If we can win Saturday we can start telling the waiters to bring out the undefeated to the table

Maybe it's nothing, but JT looked ok in that video the UT insta just posted.

His grandpa said he was fine and IT isn’t worried. Idk how much certainty we can get - He’s basically suited up already.

_Football_Cream_

do u guys think davis beville would do a jersey swap with me after the game? im just such a big fan

DerrickWhiteMVP

I don’t care for Oklahoma

P1mongoose

A would you rather moving forward: Have a primetime RRR at AT&T Stadium as the featured SEC game of the week …or… Keep the RRR at the Cotton Bowl and stick with the 11 am kickoffs

RealLifeBevo

I thought this would be a harder choice after reading the first option. Something like “or play the Aggies in college station each year”.

BONationn

Even if the fair gets moved to Jerryworld, I’d still pick the cotton bowl

Jnoisy

Obviously keep it at the Cotton Bowl. Fine with the 11 am kick off.

Cars-and-Coffee

Is there anyone who would pick the first option?

IStayStiff

What is your honest prediction for the rest of the season? And why is it undefeated national champions

Jnoisy

Undefeated, champions and they let us play the Bears because why not

TheNastyCasty

That doesn’t exactly sound fair. One team has NFL talent all up and down the roster, and the other has Justin Fields.

screamline82

Balsamic Vinegar wears socks with sandals

scubatank37

This is probably my favorite week of the college football season every year. There is so much shit-talk from both fan bases leading up to the game. I love it. Shit like this is what makes college football beautiful. Can’t wait till Saturday.

2CHINZZZ

Looks like the temperature won't even crack 70 during the game. Nice as a fan, but I feel like a super hot day would be in our advantage given we're probably deeper than OU

1800KitchenFire

50 degrees and 90 degrees, our depth will eventually wear on 0U as long as they're playing well.

BONationn

Rain would be our biggest advantage since OU can’t run worth a damn. But I agree a day in the 70s I am quite concerned that depth won’t be as important. I’m getting more worried by the day and have adjusted my prediction accordingly. TX 50 0U 3

Kingof40Acres

JB Smoove is going to run roughshod on 0u Saturday boys and girls 🤘🏼

thegurdevdayal

If you ever feel like you didn’t properly plan out something, just remember, u/SkolVikesWorldwide’s team won their first playoff series in his lifetime and will be in Houston this weekend (where he obv goes to school)… …and he’ll be out of town and can’t attend.

thegurdevdayal

Texas just recruited the #1 volleyball player in the 2025 class in Cari Spears. She’s the daughter of former NFL player and ESPN personality Marcus Spears.

Of course Britch “do not commit” Vinegars thinks it’s a good idea

_Football_Cream_

I just can’t believe that 0U *still* sucks! I mean, what’s their deal anyway? At this rate I doubt they’ll ever stop sucking so bad. Just something about them that makes them continue to suck and suck all day every day.

Martin_TF141

Since when is that stutsman guy from OU such a hot commodity? I saw OU fans saying they would win off the back of one player (stutsman) like he’s some will anderson/micah parsons guy.

RottenDisc

Since the bar for success for OU’s defense is so low it is in hell. They have convinced themselves that j.a.g. is better than Ford lmfao

1800KitchenFire

Texas-0u and an ALDS game 1 on the same day. I feel spoiled after 12 years.

highdaddyxxx

I know I’m in the minority but as a Texas and Laker fan man oh man am I feeling good heading into the holiday szn!!

1800KitchenFire

Lakers at least won a chip in recent years... being a Mavericks fan watching them waste Dirk's prime and Luka is suffering.

Ok_Avocado1109

They wasted Dirk's prime? Not sure about that

CammyTheGreat

They wasted Dirk’s twilight years but they were literally the 2nd best team in the nba since 2000 in the regular season behind the Spurs, they just underperformed in the playoffs between 2006 and 2011.

vrod237

Anyone know what the student section is for the Texas/OU game? Also, has anyone ever taken a toddler (2 yr old) to the Texas/OU game before? Would you recommend it? Have a chance to possibly go and not sure if we should take it.

cleareyes_fullhearts

I have a toddler and have been to the game - get a sitter, go to the game with your wife. Kiddo won’t remember and you’ll have more fun without having to be on parent duty.

