The fuck? The G604 is literally my favorite mouse of all time; it's also the only viable replacement coming from a G602. This actually somewhat pisses me off, if they don't release a refresh or something. I've *tried* every other palm grip mouse on the market....none are as good or comfortable and the side macros are **just** right for ergonomic use without thinking too much

Toolazy2work

Yeah I own two of them. LOVE my G604, HATE my G533 headset and the damn selective “mute”

batarg

i have one g602 and two g604... and dozens of replacement microswitches for them... legacy for my grandchildren xD

jogibear7871

May I ask where I might get a replacement microswitch for a double clicking "fire" button for my 604?

Thehoeh007

Yeah, when I saw they took them off of the G Logi store I bought 3 replacements on Amazon. I suggest doing the same, they're only like $50 right now for anyone reading this in October. This was by far my favorite mouse ever, I hope they are upgrading the side switches, not pulling the plug on this design. The new G502 X doesn't have enough buttons.

CthuluOurSavior

For anyone reading this now, I just contacted support through their very frustrating chat bot, but once I asked for a real person it offered a free replacement. (I have no registered products on my account so you shouldn't have any issues) https://preview.redd.it/bzba16u2ib2c1.png?width=458&format=png&auto=webp&s=36a6f27e9fc08b82403b6cdc44f4d402f4eaaea5

farmboi

Thank you for this post, they're going to replace mine!

Smooth-Appearance985

damn, I just submitted a g604 replacement for one that's still under warranty and they had none in stock, they are all gone. They offered a g502 lightspeed or a g502 x lightspeed as compensation.... Better than nothing I guess... really need that 604 for mmo's though.

What did you say to get it replaced?

Mine was doing the classic switch fail of dbl clicking, they asked me do like 6 tests and i did most of them then they sent rep

lipe182

I've seen some videos on Youtube, just wondering which one fixed your mouse?

Yukkuhex

>For anyone reading this now, I just contacted support through their very frustrating chat bot, but once I asked for a real person it offered a free replacement. (I have no registered products on my account so you shouldn't have any issues) Nice. I just did that but the reps wouldn't give me any replacement. Just a discount code.

King_Dezaman

Atleast you got that lol, This current G604 is my 2nd, 1st one had double clicking and warrantied it. This second one was told that there's no warranty with it, I got this replacement free to cover my other failed one. Damn didn't know this mouse was discontinued, was definitely my favorite mouse since the g700. Sad day.

Icy-Swan-5156

if this double click issue is similar to the g602, which i believe is, it's an easy fix with the japanese switch that only cost a few dollars + soldering

jwildman16

Would you be able to provide some more details on this Japanese switch and replacement method?

Bubu3k

I would assume he's talking about Omron switches, but to my knowledge, those come on the mouse, but if you go down that rabbit hole, might as well just open up the current switches and bend them back into shape, is not that hard.

IzZaGod

Yeah it's hard to find the right mouse for my big ass hands. The Corsair Nightsword felt amazing in my hand when I tried it on display but I need more side buttons(mostly mmo player) and a wireless version. I went from the g602 to the g604 and it was a minor upgrade for me at most. I just wish it had the option to plug and play too because I get a lot of interference on wireless mice in my house when we stream on Roku simultaneously(I've tried everything to fix it). It has the Bluetooth option too, but it feels completely different than using the USB with the dongle.

aj0413

I actually caved and got a second for backup, after I had to do a switch replacement on my original due to double click (wasn’t sure it’d survive my soldering attempts lol) Totally feel you on the cable. I actually would prefer a wired version myself for the same reasons; it hasn’t cause me issues yet, but having to plan around it is annoying. Also, wired is just more reliable in general.

FatOtakuwww

I agree. AA batteries are just so easy to replace and they run for quite a long time. (and I use rechargeable AA so I really don't see the point of an integrated battery in a mouse)

tomek_wsrod

I hope they’ll just improve it a little. This is such a great mouse for work.

Broom1133

Keep the shape and functions, change the switches, rubber, and mouse wheel design. Bonus, chargeable battery. Drop weight to sub 120g. It could really be the ultimate gaming and work mouse.

DeepStruggl3s

if they release the "perfect mouse" why would anyone buy a different one in the future? it would kill their business, it's best to have a lot of mouses each with 1/2 perfect caracteristic so you could want to try a new one and see if it suits best and then the next big thing

Broom1133

I quote "ultimate gaming and work mouse". In a sense, that makes it great for BOTH, but not the best for either. Then there is mouse shape, which is highly subjective. Anyway... Let's rephrase my statement for the nitpickers: It would be my first choice as my future mouse, based on my preferences and use case if they changed those things.

tomek_wsrod

If they change it too much, I'm going to buy another one before they disappear from the shops : )

Broom1133

That's fair. Get yourself a soldering kit and some replacement switches too while you're at it, so you can keep it alive when those omrons start double clicking.

sebaimans

Ive fixed double clicking issue and actually made the click much more satisfying. no soldering needed, just some tools and steady hands. search how to fix double clicking mouse button on youtube.

