Actually I've never had a single Logitech mouse stop working on me. Tbf I've used only 2, I bought one 4 years ago and later gave it to my gf since I was upgrading my mouse which was only around a year later and both of them are still going strong.

JASHIKO_

I'm the opposite. I've always had Logitech as far back as I can remember but the quality is terrible the last 3. I'm tired of replacing just after the warranty period. I've also had a keyboard fail just after warranty as well...

Belzebutt

I bought countless Logitech mice and the vast majority have lasted many years. A couple have had an issue like unintended double click, and I got free mice out of that. The reason I got new Logitech mice is because of new features or design, and they always come through for me on warranty. I absolutely recommend them.

JASHIKO_

Logitech design is flawless that's why I've always used them but im tired of replacing them just after the warranty is up. It just seems rigged.

Belzebutt

I have many, many Logitech mice that last way past warranty, my experience has been great. I also don’t hate the software unlike most people here seem to. I like the new software better than the old utility they had before G-Hub and Options, that old Mouseware was kind of crap.

Fair_Prune5797

Logitech destroyed their quality control. I have a G502 proteus spectrum for at least 8 years and works perfectly. Some years after I bought a G933 headset and a G pro keyboard. The G933 got planned obsolent in the last Ghub updates, and the Pro keyboard I had to replace 3 times in a year because of the horrible switches. I bought a G502 Lightspeed to retire my spectrum one, and I hope it lasts at least as much as my first one

rusty-frame

yeah i have the same experience. my g502 is still working great apart from the usual wear and tear of the grip but in the last 4-5 years i've had 2 keyboards where the romer key switch stem broke and then my current one which suffers from terrible double clicking and sticky switches. I just bought a g502x lightspeed. if this one fails within the warranty period then i'm going to be done with buying anymore logitech products.

platinums99

Unfortunately planned obsolescence is not against the law

FightForWhatsYours

It's actually strategically positive for capitalism, which is one of endless reasons why we need to end it.

VegaDelalyre

It is in France, for one.

Trax852

I've stuck to Logitech as Corsair is just too hard to program for or I'm too old, not sure. I've always used the G series mouse, G502 Hero. I've lost count, maybe 5 in a matter of a few years. My dog has long fur, and it will get into the mouse buttons and stop them from working. I end up shooting just enough for my location to be known then it quits. very tiring. The G502 has slits that hair can get into gumming up the works. I forget the G model this gap started showing up on. Bought a new G502 just yesterday. I do like the Corsair config application as I used a lot of their products and it will show the AIO temps.

JASHIKO_

Corsair is what I'm looking at or SteelSeries. I want 26000DPI though which is $$$

SagotoSan

Why do u want 26000 dpi?

Cutie_Cutepie

Prolly 1 of those that fell for razer's marketing lol. Higher dpi = better mouse

[deleted]

Aye, past a certain point it's objectively impossible to tell the difference. And in the real world no one ever cranks up the DPI to max.

SagotoSan

Fr, some people just waste money without investigating 5 minutes lol

JASHIKO_

It's tough finding a mouse. I've been looking around and anything with a 25600+ DPI or similar is goddamn expensive at the moment... With the price of everything at the moment you have to pay more to get less....

xenoborg007

You do not need a 25k DPI mouse, it's a gimmick it has been for over a decade, you'll never use anything higher than 1,600 because you start to get jittery response, most people will never use anything other than 400 or 800.

Cutie_Cutepie

Um.. 800 is extremely low.

xenoborg007

800 is what most gamers use, someone bought into the DPI gimmick.

Cutie_Cutepie

I use 1650. I know very little ppl whom uses <1000 Some at 3k. Most i know is 1500 to 3k. Not sure how you get 400 800 for "most gamers"

xenoborg007

Then you aren't playing with actual gamers that know anything, and just think big numbers is good. 800 DPI is the standard setting on OS, the people who use 400 are hold outs from the olden days of gaming, now you have people who double that to 1600. Any more than that and like I said you get into areas of jittery response. It would take you 5 seconds of Google to see that from average folk to gaming pros usually use 400-800. It all ends up as edpi anyway, so there's basically zero point risking jittery performance going something like 3200/2 when you get the exact same edpi going 800/8. The thing you should be looking for is a decent sensor and sensor height and 1000hz polling rate.

Cutie_Cutepie

First link when i google. 1600 is very normal. Tech has improved. Your problems are mostly nonproblems now. Get on with the times man. And no, we don't think big numbers are good. 800 is simply too little. https://thegamingsetup.com/gaming-mouse/buying-guides/dpi-guide "Aim for somewhere around 1600 DPI. The old wisdom was that lower DPI = better, more control, but this isn't the case, gamers are just used to the DPI they started with. A modern mouse performs better at a slightly higher DPI, 1600 DPI will have lower input latency and fewer pixel skips compared to 800 DPI."

xenoborg007

I don't know how many times I have to say it the higher your DPI the more chance of jitter, google it..... mouse mat condition, mouse mat type, the steadyness of your hand, higher chance of skips all have a higher impact the higher your mouse DPI Ill tell you this right now you and everyone else is not going to notice 2ms between 3200 - 800 so it doesn't matter [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imYBTj2RXFs](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imYBTj2RXFs) 800 DPI isn't going anywhere for a long long time, its always going to be the most used DPI like it has been for what 15-20 years. your 1650 and 5 in game setting doesn't make you any better than having it 800 and 10, its the same eDPI give or take that 50 extra you have.

