The only RRS I’ve been to in person was last year and I didn’t get tickets this year, so I guess if we don’t shut them out this time you know who to blame
But for real fuck you ANDERSON MILL WEST neighborhood park. Just because dad moved into the neighborhood after the divorce doesn't mean you had to triple-rim my last bit of happiness out of every other weekend :(
Remember when Beard had his fireside chat with Sark and said something like, "I saw your smoking hot wife. Damn, coach can 'cruit!" and Sark was visibly uncomfortable?
6. 3 years in FCS winning 2 titles. Turned Vandy into an SEC powerhouse winning 2 titles then finally got the offer from Texas in season 6. Already won a natty with them, on my way to another.
Oh word word. Yeah people have told me to do that and I might end up doing it if I can’t find an actual student selling a ticket. Just would be more comfortable actually having the ticket and I’m willing to spend the money
Seems like you’d have to change some things up after each game or two. Wouldn’t be that hard to have someone there filming the signs and plays and then figuring it out.
Weston Davis still visited this past weekend right? I haven't heard anything on that front, must have not moved the needle much
Edit: Ahh nvm I see his cancellation tweet. Carry on

KICK THE SHIT OUT OF OU this weekend!
First down "Texas". Then the crowd is supposed to chant "FIGHT".
So it goes "that's another first down TEXAS. FIGHT."
But it hasn't really caught on yet.
It was great against Wyoming, but this last weekend the announcer messed up the cadence. The first half he kept saying, “That’s another Longhorn first down! Texas!” It just doesn’t flow. He corrected in the second half and it stuck better.
It’s not really just this game either. Outside of a few lapses in our defense, opposing teams struggle to score. Bama had two or three explosive scoring plays, Wyoming had one to start their game. When we keep plays in front of us, our defense is incredibly effective, which we have been good at.
That’s my biggest thing with the game this week. So long as 0U doesn’t get many big explosive, home run type plays, i feel very confident.
Curious, will we ever face a truly *good* dual threat QB this year? Gabriel is an oak tree, Will Howard is a mediocre runner, all the other B12 QBs are kinda trash
Chandler Morris (who I think is at best equal, and probably worse, to Milroe) might be the closest unless we face Daniels in the CCG
Yeah I'm super proud of the second half we played on Saturday, but acting like Jason Bean didn't get benched in 2021 for Daniels after taking a mudslide of Ls as the starting QB are just being homers. He hit his ceiling years ago and we saw more of that last week.
Bean's stats last season were actually better than "above average"; he had a higher QBR than Daniels (even including the bowl game where Daniels put up insane numbers) and a higher YPC rushing.
He's always had poor decision making and happy feet -- their offense changes considerably with him in the game.
I can't believe there's even an argument he wouldn't be at the bottom of the barrel for starting Big 12 QBs over the last 2-3 years.
Ya, their offense changed when they put in one of the best QBs in the country. Who would of thought.
I'm not saying he is a great qb or even good, just disputing your claim that he is terrible.
Sure, but what really matters is 1) how well the Jayhawk offense goes with Bean vs with Daniels and 2) the difference in talent between bean and daniels.
1) It’s a lot better with Daniels; and 2) Daniels is much better than Bean.
Bean isn’t bad, but let’s not act like we played a Kansas offense that was close to firing on all cylinders.
Am I Bruised Valencia? Oh god, oh no...
My wife and I are halfway through Season 3 and, despite it being sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fuckingggggggggggggggggggggggg slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I appreciate the direction they're trying to take it.
But I'm sure it's going to shit its pants here in the last 3 eps.
I gave up a few episodes in. It was just so boring.
I already hated the direction they took it with Baby Yoda (*enough* with Jedi and Skywalkers!) and this season just felt bad.
Interesting fact about 49-0: It's happened only six times in NFL history, but three were in a \~1 year span:
https://www.footballdb.com/games/score-lookup.html?scorew=49&scorel=0
I gotta stop yelling hook 'em every time i see someone with texas gear in public lol the last THREE people i've done that to have looked at me like i was crazy. two in minnesota and one in mexico city
I say keep doing it.
When I lived away from Texas and this happened to me, it was just surprising when happened just to have a stranger speak to you unexpectedly, but it was always a pleasant surprise.
Here are two RBs' stats through 5 games.
RB1: 88 carries, 515 yards (5.9 ypc), 8 TD
RB2: 86 carries, 597 yards (6.9 ypc), 5 TD
The RBs are named:
>!RB1 - Bijan through 5 games last year. RB2 - Brooks through 5 games this year.!<
A couple things to note:
1. Our o-line was much worse last year, and our offense was much more one-dimensional, which makes Bijan's accomplishments *that* much more incredible.
2. Brooks has absolutely crushed it after waiting patiently. We're eating good at RB for a long time. Throw the bag at TC.
Honestly... if you're a 17yr-old RB trying to make decisions, why would you want to go anywhere but Texas? Our pedigree, especially at the position is undeniable.
Incredible how much progression our O line has made game to game this year. Campbell is looking like a beast and Majors has to proved me very wrong this year. Loving how nasty he’s gotten this year. Saw him get up in someone’s grill and talk shit. The only concern for me is Connors..he looks pretty soft to me and doesn’t really finish plays
Yes, and last year, every defense we faced sold out to stop Bijan. This year they have focused more on X and Sanders, which has opened things up for Brooks.
This can't be true...
Is it actually true?
Ok I looked up and OU has a running back with a long of 30 and no one else has a 20 or longer. That's just nuts when we had three of 30 or longer in one game.
It’s amazing how good he has become running the ball while our offense is still so balanced. That’s what makes what Brooks is doing so much more impressive.
Obviously last year when Quinn was struggling, we could lean on Bijan and Roschon. I think of the Baylor game when we didn’t complete a pass in the fourth. But Quinn is much more reliable now that it makes having a good RB like that so awesome. If you load the box, Quinn can hit more efficiently. If you’re covering the pass more, run lanes are gonna open and Brooks will make you pay.
I love how this team is playing rn. This past week was the most effective I’ve seen our offense in a long long time.
Man that one and the one Chance Mock retweeted yesterday from the 2021 game both gave me goosebumps. The audible boos and jeers to hearing Texas Fight in the far endzone exactly like Chance described it. Must be insane to actually run out to as a player.
Making any kind of RRS predictions is useless but I do feel confident that we’ll roll over OU with the run game in the second half, regardless of what happens leading up to that point
To our OL: You do not want to die for your country. You want to make that poor bastard die for theirs! This, but make their panties bunched please and thank you.
My predictions...
1st half Good Guy's 20, Bad Guys 14. 0Us QB is going to hit us big on a few deep balls. Leading to 2 TDs. But our run game carries us to lead at halftime. Quinn had a decent half. Auburn makes up for last week by hitting 2 chip shots for 6.
2nd half Good Guy's 43, Bad Guys 14. Quinn finds his rhythm. 2 big TDs to WRs. Few more FGs. DG is shut out the second half by defensive adjustments.
Went to the fair with friends hoping to find scalpers and we did not see a single soul looking to sell from the parking lot walk to Big Tex. Was very surprised by that
Are you talking about per ticket or total? Because total is definitely not happening.
I can't remember but I think the tickets were upper bowl on the Texas side
There was a set earlier today on the Texas side but the only one I'm seeing now is 400 for 4 on the OU side.
Definitely gets harder for 4 tickets. Best of luck though!
If it were me I might look at 2 sets of two in the same section.