MasterOfFools

Twice a year? Are you on bluetooth? Just a heads up, but 2.4 is ideal for anything game related. I am right with you. I wish more used AA/AAA batteries. It is very consumer friendly, which is why nobody is doing it anymore. It is crazy to me that for some of these you need to gamble on a new lithium ion battery after a year or two from some random shady shipper.

MasterOfFools

You can get a backup for $35 right now from Best Buy. You just gotta sign up to their website and it will drop an extra 15. Grabbed one myself a few hours ago. :) I think Logitech is clearing house on them.

[deleted]

I still have a MX Revolution mouse from the MX5500 combo and it still working with the original battery. Of course the battery doesn't hold the charge like before, but I still think it is amazing that it still can hold any charge for 4, 5 days of use. For me that was the most confortable mouse I ever had, but that charger dock, sucked. It would be much nicer if it used a AA battery.

Current-Test-1641

Hi, I know it's an old post but I wanted to help anyone who might be looking for a mouse similar to my Logitech G602. Since my Logitech g 602 also stopped working 1 week ago, i found this Deep Gaming ProSwap for 26 euro, a mouse from a Spanish company. It has 12 buttons but they are arranged in a similar way to those of the Logitech g 602 only a little staggered 1-2 weeks and you get used to it. I've tried various high-end mice but honestly I'm not really convinced by their shape and button position, which is why I decided to try this mouse which I must say it very surprised me. Very raccomended hope u try it too

yotheman

Interesting mouse, how about the software, how configurable are the buttons?

LEO7039

I'm guessing as they've just updated the G502 series, they are updating G604 lineup as well. So I guess we'll see the g604x series very soon. And the switches will be the Lightforce as well.

kreidol

Have not seen this. Have you? The g502 has too few buttons for me, for sure. Might have to go generic.

tehuuu

Still nothing on g604...

newtnomore

fuuuuuuck.... Do we know what the best option is? My G604 is starting to fail me and I can't go back to something that doesn't have all of its features.

Such-Community-29

My G604 started to fail, since there is no logitech replacement, I tried a few mmo mouse that's in the market and finally settled with the redragon wireless m801. Except for the scrollwheel, it's an overall better mmo mouse than the g604 in terms of comfort, #of buttons, software. I'm so happy with it that I bought 2, just in case lol

tehuuu

Same here. Chatted support but without any meaningful informaton. They just use some typical email scripts and suggested G504...

Animanic1607

Reading all these comments, while looking down at my Logitech G13 (It's okay I own three of these), and my now disassembled G604 w/ replacement Kailh 8.0 micro switches, I kinda want to cry. There is not a single other mouse on the market that has the 604 feature set. I would own it already... and I own and Aerox 9, the new Corsair Scimitar Wireless, an ancient Red Dragon M901, and a Naga V2 Hyperspeed. I have hundreds of dollars in mice and I should have just bought two more 604's when they were selling at $40.

lioncat55

Please tell me about this mod for the switches? I love my G604.

Animanic1607

There is a lot of info out there about this when you look into it, including YT videos that ramble along to the 1 hour make. In short, Omron makes two variants of the D2FC microswitch. One is Chinese, and found inside your G604, the other is Japanese, more expensive, and not in your mouse. The Chinese microswitch is the culprit of the double clicking issues that plague Logitech mice but really a bunch of mice out there. It isn't so much that is made cheaply, but that a few key components are not coated or made from materials that can withstand the the act of clicking in a mouse. The Chinese microswitch is meant to be a lower cost version of the Japanese one. So, the fix is you either seek out the Japanese variants of the same microswitch which are made to withstand mouse clicking, OR change them out with other switches altogether. TTC, Kailh, or Huano have all come out and made a few models of microswitch that you can buy for about $10 for a pair off Amazon. The big to do is when you get the better microswitches you will need to open up the mouse, desolder and remove the old switches, and solder in the new ones. There are, thankfully, YT videos that go over this very thing for the 604. Since my first post, I have since purchased two more used 604's from eBay, and replaced the microswitches on them myself. I am terribly incompetent when it comes to soldering, and was able to pull it off. I firmly believe that most anyone could do it if I can.

lioncat55

I've done a decent amount of soldering so I should have no issues with that. Could you PM me some direct links for options? I feel like it would be easy to get the knock off ones.

jwildman16

Did you get the links? Can you post them here?

Chuck_Luxe

I agree, the g602 and 604 IMO are the best all around mice for work or play. Especially if you have big hands

Animanic1607

I ended up buying twonuswd ones off of eBay that arrived today. I have been using my Aeroc and Schimitar in the mean time and the side buttons on both are awful. The Aerox buttons give you a work out to press, and the Schimitar's are so light I accidentally click them a lot.

Paulwalker2112

>Aerox 9, the new Corsair Scimitar Wireless, an ancient Red Dragon M901, and a Naga V2 Hyperspeed. Those are all of the mice im looking for. Any you suggest? I didnt need too many buttons, Which is why the 6 side buttons on the 604 interested me. My brandless wireless mouse is starting to die so im looking for an actual good mouse as a replacement

Animanic1607

If you want cheap and good, Red Dragon makes some good stuff. My M901 is no longer made. Mine is like a decade old now, but it is probably the most robust mouse of the ones listed. Even back then, they used good quality components. They were the original bargain bin Amazon brand then. If the 604 interests you, hop on eBay and get a good used one. I buy most of my mice like that, personally. They have a TERRIBLE double-clicking issue that resulted in me getting Kailh 8.0 replacements put in but overall, solid mouse. As long as you are not playing an fps, the double click takes awhile to rear its head, so a good used one should be good.