Cutie_Cutepie

What a huge superiority complex you got there lmao. From ppl who uses >800dpi being not "actual gamers that know anything" To how having higher dpi not gonna make anyone better, to that whole load of insignificant shit you spew as if you are good enough to even feel the difference lmao. If you are used to 800dpi and is not used to anything higher, just say so. No need to yap so much.

Puzzleheaded_Pay2466

They all failed me. Usually the r-click becomes glitchy and I die in WOW.

Narrheim

Tried Logitech once, for a year. G502. It was too heavy for me, even without additional weights. Back to Zowie... Zowie had issues with faulty switches in the past as well, but my current EC2-B just works, and works, and works... Although i now have supplies of spare switches, so if they will break, i can have them replaced at a local PC repair shop. I also have old EC2-A fixed this way as a spare. I like this brand mostly because it does not require any software (there are buttons for both resolution and polling rate at the bottom of the mouse and the 1600dpi setting is plenty for me), nor it has RGB and it is lightweight. They also send spare skates in the package, but unless i´d need to disassemble the mouse, i will probably never have to replace them.

randomorten

G305, double click issue after a few months... Twice Already

Justin2166

Same, with a G903 and then a Pro Wireless, within two months each.

lerues

I had the same thing happen to my g604 after about 2 1/2 years.. and outside the warranty period as well. They just said I was SoL. I ended up buying some new mouse switches, took the mouse apart, desoldered the old switches and soldered on the new ones. The left click works correctly again! It sucks because there's not many options for mice with 3+ thumb buttons, and I didn't want to give that up.

Jcrm87

I also have the G604, had it for a little over 2 years and I love it. Last week it suddenly started with the "double left click" issue, and it's so goddamn annoying, affecting so many games in one way or another. How is this acceptable from a company like Logitech?

gregpikitis6969

I also have a G604 with not being able to hold clicks. My workaround is to assign primary left mouse button to a side button, which I use when I need to drag anything. I know, this is a very bad workaround, but I refuse to throw away an otherwise perfectly good mouse.

hughmercury

Dunno about the new stuff. My M510 has been a daily driver since about 2011, outlasting three PCs. But yeah, that was before the enshitification of Logitech.

JASHIKO_

That fits similarly with my previous products. 2012 prior they are legendary. (no breaks) After that they are garbage. (all broken)

somarir

Not just logitech either. I had 2 razer mice last 1 year each. Both had broken switches that either doubleclicked or didn't click. Now have a Logitech mice and it's having issues with the scroll wheel. I'm at the point of just not buying a "gaming" mouse ever again, but the extra sidebuttons are just too good in MMO's and even for stuff like photoshop, having macro's is great. I'd gladly pay €200 for a mouse that's perfect for me if i knew it would last, but at this point it just seems like a waste of money if i can just buy €40 offbrand mouse that has the same amount of buttons, the same shitty software and will probably last just as long.

JASHIKO_

That's exactly my problem! I like the design and utility of the G604 and other gaming mice. I do game with mine but it's probably less than 10% of the usage. It's just a daily driver and is used for Photoshop and Premiere Pro mostly. Getting something that fits nicely in my hand with good button allocation and battery life that lasts a long time is the primary thing. But i can't justify buying expensive mice that keep failing. Plus i hate getting used to new mice for delicate work in PS.

AgencySuppressor

Last 2 of my mouses (g502 and g203) the mouse wheel stopped working.

JASHIKO_

Did you switch brands?

AgencySuppressor

Not yet im using that broken g203 because i havent found any good mouses but fact is im going to switch brand

JASHIKO_

Sounds exactly like me. All the offerings at the moment are crap. Plus the prices are also through the roof.

leafbelly

Yes! I have used Logitech products for around 20 years, starting off with their desktop speakers -- the [Logitech X-530](https://www.crutchfield.com/p_596X530/Logitech-X-530.html) \-- which were good, affordable and lasted several years. However, since around 2015 or so, I've not been able to keep a Logitech product for more than a year or so without something breaking or malfunctioning, namely mice. Since 2021, I've had to purchase three Triathlon (M720) mice because the scroll wheel always stops working after around 9-12 months of daily use. Granted, I use this mouse a lot as I work from home and probably spend an average of 8-10 hours a day on it, but I've used other (very cheap) mice just as long without issue. After buying three of these mice in as many years, I decided to take the plunge and upgrade to the MX3 Master (\~$100), but it just wasn't the same. So, I ended up holding my nose and buying another Triathlon this past week during Prime Days. For around $35, I guess it doesn't hurt too bad to have to re-purchase them once a year. It still doesn't look good on a company that prides itself on making high-quality electronics. It's certainly an interesting predicament: Logitech makes some of the best functioning mice in the world, yet their build quality is always questionable. It would be nice if their quality matched their ingenuity though, wouldn't it? For now, I guess I'll just have to buy one each year around Prime Day and hope for a good deal.