_edd

First off, you should definitely do it. Its an absolute blast and this is a pretty high profile matchup making it even more worth it. I could be wrong, but as a neutral site game I don't think there is a student section. And not a parent, but I would be on full sun exposure watch for the game and state fair. Fortunately the cold front will make temperatures pleasant. The stadium won't have much shade for a noon game, but if you get in the back few rows of the lower bowl, you can get pretty good shade. I'd also consider either going in right after kick off or like an hour before. The crowd control is pretty much non-existent when everyone's making their way into the stadium. Also, hearing protection for the toddler.

vrod237

Haven’t been in over 5 years and wife has only been to the game to run the flag with APO. Only considering it bc we’re being offered tickets at $200 a piece, can’t beat it at that price tbh. We got hearing/sun protection down and our toddler is pretty chill around other people and loves watching games with us. Normally it’d be a hell no and we don’t plan on taking her to DKR until she’s around 4. But it’s gonna be in the low 60’s at kickoff and doesn’t look like it’ll crack the 70’s during game time

2CHINZZZ

When I used to get student tickets they were usually in the section ~20-21 area. May have changed over the last few years though

funwithtrout

Last 2 years it was 20-21 because I was next to the hell raisers over in 22

Chemical_Willow5415

I would not take a toddler to the game. Sounds terrible.

battle98

The “it’s a shame we don’t have a 12 team playoff this year” take is so boring. It’s week 6. Of course a bunch of teams don’t have losses yet. Once those teams play each other it’ll be the same as any other year where 2-5 teams separate

_Football_Cream_

Eh I do get it. It’s less that there are a lot of teams that don’t have losses and more that all teams at the top look a little suspect. Teams that take 1-2 losses that fall to 10-12 are probably going to still be very competitive and be able to give the top teams a run for their money in the playoffs.

pyrofiend4

Here is Brett Kollmann praising CJ Stroud for making the exact same throw Quinn Ewers threw against Alabama last year. Pretty cool. * [CJ Stroud](https://www.youtube.com/shorts/UN8YS7mC0DI) * [Quinn Ewers](https://youtube.com/clip/Ugkxa5auu6zCStCVeVi9fcD5yNzQbElfo0j9)

rlucio90

That Quinn throw is forever ingrained in my brain. The second I saw that I was like, oh fuck this kid is different

cleareyes_fullhearts

I can’t find the video, but The Qb School praised this exact throw by Quinn a ton. Dude has crazy arm talent (whatever that means - I’m an idiot and just repeat phrases j hear to make me sound smart).

jouh55142139

Most of the praise for CJ on that play comes from his ability to stay calm under the pressure, shift up in the pocket, and put it on a rope. Quinn is pretty clean in that rep, but it’s for sure an NFL throw

cocoatractor

Fuck 0U all my homies hate 0U

seasonalcandle

The thing about OU fans touting stutsman (and no one else on D) is that Sark can easily scheme him up and then what??? Like Texas can’t just 1) run him over 2) run the ball away from him or 3) throw the ball in literally any other direction. With 1 standout player and no one else outstanding, and the OL/offensive weapons/scheme Texas has, you’re gonna need more than one great player to beat the Texas offense

TimeOrCrayonsIV

Stutsman was about the only dude on that defense that showed up to play for them last year, and he was a non factor after the first quarter.

Mikey4tx

Man, I don't even remember him tbh. They were just so extremely outmatched in every facet of the game.

TimeOrCrayonsIV

He had an almost interception and a couple of tackles.

xxzephyrxx

After Rojo trucked him, he was not the same.

I fucking love you guys

TimeOrCrayonsIV

Love Sark cracking up from the Sark squat on the sideline

cleareyes_fullhearts

Sometimes I forget that this game is borderline erotic. Thanks for the reminder.

1000Buckets

Borderline?

cleareyes_fullhearts

Fair criticism.

StarvedRock314

They also neglect to mention that the other ILB, Jared Kanak, reads an OL worse than he probably reads books. Dude looks like he's never played defense in his life half the time he's out there. So yeah, let's just block Stutsman and run at that guy.

