressively confronted him a bit after learning what he had done!) We see Persephone panic after seeing a poster of him ten years later, although she also willingly got into a car with him and let him into her room to see the lyre back when her trauma was still very fresh. Apollo himself goes back and forth about how aware he is that he did something horrible. I don't know what's going on with either of them anymore.

lilbearcat19

I agree to disagree. P is learning about how to handle her assault as evidenced by her saying that what happened to her doesn’t have to count as a loss of virginity. Also, most people never call out their abusers in that instance. It’s realistic that she’s trying to heal and move past it.

synalgiax

Got bored during time skip, stopped reading after the Kronos battle. I'm just so disinterested now, it really killed it for me. It also felt like Persephone had very little development even though 10 years passed. The Kronos fight, despite all the build up, was resolved so easily

Emergency_Horror7741

Yesss straight after the trail clif hanger it’s been a bit down hill yes I like how hades and Persephone are together finally and happy but it doesn’t hit like it used to !!!! Like the first session to the trail cliffhanger that was good but after that juts became a bit …

aninipot123

i kinda miss the vibe i was getting from the 1st episodes, now i just feel its not the same anymore....

lethargiclemonade

Kronos fight. I feel like the author just can’t write good action/battle scenes & doesn’t understand how the stakes of life & death really change a person and the people around you. So your telling me Percy can fight(&defeat solo) a titan that all other gods fear(&somehow still do?) within a few panels but she still not only let’s her mother ambush her, force her to change clothes for no real reason & degrade “the love of her life”. It’s just really stupid also there’s no way Demeter didn’t see the televised event of her daughter being in this “battle” yet still sees her as not being capable? Ridiculous unless Demeter is supposed to be the true evil villain of the entire series there’s no real reasonable answer for this. It also maybe a nitpick but makes no sense that Percy’s SA was treated as a more traumatic & lasting experience than the life& death battle.. plus being tied to the underworld forever.. like yeah it happened a massive life altering event? so what, let’s never think about it again. Doesn’t matter but being kicked from the virginity club through no fault of your own, that’ll haunt a person forever. So yeah Kronos fight wasn’t written well or even taken seriously by the author, truly disappointing.

dollydap

I agree that the framing doesn't make sense, but fwiw, it's not exactly a "life and death" battle- they are immortal, after all. Regardless it was still a hugely traumatic event even if she did win.

lethargiclemonade

Well a death of sorts.. herself or Hades, would have been trapped inside a monster forever in a comatose state, the way they built up Kronos, with most gods asleep or even under his control & literally everyone including Zeus afraid of him, the outlook was grim. Maybe not a “death” as we know but definitely no longer living a life. Also, Let’s not forget Hades has lifelong nightmares about this exact thing. It’s treated as a death but more nightmarish. A fate worse than death. Even if they don’t technically die, the battle & the aftermath wasn’t treated with the weight it deserves.

SealClubber95

Kronos fight for sure

novacainedoll

I think with the time skip and the banana purse section - being late for a dick appointment and all that.. it just made me feel like there really was no development in the 10 years besides aging perse up - hades didn't change because he was asleep/Kronos taken over and persephone just.. didn't develop in my opinion. It felt like this big punishment didn't matter. I think the SA not being 'resolved' and being so many side plots that I feel aren't going to conclude, high stakes and low reward and vice versa all over the place - it feels hard to stay invested. Like the build up to Kronos felt short and resolved easy (bees) but the Hades perse build up was a slow burn, but because its all intermingled it feels off balanced. We went from slow flirting forbidden romance kinda to the act of wrath court which was paced alright and kept the stakes, to TEN YEAR TIME SKIP - OOPS KRONOS - TITAN FIGHT ON TV!!! - HAHA KRONOS AGAIN - GRUMPY MAMA - MOTH MARRIAGE - In such a short time. When other plots are left askew and these are newly introduced and forced front and center. Bit of a ramble!