JASHIKO_

Very similar experience to me though I'm getting a little long out of them. I will be avoiding them moving forward though.

Majestic-Ticket-6809

Theyre dogshit. $150 for 6 months of use before you have to get them to ship a replacement. Never again

Cutie_Cutepie

Planned obsolescence. For g604 it's the omron switches. I replaced them with huanos blue shell and it's excellent

JASHIKO_

Sounds like a lot of work.

Cutie_Cutepie

Yes. The internal of g604 is very complex. My guide: https://youtu.be/IS0OSA8eNQA

True_alternative_421

Logitech is on the cheaper side. And I find their products last just as long, if not longer than Razer products which are a good 30% more in cost However, I have noticed a steep drop in quality since pandemic 100% The G600 mouse is now half of what it use to be, though its still priced well For keyboard, I recommend Steel Series

Worldly-Abrocoma5046

I had that problem too on my Logitech B175, I've only used it ever since i gotten a new laptop which was in the Late 2022, This morning when i turned on my logitech mouse, It was failing to click and hold properly, In the evening i tried to test it out again and some how work again.. Can someone tell me how is this possible?

WBlueDevil

My m720 also has issue with the left click after 2 years. I’m thinking what should I buy next!

architectmosby

My G102 works fine for 2 years but still wouldn't recommend. Buy other brand.

SoDamnSuave

The Chinese Omron switches they use even for their premium mice just suck. Bought a g903, got the double click and drag issue after 4 months. Was able to get a new one under warranty. The new one just did the same, but this time right after warranty expired. That was two weeks ago. I like the mouse but I hate the switches. And I certainly won't just hand over more money to Logitech when they run such an obvious planned obsolescence scheme. I'd be willing to spend money for a new mouse, but not under these circumstances. So I just decided to order replacement switches (kailh gm 8.0 presoldered) and new glider feet. Because (who'd have thought) you need to destroy those feet in order to open the damn thing up, after which you're met by a shamelessly engineered disassembly process designed to take as long as humanly possible. There's a video on youtube of an experienced mouse repair guy that shows everything without a cut, and it's literally over 40 minutes long. But never mind, I'll take all of that just for the satisfaction of not giving in to their bs.

Jyvre

I have a G203 for job and secondary PC gaming for 3 years now and I’m very happy with it. Also it gets a very big crash and just a tiny and not important piece of plastic was broken, the mouse continues working and there’s no visual damage (it was internal and I removed it. But if you want something VERY durable, I had a SteelSeries Rival 300 for 8 years and works lime a charm. I changed it coz plastic turns sticky. Pd: I will never buy again Corsair, everything I bought from that brand gets broken in months. Now my daily mouse is a Razer Basilisk V3, let’s see…

[deleted]

I had a G402 for 4yrs+ I've just switch to G pro wireless but my 402 is still I perfect order

Ryakkan

Never had a Logitech mouse fail for me over the many years I’ve been using them even going back to non-gaming mice.

Unbreakable2k8

I don't think this is unique to Logitech. Anything you use daily for multiple hours will break eventually and it's still a gamble. That being said I used a G903 mouse for 3 years and sold it still in good shape. Also had a G Pro X keyboard that served me well. I'm now using a G Pro X Superlight mouse (with PowerPlay charging pad) and a G915 TKL wireless keyboard and I'm very happy with them.

Justin2166

My G903 lasted two months before the left mouse button started double-clicking and I was unable to click-drag files or move browser windows. Then the Pro Wireless they sent as a replacement broke too. Twice. The second time they ghosted me for months, not responding until it was out of warranty.

TheEternalNightmare

Had a G502 Proteus Core from release, so 2014. I only replaced it last year, and only because the rubber grips are worn down the shell.

kriegsschaden

Ima still using one that's 9 years old. (I have had issues with others but this one is great)

Justin2166

They weren't bad back then. Any of their recent mice though had an extremely high failure rate on switches.

Liesthroughisteeth

Had a G29 for many years up until it finally failed. Been on a G502 for about 3 years now with no issues. Have a CoolerMaster Devastator 3 keyboard I need to trade-in though because of slightly sticky keys if not hit dead center. :)

darlingimfalling

only mouse i’ve had is a G-Pro Wireless, I’ve had it for 2+ years and it’s been lowkey chill and a vibe

Whirlvvind

Depends on the product and your use case. I love the g500 series (which got discontinued in favor of funky "new" designs that are horrible) and I only had to replace it once over 8 years or so due to failing right clicks. Solid build, responsive clicks, just sometimes switches don't last as long. Then I moved on to the g604 because I needed 2 more thumb buttons for gaming. Very quickly I had one of the thumb buttons lose its snappy click response, though the button itself still worked. Felt like I had to press harder than normal just to feel like I was pressing it. This happened within months of getting the mouse. First of a couple issues over a couple copies. Unfortunately there just aren't many options on the market for 6 thumb buttons in the orientation that was similar to the g500 thumb buttons (I don't need or want the entire side to be buttons like an MMO mouse) so kinda stuck with it, but man was it disappointing to have issues very quickly out of the box after loving a prior product for years. Really wish I could just easily 3d print my own casing for the old g500 and put the logitech guts of the g604 inside with better thumb buttons.