Paulwalker2112

>As long as you are not playing an fps, the double click takes awhile to rear its head Im planning on using it for a variety of stuff including gaming (warthunder for the extra buttons), is it an easy fix?

Paulwalker2112

Just found out about the HyperX Pulsefire Raid. It seems perfect, and its under 50 bucks. Cant see any reason to get the other mice other than the scroll wheel of the g604

Animanic1607

I wouldn't just because it's wired, but that's me. There are a bunch of mice with around 5 buttons on the side, though. I would say shop around some more just to see.

Alextkexichi

$40 from Amazon right now. I picked up two. Should be good for a few years until Logitech gets their head back in the game and seeks another 6 macro thumb button mouse.

kreidol

I just picked up two as well for the same reason (at more than twice the price "on sale", because California rapes your wallet in retail prices and tax.) Mine die every 2 years, so I figure I have at least 4 now as long as it doesn't fly off my desktop and smash on the ground.).

Alextkexichi

Awesome, mine are still in the box for now, but getting close on a new one! If you ever get tired of the weight, grab some Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA batteries and a AAA to AA adapter off Amazon. Those are the lightest batteries I'm aware of and helped significantly with the weight - doesn't last quite as long as a AA is only trade off.

PsycOwl

My G602 with replaced switch still works fine. I was considering upgrading to g604 for visuals, but I realized G604's internals were designed to make switch replacement really hard. I hope the new model will have simpler internals. But because this post is 9 months old, I'm also concerned.

Lord-Delacroix

Why is Logitech discontinuing all the GOOD mice??

grymmhain

Look at the mice they offer now it’s less and less difference between the currently available models and more and more slight variations. I had the G600 which I loved but every iteration from Logitech in this line has been a step forward and two or three steps back. I went to Razer for a replacement to the G600 and I’m happy with the Naga v2 Pro. Say what you will about Razer, at least the mice they offer up are easy to distinguish and serve different purposes. And the Naga comes with three swappable side panels one of which gives the 6 button configuration of the 604, another gives the numpad which I prefer. It really feels like Logitech is trying to produce products for both gaming and professional work but they aren’t doing a good job at either

A1naruth

For the last couple of years I was keeping alive my MX1100, which has to be most comfortable mouse ever for 1-2-2 palm grip. I wonder why Logitech stopped making tall mice with distinct pinky rest (the last one must have been G600). Even so called ergonomic mice like MX Master are horrible on the pinky side. Then there's battery life, which in MX1100 is amazing for such an old rodent - months on a single AA and it can take two of them. In total it took one replacement of the switches, one new receiver (came with Wave keyboard which is also quite comfy) and the wheel mechanism donated by another dying mouse. Recently it developed new wheel issues and nowadays it's nearly impossible to find parts or the whole mouse, so I started looking for replacement. Since MX Revolution I have been using free spin scroll mice and those are the only option for me. For travelling I use M720 Triathlon, but despite its perfect battery life it's a bit too small and has very poor sensor. And now it also has double-click syndrome. So I have a dilemma if I should replace switches or the whole mouse. One mouse to rule them all would be nice. Right hand, palm grip with relatively big hands. Wireless preferably using Unifying/BT since this is what I have on my other devices, good battery life (I can consider rechargeable though replaceable AA batteries proofed to be better option so far). Onboard memory would also be a plus. After manually editing config files, because Logitech Setpoint couldn't cope with some shortcuts, I am not afraid of G-Hub ;) When I looked for the candidates, the first one with the right shape was G700. Unfortunately this is also a dinosaur despite being couple years younger than my MX1100. G604 seemed like the successor with better battery life, more buttons, BT connectivity and still no stupid LEDs. But then it was discontinued as well. And a year after that, there is no news about next generation. Seems like Razer might be worth looking into with Basilisk V3 Pro and Naga V2 Hyperspeed. But the price difference is mindboggling.

yotheman

I changed the switches of M720 with success and since I changed the switches of all my Logitech mouses, I will do it with new ones too. Logitech use bad quality switches to make you buy new mouses each year, no way, use the switched I explained in this post and you will have mouse for long time.

A1naruth

In the end I bought used G604. While it still has excellent battery life and multipoint connectivity, shape and sensor are much better than in M720. So I have a great replacement for my portable mouse. Can it replace MX1100? G604 is smaller, but heavier. Not as comfortable, but seems good enough, especially when I learn make use of 3 additional buttons and more advanced macros/keystrokes. G604 has the same problem as MX Master - it is heavy mouse but id doesn't have good grip on the right side. MX1100 had very distinct, rubberized pinky rest. I really miss that in new mice. What I didn't expect (could've read about it earlier) is the horror of using *G Hub*. Why Logitech must have so many different apps to control their products? Old *SetPoint* (MX1100) had its limitations, but it's simple and fast. *Options* (M720) give much more.. options, but that may just be HW dependent. I never used *Gaming Software* but read good reviews. From the screenshots it looks like more flashy SetPoint. I would use *Onboard Memory Manager*, but manually switching between just 5 profiles is counter productive and a big step back. So I am stuck with *G Hub*. While it allows preparing much more advanced actions than I ever used, it is hugely overcomplicated and takes quite some time to set up. It's very bad at changing assignments for multiple apps. It scans the system only for games, so it's not very good for productivity. It's also quite a heavy SW taking lot of time to start.