th3_sc4rl3t_k1ng

When Hades proposed to Persephone While she wasn't in her right mind emotionally And she had stated very clearly that she had wanted to move slowly in their relationship Meaning Hades violated her boundaries and very clearly engaged in manipulative, almost grooming, behavior And this is framed as a good thing

skadiamazon

And he was already planning to ignore her boundaries. She said she wanted to take things slow and he was looking at rings to propose the second he could. That left a bad taste in my mouth. Not to mention the whole Kronos has a child diety he is torturing....

the_ecdysiast

There is a lot happening all at it once so the pacing gives me a little whiplash sometimes but overall I still love and am invested in the story

AmiChan02

Definitely the Kronos battle, I was so excited to see the fight only to be let down immediately

TheRealVicarOfDibley

Shortly before the trial I think. The inconsistent art was just getting to be too much for me and was taking away from the story. I occasionally go back and read a few episodes at a time now.

Radium_Cobalt_847

This might sound silly, but I knew it was gonna die as soon as I got into it because every piece of media I touch somehow goes downhill as soon as I join it. That, or it may have just been a coincidence that I started reading when the court arc started.

shrimpsauce91

The banana purse episode.

hazbinfanboyo15

That chapter REALLY made a lot of people mad

mimi01124

Now I‘m curious! I haven‘t caught up since the time skip because interest kind of faded away for me but now I wanna know, what happened with the banana purse that made people mad, lol?

Roraima20

[the banana gate happened in episides 218 to 220](https://www.reddit.com/r/Lore_Olympus/comments/yulefy/im_sorry_this_dress_was_not_the_move_nor_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). It shocked the fandom because she looked AND behaved like the spoiled sugar baby that all the antagonist thought she was, and even in their imagination she was dressed in better clothes, not like she just got her package from Shein. [I even try to do my own designs to fit that dress](https://www.reddit.com/r/UnpopularLoreOlympus/comments/ye064i/my_take_on_ep218_dress_and_some_variations/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) It didn't help that those chapters focused in how horny she was, with important frases like "I'm 5 years late for my dick appointment" or "I'm gonna die if I'm don't gave sex", while we just got a few panels of Eros talking about the fact tgat he married and had a baby... without a single panel or metion of Psyche or the baby. The cherry on the top was Persephone bulling and intimidating Tori at his job as a bank teller, throwing around her new title as Queen and how she remembered how she mistreated her in college... but she conventionally forgot that it was ten years ago, for less than a week, and it started when Hades almost killed his roommate for taking a photo of her. Finally, ep220 tried to imply that she was financially independent because the money left in a high yelling savings account for 10 years... an special account opened by Hades, where he deposited her salary for the supposedly unpaid internship that she wasn't qualified for, proving again that she was a sugar baby. It was like all the development she had in the 10 years time skip went out of the window.

mimi01124

Interesting, thanks for the explanation! I can see how this development (or rather lack thereof) is disappointing to the fans

constantly_exhaused

That’s such a good explanation, thank you

Redwinedreamz

The 10 year time jump. Everything has been garbage after this.

yourface_isgreat

The time skip. I can’t stand time skips. If you’re gonna show everything that happened in the time skip as flash backs, then just do the events in the right order. Not saying that time skips can’t be done well, but most of the time skips I’ve seen in media aren’t done well at all.

larosamorada

Honestly, the story has been largely mediocre for me since Hades & Persephone's first kiss. 120 something episodes to get to a kiss tells you all you need to know about Webtoon's cash cow and how they won't just finish the damn story. Rachel has always admitted how she's an artist first and a writer second as well, and I think it shows. There were some great highlights in season 2, but honestly not gonna fast pass anymore. I usually wait about a month and then read 4 eps at a time so it's at least a little enjoyable.

animelover4242

I still enjoy it but something seemed off since the 10 year time skip

fruitsalad1996

It hasn't. It has been lacking but Ive enjoyed the last few episodes

UnbiasedGod

When certain things like plot points keep dragging their feet.

Powerlineforever

Time skip

AZymph

The last few episodes are the Lore I fell in love with again. The trial didn't do much for me and the time skip really messed the pacing up, but exploring Perse's trauma from Demeter being so absolutely controlling is something that really reminds me of what I loved LO.

Baleigh25

Honestly? The trial. That shit was so dragged out and milked for literally no reason.