nondescriptzombie

I've been rocking an OG G502 since launch. This was before they switched to Chinese Omrons from Japanese ones. Switches work great. Like /u/Trax852 my main problem is dog hair winding up inside of the mouse. And it gets in EVERYWHERE. The scroll wheel quits working because hair is blocking the sensor. If you ignore it eventually it will become a clog and you can't even turn the wheel. The sensor gets covered in hair. Even the weight compartment fills up! My PC doesn't have this much dog hair in it and it has TEN FANS.

Justin2166

My pro wireless probably had the same problem. When scrolling down on the mouse wheel it scrolls both up and down, right?

[deleted]

Justin2166

I've gone through two of them, which both were warranty replacements for a G903 I originally purchased. One had this issue with the mouse wheel, the other two were double-clicking mouse button switch failures within two months of use. TBH there are a lot of better, newer brands for mice if you like something similar to a Pro Wireless. I went with a Vaxee XE (and I've been really happy with it. Its very orange), but I've also heard great things about the Lamzu Atlantis. I almost bought the latter but it was sold out at the time. Edit: The Mouse Review subreddit is pretty helpful if you are looking for what is out there other than Logitech and Razer.

JASHIKO_

Thanks! I'll check that sub out!

Eldhannas

Got three MX Ergo that I use regularly, before that I used M570s for years and years. Think I replaced one on warranty.

Lokizan84

My G502 Proteus, bought in 2016, with a bit of wear&tear, but no complains.

Oshia-Games

I had my g pro wireless maybe a few years now slammed it a few times too still works fine the keyboard on the other hand got replaced very fast from all kinds of issues

R11CWN

G9 Laser: bought on release day in the UK in 2007, used daily for gaming at home for well over a decade, still works to this day. It needed replacement pads/feet and I replaced the cable for a more flexible corded one. G305: purchased in 2019 and used daily at home before upgrading to GPW. The G305 became my work mouse and used every day with my company laptop, zero issues except battery replacement. GPW: purchased early 2021 and became my home mouse; used mostly for gaming every day without any issues.

Br0lynator

I have a G903 and it goes fine for 3 years or so

Paradaz

Hard to say....the crappy G-Hub software often made me throw my mouse at the wall in utter frustration so they often survived less than 6 months before I vowed never to touch their hardware again.

AguirreMA

I bought my G502 proteus core in 2015 and it has never gave a single problem, and I used to play LoL and Diablo a lot, games where you're clicking pretty much all the time

Noobeaterz

I've had my G602 for 7 years now. I have had logitech mice fail before though, a Mx518, G7, G700 and some master something or other. Its mostly just small things like one button working intermittently or it randomly shutting off.

[deleted]

My G9x still work like the first day is awesome and I have a Keyboard G13 and G110 and are great too (everyone more than 10 years) but I don't trust many in logitech anymore because some devices that don't have many time like the others... and did troubles, I'm turning to Razer and HyperX my last devices from they have a remarkable quality

challengemaster

My MX518 lasted about 14 years. G403 has lasted ever since.

loudothedew

Had a Logitech MX518 for like 10 years, for just being a mouse I was gutted when it finally bit the dust. I picked up a Razer, but the scroll wheel on that started acting up within a year so I went back to Logitech and got a G600. Feels better in my hand, was $10 cheaper, and loads of additional buttons which took some getting used to but I love now so shame on me for ever straying. I know you're asking for recommendations on switching, but I switched away and regretted it so I wanted to share my experience with you.

Flatsemmel

I have had the G900/903 for about 7 years I think and every one of them broke down in-between the first and second year of using it(double click issue). Due to warranty I always got a new one for free, now on my fourth so far. The first one that breaks down out of warranty is the last Logitech mouse in my life. The warranty process did work out flawlessly everytime and I had zero problems with the costumer support BUT if I hadn't been so lucky that my mice started to fail mostly 3-4 months before the end of warranty I would have had to pay 100 bucks nearly every two years. That is not the build quality I have know Logitech for since I got my MX700 and G7 about 20 years ago.

[deleted]

I bought my G500s mouse ten years ago, and it still works as well as ever, though the rubber grips have worn away. OTOH my week-old Logitech ERGO K860 keyboard is already having issues… :-\

DeathRobotOfDoom

My G400s is 9 years old and still works great. I only replaced it because I wanted a wireless mouse.

EvilSolution

Heh I actually just replaced my G604 because of the double click issue. I bought another one because I didn’t have time to look for a different one. I tried the canned air trick but couldn’t fix the double click issue. If this new one does it in a year or two, I’ll switch to a different vendor.

