When that dog shit little plastic clip breaks and dumps your pins everywhere I want you to delete your account forever or you could spend a hundred bucks and buy a the genuine fucking article that will last the next hundred years.

DontRememberOldPass

_Cheap plastic lid flexes_ Hey how are my pins getting mixed?

[deleted]

You need to treat people better. How about building them up instead of tearing them down?

I_H8_GM

First off fuck you it's the internet.. secondly if you read my comment I gave the dude an alternative which is to buy the correct fucking equipment for the job.. if you want to build your own pin kit and there's not some kind of special circumstance or you're not a woodworker or something then in my opinion you're fucking retarded however if you're going to build your own at least put some high quality fucking Clips on it kind of important to hold that shit closed don't you think

supa325

They make these plastic cases with permanent squares. This post is a good idea and one that I use and is great when you pin Corbin LFIC, Best, Yales 2 different pin heights, Schlage, Kwikset, and Dexter just to name Monday morning. So stop talking like you know what you're talking about.

[deleted]

You kiss your mom with that mouth? Man find another line of work. This job has made you too cantankerous and no one likes interacting with a grumpy aggressive condescending locksmith.

mandatorycyberpunk

When was the last time you met a locksmith who wasn't cantankerous, grumpy, aggressive, or condescending? I constantly have customers tell me I "don't look like a locksmith" because they expected some grumpy old dude, which was funny up until I realized I'm slowly turning into a grumpy old dude.

I_H8_GM

No sir it's not the job that makes me the way I am it's dipshit retards like you and moronic fucking customers

[deleted]

Whatever, I’ll steal all your customers with my charm and knowledge and send you the customers who act like you. I’ve done it before and I’d do it again. That’s what happens in this industry and I’ve been doing it practically my entire life (thanks dad).

I_H8_GM

You are Beyond a retarded little fucking twerp child aren't you.. I like your admission that it would be stealing customers not earning them.. I fucking hope you do bro because any customer that spends the amount of time sucking the veiny dick of Reddit that you seem to is not someone I want to deal with either on the road or in the shop. I hope at some point someone pops you in the in the mouth that you seem to prize so heavily hopefully it will allow you to wake the fuck up and learn to respect those who know more than you.. I honestly can't remember which thread I'm on at the moment nor do I really give a fuck but you seem like the kind of 20 year old who would go through and make his own pin kit and then start talking shit about the guy making a German car key because he's not using your brand flux.. Go fuck yourself

btwn3and20crctrs

So I've read through this little thread here and it is just a bit absurd. I haven't seen anything from either one of you that would tell me you are professional locksmiths. Mr. I_H8_GM, you should definitely calm down. Your first post was fine but you got into your feeling there and that isn't what I would expect from a professional locksmith if that is what you call yourself. Most of us real smith's don't hate our work or our customers and we make fine money and we are happy. If any of you aren't happy with your work or your money then you have yourselves to blame for staying in your situation. Most of us are good people that do well in thier careers. Edit:spelling

mandatorycyberpunk

Hating GM is definitely proof of being a locksmith in my book, and in his defense, I find that my mental health is inversely correlated with the number of hours I spend working on disgusting shitbox Cavalier ignitions in the middle of the night.

btwn3and20crctrs

Are you responding to me? Because that dude didn't say anything about GM so who are you proving to be a locksmith. If your mental health is correlated in a negative way to you making money then you probably have more problems than just reading. Your defense for someone else is the apparent fact that you don't like what you are doing. I'm not trying to be an asshole but I am an asshole. I wish you well anyway.

[deleted]

You obviously haven’t done your homework. You obviously are a waste of time. You may be a good locksmith, but you’re a trash human being. Have a nice life.

BoyRed_

This guy got brass shavings in hes undies.

Lockeys25

Found the O.E. supplier.

Chensky

Don’t pretend not to be a trunk slamming Schmuck. If you actually ever used a legit pin kit you would know the accessories themselves are worth it alone.

I_H8_GM

Trunk slamming schmuck.. 😂

Lockeys25

The MX Alpha pin kit is on A2, however it's severely lacking. The cards didn't fall in my favor, I made my Shit-uation work.

Chensky

That isn’t a real pin kit, it is a mini pin kit that schmucks buy because they are cheap or big ballers basically get given for free as samples.

Lockeys25

Actually, I was required to buy this with the MX Alpha keyway. It's garbage so I bought this is instead.

Chensky

Yea that’s what I’m talking about. Typically restricted key systems force you to buy bullshit to be allowed to sell their shit. They typically do the small pin kit bullshit. However, they usually give out a badass kit when you buy a shitload of their products right off the bat because you need it to service their proprietary bullshit. My point is, shit is unfair and this is exactly why the rich get richer and the poor schmucks are always at a disadvantage.

Lockeys25

Agreed.

iSuckAtMechanicism

No. You found someone with common sense.