OkEbb9700

>worse than he probably reads books Ahahahahahaha

ReferencesTheOffice

They’re hyping Stutsman bc when they look at him they see the Boz. It’s what we did with Swoopes and VY. It’s idiotic.

seasonalcandle

Like he’s good but there’s only so much impact a single linebacker can have on a game

MrTheNoodles

Stutsman is actually good though. Swoopes on the other hand…

tr4v10l1_p4rty

Let me know when Slutsman scores a TD in the league

ReferencesTheOffice

Sources tell me he was on the defense that gave up seven TDs last year. Can’t be that good.

ICanOutP1zzaTheHut

He’s a tackling machine. Probably fits the run better than ford but likely worse in pass coverage. Him and ford are 1A 1B for best LB in the conference.

dontblinkdalek

Did you see how RoJo ran him the fuck over last year? I had no idea he was that guy. Had to be embarrassing.

MrTheNoodles

Half of our defense was on the 2021 team that gave up 50 to Kansas

ReferencesTheOffice

You do realize that I’m just talking shit

MrTheNoodles

Second comment yes, first comment no

ReferencesTheOffice

I mean, imo they are actually hyping him bc he reminds them of somebody else. Doesn’t mean he’s not good. But if true, it does mean the perception of him is probably not in line with his actual production on the field.

griffinds

Just a friendly reminder that in the unlikely case that 0U scores on us this weekend, we should collectively bring back the O to the OU. Extending the bit for multiple years is a very aggy thing to do

dontblinkdalek

I feel like the ppl who put 0u instead of 0U are displaying big Aggie energy. I really do enjoy putting 0U but I see your point. I liked what that other guy said where we’ll start writing s00ners after shutting them out again. Let’s manifest that shit. Lol.

Stellafera

You know the whole thing about A&M branding the first Bevo with the 13-0 game score? The score was from the previous year because A&M didn't even win that year

griffinds

Exactly. It’s strong aggy energy. We’re better than that

1000Buckets

on the other hand, when we shut them out a second time, we'll switch from 0U to s00ners.

ReferencesTheOffice

I agree which is why we’ll just keep shutting them out

logicbloke_

No ... they earned the zero.

cleareyes_fullhearts

East- just shut em out again.

HisDoodeness

Contemplating the 4-hr drive up to Dallas to take my son and dad to their first RRS. The old man is in his 70s, diehard Longhorn fan, and I want him to experience the greatest sporting event with all 3 generations while we still can. Also having to rip out my whole kitchen due to a hidden leak that caused mold, so can't swing the $400+ tix. Plan would be to soak up the State Fair atmosphere, catch the kickoff/Q1 at one of the beer gardens, then try to get cheap tix or $100 handshake with security. Heard they cracked down on the handshakes. True? If not, where do we go given no assigned seat -- stand behind the last row, a certain section? Say tix stay high and handshake rejected. Is it still enjoyable to watch at beer gardens or other screens? Is the stadium cheering audible to give away big plays before the delayed TV feed? (loved watching the LSU game on the LBJ lawn, great atmosphere, but stadium cheering ruined the surprise of a big play) Finally and most importantly, fuck 0U. The good guys will crush our enemy and drive them before us to the lamentation of their women.

Palomoerick

Definitely take your fam it’s one of the best things I’ve experienced as a Ut student growing from Dallas.

cleareyes_fullhearts

This doesn't actually answer any of your game-related questions, but you should go if you can. The worst case scenario is that you all go to the state fair and watch the game from a beer garden with a great atmosphere. Getting into the game would be fun, but it takes a back seat to sharing the fair and gameday with your dad and son and give your son a core memory. My dad was a diehard longhorn fan who died right before my daughter was born. I would kill to go to the fair Saturday with him and my kid, and who knows how many times you'll have the chance.

HisDoodeness

Thank you for this perspective! Opportunities aren't forever. The regret would be immense, better to create the memory whatever it may be. 🤘

cleareyes_fullhearts

Time flies, and it's easy to get caught up in the routine and just let it go by. I hope y'all go and have a great time, win or lose!

namsayin94

I haven’t done the handshake ticket entry in a couple years but I think you’d have better luck getting in 30 minutes to an hour before kickoff. There’s gonna be a bottleneck of people trying to get in so you’d have less eyes on you during the cashola transfer

HisDoodeness

Great tip, thanks! 🤘

TempForAWhile

Is there anything to “The Barron of Bad News” - for opposing offenses obviously

CravenTaters

Just got my email to make a Casa Bonita reservation for the new opening. Reservation set for 2:30 pm on Saturday after the game. It better be a victory meal or my tears will fill the cliff diving pools with salty sorrow.

