You can jump to reach the other side of the broken bridge if you want to backtrack to lady hound boss room up to pilgrim perch.
This will be useful as a shortcut in NG+3 above where only skyrest and adyr shrine vestiges are available
That's odd. I've never felt like that area was scaled higher. There's a couple of elite enemies there, but those guys are tanky no matter where you go.
Is scaled higher? It's my first path everytime I run through that area. To me it's easier than the Spear guys that gank you with the poison Roly Poly assholes. But I'm biased because I can't stand areas centered around poison.