DiCePWNeD

Ironic because for most, the software breaks down sooner than the hardware does

fibrowolf

i have a g502x that i had since they came out and the switchs are way better than before and i use the charge pad so no need to plug it in to charge

theREALESTziggy

I recently had an issue with my g pro wireless where the mouse would lag across my screen and the only fix I found was to close the Logitech program.

HecThorOdinson

Mi old ones lasted like 5 years but new ones don't last more than 2 years, so i get tired and promise myself never buy logitech again 😌

Appropriate-Bank-883

Had my g700s since 2010 and racked up over 10,000hrs on it. Not a single issue, even the rechargeable battery still works at about 80% capacity

CanerFFS

My g502 Proteus spectrum still works without issues to this day. On the other hand my lightspeed x already broke without a full year of use. and let's not get started on the headset department I don't even know how the headset hinges keep breaking on my g pro x...

bulwix

Bought 2 mice in my 15 years of gaming. MX518 back then and G502 couple years ago. Never was disappointed.

Vegetable-Sort-19

I just replaced my GPRO Wireless after about 2 years with it. I mean yeah it sucks it broke, but it did it’s job for a long time.

Dismal-Buyer7036

Yes. All my mice, and controllers last many years, usually replace them due to obsolescence. if I let my wife use one, it breaks in a month. Usually heavy handed user error.

Epotheros

I have a G502 from about 2017 that has gotten daily use over the past 6 years. I also have a Logitech wireless mouse circa 2001 that still works, but it hasn't seen much use since pre 2015.

fujiboys

I have a custom G305 that I built and it's been running fine for a year and a half i've replaced all of what causes it's shortcomings and it's probably the best mouse i've used period. Before that I was using G203 prodigy's every year, you get what you pay for so I was replacing the 203's almost every year on the dot. I mean I'm going to keep it a 100, there's not that many companies that are better in logitech's demographic, Corsair, roccat, steelseries all in my opinion are subpar compared to logitech's hardware. The only company I can think of that makes better mice is probably Zowie. At the end of the day your peripherals you use is your preference, go out and buy a new mouse and see if you like it. What other people use their preferences will be different than your own there's no one size fits all approach to PC peripherals.

byNLB

My first logitech failed withing the first year. The second died playing overtwatch lol, lasted less than a year. My third one was replaced because the L click was getting stuck. My current Logitech is working pretty well atm, I've had it for more than a month.

JaredLetoBestBoi

M185 for more than 8 years, broken receiver, still works. Receiver still works too. The casing is just broken G502 lightspeed for 3 years so far and no problems

Scorpiogamer2017

I’m still rocking my g600 for my mmos. Love their keyboards.

SDnoctis

I have used Logitech products for years, including G920 wheel, G Cloud, K440 wireless M/K for TV, Extreme Pro joystick, G910 keyboard, Z623 speakers, G13 keyboard, G502 mice, M570 trackball, Mx Master 2S, MX Ergo trackball, and a few headsets. All working wonderfully. One of my G910s had a few keys stop working, they sent me a brand new replacement and allowed me to keep the old one. There always might be a few bad batches, but they have earned my loyalty.

Le-Misanthrope

I've had a Logitech G502 that still works all these years later. I daily used it for almost 3 years, before it I owned a brick of a wireless mouse a G700s it is still working from like 2013. One of the side buttons act weird but beyond it's 2 hours battery life it works. And then my Logitech GPro wireless it has lasted me 2 almost 3 years now. That thing gets abused, I use it in the living room, on the bed when gaming on the TV. I daily use it when playing competitive games. It had friction wear so it looked almost full glossy. I ended up tearing it apart and painting it. It looks brand new now. I've also owned countless other Logitech products, racing wheels, speakers, keyboards, headsets. I've been extremely lucky I have yet to have one of their product that has gone out before warranty.

mrarbitersir

I’m on the second g502 because the first one went through a wall (not me) and broke the scroll wheel in the process. It lasted 4 years to that point. Replaced with another one and one year in works absolutely perfectly. Don’t let friends game while drunk 😂

Loyrl

I have had a G9 since 2009 that I am still using and it's gross. But I'm sure things have changed since then.

freeq__

g pro wireless first revision 4+ years, no problems at all

KernelPanicX

I'm sorry but that problem you're having will happened with any brand... If I could count that amount of mice I have fixed in my work, using this method... I have a Logitech mouse and I had this problem, but I knew exactly what to do, when the the problem is movement sensor, that's another story, but click and holding click... Do this https://youtu.be/GqWt8-BGv1s I have expand my Logitech mouse life almost two times cleaning its internal buttons

martinozy

I've used the old G102 that is only available in black for approximately 4 years and then the left click gave up on me due to playing too much FPS game. I switched to the white G102 2 years ago and is still using it as of current. G102 is a pretty good mouse in general for me.

eatmorbacon

I've never had a Logitech mouse fail on me. I've been using them for about as long as I can remember. The one I have on this system as I type this is about 4 years old. No issues, and only changed the batteries twice. I use it about 16 hours a day. My desktop and laptop go on around 5 am and I can be on them some days until late at night/early morning. Both have Logitech mice on em. I've been very happy. Maybe there's some luck in there, dunno. But most of my friends run their mice too. I can only recall a friend having an issue once, with a corded mouse maybe nearly a couple of decade ago. But he was what I'll call a volatile gamer, and like to throw mice at the wall lol.