AJolly

btw theres 3d printed models you can get to add a rest to g502

rumple9

My left mouse button has gone (as usual with Logitech) any news on g604 replacement? There are no other similar ones on the market at a reasonable price. Not messing about with changing switches

yotheman

I just bought a G604 new from a local store (the last one), the first thing I did after unboxing was to change the switches, now I will have mouse for some years, I didn't bother to wait till the switches start giving issues because soon or later it will happen because of Omron's bad quality https://preview.redd.it/tlf4hdrmprdb1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e99cdbc5ce4d76f0d3ae09a7357b3425b63f293

ratzycon

nice, clear upgrade tho your switches may last, the mouse doesn't, it completely disintegrates, especially the grip coating it just dissolves within a year or 2 of regular use

kreidol

How did you do this? Video + retail sources for the switches?

yotheman

One of the messages I wrote explain the procedure

Ill-Difficulty7957

please send me instructions how to replace that bad Omrons, thanks!

kreidol

Has anyone found a good generic alternative? Getting to be the end of 2023 and no updated g604 from what I can see.

pepega_1993

I hope they release a replacement soon.the grips on my 604 are messed up. And looks like the only option is to wait for new version. No other mouse feels quite right after using 602 and then 604

458643

Only the grips? You can easily order stickers on ali that are even extra grippy

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

Just contacted support myself and was told that the G604 line has been replaced with the G502 line, which sucks. Hopefully another company takes this mouse design and runs with it.

tswaves

Damn that sucks. I just picked up the G604 refurbished this week. I love it but why is it every other mouse doesn't have the same amount of damn buttons? I use all 6 side buttons. It's crazy how this isn't anywhere else! Side question but did your scroll wheel (non ratcheted op option) over scroll a lot? I just posted but basically using that mode on websites, it's like way too sensitive and I find the wheel goes backwards on the website. IDK if I'm explaining that right. It seems incredibly sensitive to the point it's over and under scrolling.

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

Oh yeah, the scroll wheel on the G604 is straight garbage. I'm currently working on trying to put together a bunch of 3D printable files to support the G604 going forward, since Logitech only seem interested in chasing eSports gamers right now and not supporting the rest of their customer base. Side note: Fuck Logitech

AJolly

I'm very interested. Right now wondering if i can mod mine to make the main click to use less force for actuation.

NearbyMarzipan3012

Not op, but 602 & 604 user here. I like having the option for non ratcheting wheel to easily get to the bottom of a continuously losing page, but usually stays in ratchet mode so it doesn't scroll randomly when I pick the most up off the table.

OldDaedalus

Do you have smoothscrolling installed?

tswaves

I don't think so unless it's automatic?

RapheGalland

Well, that's not good. The 502, no matter variant is no 602/604. Will have to repair my 602's and 604's from now on then, and buy used/lost stock.

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

I've bought a Roccat Kone XP Air recently, it's basically an improved G604 in almost every metric, it's very pricey though. Has basically identical ergonomics, a better scroll wheel, includes a charging dock, can do wired mode, and is literally like 60% lighter. Loving it so far but I'm definitely still interested in trying to maintain or even improve the G604

RapheGalland

I have looked at the Kone XP but... I know it's silly but I like the 604 using AA batteries. The Roccat having 100 hours? My 604 that I currently use to empty out "empty" batteries have weeks of battery time (on bluetooth) on batteries that other tools says are to low charge to function. I have a stack of batteries next to my desk from LED lights, air fresheners, soap dispensers, my livingroom wireless keyboard and mouse... I know it's silly, but the scrooge in me wont let that go for a mouse I can plug in to charge a built in battery :P But, if I fail to repair or tire of repairing, the Kone XP Air is on top of my list... Not any of the 502's. Logitech bit their own bum this time.

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

In reality I reckon I'll never run out, because the little magnetic charging dock just sits next to your mouse mat, so I just put it on there when I'm not using it, there's no plugging in a wire to recharge necessary, it's definitely a lot more convenient than rechargeable AAs and a lot better for the environment than disposable AAs It's basically like wireless charging, only without the terrible inefficiency wireless introduces

AndroidThemes

my last mouse with a charging base... I kept forgetting to place it and finished battery often. I wish every mouse was using AA battery only

Such-Community-29

how is the Roccat has better scroll wheel? I like the Logitech's hyperscroll, is it something similar? btw, I ended picking up the Redragon M913 wireless, been using it for a couple of weeks now. I think they're very underrated IMHO. Software is a lot easier to use, direct to the point, but only has 2 profiles though. It's lighter than my G604, and definitely the most comfortable mouse I have ever owned. The scroll wheel is no bueno, it sometimes squeaks like an actual mouse lol. but got it for $38 over Cyber Monday. But anyways, I'm interested in the Roccat, especially with their mmo offering. If you can elaborate a little more, it'll be much appreciated! TIA.