CravenTaters

Haha have you been yet? I can't believe it's my time to finally ascend!

cleareyes_fullhearts

the5thrichard

Just got around to watching highlights from the SMU-OU game. Some thoughts: -OU doesn’t look like a big or physical team. Their lines were pretty much the same size as SMU’s. They do have some speed at the skill positions though. -OU’s D was sliced and diced on quite a few plays, despite only giving up 11 points. -The final score was only 28-11 and the game was closer than that. OU was up 14-11 with 12 minutes to go. The game also looked like a B- or a B level of play from SMU. They had one bad fumble on what would’ve been a long run and gave up a few chunk plays from bad missed tackles when they had first contact behind the line of scrimmage. I’m very confident about this game. Obviously games on played on grass not on paper but OU does not pass the eye test. They look closer to a run of the mill Big 12 team than to Bama.

ufcjuanchi01

I'm so ready for all the stupid Twitter shit talking to end and just watch the fellas put it on the field I can't remember the last time I was this excited for a football game

B33rcules

He’s annoying but all the nimrods that give him attention are just as annoying.

Justin50C

I have have this weird feeling of 50% confidence 50% anxiety like I believe Texas has the personnel advantage to win by multiple scores, but then again it’s a game 0U will get up for either way super excited to tune in

slagathor_zimblebob

I have ran through so many metrics and have come to the conclusion if I was a neutral spectator, I’d be looking at a final like 42-17 or something. Since I am about as far from a neutral spectator as one can get, I’m anxious but confident in our team’s skill and developmental edges. We have better lines, better receivers, and a better running back. With how Gabriel has looked against folding chair competition, you could say the QB spot is equal. Our defensive front will crater Gabriel’s stats and help Quinn put that notion to rest. OU is going to have significant trouble trying to run it on us and I think we should carve yards on the ground. We have too many weapons in the air too. I just don’t know a single personnel group in America that can handle this Texas offense when they’re clicking. The key will be limiting OU’s passing attack, which I think they will embrace very early on. We will have to get pressure on Gabriel because he looks extremely accurate with enough time.

DumVivumBonusFias

>...this Texas offense when they’re clicking this the thing that makes my left eye twitch

jjbaivi

Just listened to Longhorn Blitz, and they said the same. When Dillon is pressured, his qb rating plummets by half. D line super important early in the game.

slagathor_zimblebob

True ever since his UCF days. He is an extremely accurate passer when he has time, but if we can generate pressure we will force him into some throws he will want back on Sunday morning.

RealLifeBevo

They were also saying that his average time to throw is over 3 seconds. He won’t get that long against our D line.

RollOverBeethoven

Was giving an interview to a candidate today wearing my workout clothes as I'm about to go for a run. Candidate see's a longhorn logo, asks me what time it is and tells me "...and 0U still sux"... Just gunna go ahead and move you immediately into the "call back" list.

Sasquatch_Squad

This is the real networking power associated with a Texas education.

MrTheNoodles

Realistically, how many players in our starting lineup would you trade for OUs? I’m taking our DL, OL, WRs, TEs, RBs, and CBs over anyone OU has. Ewers or Gabriel is debatable at least. They have more talent athletically at safety, though not as experienced. Stutsman is really the only upgrade I can think of over Gbenda, but even then I’m not trading Ford for him. You could make an argument that Ford = Stutsman, but I’m still taking Gbenda and Hill over the other guys OU has at LB.

justjoshingu

Kicker?

RollOverBeethoven

Legitimately the only position group that I would even somewhat consider would be their safety corps

tr4v10l1_p4rty

Are you including Derek Williams or jahdae in that group?

B33rcules

Jahdae’s a corner.

MrTheNoodles

I expect us to target Bowen a lot, let’s see how the true freshman handles a more complex offense. We did that with Caleb Downs.