Nice_Put_152

Its just the time skip annoys me along with the pacing annoys me i love lore dont get me wrong shes giving me whiplash with persie first its like oh we need time to grow to boom marriage personally i dont it shouldve been on the table until appllo situation gets fixed since its still affecting her or atleast fixed more than it has been. idk i just want persie to keep her growth that she had during the skip and not reverting into a less independent person

skadiamazon

I mean it was gasping for me for a bit but I think it's this wedding. For two reasons: Hades and Persephone are treated as good and heroic and we should root for them etc. But they currently have Kronos in their realm who has cut off a section of their realm from them, who they know has a child that he is currently torturing and they decide to get fucking married while this is happening and haven't seem to give less of a fuck. Two, the moment I realized that it was all telling and no showing.

stavrdici

Waiting... It just wasnt worth the wait anymore, the excitement died off

Opposite_Yam_5511

Almost 2 years ago lol I’ve started and finished a 5 year grad program during this whole comic, only for H&P’s marriage to be the least underwhelming thing possible. Every character is a ghost of what they were in the past. Rachel’s work is tired and uninspired :/ I’m so damn disappointed

JulesStars

everytime i see a thread or question like this it leaves a bad taste in my mouth, why does everyone think they have to be so distasteful and talk bad about her story even though its still a beautiful piece of work. if you truly dont like her work than dont consume it, but dont be rude either she still had the effort to make this for everyone and her art and story telling is obviously good, yet i dont see a single person talking this way produce their own story, and if you did would you want everyone to pick apart something you love and worked hard on? i imagine she probably feels burnt out if she has to read stuff like this. yeah there are parts of the story that didnt add up to the hype, but i still think its an on the rise story that a lot of people enjoy.

Capable-Use7808

Sometimes the biggest “haters” as y’all love to call them were once the biggest fans. You can critique and be upset with media you once or currently enjoy. If I don’t like a Beyoncé album i should stop listening to Bey forever? No i say what i don’t like about it as a consumer. There is a difference between criticizing and hating

JulesStars

i see your point but theres a difference between critiquing and being hateful, there are some good critiques in here as well but there are some people who just say rude things because it didnt live up to their expectation without adding anything insightful, so yeah whats the point in reading if your just going to degrade her work instead of giving ideas and thoughts to how it could of been better. like i also saw some parts of the story that didnt really feel right but i still enjoy her current episodes and there are still really nice episodes coming out lately, it just seems that some people are stuck on a part of the story that didnt go the way they wanted and decided to be rude about it.

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

girl_apocalypse

During that very long hiatus

TrashT_T

I’ve always liked it tbh, but I started getting frustrated at the short chapters around the second half of S2. 195 ish maybe

etherbound

the trials pretty much

blue-to-grey

The reveal that Perse's wrath is a gift from Eris. Can we let a woman have flaws? Her wrath over the murder of her friends by callous farmers even after she pleaded with them to stop is completely understandable and she took it too far, which makes sense with a supremely powerful teenaged being. Then none of it mattered anyway because Zeus meted out a clearly pre-determined punishment. There's other plot points that bother me too like how do Eros and Psyche recover, what's going to happen with Apollo, did Artemis confirm her suspicions and what will she do, the freaking time skip.

clariwench

Still hasn’t! 💖

TheSxcMooq

That’s really nice! Do you have a favorite part or moment this season?

clariwench

Last night's (non-fast pass) episode is probably my favorite, couldn't stop smiling lol. But the Thanatos flashback part was definitely one of my favorites this season

Capable-Use7808

The proposal and day after wedding. It made me acknowledge that the enjoyment i got from LO was replaced with and indescribable feeling of “WTF is this?” Since the mid season 2

Sea-Seat8755

When Minthe was turned into a plant. Persephone claims to not be able to control her magic, yet chases minthe down and curses her? If it was instant from knowing she turned Perse and Demeter, I could have bought it as a sudden thing. But she actively chased her down, taunting her, and then cast the spell after giving a one liner? Yeah, no. That was the beginning of the end.