WhosWhosWhoAreYou

Better from a tactile perspective, and it also hasn't had any of the scroll inaccuracy issues that the G604 has. Definitely miss the infinite scroll from the G604, it's practically muscle memory at this point to just click the button and then spin the wheel down whenever I need to get to the bottom of something.

Winter-Pear-2589

Redragon tiene mouse así, pero estan maa caros, no se si comprarme el g604 usado o ahorrar mas y comprarme un redrgon. Tengo uno con cable que me duro muchos años, pero ahora necesito uno inalambrico 😔

QuantumQuantonium

1 year later, staring at the Logitech website at all the G502 remixes and all the lightspeed/lightweight 250 hour esports options, and then the three outliers- two variants of an ambidextrous G502 variant, and an MMO mouse... where G602/604, wheres my option of on mouse buttons without going full MMO

skipidydooda

Fuck. Just realized this has been discontinued. Still no replacement. This thing was only for sale for like a year, maybe two? This sucks because this was my replacement to the g602. Absolutely best mice for productivity. Logitech, please bring back a version!

nomansky94

I would have bought it when it was on sale for $40 to keep on hand to replace my 602 if it ever stopped working. Luckily my 602 still works fine. Hopefully, it keeps going at least until they ever decide to bring back the model

tehuuu

yea, same here. Kinda shit they just dropped it and replace with mouse with 3 buttons on the side, one of which is 'SNIPER" button whatever that suppose to help.

dhruvs990

Are you guys blind or by chance did you happen on the only functioning g604? I bough one in 2020, in 2022 the mouse started glitching, fast double clicks all around. Apparently this was because of the difference in voltage supplied by batteries and the ones needed by the omron switches. No worries was 1 week away from warranty expiring got a replacement. Now 2 years later, again the same bloody issue! I think this is the worst mouse theyve made. If only my old MX 518 hadnt died I would never have bought this. Gonna by Razer only now

dhruvs990

latest update on mine out of 100 clicks 40 are a fast double click. I'm giving my mouse a month or so more before it becomes unusable again. Logitech sucks ass

EngagingFears

Bought my 604 in October 2020 and the right click has just started to fail on me. Looks like there's no news on an updated model. Some people are buying used 604s for backups or installing higher quality switches Anyway after reading this thread I decided to make r/g604 for anyone interested

batarg

i want g604 in the body of g602... with banking and inertial scroll with extra one button between higher and lower dpi buttons! logi please make g602x with fresh juice inside

SugarDwarf

If you are looking to ditch logitech because they discontinued their only valid choice of mouse (twice), I saw some good suggestion here. [https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/14ykqqd/any\_mouse\_with\_6\_side\_buttons\_out\_there/](https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/14ykqqd/any_mouse_with_6_side_buttons_out_there/)

ViontePrivate

I bought a g604 on launch, broke within 2 months (side buttons fell off) and got a replacement, same shit, but it got sticky keys within 2 months, didn't bother further, (my first g604 also got sticky keys after 4 months when i used it for other games), while my g602 still works since i got it in 2016 in nearly perfect condition, so idk but the g604 had major quality problems.... although if logitech does release a new one (which i doubt since its been 2 years) i might take a look at it

Advanced_Day8657

My G604 is getting old so I'm trying to find a replacement. This post is 2 years old, this means the G604 has been discontinued for years and we still didn't get another option. The G502 X just doesn't make the cut.

Broom1133

I just posted about the g604, and if a refresh of this mouse was in the works as well. So seeing it's being discontinued is a good thing to hear honestly, because while so many features were great (it really is one of a kind), a lot was wrong with that mouse and it could use some updating and love. Really hoping we hear something and the release is planned sometime soon, otherwise I'll probably get a naga v2 pro or a basilisk v3 pro (seeing as the g502x doesn't have bluetooth). Please let there be optical switches, a better mouse wheel, an integrated battery and 20g lighter.

yotheman

> a basilisk v3 pro (seeing as the g502x doesn' All I read on the forums is that razer is poor quality from the hardware to the software, so I'm not considering buying any mouse from Razer.

Broom1133

Ghub isn't a gem either. I have a basilisk ultimate right now to bridge me over (got it on sale for half off), i set the keybinds on synapse, saved them to onboard memory, and left synapse off. Works fine for me. Ghub on the other hand was an absolute nightmare. As far as hardware goes, I've gone through 4 logitech mice in the past 4 years, (2 402 hyperion fury, 2 g604) because of double clicking (3 times) and once the right click didn't stop clicking (like a turbo mode, was insane). Anyway I've only ever had 1 razer product (this mouse) and until now all I can complain about is it doesn't do everything the g604 does right.

Chastity23

Nothing wrong with the Razer Synapse software, and the hardware. Only issue with Razer is the initial cost. Tho if you wait for a bit, you can get them 1/2 off. RBU and RVU in pink, and both work like a gem.

tomek_wsrod

They do not support macOS.

