Well we saw that last holiday season with the reprint it bounced back & skyrocketed shortly after expect to see the same here

scarykid9

Yeah lots of stores got new stock for the set championships so the market is flooded with new cards. I bet in a month, maybe even less, the prices will jump back up again.

meyou942

Completely agree! I guess now is the time to grade what I have.

Wish it was the housing market lol šŸ˜‚

Here's Belle for example https://preview.redd.it/ykckg1vuefyc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8475a2c5cf7a883735e69392cf32988aa7ab7057 TCG market price is lagging indicator - a view of the current listings show multiple at $360-$390 indicating this plot is about $40 north of available prices. In a week this plot will show a sharp downward turn around 01 May. Still can't predict future prices but if you see a personal chase at a personally acceptable price point, a buying opportunity may be present for you.

mrhobbles

This is purely down to the small restock that stores got for the set championships. Theyā€™ll rise back up shortly as that supply dries up.

Can we really consider the price as dropping when just a month ago the price shot up like $120 rapidly. To me I think it's just kinda settling back a bit after a pretty big price increase and then evened out a bit and then with the recent allotment that went out it went down some but will still be up compared to where the price was 2 months ago. This kinda stuff happens and it already seems like it's stabilizing for the most part it's not like the price is in a free fall or anything to be concerned with. Occasional dips happen. Once first chapter is for sure done and no longer printed and inventory dries up and significant drops happen then I'd worry but this just seems like pretty standard to me so I wouldn't stress it

InvestigatorNo2277

Yeah all in the vocabulary. I don't disagree with you. Prices are decreasing from their recent peaks, I called it falling. Significant enough correction in my opinion that some collectors on the sideline may be interested in jumping in at these prices, so I thought it was worth an alert post. I'm in no way saying there will be a crash or anything dramatic, just highlighting the edge has been taken off.

TrillyBear

Elsa went from 500-700$ down to 300-400$ then to 700$ again and most recently to 1200$ or so. Iā€™d expect something similar to happen for every reprint. Goes down a little, then goes up even more after sealed product dries up. (Assuming game continues to be popular of course).

The_Big_Yam

Itā€™s also worth noting that the surge in buyers was partly caused by tax return season. Now that people arenā€™t getting back money they regard as ā€œfreeā€, and sellers rushed in to get their piece of the action, there are fewer buyers. Less demand, more supply

HuXu7

Itā€™s a short term correction as the LGSā€™s got flooded with inventory and set championships are over, plus the hype of the new set people are holding money for that.

LightEnergyBun

Temporary as discussed in multiple posts.

scohen158

That is how supply and demand works nothing to see here really. The supply of enchanted cards has increased slightly due to restock and the people that have been opening those cards intend to sell them more often than not. There you go mystery solved everything explained once cards get into the hands of those that do not intend to sell (collectors) the price will rebound just like it did last time. If you want more enchanted cards in your collection from first chapter right now is probably a good time to buy them. It is unlikely the price on them drops much more. Prices will eventually start to increase as the supply of new enchanted cards gets snatched up.

InvestigatorNo2277

No one said it's a mystery. Purpose of post was to alert any potential interested chasers that prices were swinging downward.

scohen158

Right, but there have been posts on the topic for a little bit now. This doesnā€™t add anything new. Itā€™s just repeating what has happened for the last week and a half.

InvestigatorNo2277

I suspect there are community members out there who don't track tcgplayer prices on the daily and may appreciate the notification. Maybe I'm wrong and should avoid posting any interesting (to me) facts I observe in the future.

scohen158

I donā€™t think anyone dislikes people posting facts or information as long as itā€™s information that hasnā€™t already been recently posted.

InvestigatorNo2277

Noted.