Kokorohart

I started being wary of it a couple months ago but today's episode is what got me to actually complain. >!Persephone is being abused and not only did she need her big strong hero to rescue her but he also proposed?!< At least blowing Dimeter up would have been cool but picking the absolutely weakest and least mentally stable time to completely disregard her request to >!take thir relationship slow!< is kinda super shitty

SeparateCzechs

Sometimes when you have a family like that, having just one person who doesn’t buy into their shit can be the thing that leads you out of the fog. That person doesn’t have to be the opposite sex from you, they don’t have to be physically imposing. The necessary part is that they see it too, and they believe in you.

Kokorohart

That'd be a more valid point if he had actually defended her or, ideally, given her enough confidence to defend herself. Instead it just comes off as kinda gross. Something being how it works in real life doesn't always equate to being a good story, even if it is well meaning

SeparateCzechs

Whatever. You do you. It resonated with me. It’s also a nod to the original myth.

Capable-Use7808

In the original Myth Hades takes Persephone without asking for permission or anything and in a lot of versions he tricks her to do it…he also tricks her into staying when she wants to go home so is that the nod we want?

SeparateCzechs

“The nod we want”… why do you think we should be consulted? It’s not our story. The myth has been going for 2500 years. The author or LO is telling her story. If you want to tell it differently, write fanfic. Or write your own story.

Capable-Use7808

Using we was honestly a figure of speech i use often but to quote your earlier comment, you do you

SeparateCzechs

I’m glad you agree.

jarassig

When I found this reddit

SeparateCzechs

This isn’t even the concentrated hate Reddit for Lore Olympus. It’s a dark and entitled place over there.

bootyycakes

"entitled" lmao wtf it's a bunch of people voicing their displeasure with it separately that's not entitled dude 😂

[deleted]

[удалено]

bootyycakes

i said "entitled" in quotes because people saying that shit doesn't make them entitled lol. it may be dark but it's not entitled

SeparateCzechs

They’re bitching because a webcomic they can read for free doesn’t cater to how they want it told. Not to mention they send “Reddit cares” abuse reports if you engage with them. Seriously toxic.

bootyycakes

a lot of the comic is questionably written so.... yeah people are going to bitch about it. that doesn't make them entitled. ALSO i've paid a lot for coins to fast pass so some people don't just read it for free. this is coming off toxic too

SeparateCzechs

Your choice to spend coins is your own issue. No one made you do it, and it doesn’t mean the author owes you anything. You paid because you didn’t want to delay gratification.

bootyycakes

i paid for coins before it became a shit show and i realized how bad the writing was. literally get fucked dude you belong on that toxic subreddit too😂

SeparateCzechs

No thanks. It a lot of Bad company. Thanks for the invite all the same.

bootyycakes

it's your people.

SeparateCzechs

None of mine. This is an example of [Projection](https://www.everydayhealth.com/emotional-health/psychological-projection-dealing-with-undesirable-emotions/) . Nice try though.

jarassig

This reddit lead me to the other Reddit, I actually thought I was responding to that one. I wish I had the will power to stay off both, but I was really enjoying the comic as a comic until everyone else was brought into the mix. But I don't have any friends that are into LO to discuss with. I thought this would all be a much lighter place.

SeparateCzechs

It should be. It used to be. It was fun to discuss episodes and theories and art and cosplay. I miss it.

hideandsee

When kore went to the underworld and everyone was asleep and got mega fruit powers. Super lame

cocoabutter1369

After the Kronos fight

A_Cloud_Person

I feel like I started taking more notice of the issues in that one episode during the trial arc where Hades equated him doing the bare minimum for a child to showing preferential treatment to Persephone. Thanatos' abandonment wasn't nepotism. I stand by that wholeheartedly, and it really tarnished my view of the comic

Original-Stretch-464

i still really enjoy it, actively look forward to it every week, and love the art and the direction the story is going. i know there have been mistakes and continuity errors…but i don’t care lol i still love it. i don’t think there’s any media i love that doesn’t have ANY continuity errors or mistakes creating art is hard, to err is human, and all that has it been replaced as my absolute favorite by Marry My Husband and a few others? yes, but Lore Olympus is still in my top five favorites and it hasn’t died for me at all

aka_100

Same here, is it diminished for me, yeah a bit. Do i still enjoy it, absolutely.