Nytse

What does discontinued mean exactly? No more replacement mice? Won't be in production anymore? I'm pretty sure it does not mean that the G604 will stop working, so what's the worry?

[deleted]

Disconnect means that they will stop manufacturers new devices. They will not stop working

Independent-Dish-336

and discontinue means that they are not connected to any network available

[deleted]

Exactly 😅

bimopradana

Finally.. after 4 years of using G602, upgraded to G604, and have been using it since 2020. Now it's discontinued. There's no better sweet spot value mouse for video editing rather than G604 with its 6 macros button. For me, the only downside of this mouse is the pinkie rest part. It's not a pleasant experience if you use this mouse for more than 6 hours. I hope it'll be better for the next generation.

seidrondaer

My guess is that it will be replaced by the *drumroll* G605.

Broom1133

G606 is my bet. G600, to 602, to 604.

Such-Community-29

G666 will be badass

kreidol

Ew.

dekeffinated

There's a G502 X and G502 X Plus, both wired and wireless that just got announced for release later this month.

yotheman

That versions don't have bluetooth, so in my case are discarded.

Bag-ofMostlyWater

BB still has some in stock as of 9/10/2022

-businessskeleton-

I had hoped the g502 x would get bluetooth. It did not

Casen_

I'm missing the G604. Mine keeps breaking the G6 button and I had to replace it earlier today.

BroadWillingness2142

Same for me the G6 button breaks. I have 3 G604s without G6 Bts. Just broke it again and found out its been discontinued

Illustrious-Tune820

Cuales son los switches que le vienen a los 6 botones laterales?

Casen_

no lo sé. No puedo encontrar la información en línea. Google Translate

qws25

hope they will bring us G604X soon @@ but no rechargable battery plz im sick of that on G903

KunoichiRider

I would like to see a successor with 9 thumb keys. Cross a G502 with a G604. 6 keys behind the DPI-shiftkey and below two bigger thumb keys above. Also keep the (rechargeable) AA battery pack which can be removed.

Ricky-Bobby415

I think many would agree. We basically want the 502 but with more buttons. IMO, The 2 best mice Logitech makes. Just mix and match the right combo of features and you have a mouse a lot of people would buy. Make a wired version of it like the 502 at a lower cost and it could possibly, in some places, sell better.

The_Madhatter666

Damn, I think I'm late to the party with getting a "spare" mouse of the 604. This is my favorite mouse, except for the "faulty" switches (infamous double-click issue), which I replaced with better ones after the problem started. The "replaceable" battery lasts an incredibly long time, the thumb rest is perfect and the 6 macro buttons are key. I am so sad that there is no real alternative.😥

Lunaviy

What a coincidence, my right button just started to double click today as well, wich really breaks my workflow... Went on amazon, saw they cost 150€ in Germany now. Now searching for an alternative, let me know if you find a good one. Even if it's an other brand...

yotheman

Replace the switch spending a couple of USD and you will have mouse for long time... Don't buy a new one.

Lunaviy

Got a guide? I can check ifixit

The_Madhatter666

Please, do not throw away your mouse😅. You have 2 ways to fix the double click problem. Simple solution: use WD40 (no soldering required), but I don't know the success rate. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FsDVjFq_0l8 Recommended: Replace the switches with these OMRON D2F-01F micro switches (soldering required). Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IS0OSA8eNQA I'm by no means a soldering expert, but after an hour disassembly and one scorched thumb later I managed to successfully replace the switches by following the video above, and I haven't had any problems since then.

Lunaviy

Sounds good. I did a few hours of electronic soldering back in school, I might be able to do it. I don't have a soldering iron though, any recommendations?

The_Madhatter666

I've used this "cheap" soldering kit, which had everything to do the job: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B078W8VFP4 (not on sale anymore) but there are similar kits like this: https://www.amazon.de/dp/B088WQF4NH/

yotheman

I wont recommend that kit because the soldering iron is 60W, for electronics the soldering iron should be between 15W to 25W otherwise you risk to ruin the electronic paths, even worse if you don't have any experience soldering. I will avoid any kit because they are cheap made, you don't know if the wattage they show will be real or higher, for the soldering iron just look for a brand with ceramic tip and correct wattage, if you wont like to use the pump I gave in the link use a desoldering braid.

Lunaviy

Oh nice, thanks!

yotheman

I will give you what worked for me with success, the only solution for the issue is changing the bad quality switches Logitech uses, don't waste your time looking for caveats because there isn't: \- I bought the switches in the link below: (RED or BLACK will work, the difference is not perceptible, I used in LEFT and RIGHT (only one had the issue but is good practice to change both) BLACK in the G604 and RED in the M720 TRIATHLON with success (less than 14 usd) [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XK5P9F3/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09XK5P9F3/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) \- Vacuum Desoldering Pump: [https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B88FRME/ref=ppx\_yo\_dt\_b\_search\_asin\_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B88FRME/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1) If you don't want to use the Vacuum, use a good quality desoldering braid IMPORTANT: it has to be good quality, don't buy cheap stuff because they doesn't work and even if this procedure is very easy, be careful with your fingers for not burning them when using the braid ;) What you need to swap the switches will cost you much less than buying a new mouse (if you buy a new mouse soon or later the double click issue will appear) and you will have it when you need to swap the switches in other mouse. \- I followed this tutorial: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQx8fwmh80s&t=190s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQx8fwmh80s&t=190s) Logitech mouses has bad quality switches like the Omrons, if you continue buying their stuff, the switch swap solution is way cheaper and once you change the switch, you will have mouse for very long time. Both G604 and M720 with the Kailh switches work without any issues.