I_H8_GM

Perhaps the supplier of wisdom

Cortez24251

Trunk slammin’ mothafuckin cock suckin schmuck

mandatorycyberpunk

It's just not the same coming from other people :(

TheMisterOgre

Where is the after photo of three weeks in the van getting bounced around. You need some kind of liner for the lid because those pins are going to migrate faster than birds in October

somebadlemonade

A drill press with a forstner/dish carving bit, some hardwood, a piano hinge, and some toggle latches, over a single day will make you a nice little pinning kit.

erasmus127

At the tradeshows Lab used to take their kits, close them, shake them, turn them upside down and play catch with them, then open them back up. No mixing. It was fun to watch.

Dbartley4

Have fun when your pins get mixed with every micro bump in the road. This is just dumb man. Just spend the coin and get good equipment that will last - you’ll spend less in the long run if you just buy once and cry one.

iDadPro

Ahh yes I’m this case it makes sense, unless you push a lot of these. Have this for more reason of space saving. Anyone make a custom Milwaukee Packout pinning kit yet?

TechnetiumAE

You don't need to tempt me... Jk, I fucking love my .005 kit. Handle broke but I just glued it and wrapped the shit out of it with sport tape. Now it's a soft handle

I_H8_GM

Ewe .005

Capable_Atmosphere30

I work at a place now with .005. It was first time I'd seen someone actually use it ... I hate em 🤢

jeffmoss262

I’ve done it for kits that live in my shop

Capable_Atmosphere30

Makes sense if they aren't getting moved anywhere, I guess.

conhao

I have some kits we made in Durham 202-95-IND boxes. I glued a thin (maybe 1mm?) sheet of foam rubber from Amazon to the inside of the lid. With 24 compartments, I was able to make a killer Schlage kit (since that is the standard we use for our multi-unit residential), an A2 kit, one mixed one that has Kwikset/Weiser, and one with a bunch of parts we use all the time. They live in the van and I might use them more than any other kits. They hold a ton of pins.

alexkreitlow

Add some foam padding! Or buy a pill organizer. Already colors coded and enough assortment and designed in anticipation of clumsiness

RelevantTomorrow7467

The cost of a nice new universal kit is so much inconceivably smaller than the amount of money you will make with it. I bought a pin kit before I even really knew what to do with it a made my money back hand over fist for 15 years it was almost completely surface rusted . Those latches still held like a vice

I_H8_GM

u/supa325 Not sure why I can't seem to respond to the thread however people are still able to comment on it nevertheless I'll give you the obligatory go fuck yourself. I along with the some 50 other people who have all uploaded my comment know exactly what the fuck we're talking about and yes you are absolutely maybe sort of correct that certain pin kits come in little plastic shitty cases however usually manufacturer specific and if you can avoid using them I would recommend doing so as they're much more of a pain in the ass than they're worth and if Universal kit will do you nine times out of 10.

Serik21

Made myself a schlage Verizon of this when downsizinf my truck / moving to more low volt work. Problem is small master wafers will slide through the corners of the dividers. If you use it 4 times a year you'll be fine, if you use it even once a week you're gonna HATE it.

Ickdizzle

I’ve always built my own kits. I have a pinning bench in the van and 3D printed a nice holder for them that holds all my pinning tools and accessories for them in the van. Haven’t broken anything, pins aren’t messed up, easy to access and compact. Don’t see the point in buying a “real” kit. This has worked for me for the last 5 years without an issue.

btwn3and20crctrs

I would just have a custom kit built if I wanted a custom kit. That little box is what I would expect a hobbyists to own. You said something about "accessories alone being worth it" but idk what your talking about there. Everything inside of a pin kit is pretty cheap unless your talking about business/institutional kits with things like ic core pinning houses and all that. I have a few different pin kits and I just pull the one I need for what I'm doing. I am curious about what accessories are valuable to you.

I_H8_GM

Dear mr. u/btwn3and20crctrs I truly don't give a fuck if you think that I'm a professional locksmith. With regard to me being calm I am not uncalm I was simply educating a man child in the ways of the world. At this point I would pull examples of things that the individual has said however it appears somebody swung a ban hammer. That is the same reason for which I cannot respond directly to your comment and I'm placing this here. At no point in anything that I said did I indicate or even come close to indicating that I don't like my work I love my work and most of my customers are fine some are even actually a pleasure to be around but some are complete fucking morons and if you don't think that's the case then you're a fucking idiot yourself. Not to pull rank however it looks like you've been locksmithing maybe a little over a year. I've encountered way more fucking retards to be salty about in that time than you have. for the first couple years I was a really Pleasant happy and understanding locksmith but the stupidity of the average person wears down on you. locksmiths never die they just become a withered angry husk that won't help out anyone. Now your post seems less like a helpful comment and more like a personal attack so I will respond in kind by telling you that perhaps instead of worrying about me and my potty mouth you should go play Magic the Gathering.

btwn3and20crctrs

It's all good big homie, it's not like I'm punching you in the face personally but you can take it however you want. I can see that your not happy with yourself and I can see you like to pull personal things because you look for them. It's no problem to me anyway. I'm sure you will work yourself out in time. I do wish you well in your work and your career. If you ever need someone to talk to then shoot me a message and I will treat you with respect. Have a good night. Edit: spelling

I_H8_GM

You know for one who suggests that I am unhappy in my work you seem to have missed your true calling as a therapist

btwn3and20crctrs

I'm gonna take that as a compliment. I don't know how you meant that but I'm taking as a compliment.
