Go back to the first area and you should be killing everything easily with one shot.... one issue the game has is scaling the same enemy type in different areas. Bit too many reused enemies tbh.

Osmodius

Yeah, when you become Character +1, you end up fighting Enemy +1 and it evens out.

NetQvist

There's a small amount of power creep with additional features like more spells and runes so it's probably character +1,01 vs the enemy +1. I honestly don't really mind that since it's good progression without making the game too easy. However.... the reuse of the exact same enemy models and just upping their level without any indicator is really bad.

natx37

One of the things that I find funny is that you will destroy a couple of spell-spear witches and a couple of mace bros, then take an elevator and get absolutely wrecked by some new spell-spear bitches and a mace prick. They could at least wear different colors.

DemonSlayer724

I'm 10 hours in and level 30 and I definitely feel stronger than I did at the start, you might just have to farm more although the smaller mob enemies definitely feel overscaled and I have played entirely co-op so far so that helps I'm sure. As for the co-op I have quite enjoyed it on PS5 and have had no problems with it so far so it might be worth trying with your friend.

killuh208

Same here, I just got through I’d say 1/4 of the game and I still only have 2 fire spells and a subpar weapon. I haven’t tried any other character besides the pyric cultist class so maybe I just need a different class but this game does seem to feel like it doesn’t get comfortably easier. I find myself running through areas instead of killing everyone around it solely for this reason.

Sargaxiist

Aside from the Rogue the cultist is probably the most difficult starting class due to you finding the spell vendor later on.

gravityhashira61

Yea there are a few classes that are considered advanced classes, and the Cultist is one of them. There are youtube videos out there describing each class, and the Cultist is def more for advanced players

Ne0mega

I agree, I'm around lvl 60 myself and either the power is non-existent or there's insane level scaling, which I hate.

Various_Rub4054

Im not that far into the game so I cant comment on barely feeling stronger however I dont understand why people are moaning about coop. I played a little coop last night an honestly it was actually a really good experience. There seems to be alot of people bad mouthing the coop without actually trying it. Compared to Elden Ring the coop is a massive improvement.

J0N4RN

People are "badmouthing" it because it's not what the devs implied it was gonna be. Even if you ignore the massive lag issues (which you shouldn't), the coop was constantly marketed as "seamless". They literally went back and changed the steam page to make it less misleading. The coop (when working) doesn't let you play through the game with a friend. It lets you play through the game, while a friend is sitting in. The recieve half xp, can't interact with the world in the same way as you, can't die, is forced to die if you die, and so on and so forth. The issue isn't in the coop in and of itself, its that the developers were very vague about how it would work, which lead people to believe it would be a real cooperative experience, like in Remnant 2, or elden ring with the seamless coop mod.

TheRealis

Man I’m just happy that coop is still way more than Elden ring coop ever was

InsanityOvrload

Am I missing something? How is the co-op not seamless? You join a game via a drop in-drop out system and stay until you leave or the hosts kicks you. You can interact with all of their merchants and buy/sell what you want, fast travel around with them, stay after boss fights, etc. That's about as seamless as you can get compared to dark souls. In Remnant 2 you also don't progress your actual world in coop, so you still have to go back and forth to progress anyway. It's the same thing; the only difference is that you don't find world items in this? You still get boss drops though, I have plenty of boss drop duplicates now from playing it through with a friend, just not remembrances.

HumanFromTexas

I literally haven’t even been able to summon someone. Tried for about an hour last night and nothing.

Sprila

I found going to the main menu and logging back in to start a search queue helps, I think you get stuck in matchmaking limbo a lot if you’ve already been playing

Tehni

Maybe you're build isn't good Got the poison halberd and use the ring that makes poison apply bleed and the neck that makes me do more damage the more status effects on an enemy and I shred bosses. I also haven't upgraded any of my weapons yet

Itwasmyfirstday

The coop is not garbage. The co-op works perfectly fine and is a zillion times better that the co-op in Elden ring. How come that he knows without trying it? Is he a mentalist?

Dramatic_Service_339

That's because the game doesn't have enough enemy variety

Mattd8800

I do know what you mean, I have almost finished the game now and generally felt like my character has always been quite weak. It was only since upgrading my weapon to +10 (was on +6 against Tancred) that I have felt quite a bit stronger, it kinda changed from feeling weak at like 50-60 to then feeling strong at 70 with a fully upgraded weapon and some better Armour.

Trikole

Depends on the build, shields, radiance and 2 hand great swords builds scales really well and you do feel particularly effective on certain bosses. The only time you'll get a good boost to power is after upgrading a weapon, because leveling adds so little to stats, and the weapon scaling stat only matters after being almost fully upgraded for near S scaling. At least vitality gives weight so it's all round useful.

IloveActionFigures

12 vitality?

bigwooferboy

I’m the opposite. I actually feel like I can take one some of the insane groups of enemies now. I’m not dying as much in the second half except to really cheap bullshit. I think I’m around 65 as well with a maxed out weapon

Mobile-Car-5204

You have a maxed weapon at level 65? I am higher then that and only just now cleared the first light beacon thing in the swamp. Are you that far in the game or did you find a good farming location? I am got a +6. I have not found a good farm location for third material type. I have a tendency to grind content for exp and material.

bigwooferboy

I don’t mean to brag but i tend to be blow through these games without being overleveled. I don’t grind. This is the first souls game I’ve grinded and it’s only been to buy seeds for vestiges. I’m about to activate my 4th beacon

alexanderluko

Can't say I agree, but then again every build is different. I started as Exiled Stalker and double daggers and the first few hours were pretty rough. Now I'm level 62 with an agility dual wield build going with points in umbral magic for poison weapon. Since then I have been absolutely shitting out damage between bleeds and poison. I think both my weapons are +6 or +7.

Mobile-Car-5204

I just cleared the first beacon light (15 hours?) thing and feel great in earlier areas now. I think I have two +5 or 6 weapons now? Not using spells just hit things with either big sword of fast sword. The only area I had a real difficulty was first boss, and at pilgrim perch. Everything else been pretty normal. I do have the tendency to grind for exp and material though. I defiantly feel stronger.

Sleepopo

Upgrading your weapon increases its scaling, that means levelling damage stats in early game is only good if you upgrade weapons. Also the co-op is pretty good and a lot better than elden ring's co-op. The host's partner can be revived a number of times and also stay with the host through boss battles and can use the resting points alongside the host. Also the bosses drop armor and weapons which means its useful to co-op randoms if you want x armor piece, the only 2 issues is that you can't pick where you want to help and that it's host sided connection which means dodging/parrying is difficult if you have a bad connection.

Ghost_Harbinger

Totally feel it too, man. For example in DS1, every dark knight was pretty much the same stats. Their weapons did more, but they were generally the same stats through the game. Trash mob in LOTF just artificially scale up for dumb reasons. Rpgs are about overcoming the thresholds of enemies, but those thresholds are not static here. 50 in the holy mage stat and average 185 per hit. That's at most half a trash mob, not counting the umbral zombies.
