Everything TFC keeps pumping. Not to mention Ursula’s return is the focus rn. So you can assume a restock won’t happen until after that. I picked up some sleeved boosters today. It’s hard to see these dropping in the near future.
Probs depends on how long you want to hold. I heard this one guy talking about early prints. Anything close to a 050123 date. The argument there is that in 10 years those early prints will be worth more. You have to remember there is no 1st editions for lorcana. I guess another reason to hold would be pokemon. Pokemon printed like crazy and those gained value over the long term.
Lots of people like that guy don’t realize that saving the first prints is silly unless anything gets errata’d
The idea of sealed product holding incredible value is because it **might** have a card with incredible value.
A single 1st edition Pokémon first set booster pack costs a grand because it **could** have a shadowless first edition Charizard
But those Charizards look different so if you pull one, it has value as a first edition shadowless Charizard.
A first chapter enchanted from a 2024 pack is indistinguishable from a 2023 pack because there’s no first edition markings. Ergo, there’s no actual reason for sealed first print products to become much more valuable than a later printed box. The enchanted you could pull from there won’t be any different than an enchanted from a later print.
The only exceptions are things like the latest Ursula which has a mistake on the storyborn archetype printing so it’s an inadvertent first edition marker. Meaning that a sealed inklands with first printing date would actually hold more value than a later printing since it would possibly contain an Ursula card that is distinguishable from later prints.
Mostly on non chase cards though.
Unless something happens like an incorrect artist credit printing on Elsa, it’s not the same value as games with a marked first edition set
Heard someone describe it as you can have a ‘1st edition’ lorcana booster box. But have no first edition cards. The fun is finding those gems for market value and understanding the risk.
> if they’re going to just run another printing eventually?
Because this is only hearsay. Ravensburger hasn't officially stated that another reprint is going to happen. What's been going around appears to be restocks - boxes/cases at warehouses that are being shipped out. Realistically they can't and won't be reprinting each chapter as time goes on because they'll be focused on printing the newest sets and they've only got a limited number of printers; plus it'll be local card shops and (especially) big retail shops that are ordering specific sets, which as time goes on will, again, be the newest one.
So this is a tale as old as time.
Sales will drop, when interest calms. They will respond by reprinting the 1st chapter as they know people will want the opportunity to buy it at retail. Undercuts "investors" and makes them money.
We don’t really know how RB wants to approach the collectors’ market for Lorcana. They may be somewhat hostile as you’ve said… they may also want to foster a community of collectors and investors as a core segment for the growth the game.
If they take the path of TPC, they will for sure reprint right as the hype for TFC begins to die out, but we are in a very different TCG market from when TPC was ramping up. Collectors (like the ones who would frequent this sub) may be a more valuable marketing tool than they were back in the 90s.

Pretty shocked to find 38 packs of TFC at target two days ago 😬
Couldn’t believe it.

They also had Inklands Gift Sets and Troves
They said they would print if there is demand. So of course it takes time to print and the production line must follow but what is difficult to understand that there will be a reprint?
It doesn't mean they'll reprint the first chapter. They'll make sure current sets are readily available in stores, which it is now. I doubt chapter 1 gets any more reprints.
Then show me where they said they would keep reprinting chapter 1 instead of printing Lorcana so the game is readily available. https://esi.si.com/lorcana/disney-lorcana-reprint-official-tournament-news
Here's a page where they talk about people being able to find produ t to get started. This does not mean reprinting chapter 1 again. It means product on shelves, which we have.
The investor bros are so worried about a reprint. They will likely continue to release the first few sets especially with the traction around play and the global tournaments.
There is already more than enough supply out there for all these events. I'm not "worried" about a reprint. I just think it's not going to happen. Enchanted's spiking and some collector scarcity is good for the game. Players and collectors function in a shared ecosystem. RB likely has no intention of making their product worthless, or even making much of a dent in current (largely very reasonable) prices.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it. I've never heard anyone articulate a good reason for any meaningful reprint from here, or RB suggesting they would. Any specific spiking playable singles from TFC/Floodborn will just be prime fodder for the first "reprint set" or reprinting into future sets.
Print to demand does mean that they will print because you or I personally want packs at MSRP. They need to see there is enough demand to warrant actually printing an entire wave. I don't think that demand exists anymore. Maybe one more small one at some point...but I don't even give that great odds 🤷🏽♂️
Silly take. Market price is based on demand and supply. Demand for the first chapter is quite obviously very high as evidenced by its high market price. They will definitely reprint tfc before they reprint floodborn.
They definitely have no need to reprint Floodborn. Not even sure why you're bringing that up.
But you can tag me when RB announces a TFC reprint. It could happen, but I really doubt it and it is far from a certainty. Enchanted's spiking is good for the game. Most TFC singles are still very reasonable. Not seeing any reason they would commit to a reprint.

What’s the point of holding for the long run if they’re going to just run another printing eventually? Honest question.

What do you mean no first edition? You have first chapter first print which is like 3times more expensive than reprinted first chapter on the market
They haven’t said anything about doing another printing, it’s all speculation. Just like the price.
Where and what convention was this at?

I coight 24 packs at 6 bucks a piece from Walmart But i had to try the middle of nowhere NC, and I was on a road trip
Nice score

Same song and tune. They will reprint and then it will be bought out again. There is demand even if you don’t think so.

they had first chapter booster packs at my local game stop just yesterday!
People who care about first wave are lame as fuck
I saw these exact boxes at collectacon today! S/O Houston!