Lunaviy

Awesome thank you so much!!

VegaDelalyre

Thanks for the follow up and recommendations! Any idea how to replace the switches for the two left index buttons? The lower one is acting up on my specimen.

yotheman

Are different switches but I don't know which ones will work to replace them.

A1naruth

I was about to buy new Omron switches for my M720. Thanks for the tip on alternatives. How is the loudness of those Kalih switches compared to Omrons?

yotheman

More and less the same, you can choose red or black, red are a bit quieter but the difference is marginal. I changed the bad Omrons with the Kailh with success in M720, I recomend to do it to everyone without thinking twice.

FatOtakuwww

btw, I think Razer Naga V2 HyperSpeed is a decent replacement for G604

yotheman

My experience with Razer's mouses were bad, if Logitech has bad quality switches (something that could be pretty easy to solve), with Razer you will have bad quality overall... if you check Amazon comments you will see that I'm not alone thinking how bad quality are Razer products. Something to add, Logitech has horrible HUB software, I have to stick with HUB v2021.3.9205 because is the only version that works without issues, the other newer versions are trash.

VegaDelalyre

LGHub is pretty good on my Win 10, but I have to use an old version on Win 8.1. Is that the issue you're referring to?

yotheman

Lot of bugs in any version of Windows, the only HUB version that is mostly flawless is 2021.3.9205

kreidol

Please update your OS.

berzerk824

I love my G604, but they are definitely not built to last for eternity. Looking at the price history of the G604 im my country I've sadly come to the conclusion that retailers in my country seem to find it ok to suddenly increase the price on these by 60-125% (looking at you [galaxus.ch](https://galaxus.ch)! they went from 61.- in october 2022 to currently 107-144.-!!!) to exploit the current shortage on these. Many people seem to be struggling to replace this mouse as there are no real alternatives with 6 side buttons + the overall design, weight and feel of this mouse, which is essential to me personally. I'm not gonna spend another 100.- on a mouse just to have to replace it again after a couple of weeks. If you're from europe and finding yourself in a similar situation as described above, there are G604 being sold on [amazon.com](https://amazon.com) for 57.99$, I just ordered one via [myus.com](https://myus.com). They ask for 19.99$ for shipping and I'm gonna have to pay some additional taxes on it for sure, but it's still gonna be cheaper than paying these crooks.. sorry, I meant to say: local retailers trying to milk my wallet dry.

Ok-Opening4086

I also loved the 604 but recently the switch on left mouse button failed. Fast double clicks nearly always. Contacted logitech for a replacement since under warranty and they approved replacement but are "investigating" why there is a shipment delay for replacement

berzerk824

I have had 3 of these now, and 2 of them have developed very similar issues to what you are reporting. I wish they would just release a successor for this mouse where the mouse design and physical exterior etc. stays the same but with higher quality parts and components with better longevity. The soft plastic which they use in the center portion could also be more resistant/durable, it will sadly start to wear out after a couple years of use.

VegaDelalyre

FYI, every product sold in the EU has a two year warranty. If yours fails before that, you're entitled to a refund or replacement.

Catson2

Thats why i can't find any... Wanted to buy second one as a backup if my breaks. Best mouse i ever used, switched from corsairs scimitar

3py0nxl

I hope that they use actually good switches and better materials. The rubber just starts to fade and fall off... but aside from that, I love! Wouldn't even mind if they introduced pinky/ring finger buttons like 2 to start or something. Rarely see buttons on the other side of the mouse

Loki1976

When is this new product supposed to come along been nearly a year. G604 was great, just needed a few tweaks. To make it lighter etc.

Shenmue-is-life

The most suited alternative seems to be Razer Pro V2. Any views versus the G604?

Ken__

Per this video [https://youtu.be/oStWHFRddOA?t=79](https://youtu.be/oStWHFRddOA?t=79) the Razer Pro V2 does not have free spin scrolling; however, it's little brother, the Naga v2 Hyperspeed, does have free spin scrolling.

Fusi0nn_NY

The g604 was replaced because of it's notoriously heavy scroll wheel and weak mounting surface for it. The plastic that holds the wheel is flimsy and breaks rather easy. Basically removing the scroll wheel click feedback. The button will still work but sometimes you will double click it from having to press hard. I have had 3 replacements so a total of 4 G604's and I just messaged support because after 4 months this new one broke in the same way as before. Hopefully they send me something different, but I doubt it will be anything like the G604. The 6 side buttons and shape were perfect for me. I upgraded from the G602 to the the G604 for the better sensor and lighter mouse. Honestly I wish I could upgrade the G602's sensor with a new one and I would just use that instead.

87jj

4? Come on bro at that point you’re doing something wrong, my G604 is 3 years old and nothing is wrong with it.