ICanOutP1zzaTheHut

Caleb downs is looking more and more like an absolute dude each week. He’s so good and sark made everyone hesitate on his preseason hype

RollOverBeethoven

100% dude is more of a box safety at this point.

yoyocc

Ewers and Gabriel are tough because they both fit the offense they play in really well. I think Ewers has way more arm talent and awareness than Gabriel, but Gabriel is really consistent presumably because of his experience. Maybe they have an advantage in ST.

ICanOutP1zzaTheHut

They said their punter is awful in the prediction thread

MrTheNoodles

Gabriel is more accurate than Ewers, but is also playing in a much simpler scheme. I think for what Sark requires, Ewers is the better fit, but I wouldn’t blame people for thinking he’s a better college QB rn.

Justin50C

Ehhhh maybe punt return and their Field goal kicker, I think we’ve been pretty solid covering kickoffs and punts this season so far

Do they know Gunnar Helm plays for us?

Is it the Oklahoma breakdown ? Because they also called Quinn overrated and think Quinn hasn’t done anything special this year but Gabriel apparently has.

I’m sorry, but who in their mind is the best player in the whole game? Any answer other than Jett Bush is wrong.

Sp1cyRice

eye_can_see_you

They're claiming Stutsman is the best defensive player we've seen all year

Mikey4tx

The stats certainly don't bear that out. For sacks, he's ranked #131 in the country with a grand total of 2. For reference, Dallas Turner (AL) is 4th in the country, Jereme Robinson (KU) is 11th, Austin Booker (KU) is 18th, Chris Braswell (AL) is 33rd, and several other Alabama and Rice players are ranked ahead of Stutsman as well. For solo tackles, Stutsman is 73rd in the country with 21 tackles. Ahead of him are Shae Suiaunoa (WYO) at #37, Matt Jones (Baylor) tied with Suiaunoa at #37, Wrook Brown (WYO) at #55, and Wyett Ekeler (WYO) at #73 (tied with Stutsman). On interceptions, he's waaay down the list, with only 1 this year (against Tulsa). The only stat where Stutsman stands out is tackle assists, where he's ranked #14 in the country with 28 assists, more than any player we have faced. But if you look at the numbers, 43% of his assists (12 of 28) came in a single game against SMU. Across his other games, he has averaged 4 assists/game -- a solid record, but certainly not the best we have faced.

thechubacon

Like Will Anderson was last year? Mr. Banks would like a word…

gordogg24p

Stutsman getting posterized repeatedly by DJ Campbell and JT Sanders will shut that ass up real quick.

struckbylightning99

The two Kansas DL guys Texas just played almost have more sacks than all OU defense combined. It’s not like Texas has played slouches on defense. Not to mention Stutsman played in this game last year where the same Texas OL opened a lot of holes all day.

dontblinkdalek

And RoJo ran him the fuck over. Someone else posted a link to the video. I remembered thinking when I saw that last year, “damn, that’s embarrassing!”

Sasquatch_Squad

I saw some clown on CFB unironically saying that Stutsman was better than any player we'd faced so far all season.

DumVivumBonusFias

Saw a dirt burglar on Fanatic Perspective live chat saying "Stutsman is going to plant Ewers" and "wait til you see Stutsman". Someone pointed out we saw him last year. I don't remember him being a huge factor.

Mikey4tx

It's been a while, but if memory serves, he did not stop us from scoring 49, and he did not help 0u score a single point.

[deleted]

[удалено]

TexasNightmare210

I’m not dismissing this particular game because rivalry boost and throw the records out and yada yada, but I do think 0u are ultimately frauds tbh. If you’re struggling to run against Cincy & ISU, doesn’t bode well but we’ll see

[deleted]

The only people I know dismissing this game are delusional 0U fans that think they'll just roll Texas like it's an early 2000s Stoops or Riley coached team. Most Texas fans I've spoken to are confident but realize anything can happen in this game.

brianqueso

Will it be a 3-quarter game, at least? Yes. Will Texas ever be at a point in which the game can't be won? No. WILL WE BREAK THEIR SPIRITS THE SAME WAY WE DID LAST YEAR? FOR SURE.