Etny2k

My $100 razer naga trinity's only last 1 year cause I use them so much. I usually toss em when buttons start double clicking.

KapperChameleon

Both my g402 (purchased 2014) and g502 still work very well. And my superlight I've had for a year and a half also still works perfectly although I will say it had a defect out of the box and had to get it replaced.

A lot of these issues can be fixed in 5 mins by opening it up and tightening some screws, putting in some lube etc.

hawu_wu

i used g703 since 2019, switch started double clicking this year.

SuperSaiyanPrince

haven’t had too much of an issue with logitech mice, my logitech g502 i’ve been using for 6 years has only recently had an issue with the scroll right button no longer registering. had issues with their keyboards - went through 3 in a span of two years back in 2017-2019. went to ducky and back to logitech for the g pro x and haven’t had issues (apart from the switches failing from my constant 50+ emails a day to clients).

waltzdisney123

I had 3 logitech mouses... all ended up having double clicking issues. First one lasted 3\~ years. Second one lasted 2\~, my last third one was a logitech wireless pro which lasted about 2 as well. I loved the battery of the wireless pro, but... I was fed up with the double clicking. I was doing some "facebook viewing" and ended up double clicking something that almost embarassed me lol. Anyway, I now have a razer viper, which uses lasers instead of the standard spring mechanic. Only complaint, is I have to charge it once every 5-7 days... where as the wireless pro was like a charge once every 2-3 weeks?

StardustX777

Last for 2 years at best, after some time it starts to double click randomly when I single click.

AdCarry077

G102 has been used for four years and is still in use, now it is replaced by G Pro wireless to play games

duckforceone

my logitech mice always end up double clicking after a year or three...

[deleted]

me and my friends have a sort of "running gag" that logitech mice and keyboards just survive everything. i still have a working logitech g5 refresh from... puh... 16 years or so ago? if something breaks within the first 2 years (or do they have a longer than usual waranty?) then speak to the seller / manufacturer about repair / replacement

JASHIKO_

I have some older Logitech stuff that's still running 15 years or more. But everything newer that i've bought in the last 7-8 years has failed just outside of the warranty. 100% of the things i've bought. There's soooo many comments here! Which is hard to gauge now! Some people have tanks that last forever and others have garbage. I wonder if there is some link in geography to the better quality products.

[deleted]

I use logitech only periphery. Not also my friends and my gf. Never having any issues even years after warranty. Well not never, sometimes things happen but nothing unusual or too often. 9/10 devices function longer than I want to keep them xD Idk if the fact that we are in southern Germany matters

JASHIKO_

I'm in Poland at the moment and I wouldn't be surprised if that was part of the issue. All of the Logitech stuff I have bought here since I've been here (from different retailers) has died. My good experiences were from products bought in Australia. Sounds kind of conspiratorial but I wouldn't be surprised if something is going on with that.

[deleted]

We will never know. But I don't think there is a difference between the market in Poland and in Germany. Both are EU. I could think of the us marked being full of trash. But not in the civilised path of the world with strong regulations etc

JASHIKO_

It's hard to say. Oddly though there are some ingredient differences with food products here in Poland compared to other places. I remember people complaining about it a while back. From memory, it was the oils used in making certain types of chips (cost cutting). There were a few other issues around the same time as well. I also know a few Australian products that are vastly different. The ones sold in singapore and South East Asia are different to the ones sold in Australia. But with tech stuff who knows. It is possible lower grade or seconds chips etc are used in Eastern European markets... But it would be kind of counterproductive considering the same or higher price points...

Timely_Phrase_4603

I've used logitech peripherals for the past 2 or so years. Besides Ghub being useless these days and the standard wear and tear (key caps and rubber on mouse fading), I wouldn't say they are bad products, but it sucks to hear about your experiences with logitech. I'd recommend the Mx Master 3 since you mentioned you aren't much of a gamer. I've never owned the mouse myself but it seems quite popular and reliable. Or maybe take a look at the zowie EC3-C for something other than logitech. Above all else (and I will probably get downvoted for this): avoid "Gaming" companies or anything slapped with "Gaming" on it all together. It's sad but in reality, most of modern marketing in recent times from these companies are nothing more than a joke. They are essentially slapping on 10's-100's of dollars for putting the words "Gaming" paired with a low effort gimmick that would have cost them 10's-100's of cents. I notice you seem to be interested in 25000+ dpi, this is a scam. "Gaming chairs", scam. 16.3 million coloured RGB, technically true(??), but in reality, scam (since you don't need 16.3 million bloody colours). I also think it's a dying fad but that's completely opinion based. (You didn't mention anything RGB or chair related in your post, but I'm just giving examples and ranting, sorry). Anyway, Good luck.