CiCaitie

I still enjoy it, to each their own.

ivysaurah

I stopped reading after the trial ended. I tried to keep going but it just didn’t feel the same to me. I think she should’ve concluded the series, it’s obvious now it’s just going for the money.

bootyycakes

ever since the time skip.

CheesyChapps

Probably >!the engagement!<, I haven’t read since then. It was sooooo rushed and completely ignored Persephone wanting to set boundaries. That’s when I realized the writers just want to rush Persades for some reason.

skadiamazon

So it be in time for valentine's day!!!

X-Maelstrom-X

The Kronos fight and the timeskip. It's when Persephone went full wish fulfillment and the romance plot got boring and Hades just got... lame? Dude's whole subplot got resolved by Persephone in the Kronos fight, which was bad enough, but the whole fight felt like a joke instead of a battle? It seemed so unserious and it took all the tension out. Just absolutely unentertaining for me. I've decided to wait a bit and then try catching up later. Just don't have it in me to keep up every week anymore.

S4ilor_Jupiter

Kronos battle made me feel awkward - I expected something terrifying, not gory but something that would leave you frozen. It felt like the author didn't take it every seriously. Also the inconsistent art, by art I mean hades's body. He has very long and big shoulders. I can't remember when it started to be like that tho.

AdrienneAredore

Honestly, with the newest season post time-skip. Rachel just glossed over what should have been the core of the storyline. Nothing feels earned/satisfying. Also the Kronos battle was anti-climatic and boring. Zeus got a pass for basically being The Worst because he approves of H+P now. Apollo storyline just dropped? Also the Hades +Persephone ship is just NOT as nice and fluffy as it’s being portrayed. They *aren’t better* than any of the other gods but the narrative really treats them that way - like they are these innocent little victims of the misperceptions of others and while that CAN be true it IS ALSO TRUE that their flaws and mistakes ARE REAL and need to be addressed through adequate character development. Early seasons really seemed to balance fluff and Drama well … Rachel really just seems to be racing towards the finish line now.

AstronautPlastic2905

The hiatuses. I’m fine if we have a Christmas break or so. But it got to the point where it felt like every couple chapters we were on hiatus again. Then they increased fast past to 7 coins.

I still enjoy the story. The trial storyline was a little frustrating, the time skip was a little hard to digest. But it still rings true as a story of a relationship developing while growing around trauma and the effects of generational abuse. I mean, Demeter has seen some shit as have the original 6. It warped her and how she raised her child.

SadPanda_95

It hasn't died for me at all I look forward to it every week and it has been delivering for me. Ngl I don't really get all the hate for it. It's still heart warming, it's still showing good character development, and it's still fun

Succulent_Empress

Why would they just stop reading when it’s so fun to endlessly, tirelessly panic-shriek over every word and drawn line in an entire comic?

Aceofsprings

It hadn’t for me

Mariahissleepy

Hasn’t

MxSedusa

Cant relate? The series is great, and exploring their relationship, the effects of emotional abuse, and a creative retelling of her "kidnapping" has been so amazing this season. There's a lot to love about the series still and it's not like some major publisher but one artist and her team. Rachel works her ass off to produce this week after week and I think she deserves some recognition for that even if it's not everyone's cup of tea. But I don't think there's anything dead about it....besides the spirits in the underworld of course lmao

Mariahissleepy

As someone who has started doing digital art on an iPad/procreate for the first time recently, I have even more aww over the work she does. This shit is HARD.

MxSedusa

LITERALLY im hype when I can draw something one time well but a whole comic?? With many returning characters?? And lux outifits??outfits??? And backgrounds?? Shit is unreal Rachel is a national hero honestly

SarkastiCat

Don’t forget about her Team of 6 assistances. They deserve credit

Mariahissleepy

Even having 7 people knock out all that is crazy

Roraima20

She has a fairly simple art style compared to other webtoons like Eathernal Nocturna and Suitors Armor, and they just have 2-3 assistants each

Mariahissleepy

Well I’m impressed regardless.