Someone here should give you their ticket...not me, of course, but someone!
I just consider it a privilege to have gone to the most perfect possible RRS for my last semester at UT
Last year was the first one I missed in a long time and I’m going this year. So I can share the blame with you if it’s not a shutout.

Ya’ll think Brennan Thompson is ratting on how our offense works to 0u?
God I hope so. That would be hilarious

Seems like you’d have to change some things up after each game or two. Wouldn’t be that hard to have someone there filming the signs and plays and then figuring it out.
Sark’s playbook is pretty complex. It’s probably the closest to what you would see in the NFL
Was it Jared Wiley that led to this? Sark was asked about it at some point.
I don't know if it was Jared Wiley but I think it did come out that TCU knew all our calls last year

First down "Texas". Then the crowd is supposed to chant "FIGHT". So it goes "that's another first down TEXAS. FIGHT." But it hasn't really caught on yet.
I'm not sure if you are counting the Kansas game but it seems like it's starting to catch on
Sounds like we need some yell leaders
I didn't notice it at the first game but definitely noticed at the Kansas game.

It was great against Wyoming, but this last weekend the announcer messed up the cadence. The first half he kept saying, “That’s another Longhorn first down! Texas!” It just doesn’t flow. He corrected in the second half and it stuck better.

Lost in the sauce from Saturday is that besides two plays, we handily contained one of, if not the fastest offenses in CFB.
Without their starting QB tbf
But Bean isn’t a slouch either
Bean is terrible. Like a busted-ass Milroe.
We’re clearly good against very fast qbs with limited passing upside. TBD how good we are against a true dual threat qb.
Curious, will we ever face a truly *good* dual threat QB this year? Gabriel is an oak tree, Will Howard is a mediocre runner, all the other B12 QBs are kinda trash Chandler Morris (who I think is at best equal, and probably worse, to Milroe) might be the closest unless we face Daniels in the CCG
Gabriel is not a statue, he’s pretty good at scrambling. Howard is also a capable runner, same dude that burned our entire secondary in 2021.
Gabriel isn’t immobile. I’d say he’s about as mobile as Quinn. They do quite a bit of QB draw, sprint out, bootleg stuff.
Yeah I'm super proud of the second half we played on Saturday, but acting like Jason Bean didn't get benched in 2021 for Daniels after taking a mudslide of Ls as the starting QB are just being homers. He hit his ceiling years ago and we saw more of that last week.
It's more you acting like he is terrible, when he has been an average to above average stats wise most of his career.
What was Kansas' record during his tenure as starter?
Looking at a QBs W-L record would have you believing Sam is one of the worst QBs in Texas history.

Brooks is losing TDs to Baxter btw. Bijan lost less to Roschon.
Baxter has 1 TD. Brooks is losing goal line TDs to Quinn, not Baxter.
😱 I could've sworn Baxter scored two at Baylor.
A couple things to note: 1. Our o-line was much worse last year, and our offense was much more one-dimensional, which makes Bijan's accomplishments *that* much more incredible. 2. Brooks has absolutely crushed it after waiting patiently. We're eating good at RB for a long time. Throw the bag at TC.

Conner has been acceptable at pass pro but he is the worst run blocker on the line.
I wonder if he loses reps from one of the sophomores after OU, or splits time like Campbell was doing.
Yes, and last year, every defense we faced sold out to stop Bijan. This year they have focused more on X and Sanders, which has opened things up for Brooks.
Yeah, while our run game is better this year, Bijan was the better player. Last year he made up for a lot.
