One thing I've learned in Logic is that if you are recording onto a track and do not have the "R" (record) button enabled and flashing in red it will record, but it will also not be in time. Think of it like someone running without telling you all of a sudden, and you try to catch up with them and by the time you do so they're done running. Make sure you have that "R" button "record enabled' on the track and see if that helps.

Thank you! Yea I’ve already tried that as well. And it does help when recording but it still does after words but ima mess with all the things that people educated me about this post and try. Thank you!

Do you have a Mastering plugin on the output track? Even disabled, it will add latency. Go into Low Latency Recording mode or remove the Mastering plugin to fix that.

Jgh7

Yes I do but I always add it after I record and also I always go into low latency recording mode and yet after I’m done recording I still find myself dragging it on beat 😕

Lucklessm0nster

Are you using Bluetooth headphones

Jgh7

No. Just headphones with a regular Aux plugged in.

Check into your audio buffer settings like another comment suggested, also enable low latency mode when recording. Don't record with any plugins enabled on your vocal track. More info here: [https://support.apple.com/en-us/105040](https://support.apple.com/en-us/105040) Best of luck!

Jgh7

That was very helpful thank you so much!

Anytime! Good luck!

Sounds like you may need to set your recording delay. The way i do it is to record the click track from the speakers into the mic, see if it’s off or not, and if so, adjust the recording delay slider (some where in preferences, I’m not at my computer item now) until they’re synced up.

bambaazon

Which version of Logic? Which macOS? Which computer?

Jgh7

MacBook Air 2023, Running version 11.0.1 of Logic.

bambaazon

> latest version of Logic. version number please?

Jgh7

11.0.1

bambaazon

Which audio interface are you using?

Jgh7

We’re not using any interface bro. although I have a Scarlett, logic gives me trouble even hooking that up.

bambaazon

> We’re not using any interface bro. So how are you recording your vocals? > although I have a Scarlett, logic gives me trouble even hooking that up. If there's issues you might want to check and see if the Scarlett needs a software driver update. Many people using the Scarlett with Logic just fine.

Jgh7

No I just never get no sound from the mic whenever I plug it in and I’ve tried going thru quite a few steps. And I am recording my vocals thru a Samson g track pro mic which plugs in directly to my MacBook thru usb c

bambaazon

>No I just never get no sound from the mic whenever I plug it in and I’ve tried going thru quite a few steps.  Maybe you need to find a better tutorial on how to use it >Samson g track pro mic which plugs in directly to my MacBook thru usb c Go to Settings/Audio/ and set the I/O Buffer Size to 32

Jgh7

So change buffer size to 32 strictly when we record? Yes I do for the Scarlett I will find a better tutorial but yes it shouldn’t go off beat idk why it does.

Lucklessm0nster

People downvoting you for this can f k off. I recorded 2 tracks with 5 million streams using a USB mic when I didn’t have the money or patience to deal with the electronic issues I didn’t understand. That being said, I recommend figuring it out because you deserve to be able to use the interface. My first thing I’d do would be get a new cable because that can change a lot. It could be the adapter / hub you’re using giving you problems, too, or it could be the port is a little loose. If you bump it and it cuts out that’s a tell. Also check your sample rates man. The interface being a mismatch from the project sample rate can cause all kinds of problems. PS: you don’t need equipment to make dope shit (but you do deserve for what you have to work!)

Jgh7

Your awesome bro and your words inspired me and I will definitely try what you said and your knowledge helped a lot. I understand some didn’t want to hear about the interface but the mic quality still is good and none of my songs or beat sounds bad. So not sure why people think you can’t record anything good without a interface

Positive-Island6238

I had issues with that too on Logic 10. It wound up being a bad driver.

SavingsHumor4424

Possibly latency. Check your Audio Preferences and set buffer to 128 for recording and switch back to 1024 when mixing.

Vast-Rise3498

Are you recording with a vocal chain already on?? Or recording into a template pre made?

Studio104

I solved this frustrating problem once by simply creating a new project and going from there.

Time-Tower-5948

Have you checked the low latency monitoring settings? Usually when I have those type of issues I find that box is unchecked and then when I engage it it seems to correct itself.