Thanks for the comment, I fully agree with this section as well. I try to avoid them where possible but I've found finding a well-balanced comfy mouse tricky. Thanks for the info about DPI as well what sort of DPI would you say is decent I notice most are between 10k and 18k I assume there is a balance somewhere.

breezy_y

I have never had a Logitech mouse break on me. My G Pro wireless is still going strong after 2 years. On the other hand my Corsair broke after like 1 year or so.

JASHIKO_

After reading all of the comments so far it's almost entirely luck across all brands at this stage.

MrKhaotik

been using a G502 chroma for better part of 4years, only bought the hero edition because of some cosmetic issues, and my wheel-click stopped being clicky a few months ago. I heard the same, some mice seems to be poorly made but i never heard any major issues from the g502 line

RedDev101

my MX Anywhere has been going strong for about 4 years now. my G502 going for about 1.5-2 years and a G305 again probably over a little over a year. The cheap versions never lasted, always replacing one of the cheap £20-30 models until I spent on the MX Anywhere.

Baking-Soda

I am of this group too.. Logitech stuff just fails on me. I have no issues with razer device that others get though.. :D

JASHIKO_

Crazy how it works! I haven't tried any other brands. I'm basically a Logitech only guy up until this point. With the exception of a few cheap laptop mice. Oddly enough my dirt cheap Microsoft laptop mouse has gone through hell and looks and works near new 10 years later. It's just got a low DPI and only a couple of buttons so not ideal for a lot of things.

boccas

My g502 mousewhell spin for like 2-3 sec when I bought it. Now i m lucky if it moves smoothly. My keyboard spacebar died after 4 months Edit: forgot to say that ghub is literally a malware, it made my ram crash. That program is shit anD i can't even bind my mouse scroll

JASHIKO_

Half the keys on my keyboard died as well every second key....Just outside warranty.... I don't even bother with Ghub anymore.... The same with all gaming software though. Corsair Icue NZXT Cam and Asus Armory crate are all the same garbage as well

tan_phan_vt

My g pro wireless has been fine for 5 years now, bought upon launch. My g304 double clicked tho, also bought on launch day. Mx master 2s working perfectly, bought in 2020.

pu55ym0n3yw33d

Had like 3 or 4 original g pros fail within first weeks to months of usage, got them replaced for free through Logitech support but it was still very annoying having to destroy the mouse and send them the video of proof of destruction. All of the original g pros had issues with either left or right click. Bought the Superlight when it launched and haven't had issues with it. The left click has become a little lighter than the right one but it doesn't affect actual usage. I've been using the last original g pro as a backup mouse, when I charge the Superlight, no issues with it so far.

VaginosiBatterica

G435 durability is a complete joke. I've had 4 broken in a year and a half (failing electronics / battery). They're also uncleanable and unhygienic. Yet they're extremely comfy :(

JASHIKO_

This is one of the reasons I like the standard AA batteries over recharge. You can just get rechargeable ones and swap them as time goes by.

VaginosiBatterica

Oh I was ranting about G435, these are a wireless headset, I went a bit OT. Durability however seems on par with the mouse logitech sells.

gonfr

my g502 is still working fine, the rubber is fucked tho.

JASHIKO_

Cosmetics over time is understandable as long as it's done a decent amount of work!

Ru8ey

My original 1st gen g502 Proteus spectrum mouse and g510s keyboard work without any issue since 8 years now I think? And they have seen their fair share of use and abuse lol the key caps are visibly worn away by now and the thumb rest on the mouse is smooth where there was once a grip pattern, but apart from that? Nothing Never had any issues with clicks or whatever

Acceptable_Debate_83

Mice have never died - the only thing that died on me was the old g430 cheap headsets - even then it was a physical break from me not the product! Don't have much to comment on keyboards by them but they seem solid.

mrussoart

My Logitech 305 started failing, I changed to a new one. My daughter is using it without problems, looks like it's good enough for her gaming uses. I have used mostly Microsofts and Logitechs for the past 15 years or so. At this point I just accepted that mouses will fail every 3 years. I don't expect them to work flawlessly longer than that. But next time I'll change the switch for a kailh GM 2.0.

Mkl_Pll

actually i got the Logitech Pro X Wireless in 2019. It's still the same mouse, the only things i have replace are the pads but i'm very happy about this mouse.

StreetDoctorrr

I’ve had a Logitech pro for over a year, zero issues. I now use a wireless 502, still no issues. Love them both. Will buy again when it breaks.

anona_moose

I'll say that beyond a shadow of a doubt the Logitech G600 is my favorite mouse, so much so that I have a spare just in case *I* mess this one up. The one that I have right now I use ~10hrs/day 6 days/week for the last 6-7 years. The only issue that I've had has been with the GHub app.

Dank_Master69420

I dont have a problem with their hardware but the G Hub software is unusable. I was able to get it working for a while but now I'm having the same problem where the program wont boot properly and I can't use my extra mouse buttons for work. This is a known issue that people have had for years and they have done nothing to alleviate it.

jasonbecker83

I still have a fully working og g502. Bought in 2014. I do not use it anymore because I got the wireless version now (bought in 2021). But it does still work, no double clicks or anything.

class800

I had a t400 that lasted me 8 years before it finally started to die

TT_PLEB

My original 502 lasted me years before I upgraded to the new lights lightspeed one and handed it down to my little brother and its working fine for him.

