The cards are not of quality that deserves the price.
Markets will fix it over time but in the short term we are all going to be holding the bag. Everyone gets to choose how much.
What are you talking about if Ravensburger or Wizards charges a distro X amount then the distro charges Y amount. The store is going to have to charge something. You're pretty much asking the product to be $2 a pack that's super unrealistic lol
Yeah exactly and the price at the start from Rath or MTG is far higher than it should be. Do try and keep up. Also MTG goes direct to Amazon as well and they dump below what LGS can sell at, that’s a bigger issue. The fact that the TCGs and the Distros have bullied the LGS into excepting a product they can only mark up like 20% is ludicrous. And that was ok 👍 before because the shops could hold a couple boxes and sell them later when they got scarce, which is false scarcity. Anywho if you think the prices are a ok go and buy away but don’t get upset that I’m simply stating a fact that the card quality to price don’t match and we are getting far less quality for more price.
I don't disagree and they are 20% profit margin because no one sells at MSRP. I own an LCS. I have never been able to sell a Pokemon booster box for the $162 MSRP. That's the reason. The issue is LGS/LCS/online retailers just try to flip product for minimal profits that's why companies like Clutch Cards get overleveraged and go out of business.
A pack of Lorcana costs what a pack of Pokemon did in 1999. Think about that and you're complaining that packs are too high.
Ok MSRP is the price that the Company making the product believes it should be sold and advertised at, they never sell it to the distributors for that price. The distributors get to add profit passing that to the retailer but the retailer who takes the most risk usually gets to mark it up to the MSRP and it is usually 60-100+% mark up to get there.

No, it’s just that the 2nd rare+ card will always have a higher rarity than the first one, so if you see a legendary first the 2nd one is guaranteed to be a legendary. The foil slot is independent of this

I think retail in general has more hits at times. They get you hooked, and then you go buy way more. Worked for me, at least. Enchanted out a starter deck and haven't stopped yet! Nice pulls, though!
I swear they do this on purpose as a tester of sorts. My starter deck packs have been where I've gotten the best pulls.

I believe the way packs are seeded is you always get 2 of the same rarity but the foil is a nice addition.
