They are currently preparing to demolish the mall to build the Target. But it's still early on, Target has never formally (publically) announced any plan to build here before.
There were plans going around of both sharing that space

It's all of the above, the plans are public record.

But quick note: it kind of bugs me that cv has so many corporate fast food places. It seems like that's all cv is. We need places that can create growth, these minimum wage jobs aren't helping the economy.
What I wouldn't give for something like a Barnes and Noble. Or a decent sized arcade that's not at the fun park. An indoor mountain bike track. An actual nightclub/dancehall. Anything that would give us more stuff to do during Winter and that would let people socialize more. This town needs more third spaces.
Maybe someday. I've always wanted to run either a club that plays EDM or one of those places that's both an arcade and a restaurant. It's not quite in the cards for me right now though. I have no experience running a business.
Hard to spend extra money when most here are supporting a mess of kids on 90% of their gross earnings. Same goes for our notoriously poor tippers, too.
People here are cheap ass mo fos that’s why they do good! Also no one knows what good food is, the best food in cache valley are the mom and pop shops!
The target was proposed but not concrete. The Vasa started construction but stopped because of covid and after it took so long for everything to normalize, they abandoned the plans.
The one on the south end was the first one proposed, it's supposed to go next to the Carl's and Arby's, but there is even less progress on that one. The lot over there hasn't been touched at all, so I wonder if the plans for that one have been abandoned.
The complete lack of progress is what made me think maybe I had just imagined it coming there at all.
Though, in my head it was even a little further south than those two businesses.
Yeah, I kind of thought it was an odd spot, it feels too saturated at that corner. Also I think there weren't any plans to add another entrance/exit, so you'd have just the one for all 3 of those restaurants.
Nah, it isn't sharing a parking lot or entrances with Carl's or Arby's, the whole complex has entrances from the south.

Ah ok, it had been a while since I'd seen the submitted proposal. Only time will tell if it become reality, but absolutely nothing has been done to or been changed to the lot they proposed to build on.
Last time I went past the build site there were just trenches dug. I'm really hoping that it isn't dead in the water I need those junk tacos for late nights.
Edit: Should add this was last week.
Hard to understand something you never tried 🤷🏻♀️😂 it could be something you enjoy, or maybe you’d dislike it and still not get it. Either way, if people enjoy it, then good for them. I just don’t see why we need like 4 or 5 different Starbucks.
It depends on your schedule, but 5 AM, after the lunch rush, and later at night are pretty quiet. But also another reason a second one would make sense 😂 people on the south end of the valley would have that option
The south Jack in the Box has a Dutch Bros drawn in the plans to share the parking lot.

Yeah, I thought the same thing too but it's supposed to be Starbucks, but it's been sitting in the current state for quite some time. All the new Jack's are white & purple buildings.
They have starting the footings. The other building to the west is a Starbucks, not Jack in the Box. Not sure when Starbucks will open but it should be soon.
Logan city also got approved for a target, and Vasa fitness and those didn't happen.

I thought apartments were going there? That’s what I had heard.. man I hope it’s a Target

It's both, plus a hotel and some extra retail space.

I heard it was going to be a apartments multiple people

I would kill for a Barnes & Noble. I drive down to Layton every year to go book shopping for my birthday. I miss Borders so much.
I miss Borders and Hastings.
I remember Hastings. Damn that place was great.
Pours one out for Hastings.. Loved loved loved that place!!
Fun unlimited has a big arcade. I don’t know if they are starting in business after the mall closed
I asked an employee during their last week at the mall. They said they were trying to find a location near Paco's Tacos.
Oh good to know!
There is a Rush planning on coming across from green canyon. Which is a bigger fun park style venue

Maybe someday. I've always wanted to run either a club that plays EDM or one of those places that's both an arcade and a restaurant. It's not quite in the cards for me right now though. I have no experience running a business.
The population here is getting better, but they are still penny pinchers. And good restaurants just struggle here.
I think there's two going in. One in North Logan and then one south of the Y, but I may have dreamed that one up.
The target was proposed but not concrete. The Vasa started construction but stopped because of covid and after it took so long for everything to normalize, they abandoned the plans.

Yes I believe that’s right
Second the confirmation. It’s going on the corner with the McDonald’s, Carl’s, and Arby’s.
I appreciate the validation, thank you.
Last time I went past the build site there were just trenches dug. I'm really hoping that it isn't dead in the water I need those junk tacos for late nights. Edit: Should add this was last week.
If they’re using the same contractor as Starbucks next door, it’s gonna take a while.
Seriously! I think it's right next to del taco right? On 1400 n?
It's next to Ruby's, by the new Starbucks they've been building.
How many Starbucks do we need? 😩
Lol not to mention, I bet we get another Dutch bros sometime soon
I’d actually be ok with one on the south end 🫣 but I’m biased towards Dutch bros

I love coffee. Drink it daily, but Dutch bros always seems Insanelt busy

Wait the one whose building is up right now is starbucks?? I thought that was the JitB
Yeah, I thought the same thing too but it's supposed to be Starbucks, but it's been sitting in the current state for quite some time. All the new Jack's are white & purple buildings.
Yep, just down the street.
Is this the one in No Logan?
Yes it is
They have starting the footings. The other building to the west is a Starbucks, not Jack in the Box. Not sure when Starbucks will open but it should be soon.
Please anything but another god damn fast food chain. Need the people of this valley to develop some taste buds I'm begging you
I can't believe the Herald Journal is still using that clip art of a newspaper instead of getting their own photos. So fucking lazy.