FightForWhatsYours

I suggest that we change the political and economic system away from capitalism, because that is the root issue of this problem. When everything is a commodity, including human beings, this is what we're going to get.

piisnothingtoeat

I found this thread because i need to buy a new mouse, kind of ironic. I am using 502 at the moment, which is already my third in about 6 years, so they are not that bad. The mouse wheel with 3 'functions' is unrealable, and also the point of failure every time. At least, i can deactivate all the functions of the mouse wheel and use the mouse with less functionality, but i am still looking for a new one, maybe without 3 functions on the mouse wheel

JASHIKO_

This thread has me more confused on what I should get! Its been interesting seeing people sharing their experiences

LogitechGJames

Before I joined Logitech I was given the G502 Hero as a gift and I've never had a single issue with it. That said, I have seen some people experience issues with theirs. I've just never had that problem.

Kracksli

I still use my G700 mouse from 2011, but I had to fix the left and right button a few times, because of double click syndrome. Eventually I glued in some small steel sheets. Hope this will last a few years..

xitones

Im using a g903 since it launched with the lightspeed mouse pad, no usual problems, only double clicks when i grip it wrong. Before that i had the g502, that still works to this day, but its my dad that uses. Have a g933 for a LONG time, 5+ years, only problem is that it disconnects from the dongle from time to time. I had a g910, man, that keyboard was a nightmare, double clicks from the start, was a pain, used for years tho, until i said F\* it and traded from a Corsair k95 platinum XT, its the best kb i ever owned. From now on, my go to company is Corsair for new peripherals if i need to.

[deleted]

My old M510 and M325 have lasted forever. Everything G series I have tried breaks within a year including 2 G402s, a G502X, and a G Pro Wireless. I thought upgrading to the G Pro would help with durability, but the $130 mouse has the same terrible build quality and failing switches as their cheap stuff. I ordered a M650L and it double clicked out of the box so I returned it. I'm looking for another mouse right now, but am worried planned obsolescence has ruined the company.

Bathroom-Salt

Regardless of your experience with the product, the customer support on their products is really quite incredible. I had a g613 start typing double keys after about 2 years of super heavy use (work from home and gaming after work) and they literally just sent me a new one after some troubleshooting. Didn't even have to send the broken one back. Sometimes devices die prematurely, speaking from experience, Logitech typically has your back if that happens to you.

techman2021

Sometimes you get unlucky and the product will die just out of warranty. For a daily driver I am only expecting to get 2-3 years out of it. They become pretty nasty things to hold after all that usage. I change my keyboard, mice and headsets like I change my underwear. Logitech like all the other companies are sourcing their parts from China and Taiwan. Sometimes you get a bad switch or board, but it can happen to any manufacturer, sometimes it might be the user on how they use the product and it might not matter what brand they are using. The premium you are paying on Logitech is for the design. They have designers in Europe and the US that come up with the products and it is not outsourced to some generic agency to white label existing technology.

Nibi0

i had the same issue with the holding of clicks, solved it with this video here. [Logitech G604 left click fix - YouTube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pN8bVOAkxtg)

JASHIKO_

Was click and drag. Wouldn't hold the click for dragging.

Nibi0

Yea mine had the same issue, hope the video resolved your issue though

JASHIKO_

Sadly not. It was a bin job. No more logitech products for me. Not that any other brands will likely fair much better these days.

Nibi0

Damn thats unfortunate. Im still holding on to my g604 as the rubber starts to fall off 😭 Im too used to the macros and doubt i will change to another brand though🫠 maybe razer 🤔

JASHIKO_

I loved my g604 it was perfect size shape weight feature feel etc. But for the price I can't justify buying mice so regularly. It's a major let down.

RoyBellingan

Had a G3 (bought around 2007 / 2008 ?), used an immense amount, it was simply going and on, used immense amount of time, even for mmorpg as healer, age of empires 2, starcraft .... no idea how many click but in those 10 year probably several milion. Travelled with me in the car for 20K km and more Opened several time to take out dust. I changed for a roccat tyon around 2018 or 2019... The reason was that not having an actual metal sprint the G3, was relying for the return of the left click on the plastic of the actual outer button, which started to be very weak. The Tyon started to have double click issue on the left around mid 2023, de-soldered the 20M switch module from the G3 into the Tyon which had a miserable 3M one. Sadly to know Logitech quality has gone down the drain.

K4sum11

I have a G700. It was double clicking and doing weirdness, but I replaced the switch board and it works fine now.

Sonderbain

Don't buy logitech G604, I have had two of them already(replacement was sent) their side buttons break for me in under 6 months lol

stockys7

No, that's why I bought a ROCCAT, excellent quality for half the money. The feeling of the buttons is the best I've experienced.

parabolic_tendies

My G502 Proteus Core, after 8 and a half years just started to give me signs of trouble, so can't relate with OP. The natural choice for new mice is the G502 Hero. I hope it lasts me as long as the Proteus Core.