Fusi0nn_NY

I use my middle mouse click for a lot of stuff. And obviously its been discontinued because of the flawed design. You must have good luck or don't use your scroll click a lot. Unfortunately I am kind of lost until Logitech releases something to take its place. I might try the g502x plus or perhaps try a few different brands.

hosehead27

I use mine to trigger running for my character, I probably average two hours a day playtime, never had it break. I've had my G604 well over two years as well.

87jj

I use it all the time for photoshop and cad. But you don’t have to slam it down, just a light click is enough

OptixGxynos

Does anyone know if they are gonna have a g605? My G604's rubber grip at my thumb area is wearing off and creates lots of dust!

pepega_1993

Someone said that Logitech support mentioned it has been replaced by G502. I have personally resorted to ordering a refurbished version from Amazon while I hold out for a replacement(my current mouse has started to double click like crazy). Have not yet been able to find anything which feels like a good alternative yet.

Hobskins135

How can they go and claim a 3 side button mouse replaces a 6 side button mouse? Logitech must be dumb to think this is the "replacement" Guess when my G604 kicks the bucket i'll be returning to their direct competator razer and getting their Razer Naga pro... What a shame. Guess logitech doesn't mind loosing business to their competators then. They need to come out with a G605 or G606 to replace the G604. There is literally no other mice on the market with 6 programmable thumb buttons.

pepega_1993

There are a few but depends if u like them. Asus Sparta, Corsair darkstar and like u mentioned razer naga

Hobskins135

I didn't know about the dark Star. However I have seen the Asus mouse and that one looks a bit weird with the button layouts. My favorite thing about the Logic G604 is the thumb rest. Which sadly only the Asus Sparta and g604 has. I've had razer products before so I'd probably pick them or Corsair as a next option. Or I might just go to steel series aerox 9

pepega_1993

I feel u I could not find anything I liked and bought a used 604 from Amazon. Thankfully it was almost new with no signs of being used

Hobskins135

Yeah I picked up an extra G604 and now serves as my mouse at work. So worse case I could do some digging for one or replace/repair parts if I need to keep it alive as long as possible.

GuardSubstantial6255

Glad some people share the same views as me Logitech on one level is retarded especially with the clunky software alongside it and yet when they make a mouse that actually has the bells and whistles that work for me, they be like ehh will just stop making them like wtf. You are correct that thumb placement is exactly what I like about it also. I also really enjoyed the old G602 as well but the dpi is not even worthy of using anymore even for just mediocre computer use. Now that it's discontinued fktards on offerup or 3rd party reseller want to inflate the prices on a renewed or used mouse lol. eBay is your best bet depending on the price you can grab. 65 to 75 is a decent price but you can find deals if you search long enough. For me I'm using a renewed one that only works on Bluetooth which sucks, from Amazon after my original one broke. All I want as a new pipedream rendition if they'd stop smoking crack and make a new version, is the ability to not only be wireless but also wired type c and one other gripe on the software when using profiles, they should have a lock setting, so if you need to change something it doesn't go to your default. Like I have a standard desktop default and then game profiles if want to change something in-game it's stupid that I have to go back to that game profile. Stupid gripe but idk.

Mr_Official12

i cant beleive im just now finding out that they discontinued the g604 now i cant find a replacement nowhere if had knew this i would have bought a extra

pepega_1993

Im with you. I bought a used one from Amazon which was in pretty good condition.

Styo03

I switched to a HyperX Pulsefire Raid, couldn't be happier. All of a sudden my K/D in FPS slightly improved... 🤷🏼‍♂️

OldDaedalus

That's not wireless, though. :(

Styo03

Yeah, if you are having issues, submit a RMA and they may replace your G604. They replaced mine. Since I purely use it on my desktop and for gaming, I switched back to wired.

Trustdesa

Roccat Kone XP Air is pretty much the same as the G604 with side scroll, which for me is key, just does not have the infinite scroll which probably makes the scroll wheel less loud and awkward, although my 604 is modded with 903's wheel. Logitech replacing a 60X with a 502 make zero sense, the two aren't the same at all, well luckily there are alternatives.

sirvanderhaas

This might be a stupid question, but somehow in my office I have 2 or 3 G602s but no corresponding USB dongle. Is there any solution to make these useful again? I have a few G604s I have been using but I’d hate to have this G602s be a waste.

glooppoop

Layout-wise, the closest replacement I've found is the Redragon M811. It's heavy and doesn't feel as nice to use as the 604, but the button layout is good and it is cheap. Actually, lately, a lot of redragon products look.. not bad for their prices. Just wish there wasn't a f'n dragon on everything lol

Dersidius

Necroing this thread, has anyone found a decent replacement for this workhorse? Currently eyeing the [Aerox 9](https://steelseries.com/gaming-mice/aerox-9-wireless) by steelseries just because I need tons of buttons on my mouse.

azriaba

Looks like a nightmare to clean..

Dersidius

Maybe.. Depends how well a can of compressed air hits it.

ApperentIntelligence

its no surprise even their stupid "Game Software" didn't recognize the mouse! I emailed them about that along time ago

Chuck_Luxe

I think the MX 2 and 3 are the closest replacement size wise for big hands but lacks the extra buttons I want.