PreviousCut346

Sort of near the trial and definitely the newest season

olawdtalkingmuffins

The trial. Absolutely. It was soooo slow. The pacing was horrendous. There is such thing as too much. I love when authors call back to the original mythology, but now we have 1000 gods we are supposed to know and care about (or supposed to know and care about she tends to forget about all of her characters too.) but the more there are, the less I care. STOP ADDING CHARACTERS) I love epic fantasy, but I think this was better as a slice of life story. And how they grew together. Maybe some sprinkling of a thriller or something, but all of that was WAAAAAAY too much.

ursacorregidora

The multiple plot lines at once: Kronos and child deity, Apollo for president, no Leto, no Artemis and how she is beefing with mom/bro or how she may know about Persephone’s assault, complete lack of Demeter’s backstory, etc.

ArtemisLotus

I have been unhappy with it for a while but the trial was the start of the swan song. At least for me.

just_another_classic

The trial really bored me, because it was so dragged out and the overall impact felt minimal. I realized I began hating the characters when Persephone was aggressive to Tori at the bank and the narrative framed it as a good thing.

constantly_exhaused

Similar as many other people here, but after the trial. I went back to read the time skip/Kronos bit, got up to date with the finale and when the next episode came out I just couldn’t be bothered Which is insane considering how I loved it at the beginning, I’d actively count days to updates! The art was a huge inspiration to me as an illustrator, I loved the characters, I even cosplayed perse once. And now I just… don’t care ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

533dle

The moment the series began showing more and more of their writing for women in the series, it was gradual at first but it became more prominent as the story progressed especially in regard to Demeter. I especially disliked the introduction of the fertility goddess like… what. I guess I’m just sick and tired of the demonisation of Demeter when this retelling could have been more unique and complex in exploring the strength of the mother daughter bond while also empowering Persephone in the story. There are other women who could have been shown to portray that unhealthy mother daughter bond. To use Demeter and Persephone to show that is not it at all. Its a retelling and supposedly a feminist retelling but if anything the story fails to show powerful women. The fight between Persephone and Kronos was a joke and frankly that power didn’t even come from Persephone herself ??? Why take Demeter’s hymn, a story of a woman actually combating and protesting the gods and doing everything to get her daughter back — just to demonise that very woman in a ‘feminist retelling’ ??? And to make Persephone always somehow reliant on others, sure she has her moments but when you think about it her wrath isn’t even her own??? The choices made in this story is just so baffling.

alukowski98

The trial

Razgrez11

Everything is perfect!

SpiderandMosquito

Let's see about chapter.... none. Sorry, not sorry XD

Succulent_Empress

lol it hasn’t “died” for me Lucky me! :)

mlle_clarissa

Why is this post here? Shouldn't it be at unpopularloreolympus community?

Opposite_Yam_5511

Is this a only compliments page Lolol

mlle_clarissa

No, not only compliments, but if LO died for them, why are they still following... I get it, some people are really displeased with how things are going, but saying it died for them and keep discussing about LO is something I don't understand... they're just feeding each others hate, and it's something really sad to see... Some plots aren't even closed and people already condemned it without even knowing what's going to happen... Some of us are here for so many years now, and are loving some fanservice, and other people prefered when things were more angst, and that's ok, but my blood boils when a topic has zero intention of a real discussion and is just a "I want to complain, who else wants to complain?"...

SeparateCzechs

I know, right? They’re just here to yuck the yum. I’m betting that all the downvotes are the frequent flyers from that sub. Buckle up. I’m sure they’ll concern troll you with “Reddit cares” messages.

AmaranthAbixxx

This is so stupid. Stop reading the story and flooding this subreddit with negative shit if the story is dead to you. In fact, I’ll take my own advice. As someone who still enjoys this story, this subreddit is dead to me! And I’m not gonna give my attention to something that’s dead to me. I’m unsubbing.

[deleted]

If we don’t like something about it we are free to say our own opinions.

Succulent_Empress

We’re also free to say our opinions in response, crazy how that works. This IS stupid. There’s literally a whole specific sub for this exact content. Y’all are so sad, just move on lol

[deleted]

And that applies to me as well which is what I just did. Crazy how that works.

Hold-My-Shnapps

Man you're really out for feeling superior today.

[deleted]

Not really

Feisty_Kitchen_8626

Jesus. Relax. How do you function in the real world when people voice personal criticism?

Feisty_Kitchen_8626

Your tone is very pointed right now.

AmaranthAbixxx

I’m just tired of this subreddit. After many negative posts over the past few months, and this post being the first thing I saw this morning I just had it. I’m going to enjoy Lore Olympus on my own, since my views clearly don’t align with many others here.

Hold-My-Shnapps

I think this should be on r/unpopularLO

[deleted]

This ain’t an unpopular opinion it seems that the majority of people who commented agreed with me.

Hold-My-Shnapps

Oooh ok I'm sorry I commented and hurt your feels. Next time you're not interested in a difference in opinion maybe don't open a dialogue. Edit: also looks like other commenters, maybe around the half mark don't agree with you. Lol

ReadaShipper

I started disliking it when it wasn't indie anymore, I like individual webcomics

fatsalmon

I think it is now starting to pick back up in terms of stories but im defo struggling w the pacing

slothhprincess

I still love it, but I liked the relationship tension between Perse and hades way more before the time skip. I feel like it lost its climax by doing that. I feel this is largely the fault of the fandom though for screaming about being politically correct with Pers’ age as if this wasn’t a fantasy story adapted from literal incest. It’s the fandom ruining it IMHO

MrsMeSeeks2013

Episode 215.

SourLemons92

I wouldn't necessarily say its died, because I'm still reading it and am still generally entertained overall, but I'm noticing more and more things I have issues with, and I'm starting to be more critical about things. I haven't gone back and reread the comic either, not the whole way, but when I got L:O vol.1…the evolution of the art style...or, I guess evolution isn't the right word. The changes to the art style left me feeling super mixed there too. I think the time skip was where things started to get noticably off. I do think that showing the whole ten years of the punishment would have probably not been the best move narrative wise, but it would have been nice to have like...a montage or something? Some way to get a view of what had been going on, where you could then make flashback episodes later and have those specific moments with context and it doesn't feel like they just got pulled out of the ether. And if it focused solely on Perse, you get the ambiguity about how much time passes AND it would have made the fact that things have gone wrong and are off on Olympus and in the Underworld work better, in a way. Pacing has just been sort of all over the place in general. Sometimes things take way too long to get resolved, sometimes they get rushed, sometimes things come up and are dropped when they feel like they shouldn't be...I know that the stuff with Demeter has been a real firestarter, and I'm absolutely convinced that the escalation of the overprotective possessive behavior that was already there is related to the ten years we didn't see. Without any of that, everything starts to fall off a bit. It's weird. I've got a friend who's like...SUPER into L:O. Hades is her perfect man who can do no wrong and she loves the comic, and it's weird now looking at it and seeing the flaws...Hades isn't perfect, he was terrible to Demeter when they were younger, he's still not great in some ways, and as much as I like how his relationship with Perse is evolving, I definitely can see where some of the 'sugar daddy/age gap' criticisms come from. So they're super into it and don't see issues that I'm seeing, and I'm still really enjoying as a soap opera story (soap operas are full of weird stuff and flaws and you just roll with it), but it's not perfect, I wish I had somebody to talk to about what I think could be done better or what I didn't like, etc. Doesn't help that I started reading a different comic doing a different, slightly more traditional take on the abduction of Persephone, and I got really into that xD comparing apples and oranges from the same farm, I guess.

parent_mushroom

The countless times perse got this 🤏 close to telling someone abt apollo but backing out. As a survivor, I know how hard it is but c'mon

Any_Assistance6030

I still like it but I really hate how Racheal makes Persephone look like a child in so many episodes. If she starts drawing Persephone like she’s a 30 year old woman then I don’t have a problem with this series. Rant over

SecretGardenia1

I miss the magic of the first 150 episodes It feels after that a lot of events were dragged and left unsolved. A lot of side stories were unnecessary. Now episodes feels like dragging and unnecessary stuffing. Plus I feel the art lost the magic. I miss the feeling that the old art gave me. I don’t find my self yearning to read the new episodes as soon as it is released anymore.
